Cant Enter Bootloader!

I am facing a problem which i have never faced before.
My phone is a Sprint HTC M8 Stock Marshmellow and working fine. The problem is when i want to enter fast boot mode, After turning off the phone when i try to press the power button + volume down, the phone vibrates and then nothing happens except a black screen. I can understand the phone is in fastboot mode as its detected by the All in One Tool. But no further movement after that. I have to press Power + volume Up to reboot the phone again to enter my os.
In simple words i cant access the bootloader menu, all i see is a black screen. Can anyone help please?

State of my Pixel XL - Need Help

A few months ago I sold my Google Pixel XL on EBay is perfect working condition. The buyer returned the phone after 12 days stating that the phone would not boot. Not sure if she was trying to unlock the bootloader or what. I got the phone back and when I power it on I get the Google splash screen then screen goes dark, then the splash screen again. Not sure if the phone is salvageable or not. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
can you get it into the bootloader?
Sounds like a soft brick. If the padlock is open on the Google screen and you get a message on boot then it's unlocked at which time I'd recommend installing the lastest factory image from Google and then relock if you want to use it stock and unrooted.

More Information
The Google Splash screen is completely white with the Google name in the center. It will come up and then the screen goes black. Then the process repeats.
When trying to get into recovery I get an android lying on his back 16 blue squares in its belly. Below is the information on its screen....
BL: 8996-012001-1711291800
Baseband: 8996-130091-1710201747
Product/Variant: marlin-US-PVT
Serial Number: xxxxxxx
CPU:
UFS:
DRAM:
Boot-slot: a
Console: Disabled
Secure Boot: PRODUCTION
Device is LOCKED
When selecting RECOVERY MODE the phone boots back to the Google splash screen.
When selecting Restart Bootloader the phone boots back the Android laying on its back.
I think this phone may only be good for parts but I am not sure. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Once you.see the dead Android hold the power button in, while holding it in press the volume up button one time, release the power button.
Sideload current firmware from google and that should work and it will also lock bootloader
Isn't his bootloader already locked ? And I'm pretty sure OTA, files don't relock your bootloader, that's something you have to do manually.

I tried this but nothing happens. I think the phone is worthless now unless someone wants it for parts.

His bootloader is locked isn't it, according to the info he shared above ?
If you cannot do anything in recovery with bootloader locked you are probably out of luck.
If your device is on, turn it off.
Press and hold the Volume down button. While holding Volume down, press and hold the Power button until the phone turns on. You'll see the word "Start" with an arrow around it.
Press the Volume down button until you highlight "Recovery mode."
Press the Power button to start recovery mode. You'll see an image of an Android robot with an exclamation mark (you may also see "No command").
Press and hold the Power button. While holding Power, press the Volume up button once. Then release the Power button.
If "Wipe data/factory reset" isn't highlighted, press the Volume down button until it is. Then press the Power button to select it.
Press the Volume down button until you highlight "Yes" (or "Yes - delete all user data"). Then press the Power button to select it.
After the reset is complete, press the Power button to select "Reboot system now."
When you're done, restore your data. Learn how to restore your data on a Pixel phone or on a Nexus device.
Tip: If your device becomes unresponsive, you can restart it by holding down the Power button for several seconds.

One of the reasons I tell everyone to always unlock their bootloader and keep it unlocked. There's honestly no down side to it, and it prevents things like this from happening. I'm sorry the OP is in this situation, truly sucks.

A2 lite - unresponsive touch screen, can't start, can't enter recovery

As title, touch screen is only resposive down centre (vertically) - left and right no response. So, I can't enter PIN to start android.
Volume Up + Power doesn't get into Recovery... just android symbol and 'No command'
Volume Down + Power gets into Fastboot, but no device seen with adb
I'd quite like to send the phone for possible repair at some point but want to factory reset it before I do... any ideas..?
Turned back from checking emails on PC and the phone was in recovery..!!!
No idea how..?!!
But I got to Factory Reset
