temporarily disabled access from 'cache.ruh' - About xda-developers.com

I temporarily disabled access for requests which have 'Via: cache[0-9].ruh'
in the request.
this web cache is running software ( i think it is called 'bluecoat' ) which does large amounts of prefetch requests, regularly almost bringing down our server.
a webcache doing prefetch requests, will analyze a requested webpage, and retrieve all that are linked from that page. ... for instance for the front page of xdadev, this means 139 links. the bluecoat software requests them all at once. ... which is a load our server cannot handle.
unfortunately, i think most of saudi arabia has to access the internet through this web cache.
so i may have now disabled an entire country from accessing xda-developers. but i am not sure if that is the case.
please let me know if you are in saudi arabia, and have trouble accessing our site, and also, if you can access our site still just fine now.
i would like to know what effect this disabling has.

too many server directs

Hi,
I am having a problem when I try and access my Sky.com email account from my Desire. I get to the Sky.com page, click on my email, sign in and then get "Data connectivity problem" and "the page contains too many server redirects" and then a "web page not available" screen.
I have plenty of memory available on both the phone and the SD card. I have cleared cache, history and cookies etc.
I have removed all reference to sky on the phone, googled it, and tried again. Same result.
I have no problem accessing my account on my pc and I used to be able to get onto the account using the phone. It makes no difference whether I am connecting via wifi or the mobile network.
Any ideas what this means and any ideas how to solve.
Thank you.
The browser is having a problem with the way the website redirects it to the correct page. Possibly try a different browser - Dolphin, perhaps?
Thanks for that.
Have just down loaded Dolphin (nice browser) but no joy, I get exactly the same messages.
It isn't a problem accessing the account however because I can, via my pc, organise the Sky emails to be sent to my hotmail account which I can access via the phone.
However, as I used to be able to access my Sky emails from the phone but now cannot, I want/need to sort it out!!
Any further ideas?
I don't have a Sky account so can't check to see exactly what's going on here. You say "I used to be able to access my Sky emails from the phone" - do you mean on your HTC Desire? And it's just stopped working properly? That being the case, I suspect you're going to have to wait for Sky to come up with a fix. NTL/Virgin users have experienced a similar problem: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=40027958
Thanks again.
I used to be able to access my e-mails directly from the Sky account on the Desire. I went abroad on holiday recently and couldn't access them (ie get into my Sky account after signing in) on the Desire, I presumed because I was out of the UK and something needed to be changed in my Sky email account settings.
However, since returning, the position remains the same. Google provide the email service for Sky.
PS And on that subject, I am also getting a security warning telling me there are problems with the security certificate in that the name of the site does not match the name on the certificate ie Sky is the site; Google is on the certificate!!
Did anyone get through this? I am getting the same damn problem.
Someone pls help.
Try operamini, that's what I allways use when websites play up.

too many server redirects part 2

I still have this problem (part 1 currently on page 6 of this forum); the above message coming after I sign in to my Sky.com email account. So I cannot access my account.
I have been reading stuff on the internet about this problem and it is not uncommon and apparently this can be cookie related.
So my question is, is there any way I can see which cookies remain on my Desire? I am not talking about session cookies but the ones that still remain even after deleting those. It seems possible that the cookie deposited by Sky is corrupting my ability to access that site.
So it is worth a go but where do I find it? A virtual bottle of pop to anyone who can help.
Thank you.

[Q][SOLVED] Is Facebook down on Andorid/Desire?

Anyone else having problems? Haven't been able to connect for a couple of days now. No posts, notifications, updates etc.
Funny enough when I try to go via web it says ""access restricted bad (IP)" - associated with abusive behaviour. What's this? Any ideas?
Edit:
It appears what has happened is that due to Orange using Proxies to log into facebook the IP addy has been blacklisted. What I am guessing is that as this coincides with the Launch of Facebook places Facebook thinks that the IP is spamming it with multiple places simultaneously and as such blacklisted the IP.

So youve have restricted access for being abusive? Theres your answer. Can you log in on a computer?

