Hi, thanks for the info.
I have some questions:
- Are they free?
- Are they compatible with another voip (skype)?
- Are they big (or bigger than skype)?
Thanks again.
Arto
Just checking skype website.
They just launch the new version 1.1.0.4.
So, which one is better? stable? smaller in size?
I hope they are not "APRIL FOOL"
Best regards,
Arto
The new SJPhone works like a charm, unlike it's stubborn siblings. I installed it the day it was released. I'm using it with FWD. I have compared both Skype and SJPhone. My network seam to like Skype better I think. When I use SJPhone, the other party gets choppy receptions from me. Skype doesn't seam to have that problem. Maybe I have to tweak SJPhone a bit to get it running correctly.
Well, I try both already. SJPhone looks a bit difficult to setup. And the documentation .pdf on their website have a problem (I think).
I think I will still keep Skype on my O2 XDA II mini.
Thanks!
Best regards,
Arto

Hello all,
I'm a new user to the WM XDA Live 0.20 OS.
I flashed it yesterday and it's working brilliantly.
I had one question about a new feature that should be in WM6.
I read reports and messages that there should be a SIP client build into WM6
I read on Kyphur's thread (first post with all the in's and out's of his OS) that 'Internet Calling' isn't at all ready and included in WM6.
has anyone more info for me about this?
And when I need SIP client for my WM6, what are the experiences and reccomendations from the users here?
thanks.
btw. I think Kyphur (and the team) are doing a perfect job....
Hey,
a working SIP Client in one of the next XDA Lives Releases would be fantastic

Until the Native WM6 works, I am using SJPhone
.
Just to expand on the WM6 SIP Client.
At this point in time it is an incomplete product. There does not exist any configuration tools for it and even though there are a couple of .dlls we can't really confirm that they do to much at this point.
I decided not to include it because it they ever complete it we can always add it with a Cab file.
Kyphur, can you create the cab file? A few people with your Rom would like to assist in trying to get it to work and they have been asking how to enable it.
Thanks
The VoIP installer cab that I did can be found here
I got lower latency using x-lite v2.22 than sjphone. It is also not as resource-hungry as sjphone. Might be hard to find as i think it is discontinued but its out there ;-)
Hey, do you a have link for the v2.22?
I just can find v1.0
http://rs26.rapidshare.com/files/11745634/X-Pro_Softphone_for_Pocket_PC_2.2.2.rar
Thanks!
You really made my day
X-Lite won't work, but for some reason this Version works great.
Do you know how i can use a BT Headset with this?
Because right now it uses the speaker for the calls.
Where can i configure the sip settings when i installed the wm6 voip thing?

I use the cab found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=278778 to redirect the sound to my bluetooth headset.

Any chance someone could post a mirror, Rapidshare is saying the download limit has been reached.
Thx
Now that some time has passed, and Crossbow has gained a bit of ground, as well as some reviews and testers, based on your experiences, would you recommend Crossbow to the general public?
Also, a personal question, if I would like to use Messenger to share files as well, and a faster device, would you recommend crossbow to me?
Thanx in advance for your responses!
Crossbow on Universal is highly recommended.
At least, I can't see any reason to NOT recommend it over WM5.
Stable, fast, better features. Give it a go!
V
But there is no working video call in WM6 yet.
This can be solved, but unfortunately no developers have 3G in their area to test it
I have 3G here, I can test, but no software to test.
WM6 on the Universal? I wouldn't recommend it (yet). Most ROMs have a buggy wifi, email (resolved on some), mms (resolved on some), etc.
And as mentioned, no video call.
But if you don't need video call and wifi... Go ahead with Crossbow. You might wanna try Midget's or Ivan's latest.
Everything is working fine on crossbow, but, IMHO, the only glitch is the issues with WIFI like you cannot connect to wpa networks
Second issue is buggy video call
general impression positive. Things that I'm missing:
-wifi (wpa)
-phone keypad (still would like to be able text with one hand from time to time).
however I don't miss it much enough to get my previous ROM (not yet anyway).
I believe this are only temporary problems. Big thanks for such a good work.
I don't recommend it!
-First of all: NO VIDEO CALL.
-WIFI problem!!!!
-Quick rings FREEZE your phone.
-Outlook problems
So this week-end i'll downgrade to WM5..
WM6 it's VERY powerfull.. But we don't have a REAL working Universal ROM.
..That's a shame..

