I have read all the posts I can find on TT5 and the IIs and have fixed a few of the following problems. I have yet to have any answer at all from TomTom support and it is now three days since I posted the issue with them:
"I have recently upgraded to Navigator 5 and have experienced a catalogue of faults with your new version. I have spent the weekend struggling with obvious issues with your unstable software whilst driving about 600 miles and I am seriously considering uninstalling version 5 and returning to version 3. Please respond to each of the following issues as soon as possible:
1. TomTom hangs when you try to close the application. Even after leaving it for up to an hour on the way home yesterday, the screen never unfroze and I had to re-boot. Still an issue, any ideas folks?
2. TomTom rarely runs more than once between re-boots. When you try to start TomTom for a second time the "two little hands" icon appears on the status bar but the PDA then freezes and has to be re-booted. Still an issue, any ideas folks?
3. When not running I get a message "Cannot execute \Windows\ttgpseng.exe" (see attached screenshot) Fixed by hacking the notification queue
4. The Navigate To screens do not show a keyboard on screen. This forces me to use the slide out keyboard on the PDA which is not practical. (see attached screenshot) Waiting on TomTom to patch?
5. When entering an address using the slide out keyboard the Fn key produces a n(tilda) character instead of being mute. This means that I cannot currently use postcodes or numbers when entering an address. (see attached screenshot) Fixed by installing postcodes properly
6. I welcome the new "Warn about POI" feature but it is fundamentally flawed compared to CheckPOInt which I used to use (and no longer works as you have not supplied a new SDK).
a. Your warnings are based on distance from the POI, not time. This means that it is not possible to set a warning which is appropriate to the speed which you are travelling e.g. if you set it to 500 yards/metres this is fine for POI in town but too short for motorway driving. CheckPOInt uses a 30 second warning which varies according to speed! Got round this by using speed rated POI's and setting different distances for different speeds i.e. Gatso30, Gatso40, Gatso70 etc
b. The only warn of POI on route feature is flawed since you cannot resolve which road a POI is on where the POI position is on an intersection. e.g. where a temporary speed camera location is on a bridge above a motorway you will not consider it on the route. (see attached screenshot) Sort of fixed this by only leaving mobile traps as "not on route", after all, gatsos, temps and specs are always on route.
7. Running TomTom changes the backlight settings on my PDA. I have my PDA set so that it will not turn off the backlight when on external power. Running TomTom changes this setting to switch off backlight when on external power. No fix, even through the thread on this forum
8. The change volume according to speed setting makes no discernable difference to the volume of voice instructions. I don't really understand how this works, does it increase the percentage and if so, how much? Anyone seen it work? I have volume on 100% all the time now anyway
9. If voice instructions are switched off and you tap the screen to get the next instruction to be spoken, the instructions are then switched on! You have to then return to the settings menu to switch it off again. Got round this by getting a "mute" voice pack off the web. Now I get silent instructions but still get POI warnings so no need to switch off instructions
10. The TomTom GPS unit often refuses to talk to the PDA without a re-boot. Often, even with patience, the GPS unit will be switched on and will not connect to the PDA. Once you re-boot, the GPS unit then connects and works. This is a constant problem with Nav 3 and 5. This is the bane of my life, any ideas?"
Thanks to everyone who has posting hacks and fixes on this forum, I only just found it but already it is improving my life!!! 8)
you said "When entering an address using the slide out keyboard the Fn key produces a n(tilda) character instead of being mute. This means that I cannot currently use postcodes or numbers when entering an address. (see attached screenshot) Fixed by installing postcodes properly "
does this mean that you have found a way to fix the n(tilde) coming up?, if so could you tell me how?
try this thread and it explains what to do but basically you download a file and put it in a folder called zip in your route of the device.

How did you do point 3 - hacking the notification que, as I have exactly the same problem.
And what is it with Tomtom support, I have posted 3 separate requests for help over a 4 week period and no one has ever got back to me.

