Help: BT turning off too with power off?!? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Howdy,
I've been reading this forum for a couple of days now and must say am very happy to have found it.
In the meantime, I've upgraded my radio (1.12) and bluetooth software (3900) - but have just found something "interesting"...
When the xda is on - blutooth works fine - however after switching the device off - the bluetooth connection drops out for some reason.. having said that - I've read many posts about poor bluetooth performance issues etc - but it appears that this is a new thing?
Amusingly enough - when the xda2s is turned back on, the bluetooth icon in the systray reflects the fact that BT has in fact been turned off.
So here's the series of events:
1. xda is on - bluetooth systray icon is blue - showing "connected status". Headset icon in upper bar also showing.
2. xda is off - no bluetooth connection - (incoming phone calls etc don't go to headset - takes ages to connect etc.)
3. xda turned back on after being off - 1st second after being turned back on: BT systray icon shows "connected", but immediately goes red to show "not connected" or "BT *off*", then in the following couple of seconds turns itself back on to show "BT on"...
Very strange!!
Is this a freak incident or is there some setting to keep BT on/off upon power-off?
Any thoughts?

Unfortunately no answers have been forthcoming. :\

Me too, same problem
Next to the echo issue also this is very bad.
Can broadcom not make a better bluetooth stack ?
Unbelivable, so much money spend on a machine and then this Phone/Bluetooth quality.

Upgrade to BT 3900 and use screenlock
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=14621
to turn off the XDA, not the power button and set the XDA power preferences to never power off.
It's the screen that eats the battery power, so screenlock will help here, but your BT connection will stay alive (also consuming power).

Activesync keeps restarting

Just upgraded to WM5 himalaya port - thanks to everyone for their hard work!
I also added magic button and that's when I noticed that active sync keeps popping up on my device. It doesn't wake the device up, but every few minutes the active sync icon appears.
I have looked in the active sync options but I cant seem to find anything that would show how to turn it off, and schedule is greyed out.
Happens with both BT on and with BT off. Craddled or not. So far WiFi is off too.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Peter
Also I noticed that once I enabled bluetooth..activesync disconnected from the PC (in the cradle) and tried to connect via BT. I see nothing under BT options. How can I disable AS over BT?

A few BT Niggles

Hi Guys,
Ive got a few BT niggles which im sure are easy enough to get round when someone starts getting some custom roms out but i cant seem to find a way around them at the minute, issues are:
- When phone is in standby (aka screen off) and you try and make a call via bluetooth car kit it turns phone and on says please unlock before making a call, if i turn the screen on before making the call it goes through.
- When you disconnect from car kit aka turn the car off etc it comes up with a notification and says its been disconnected and to hold the phone to your ear, this doesnt go away until you press dismiss.
None of these problems are show stoppers by any means but they are annoying when you just want to get in / out the car and making calls etc, aka i cant just get in the car and make a call, i have to turn the screen on first, and i cant get out the car and carry on as ive got to press dismiss on the screen as it keeps the phone switched on (screen on) until you press dismiss so i could accidentally press buttons etc plus will wear battery down.
If anyones managed to work these problems out then please let me know!
Cheers
Jas
Voice Command V1.6
Hi Guys,
I also have a problem with bluetooth... well voice command.
I had the TYTN 2 with WM6.1 working perfectly with VC 1.6 and so naturally assumed that TP2 would be the same, sadly I was wrong :-(
It doesnt even try to use the software, bluetooth connects perfectly but I cannot initiate VC with the usual hardware button.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I had the same problems - in an Audi A6 for what it's worth. On my TP2 had both a PIN device lock and the option to show owners info when switched on.
Disabled both of these, and it now works perfectly in the car. Not quite sure which was causing the problem and may reinstate PIN followed by Show Owners Info to try to isolate.
TP2 Brilliant phone - have been using a TyTn2 for the last 18 months or so which I also thought was exceptional.
desperately seeking BT DUN
Hi all,
I am missing to be able to connect my TP2 via Bluetooth to my Nokia mobiles (N73, 5800) which do not provide PAN or NAP profiles but only DUN.
I need to use the SIM-card in the Nokia for the data-only connection whilst using the SIM-card in TP2 for phone-only connection.
I tried all the tricks in this and other forums. Unfortunately the most promising approach ("New installation file for Bluesoleil drivers! " - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=251995) doesn't let me download the file.
Who got it to work? Who knows how to enable in the TP2?
thank you, Franky

Bluetooth shuts off on its own, even while connected to Samsung Gear Live watch....

Hey y'all - hope someone can help. I'm on stock, non-rooted, att note 5. It's been working like a charm all these months that I've had it. Except yesterday, spontaneously out of NOWHERE, the bluetooth just turned itself off. In fact, it was working just fine all day, connected to my watch, got into my car and it connected there just fine. Even had a bluetooth call on the car's speaker. Left the car, and THAT'S when it happened. The BT icon just turned off (from the notification drawer). I tap on it, and it doesn't turn on. So I go into the BT settings directly, tap on the toggle switch, I watch it turn on for a split-second, then it just shuts off.
Now, here's the weird part, when I boot into safe mode, it works JUST FINE. All that happened recently were app updates, like the android wear app, but I didn't see any settings in the update that would cause this. ANYONE HAVE ANY CLUE?!
PLEASE HELP!

Bluetooth connection

Is there a way to disable the annoying notification for connection lost between the Galaxy watch 42mm LTE (without esim for now) and Phone (SG S9).
If i walk 5-7 meters away from phone the watch pings and vibrates, and when coming back in BT range it is the same.
The function I think it should have is to jump over to wifi seamless and then back to BT. Is this possible?
Cheers

This is theory. In practice this does not happen so seamless
In Samsung App on the phone: connection settings you can set if you want to get notifications upon watch connection/disconnection
Yes, but is it possible to disable the notification?
on the watch, go to settings --> Connections. There should be a setting called ALERTS, toggle that off.

it took me a minute as well, he means to stop the notifications on the *watch* , the setting you supplied is for the phone.
On the watch SETTINGS --> CONNECTIONS --> ALERTS (turn off)

Thanks for your answers.
To clarify. I want to disable the "connection lost" and "connected to phone" alert on the watch.
NOT to turn off all alerts. There is a toggle for "connection" in the watch settings, but the watch still vibrates.

I guess I do not understand what you are looking for.
That setting has NOTHING to do with *other* alerts. The setting specifically says "ALERTS: Get BLUETOOTH disconnection alerts". This is for BLUETOOTH disconnection alerts and Bluetooth disconnection alerts ONLY. If you disable it, you will get NOTHING about Bluetooth disconnects, no sound, no vibrations, no screen notifications (aside from the small "watch" icon that appears at the top of the screen (near the 12 o'clock marker) that signifies "stand alone" mode. (I know because I use it).

Wifi status in quick settings always shows as off

The wifi icon in my Quick Settings bar is always grey at the moment (usually indicating the wifi is turned off). If I tap on it, it turns blue for a few seconds, then goes back to grey. If I tap and hold the icon it says that I am connected to my home wifi.
The issue also seems to affect my podcast app (PocketCasts). If I try to download a podcast it tells me that "You're not on wi-fi", and tells me that my data plan will be used. I have mobile data disabled.
I do appear to have a wifi connection, but the phone seems to be advertising the fact that it is not turned on for some reason.
Any idea how I can fix this?
I'm running build number QPN30.33.40 (I have checked, and there are no software updates available).
