mobile friendly web pages - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

okay okay i know this is completely off topic from BA's but just wondering what mobile sites you use.
the only descent one i have found is from the bbc's.
it would be great if ebay did a condense version and maybe you guys could suggest a decent mobile search engine

maybe i should do a search instead of asking a question. ebay does a wap service www.wap.ebay.com which is a little to condense for me but i will save me allot of time.

Mobile-friendly Websites...

Greetings all... Do any of you know of any websites that are designed specifically for mobile devices? I am already aware of PocketVIP (which is a pretty good culmination of mobile sites). Do any of you know of any others with a plethora (I love saying that word) of mobile-friendly sites/links???
i930 Favorites

Thanks for the suggestions!
I found amost all my mobile sites on this link. Quite possibly the only list you'll ever need. I mean, there's some mobile links on this list that I never dreamed of like for example Edmunds2go (Car site). Imaging checking car prices and reviews, formatted for a mobile browser and easy to read/use right on your phone. Too cool!!! Enjoy and let me know what ya'll think.

WANTED: "AROUND ME" Pendant

Hi Guys!
First of all I want to say hi to everyone. I'm going to buy the HTC TOUCH HD during the next couple of days and I want to get as much information as I can.
So I came to this Forum and I'm overwhelmed by all this information here.
This is a huge database full of important topics!
I was struggling with me whether to buy an iPhone or the Touch HD. Finally I decided that I'm going to buy the Touch HD, because of the flexibility and the advanced technology of this phone.
My friend got an iPhone and showed me an application called "AROUND ME". It basically locates you via GPS and shows you any store or bank or any other business thats in your vicinity plus calculates a route to that business. As I remember it was freeware. As I know I can't use this on Windows Mobile operating systems, but is there a similiar application for Windows Mobile - if possible Freeware? I was already using the search engine and got lots of results but none that gave me an specific answer.
I heard about Windows Live Search Mobile (or something like that) but since I'm living in Germany I can't use this service, because it only supports France, USA, Italy, etc..
Can anyone help me?
Thanx in advance!
Mat
GoogleMap mobile you can see search, and Streetview may be available in your area. It's free and pretty cool.
Thank you very much! I can't wait to check it out as soon as I have the HD in my hands!

mobile tv

I've had mine 2 weeks tomorrow i am loving it!!!
The only thing is,because i got mine early(unbranded) but with a vodafone contract i am told i can't use the mobile tv or live.vodafone, now i have found a way of accessing live.vodafone(pretty useless) but no options of mobile tv.the advisors tell me i need the voda firmware to use tv? Funny thing is they never said that when they sold/mis-sold me the tv package???
Does anybody know of any other way to access my paid for skysport package?
Regards Rich
Ps Big thanx to everyone on here who develop all the cool stuff and are a big help to most if not all problems!
This is the message i posted on the Rubbish Voda Forum,AND THANX TO THIS FORUM im sorted!!! Just waiting for one of the Great custom Roms that are gonna be about soon(i hope) and i have one very very nice piece of kit...Big Up for The Touch Pro2
OH YEH!!!
You better belive it........Success and with one day to spare before the Ashes starts.
As i sit here writing this message i am watchin SkySports on my crystal clear 3.6inch Touch Pro2 screen. And i must say,i was impressed with my kaizer on T-Mobile mobile tv but from what i've seen so far Voda Wins hand down. The picture is much clearer and the buffering non existant,a very strong connection of over 3.5Mb downlink(in most areas i have been so far).
So apart from the lack of help and the "Do it yourself" attitude i am very pleased with my new Phone and Voda Contract.
Thanx for your Help Neil_Brown You certainly sent me in the right direction, and altho the isp setting i needed were already set in my phone, the thread in the Great Forum Xda Developers is invaluable
Also thanx to DPH
All i needed was a Different Browser and Player With a Few Tweeks on both!
best not say to much on this forum tho as it might be seen as my trying to spoil Vodas exclusivity?
As they said "I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO WATCH MOBILE SKYSPORTS ON MY UNBRANDED PHONE" lol

To upgrade or to wait?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if the people in this forum could help me make up my mind on whether to get the TP2 or to wait for the Fortress?
In particular I was wondering just how much slower the EDGE network would be in real situations, a.k.a. checking the occasional web page and especially how much slower it would be in using logmein? (I seem to remember a few comparisons being done back when the Iphone was restricted to Edge and people saying that there wasn't as much difference as one would think because the bottleneck with web pages tended to be the browser rather than the network speed)
I am a repair technician who spends more time on the road than in the office and if I could have a phone with a decently big screen that would let me do a little light surfing, check my email, and remotely help customers via logmein sometimes without having to get my laptop from the car, boot it up and find a way to connect to the internet I think it would be absolute paradise.
Right now I have an 8525 that has been a very good phone over its lifetime even if I've never run any advanced ROM's on it. It had the stock WM5 when I got it and I upgraded it to the official WM6 from HTC when that came out however most of my playing with it's interface has been with SPB's software and I have to admit that Mobile Shell 3 is a more amazing interface than anything else I've ever seen or heard about elsewhere. Still, my 8525 is getting a bit old and it would be sooo nice to have a bigger screen for the web and logmein.
It's just that every time I read a new release date estimation on the Fortress it seems to get placed further and further in the future (the last one I read said something about Oct/Nov) and I'm beginning to wonder whether I shouldn't just buy the European version for now and then sell that on Ebay when ATT finally gets around to releasing theirs to help defray the cost of the Fortress?
Thus I come back to my original question, has anyone here had any experience surfing the web on the TP2 over EDGE? Or better yet has anyone here tried using logmein from this model phone on ATT's network? How have your experiences in doing either of these been? Is the upgrade worth it for the TP2 or should I really just wait for the Fortress and pray desperately that it is everything that I hope it will be? Well, have a nice day everyone.

I appologize for not noticing the other thread before posting this one however having just read through that thread I don't see any information regarding my primary questions about how much of a difference in experience there is between 3G and Edge in light web browsing and using logmein (and whether the difference would be more a factor of the phone's resources and browser than the actual speed of the network connection). I will post my questions there as well if you think it will get answers though. Again, sorry for not seeing that thread first.

By the way, the new XDA layout sucks elephant bal*&

lol
Sorry but it does. It is NOT mobile friendly. Yes, im using the old XDA 2010 forum skin/theme. It's way better than that new stuff they got going. I absolutely HATE sticky bars on top. Those things annoy me because you CAN'T zoom on the page without the bar taking over your screen. And I wasnt able to log in because the login box shrinks when you zoom in hiding half the area. Sites are supposed to be mobile friendly and easy to navigate with ALL features available. It seems that websites are going back in time making it hell for mobile phone users. I don't like stuff taking over the screen except for what I want to view.. ehhhh..
There seems to be an abundant amount of websites using those crappy glued bars and it's hell irritating to navigate. Especially when they are designed for mobile users.
Anyway... sorry for the rant.

Member thank you for your feedback, I am guess you also think searching "sucks" as there is a thread in place for your feedback. Although your feedback as you state is more of rant.
Never the less, Thread Closed.