Searched loads of forums for this as I'm having similar problems. I can't find this fix on the TomTom site. Is this the fix to bring back the on screen keyboard?
I have TomTom 5 running on the o2 XDAIIs and have the same issues:
1. Don't get the on-screen keyboard
2. The 'navigate to' option on doesn't appear on any of my Outlook Contacts
3. Tilda inserted when I press Fn key to get numbers, just downloaded the file for this & trying it now.
Other than that it's a fantastic bit of kit!
Does the full postcode lookup work for you in TomTom 5?
Apparently there is an issue if this doesn't work and you get the tilda uisng xdaIIs keyboard (I have xdaIIi so haven't seen this issue myself).
If postcodes do not work try re-installing them then creating a folder called 'TomTom' in the same dir as the 'zip' file (this contains the postcodes and is ~8MB), then performing a soft reset, this got postcodes working for me and apparently fixes the xdaIIs keyboard tilda issue.
Interestinlgy, I upgraded from TomTom3 to 5 and got the notification error. I rebuilt xdaIIi after a hard reset at weekend (upgraded to new o2 ROM), and if you install the TT5 upgrade after installing TT3 you don't get the popup message queue error
cheers
TomTom 5
Get the TomTom 5.1 upgrade - it files the ~ (Tilda) problem, as well as many more issues.
Postcodes not working? - Copy the "Zip" folder to "My Documents"
Problems with TomTom - view their support pages - it answers most of the issues in this post....
Postcodes not working? - Copy the "Zip" folder to "My Documents"
Yes, but this uses over 8MB of precious RAM.
Using the folder fix allows you to keep postcodes on SD card
I don't have any of these problems, but I don't use it on a BlueAngel, but on an old IPAQ 3970, and I don't use the TOMTOM GPS unit, I use a NavMan sleeve for that iPAQ. Works perfectly for me.
As for not seeing the screen keyboard, this is solved in 5.10 of TomTom so go download the update. It may fix some of your other problems too.