Thanks for help.
Not aware I've been abusive! It's the Android/Sense apps that won't connect, and it was via the web on the phone that I got this message. Can't try the web from work as its a blocked site.
Have queried with Facebook and they say they'll get back to me.
I can't get it to work today either, it was last synchronized last night. Today neither friends stream or the Facebook app will connect

If you google this there are loads of people on the Orange UK network with the same problem (me included)
Not sure if/when it'll get fixed.
Forgot to say I am on Orange too. Aha...so that's where the problem lies. They're not having a good time what with the data outage a couple of weeks ago etc etc.

I can't seem to get any content from the touch Facebook page, it let's me sign in but that's all I see. No problem with the mobile page of the Facebook app. Im also able to load the touch page on my laptop and can access everything, so it seems there is something wrong when viewing the touch site on the desire. I'm on tmobile by the way.

MotoACTV connect

Got a nice little MotoACTV? Love to workout with it? But can't figure out how to export your data from MotoACTV.com to, say Runkeeper.com?
Well, good news.
I've just published a new HealthGraph App to do just that.
[deleted]
You can also find it through the Runkeeper Apps:
[deleted]
Yes that's a strange site name. If I get enough subscribers I'll get a better domain, in the mean time it is what it is.
Once you are at the site, you have to connect to press the "Connect to Runkeeper" button and follow the Open Authentication process. None of your Runkeeper account information is posted to redsneaker.us. And my server doesn't store any data from your profile, it is all embedded in the encrypted session key in your browser cookie.
You will then see a table showing your most recent Runkeeper Activities (so you can make sure you're not posting duplicates).
Next, you will have to supply your MotoACTV login credentials. MotoACTV doesn't have a public API and doesn't have an Open Authentication process. However, your credentials are not stored on the site, simply included in the encrypted session information. The down side of this is you will have to supply them each time you connect.
Once you have successfully connected you will see a list of your MotoACTV workouts and next to each a button labeled 'Send to Runkeeper'. Just press the button, and in a few seconds your workout data will be posted to Runkeeper in a new Activity, including your GPS track and heartrate data.
Currently only "Running" workouts are supported, though you can just edit the activity in Runkeeper. I'll be adding support for other activities soon.
If you like it, please become Runkeeper Elite through the link on my site. Or you can donate to me, but I think you'd be happy with the additional value of being Runkeeper Elite.
For those who do become Elite through my site I will enable a daemon to monitor your MotoACTV workouts and automatically post a Runkeeper Activity when a new workout is posted. This will allow you to use the MotoACTV using stock software and a few minutes after the MotoACTV automatically posts your data to MotoACTV.com your data will also appear on Runkeeper as a new activity! Simple!
Please also understand this site is not in a polished state yet, I haven't made any effort to work on the CSS (stye), and didn't want to delay access to the technical bits while trying to make it flashy. At the end of the day, my goal is for you to not need to access my site anyway, just go directly to Runkeeper.
5 Sep 2012: Fixed a bug in the temp file handling, was causing some workouts to fail with "internal server error".
Sep 2016: My app and site have been permanently retired. Too much work and cost to keep it up purely as a service to humanity. Thanks for your interest!
+1 for Strava
Strava doesn't look that difficult. I've looked at their API and it's a pretty easy REST site. Unfortunately they don't do OAUTH, so you'd have to supply credentials, just like the MotoACTV. But I think I may use Strava as a test case for ensuring the middle layer in my code is site independent.
an output for runtastic.com would be also great!!!
Another vote for STRAVA
I've tried the App a few times now and it's excellent. It would be nice to import as "cycling" as well but it's no problem changing it on the runkeeper site after import. Thanks again for your work.
I hope you do an output to Strava next. It has one killer feature that beats runkeeper - "Segments". Give it a try and you'll see what I mean, it's highly addictive.
I have been manually exporting my Motoactv data into Strava for a while and it works very well but would love an App to do it for me.
Missing workouts?
First , congrats for your app! It works perfect from the first time!
Just a question: I only could upload runs from 8/8 until today. But I have recorded, exercises from 16/7 and aren't listed. Is there a way to request these runs , so I can upload to Runkeeper?
It loads one month of MotoACTV workouts. I meant to add navigation buttons to get to earlier ones, but didn't want to hold up release for it. Soon...
+1 good work.
sounds like a really cool idea keep getting internal server error, have tried at work and on my home machine but when i go to sync my motoactv account it just says internal server error 500, anyone else getting this message?
Hi, was there any further progress on the strava upload. It would be amazing. Thanks.
If it is possible to download workouts from the MOTOACTV-Portal it should be also possible to upload data???
This gave the possibility upload tracks and sync them with the MOTOACTV to follow the tracks.