Everytime I install a new WM6 rom, then, after 0.5h playing with it, I m always back to my trusty WM5's ROM(see my sig)
i have the videocall option for 2 years on my contract.
since then i have 5-6 hours of free videocall that i never used because most people don't have videocall, and because it is much easier to speak on a BT handsfree than to keep the 300g monster in my hand, pointed to my face while walking on the street.
so, i don't realy understand the need of videocall.
but i need wifi very much.
now i am using the original ROM that camed with my spv m5000.
should i upgrade to a newer WM5, or should i stay with the original one untill the release of a WM6 with wifi support?

I think you have to ask this question to ROM cookers..
MY PERSONAL opinion is that we have to wait.
SO: don't lose your time....
HELP
how to get back to wm 5 from wm 6
Wass up guys and gals,
I've been happily using Imate Jasjar/cingular 8125 for the longest time but i just got the softbank version of HTC tytn. I must say that it feels very good using the tytn because of its size (specially if you are moving over from jasjar)
Anyways i upgraded my tytn to Schaps WM6 WWE version 3.54C but i am confused about the fact that my wizard still runs alot faster and stable then the tytn. i even get better signal on my wizard where as my tytn only gets 2 or 3 bars. I am also not able to play some vids in tcpmp even after trying this http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/htc-hermes/10022-updated-hermes-tcpmp-v0-81-unofficial-hybrid-media-player-all-codecs-here.html
Guys tytn is suppose to be an upgrade from wizard but it seems to me that wizard is a more stable device???
Let me know what you guys think about this and also are there any other ROMS better then the 1 i am currently running?? if so then pls do let me know u guys.
Thanks alot in advance
I'll be waiting for all your replies....
Farhan
Anyone??
Anyone ??
come on u guys, i would like to hear yr side of the story
Cheers
do you own a wizard with UMTS\HSDPA ?
I'm jocking , in many things you are right....
Well, I have not had the same experience. It is possible that some added apps you are running are causing conflicts. I would make sure you have the latest versin of whatever ROM you are using.
I have great stability with Black Satin and I hear that many are very good - Schaps (as you are using), VP3G, Sleuth (sorry if I missed any).
Try your rom with few other apps for a while and see if stability and responsiveness improve. Also, you probably do not want to judge reception based on bars, but rather by performance. Bars are just drawn on there - not really a strong indicator of reception quality.
Good luck.
Thanks alot for your replies u guys,
The only 3rd party software iam running is TCPMP and thats it nothing else.
I guess at this point my only and biggest issue is that iam not able to play some vids on tcpmp that played just fine on my jasjar
for example i have a 19 mb mpeg-4 clip that played just fine my on JJ but on my tytn it will play for about 5-10 secs and the gets stuck for 1-2 secs and so on...
I'll be a very happy man if there is a fix for this
Cheers
Anyone
Have you tried the ATIFix from Sleuth, take a look at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297717
And try to get a copy of CorePlayer 1.1, better performance than TMPCP...

I ran several different builds on my Wizard and am now running Schap's on my Hermes (have also run v3gp). In my experience the Hermes definitely runs faster.
I need to know how the two programs work on the Hd Mini. The first one is for registry and memory maintenance while the other one (Sjphone) is an excellent sip voip client. I use it on my dell x30 and I'm wondering if one or both this two great softwares are properly working on the HD Mini.
Thanks

No, I don't have it. I normally use it on a dell x30 waiting to buy an hd2 as soon as prices drop a bit more.
Hi guys, been a while since the 8525 days, now i'm looking at doing something new (to me) with my TP2. Anyone have a working life streaming solution? I've looked through and tried a bunch, and so far best I've been able to find is ustream or bambuser apps which work well on xdandroid FroYo (Can't get GingerBread to boot all the way..) other than the mike, they do not seem to pick up any sound. . .please advise
some stuff i found, but still no cigar:
http://www.similarsitesearch.com/alternatives-to/bambuser.com
http://mashable.com/2008/07/15/video-streaming-tools/
Thanks!

Do you want an Android or Windows Mobile solution? If you want an Android solution, you posted in the wrong section.
Well, either..I would like any solution that works on TP2; either on WM6.5, or XDAndroid runnin off my SD card (see top two threads in android dev). Maybe someone even knows a mike fix for the latter. Ustream is nice cause it includes chat capability in the mobile client, but neither it or bambuser pick up any sound.
I just tried Quik4.2 on WM6.5 and it works ok, but Quik kind of sux, crappy website features in comparison and there is no channel chat at all .

XDAndroid requires updated acoustic libraries in order to pick up audio when recording video. Please search before throwing people off on tangents like that.