Hi, i m very happy with the new rom but i have a problem.
I set my emails accounts to periodically (30 minutes) check the account. With other roms when the precess was done then the connection was closed. With the new ROM the UMTS connection keeps stablished and the battery is out in a few hours. Does somebody know how to avoid it??
Thanks...
Same problem here... anybody??
Thanks in advance.
-......and the "always on" is set to 0.....
I am afraid that would undermine the whole definition of Push Mail. So it could very well be that it is impossible.
I remember reading an article about Push Mail and there one of the Microsoft engineers has been talking about that if you use GPRS the battery consumption is much and much less. But hey then whty buy a 3G phone. Also as I understand the GPRS is not able to properly handle the GSM simultaneously. At least I know in QTEK 110S when GPRS is actively downloading data you are unreachable for calls.... UMTS makes that possible.
I suppose it...but now ...
1) I cant automatically check my email (the connection keeps on)
2) I cant automatillally download the weather forecast(the connection keeps on).
......
I cant schedule any application that uses any connection because it keeps on and it drains the battery very quickly.
What can i do?
thanks
the weather program should have a seeting to use an active connection if av ailable. At least I have seen it in some weather programs. And if yours does not have it then get another one.
About other progs that need a connection. If I start IE I can just start browsing and works fine.
About you not being able to automatically check e-mail? I thought you enabled the Push email so what are you talking abouy. It automatically pushes emails to you ?????
ye, yes but what i want is when the program (mail, pocket weather, etc) finishs to use the connection then it is shutted down by the OS.
My job is Windows CE software developer and this is a problem. BEFORE (with old roms) when a program needs a connection the it requests a connection to the Connection manager. Then after use it, the program usually release it (using the connection manager). When no programs needs a connection then the connection manager shutted down the connection (if it was GPRS or UMTS). With the new ROM the connection manager doesnt shut down the connection.....
Yea you are right....
It is the disconnect part.
Well the battery drain is more then.
But hey I am not so bothered because I can load the battery at home in the office and in the car and when I go on vacation I turn the Pushmail offf
semi solved
Hi,
I ve wrote a little C program, 5 Kb. This program monitor any posible GPRS=UMTS connection. If it detects that this connection isnt used in 1 minute(no incoming bytes in one minute) then the connection will be closed.
this program hasnt UI so you will not see anything when you execute it. I will improve it adding a botton icon allowing the set the "one minute" parameter and the posibility to exit it....Obviously the program doesnt run when the device is suspended......
.. it should be placed in \windows\startup folder to run after each reset....
Hi dherrero,
Thanks for posting a great program. I had exactly the same issue as this but your program works perfectly and it disconnects it when the connection is not used for a minute or so.
The only probelm I have now is I equally get disconnected by this program when I am browsing websites with PIE and that is very annoying. I would appreciate it if you could modify this program to make it work only for email checking.
Kind regards,
Hi,
I am improving this little program. it isnt finished but it solves your problem. I recommend you to put it in rom and put a link in windows\starup.
When the system boots you will see a little white-blue icon in the bottom-right.
If you click this icon you will see a screen that show:
1) Bytes received in current connection.
2) Connections that the program has closed.
3) Startup time.
4) Connections checks done. (one each 30 seconds)
5) Last check date
6) Last close date.
And 4 buttons .
1) Disable: It's interesting for you. It disables the action of closing the connections.
2) Enable. The opposite. (by default it is enabled)
3) OK. Hide this screen
4) Close: Close the program.....
I hope it is usefull to you....
You can try also this: http://www.gb-soft.cz/XDAII/product_gprs_tweak_wm5pe_en.htm
hi dherrero
from where can I download your prog?
tx for help
You have to login, or register if you havent, and you will see the link.....
Hi dherrero,
Thanks for getting back so promptly. It works nice on my device and now I can manually disable it directly from the Today screen when I need to.
A minor problem I found is that the characters on the Connection Manager control panel get truncated. This is probably due the fact that I have a Japanese ttc font installed to replace the default system font by tweaking the registry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink\".
I hope this helps your development. Thanks again...
Hi again,
I always develop in VGA, using ozVGA. Now i ve changed the positions and now it looks correctly in vga and sevga.
Hi dherrero,
Thanks a lot!
It now runs flawlessly...
Hi,
I'm wondering whether I'm going to have to take my Orbit back to the O2 shop this week. I've been using it for just over a month now, and absolutely love it. I've been using Tomtom Navigator 6 as a sat nav program, which was working fine for three weeks, and getting a fix within a few seconds. However, in the last week, I have been unable to get a fix, even though in the 'GPS Status' Screen, I am clearly picking up 7 or 8 satellites (with a strong signal). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling TomTom, but it keeps doing the same thing - finding the satellites, but being unable to get a usable fix. I was wondering if this is likely to be a software or rom issue, or if I'd be better taking the Orbit Back to exchange for a new one? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Pete
1/ Is the GPS Quick Fix data upto date? - if not set the Quick Fix application to update when internet connection is present and connect it to your PC, this should update the information that assists the GPS to start quickly (this method avoids having to pay for the high O2 GPRS charges).
2/ Make sure you are not driving off before the unit gets a position fix, once moving without a fix the unit will have an even harder job.
Has anything else changed, the car, position in the vehicle etc - Mike
Thanks for the reply Mike. I have been downloading updates through Quick GPS every day, and I haven't changed anything about how I've been using the Orbit. I've removed Tom Tom completely from my storage card and I'm going to try one last fresh install to see if it helps.
Watch this space!
Pete
Well, after doing a completely clean install of Tomtom onto my sd card and letting it sit with a blank GPS Status screen for nearly 10 minutes, everything appears to be working fine again I think one of the files must have gfone a bit funny, but at least it's all working again, and Mr T can guide my way once again!
Thanks again for the help Mike.
Well just got my upgrade to iG v4.
Here is a short review so far:
The Good:
It works on WM6, no delayed starts on a connected data session, no slow voice prompts, no fullscreen crashes.... My greatest concerns laid to rest.
SmartPhone edition... At least that is what got installed in the directory before I ran it once and it was deleted... nice if so.
Left/Right d-pad scrolls through the key screens (Map, Trip Info, Current Location Data, GPS info, Route List, Destination Info..)
Installed on the main memory performance is quite good and only takes 3-4M for the QVGA version, once you run it once it deletes what it does not need.
Street Fonts are a tiny bit bigger on the closer zoom levels as you approach the street, makes it a bit easier to read with my aging eye sight, but still not good enough for a quick glance... A nice enhancement would be to display the next cross street name, but that comes at a trade off to map view so its a debate there that I am sure the INav folks had. It's a hard balance to keep the map uncluttered and full of useful info...
POI's show up on the map as nicer icons at farther out zoom levels, nice
Of course the street data itself is more accurate now. Most likely the biggest improvement.
Text to Speech. The voice tonation while still female is slightly higher and faster then the normal prompt. It takes a trip or two to get used to it. But it is really pretty good for a first attempt on a PPC platform. The street names are clear and understandable. I always liked the prompts IG gave and having the street name in them is a nice addition meaning I don't have to look at the screen on complex or fast turns...
One map file easy to transfer via a card reader. Simple, complete.
Smaller fonts in the display lists for towns and streets, NOW the street name is decernable and not cut off nor duplicated leaving you wondering which version of the street you were selecting as a destination.
The Not So Good:
Still only the standard color choices. I don't like any of them so I stick with yellow...
Street Fonts - Still can be difficult to read directly from the map while moving, it can be a manuver to get a cross street while on the go.
No WM5-6 menu soft buttons. Come on iNav I thought for sure V4 would get up with the times!
One map file. I like not having to deal with the map loader anymore, but dedicatiing 1.38G of card space to the files really eats up my SD card for street data I may never ever ever ever need... A way to split out half the contry would be a nice add on later on. There has to be an easy way to extract out or split the map data into halves, quadrants??? Gaining some card space back would be nice...
ABC keyboard. I think there is a skin for a QWERTY keyboard out there I may give it a try. It is just a little confusing when typing in street info..
Overall the release is stable and up to date. I was on the fence as the $79 upgrade put me on the verge of moving over to another product but after demoing them I still found them lacking features that I liked in iGuidance. Tom Tom came the closest and still has some very nice features but the hurdle there was cost of entry $50 more and older street data. I think for my use that iGuidance provides the best balance of uncluttered map rendering with useful information display and robust voice prompts in a compact foot print on the device (program wise not the maps... That I think is still a bit large).
Well you sold me! I have 3.0.1 but I think i'm going to have to pop for the new version just for the main issues (no crashing, delay with data conn., etc)
I was already sold, because iguidance has always been a stellar product. I have 2.1.3 and 3.0.1, so 4.0 was already in my future. I must admit it really does help to hear first hand comments.
I've used iGuidance v3 with Schaps' 3.30c for some time and have never had the issues which you describe. (lock ups, slow screens, etc.)
Great program and I'll be eyeballing and upgrade to v4.
J
Thanks for the great review. For me, the 1.3gb map file is a show stopper. I have alot of mp3 and videos on my storage card and giving up 1.3 gigs when I only need a few hundred megs - forget about it! I will stick with my 3.01 and just not touch the map screen (which causes it to crash in WM6).
i just ordered a 2GB Sandisk Ultra II microSD on internet, my current 1GB microSD wont fits the map data.
so i installed IG4.0 on Dell Axim x50v with WM5.0, it takes much longer to load the map or calculate the routes compare to IG3.1,
maybe because it has to search the whole 1.3GB of map data to find what it needs..
or maybe i have a slow (regular) SD card
the lady that speaks the street names (TTS) kinda talk too fast, sometime it's hard to understand what she saying.
speaking of Iguidance. is there a script that turn on bluetooth automally when i launch iguidance?
i hate to say it but tomtom all the way.
i have both, i have loves iguidance (used it since 2.0) and it worked great till things start slowing down for now reasons.
When it works it's great, when it doesn't it's a nightmare (you usually have to soft reset after closing to get the unit to sync again with a BT receiver).
tomtom on the other hand is very intuitive. map loading is a nightmare (much worse than iguidance) but once there everything is smooth sailing (soft menus do get a bit too deep at time).
in any case iguidance 4 looks nice but i think i'll stick with tomtom nav 6.