The error 500 comes from a resource not found, and it actually is generated due to an authentication issue with MotoACTV. Unfortunately since the offending authentication data is stored in your browser session cookie, it can't be cleared without removing the session cookie.
How to delete cookies depends on your browser, but it's usually somewhere inside the privacy settings. Delete all the cookies for leeloo.doesntexist.com and try reconnecting, but make sure you have the right username and password.
Hint: the username should be an email address. Yeah, I could add code to verify you're using a proper username... But I haven't had spare time to throw at the MotoACTV in a while.
Let me know if this takes care of the issue.
Just became Elite!
This is the answer to my dreams. Thanks!
I just registered for 1 year of Runkeeper Elite through the affiliate link on the site.
How do I set it up to auto - upload my Motoactv runs to Runkeeper? Do you have to enable that manually?
Great site one bug
I joined run keeper thru your site I like what your doing however all my activities are imported with 7773.70 miles I would love to run this but I'm struggling with 4 miles

Sometimes I have the same error.
Do you have the possibility to package the import process available from your website into a android application ?
Because If your website will be offline, the import from Motoactv to runkeeper don't be possible.
Thk for your job.
Server been having issues lately? All i get when I try to push not is 500 errors.
I hope it gets fixed. I absolutely love this app.

I only have that problem if I don't have a GPS lock for the entire run. Make sure your GPS is solid and it'll work.
I just got a motoactv and want to know if this is still being supported and in active development. Thanks!
I'm not able to connect to the site anymore, either via the direct link or through the RunKeeper site. Is this project all finished, or can we hold out hope that it will be back up & running? Thanks.

Contacts App Questions

Hi guys,
I am thinking of buying a Pixel XL. I played with one today at the store and I found a disturbing issue to me. If I add a contact it only gives me one line for the address. Exactly the same BS like on the web portal of gmail.
Usually, you can click somewhere and expand the address field to more but single fields for street, city, country and so on.
This one line might work just great if you use only US addresses, but as soon you get into international addresses from countries around the world. Google can't handle the input anymore and gets confused what is what.
Was I just to blind to see how to expand the field or is it really that bad? Now I would need to install a second contacts app with this option. Great job Google!!!
Not sure if this a feasible work around but you could possible try a differnt contact apps?
See here: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=Contacts&c=apps&hl=en

I may not be understanding correctly, but I just tried adding a new contact and I was able to add a multi-line address. I just hit enter after each line and a new line appeared.
Eg.
1234 Street name
City
Province
Postal Code
Is this what you meant, or did I misunderstand the problem?
As I'm German and only save German, a few French, Danish and some addresses from Luxembourg I too don't see the problem.
As mentioned above you can always hit enter for another line but even if you don't and write it all in one line Google is always smart enough to know where to navigate me.
Correct me but if you have saved a contact with an address and you hit it you get directed to maps, maps searches instantly for the address and it doesn't even matter if postal code, town or even country is missing.

I tried to do the same before in the web portal of gmail. No matter if i enter everything in one line or hit enter. Google got confused. I dont remember what addresses gave me problems. I think one was Butan, Kazachstan, Peru and Chile I believe.
Also if i view the entry from the web portal on my mobile (galaxy note) and I go to edit contact. The address is completly mixed up. In the city field is the street, street is country and so on. It was a big mess up. I dont know if Google already improved that. I stopped using the web portal and entered the addresses on mobile where I had the actual fields for City, Street, ZIP and so on...
I dont have a Pixel yet so cant try a lot. I played with it in a Verizon store....
