T-Mobile bands...

I'm VERY concerned about buying this phone now. T-Mobile have only listed LTE bands 4 & 17 on their site.
International
Quad Band GSM; LTE: 4, 17; UMTS: Band I (2100), Band II (1900), Band IV (1700/2100), Band V (850)
What in the eff?
Des just answererd this question on Twitter: https://twitter.com/askdes/status/581568102015569920
It has:
GSM - 850/900/1800/1900
UMTS - B1/B2/B4/B5
LTE - B2/B4/B12/B17 with CA + B3/B7 roaming
This is the perfect T-Mobile phone.
So the T-Mobile version does not have 1700, and is therefore identical to the other models? Do we know if it includes wifi-calling, or if we would be able to flash the T-Mobile ROM onto the unlocked dev version?

But doesn't the AT&T, Unlocked, or Dev model include all of those bands and then some?

It does have 1700! That's Band 4, and for both LTE and HSPA.
The T-Mobile version also supports WiFi calling and texting. I have no idea if the T-Mobile firmware can be flashed to the unlocked version, but I don't see why it wouldn't be feasible.

T-Mobile (Des) confirmed: 2, 3, 4, 7, 12, and 17
AT&T lists: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 17, and 29 (adds +5 and +29)
HTC Dev & Unlocked versions (per HTC on Twitter): 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 29, 30 (adds +5, +13, +29, +30)
Maybe the T-Mo phone supports more that could be unlocked, who knows. The extra bands aren't useful to me.
Sorry, but I just want to clarify.
Do all versions of this phone support BAND IV UMTS or not?

HTC has done this on the past couple of phones. Only the T-Mobile phone will do their specific bands (HSPA+). On past models I don't recall anyone getting the ATT/DEV models to work with those T-Mobile bands. I don't believe we ever found out why. Some speculated it was due to cost to license all the bands, or that it is actually different hardware. The M7 and M8 were both like that.
If you are on T-Mobile, I'd get the model specifically for them.

Oh yeah I remember my Dev version being like that. Fortunately, I live in an area that has been upgraded to mostly lte. This was actually beneficial for me and maybe others in the same situation because it actually saves battery life when the phone isn't constantly switching between edge, 3g/+, and lte. I'm sure many others have been in an area that's barely out of lte but still within h+ range and it's still slow as edge or even slower.

Yes, it is OK if you live in a major area that has lots of LTE. Here just north of LA, I get into the other bands pretty frequently.
I am not sure this was answered? Do all versions of the HTC one m 9 support band 4 UMTS? Many ATT carrier unlocked models are for sale and no one seems to know if they will pick up the UMTS 1700 band 4 on T- Mo?

They will not pick up the T-Mobile specific bands, which use 1900/2100 for 41bps speed. They will work with the T-Mobile LTE band.
Wow, still a mystery. I have the AT&T SIM Unlocked One M9 and I have a TMobile prepaid SIM and get Edge, 3G, 4G, LTE Band 2,4,12...I cannot find an app that shows the actual WCDMA (4G) Bands ? But, it notates 42 MBPS when it says HSPA+ 4G using Network Signal Info-Pro App..and also shows 384 Kbps when it says 3G....
So, seems Des is correct unless the Network Signal Info Pro app is wrong?
I turned off everything except WCDMA, and this is what I get being reported by LTE Discovery. HSPA+ @ -113. I have a ATT unlocked M9. I do have the T-Mobile 2.11.531.19 firmware installed as well as the T-Mobile rom.
Using XDA to unleash the power of Android on my HTC One M9
Thanks but as I mentioned I cannot find an App that shows the WCDMA Bands to confirm. As you can see even LTE Discovery says N/A for DL and UL Freq...when on WCDMA...
The only App I can see that helps is Network Signal Info Pro...and unfortunately it is limited and shows me the below in my market;
HSPA+ 42.2 MBPS
HSDPA 7.2 MBPS
UMTS 386 KBPS
But, does not indicate which Band or Frequency ?
Anyone know of an App or Command that will show WCDMA Bands???

HTC M8 Dual SIM is it Possible to Change the Band to make 4G work in Switzerland?

How to know which LTE band?
Hi!
I know that this has been talked before, but I could not find anything that works.
I have bought a HTC M8 dual sim in switzerland. Back in Argentina, I tried to make 4G work, and, of course, it doesn't.
I have read that there is some chance to change the band, by the qualcomm.
so.. how do I know which band(S) does my phone have?
Thanks in advance!
I use "LTE Discovery" App. Available on the Play Store.