does tomtom give you the ability to load destinations from your contacts list?
Coppying this from another thread I posted in, to add a few points;
I tested it out last night on a Cingular 8525 that is running WM6 (Black Majik), and it works great, no more abrupt program closes when touching the screen while driving, that occured with v3 and WM6.
The new text to speech engine works fine however, they still use the nice English woman's voice for the basic prompts, then when a road comes up where the TTS kicks in, the voice switches to a rough sounding woman (maybe an old smoker?). The overall effect is OK but a little odd/distracting to me.
I used to change a few sounds in the program files\iNav\snd folder to my preference, e.g. I changed the annoying "ding" (Mvr.wav) to now say "TurnPoint". Well the sound files are still there but are now sporting .spx extensions, seem to be smaller files now. Edit, there are audio converters (eg. Ease Audio Converter) that easily convert .wav to .spx so it's still easy to tweak a few sounds if desired.
The North America Edition, covers North America, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. All of this and the TTS engine now are all in one 1.3gig folder that you must copy onto the phone's microSD card, no more loader program for maps! Since Black and other latest WM6 roms support MicroSDHC Cards, I added a 4gig card to mine so the storage is now a non issue for me.
Overall I like it, I'd prefer that the major highways still use the original voice "turn on 5 north" vs the TTS, nice voice "turn on" then rough voice "CA 5 North" which as I mentioned is just a little off sounding. But the prog seems stable, minor changes in the data entry areas but very minor.
Edit, Here's a tip from GPSpassion, to now choose your speech options, Original Voice Only (non-TTS), All TTS, and the stock Mixed Mode (wav and TTS).
* Open your register editor
* Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\iNav\iGuidance
* Create a new DWORD Value
* Name it TTS
* Set the value to 0 to hear direction prompts consisting of only WAV
* Set the value to 1 to hear direction prompts consisting of WAV & TTS
* Set the value to 2 to hear direction prompts consisting of only TTS
0 = voice prompts as in older iGuidance versions (no street names)
1 = default voice prompts of iGuidance 4
2 = TTS (text-to-speech) used for the whole voice prompt (not just for street names)
I tried this, changed to All TTS and it's less distracting compared to the standard version where it's shifting between two different voices. I've tested this more and now see why iNav made this Mixed option the only option. If you use the "all TTS" option, there is a greater delay in the voice prompts which means the they come too late if you are driving at any faster speed (eg over 25-30 mph). The mixed version is OK as far as the delay. They should have put TTS On/Off as a toggle in the setup screens as I am still on the fence as to weather the TTS is that great. I'd like to be able to kick it in and out. Maybe a Mort Script is in my future for this.
All in all I do like it and iNav still. I may try OCN6 but don't want a dedicated memory card so that may nix that for me.
It was tough clearing out some MP3s to get the space. I will be getting a 4G card when faster ones come out and I don't have to sell my first born to get one.
I was really on the fence but since it is performing good I don't mind paying for the upgrade.
I think there is a voice speed up/down hack floating around somewhere also if I fine it I will post it.
I really think that card speed impacts aspects of the programs performance. I have a 60X 2G card and it seems OK to me.
I just installed iGuidance 4, having used TomTom for several years. I'm not crazy about the iG4 interface, but the map and POI data is so much better.
Strangely, I am having the slow startup problem. I'm running an 8525 with Black Satin, and unless I disconnect my data connection (usually GPRS), it takes more than 2 minutes to load. It's not a big deal, as it's easy to disconnect, but it's surprising as I heard that this was fixed with version 4. I never ran version 3, so I don't know how the issue compares between versions. I'm not having the screen-touch crash problem at all.
i running iguidance v4.0 with a script that turn on bluetooth automally when i launch ig4.0, it takes around 15seconds to load IG4.0 with GRPS data connected.