According to this webpage, it supports LTE bands 3, 7, 8 and 20. And according to list of LTE bands by country on Wiki, Argentina uses LTE band 4. So it makes sense that you don't have LTE.
While radios are typically interchangeable among "regular" GSM M8 versions (s-off required to flash radios); this is not true for the Dual SIM. So while you are correct that band support is software based on the Snapdragon 801, the normal method to change bands is to flash another carrier version's radio. I don't think you have another version's radio to flash. Some folks have modified the the NV values on the CDMA M8 to change band support. But to my knowledge, nobody has gotten this to work on non-CDMA versions of the M8 (the changes just revert themselves after reboot).
I suspect you are out of luck. This is really something you should have researched before buying the phone.

I kind of did. This is an fantastic mobile, besides the LTE detail; and by buying it in europe I've spent less than half of its price in Arg. pitifully.. I need the dual SIM. So, still a win win.
I will try to modify the NV values with QXDM... maybe i still have some luck left.
thanks =D

Telus M8 on lte band 2 (1900)

Hello. I have just bought a used telus htc m8. I live in Mexico and am on the movistar network. I can not seem to get LTE working. I only get 3G. They seem to only use LTE band 2 (1900), I check if the phone was compatible on that band before buying and it said it was, but now after investigating more I see there are different phones with different frequencies.
A couple questions:
How do I know what frequencies the telus version of the phone can pick up? I can not find any info on that version of phone.
If needed, Is it possible to flash a different radio to the phone, say at&t, which seems to support 1900?
Or am I wrong, and all gsm versions are the same? Which would mean it should pick up 1900 since it is listed in the at&t version. If that is the case what else coould I check? All obvious things have been checked: I am in an lte area, other phones around me have it. My sim is 4g. I have the wcdma lte auto option selected on the phone options, and my phone is completely updated.

Can the N. American version be used in GSM networks?

I may be being dense here, but I wanted to make sure because this is an expensive device. Can the OnePlus 3T North American version be used in GSM networks in Europe and Asia?
The spec page on OnePlus' site says:
Network
GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
4G LTE (Cat. 6)
North America model
WCDMA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17/30
CDMA EVDO: BC0
Europe / Asia model
WCDMA: Bands 1/2/5/8
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/3/5/7/8/20
TDD-LTE: Bands 38/40

Am I right to assume this means it comes with GSM out of the box, with modifications for CDMA depending on which country I am ordering it from?
Simply check which bands are available in countries you intend to use the phone in and compare that to supported bands.

So to clarify, let's say I am travelling to Singapore for instance, and they use GSM, I will be able to use my N. American version right because it also supports GSM along with the CDMA.

Exact frequencies of bands used are also important. The phone does support both GSM and CDMA, but you need to make sure it supports the right GSM bands.

So for example, GSM Arena shows a GSM band of 900 and 1800 in Singapore. That means it will work right? And thanks for taking the trouble to answer these newbie questions.

Yup, those bands are supported. 2G at both freqs and 3G and 4G at 900. So you're good to go

Question Force enable carrier aggregation outside us.

Hi everyone. Im wondering if this is possible for pixel 6 pro. Basically my unit is direct from us store which is G8VOU. Now im using it in Malaysia and 4g lte works fine.
Now im wondering if carrier aggregation is possible through root. Right now from what see through netmonster it can do 2ca on the same band(check screenshot). I think its aggregating two towers with the same band, i may be wrong though.
Anyone had any idea how to force enable multi band ca? The local sold phone can go up to 5ca which are mainly band 1, 3, 7 ,8. Thanks in advance.
I would also like to know
Is it not 4G+ an indication of currently using carrier aggregation?
Try to download NPerf app and click on speed test button. It will detect your carrier and mention it's currently on 4G+ or LTE-A
Another proof is below when you check in *#*#4636#*#* . Currently my Yoodo is on band 7 and band 3.
And Digi Malaysia only have 1 band which is Band 7
Digi - Malaysia - Wireless Frequency Bands and Device Compatibility
Digi (Malaysia) uses 2 GSM bands, 1 UMTS band, and 1 LTE band. Find out if your unlocked phone or mobile device will work with Digi (Malaysia)

Yes like is said. Mine is at 2ca indicated that im at TWO bands aggregated. Which is way below whats possible. Let me know if you have something that can help instead of just pointing out facts i already stated in the first post. Thanks.

I sometimes have band 3 and 8 as well. Just never 3 or 4ca at a time. Only up to 2ca max.
The modem decides aggregation.