This is a little dis-concerting. I was going to buy this, but this is my biggest issue with iGuidance 3. Anyone else running into this issue?
i used TT6 b4. It goes much faster than IGuidance 4.0. The iGuidance's map is much better accurated and pronounce street names. Iguidance makes my 8525 go really slow. I'm using Schaps 3.57a. TT6 turns on Bluetooth automaticly, but Iguidance 4.0 doesn't. Which one should i use?
i have no startup issues with iG4. its the "stuttering problem" that has been bugging me and some others in another forum.
if you do experience the "stuttering problem" the registry edit that was posted few posts back solves it.
i do agree GUI of this app is yet to be desired. anybody else tried iGO? now that kind of GUI would be nice for iG4
Well, I do have problem with start-up. It's slow when on Data connection.
Other issues it's "stuttering problem" but I think that iNavCorp will handle this issue.
Overall the program is great. I've started with 2.3.1 then 3.0 -> 3.01. Maps, well I think what they did is great. 3.01 I had 1.4 GB with Eastern US and Canada, now 1.3 GB and its all. Interface - you have to get used to it, I like it.
I have original WM6 from HTC.
is there any ways to turn on Bluetooth automaticlly when we start Iduidance like Tom Tom6?????

i hope so. emailed them about this problem and all they said was to send them a recording of the problem.
buygpsnow.com also emailed them of the same issue and all the said was it was an isolated case. so maybe if there are any other users here with the same issue, inav may be convinced that their product has a problem.

their has been posts about users having problems using iG4 while an ACTIVE DATA CONNECTION is active. so this may be something you need to look into more.
have you tried using iG4 without any DATA CONNECTION active? if so, do you have the same problem?

I came accross a post on pocketgpsworld with details to change a reg value that would enable storing of the GPS location in EXIF data for pics taken with the built in camera....
I made the change but nothing in the EXIF data and i'm still missing the GPS icon in the camera view which suggests this doesnt work on an Orbit.
Does anyone have any more information or if this is/isn't available to use on the Orbit or if it's dependent on the version of the camera app?
It should work (well I know it works on the Orbit hardware) what OS are you using on your device I have only seen this work on WM2005, not too sure about WM6 if that is what you are running - Mike
Sorry, would have helped.
I'm running the standard O2 WM6 rom that is now shipped with the Orbit and also available for upgrade on my-xda.com
It works in the orbit - its enabled in my cooked o2 roms - which registry change did you make?
Thanks for replies guys.
In the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/HTC/Camera/P9 key i changed the Enable value from 0 to 1

Yes thats right - you get a new mode like sport mode not an icon. From normal photo mode scroll with trackball to the left and new mode will appear.
Thanks for your help!
The screenshot i'd seen of the camera app showed a gps/satellite icon that i'd been told toggled on/off but you're right...on the orbit it's a different mode you have to select.
It seems to work OK despite for some reason the GPS LED on the left of the ear speaker not flashing.
In fact, it will create a gps photo with exif gps cords, but the cords are nulls
this has been bugging me for a while, but yesterday i was out walking and already had a gps fix with anotehr app in the background, tried gps photo and it didn't seem to do anything new, however i selected the phone to save to memory instead of sd card, and then restarted the app, now i get a little box saying 'intialising GPS' and a little icon appears next to the mode seletion (the top left) witha little siginal indicator, now the photos get saved with gps co-ords! i can switch it to sd and it saves fine, butwhen you start the app it has to be selected as main memory for storage, gonna look to see if theres someway to fix it, also i found a freeware app that lets loads the picture and then makes a kml file for google earth, can't remember what its called now tho
Hi,
I have an unbranded UK TP2, ROM 1.19.401.1, Radio 3.46.25.30 (The latest ROM and the radio with the GPS fix) however I cannot get quick GPS to work.
On the surface quick GPS seems to work correcly, it will connect and download the required data, it will then show that data is valid for seven days, however it has no effect on the time to first fix from a cold start.
I have tried the following experement, hard reset and install only HTC GPS tool, (no tweaks). Then go outside to get a clear view of the whole sky. Then use HTC GPS tool to perform a Cold start. GPS lock takes 5 mins 40 sec without QGPS, Then exit GPS tool and update QGPS and perform GPS cold start again, again GPS fix then takes 5 min 30 sec.
Hot start performance is fine, sub 10 second and warm start is also satisfactory 30 sec(ish)
Does Quick GPS make any difference to a cold start for anyone else? (after all it main purpose is to speed up cold starts.)
Cheers
Tom
When i looked at the reg settings for GPS, A-GPS is disabled by default so quickgps data isnt used - my ROM is same as yours.

Quick GPS is different to A-GPS, I agree A-GPS is disabled by default in the ROM (it also has a dummy ip address in the settings so would never work if enabled). However Quick GPS is a separate entity, it seems like the GPS driver is not utilising the ephemeris data from the xtra.bin file downloaded by the QuickGPS app.
Can anyone confirm that Quick GPS is working on their TP2 (Cold start only)
Cheers
Tom

That's rather scary. Is there any way to get A-GPS to actually work?
Although I see what you mean about it's scary, I really dont experience any lengthy delays in getting a fix, even on a poor weather day I get a fix in around 1 min (never timed it but I am impatient so it would be obvious )
I use Copilot - which I must say v8 is a bargain compared with other offerings.
The only irritation I do have with HTC is their inability to get rid of the GPS lag....so sick of trying things but you learn to live with it - specially as the new BT stack prevents connection to external GPS receivers (they can be paired but CP7 and TOMTOM7 wouldn't communicate with them). 1 step forward, 2 back!
