At this stage, for the sake of consistency, both PTT and NON-PTT Black ROM versions 1.1 will contain the same customizations/apps.
in version 2 of both rom flavours we are considering adding a voice commander/dialer.

Hopefully it will be easy to remove since Cyberion VC is probably the worst voice dialer on the market.

Cyberion VC...Yech...Just provide people with the cab so they can install it if they want later. I'd rather do my own thing with M$ VC 1.6.

I think I posted a similiar Remark in another of your threads, but I think If the "Cooks" creade a base OS, then a series of Cabs, that can be added.
eg.
OS + PTT + Video Call + Smart Dialer + Add Mod 01 .... etc. etc.
Then we just need a matrix of what is Mutually Exclusive and what can Co-incide..
My ideal would to get a ROM that does what my current 5 Rom Does and that is the , "OS + PTT + Video Call + Smart Dialer " as a bare minimum. As I use all of these every day..
Anyway, Just a Wish List..
Good work Guys, and thanks,
jasjamming...
While I know that it would make the file size huge, you might consider releasing an installer program that allows you to select what options you want, and then the program cooks the ROM right there for you to install to your handheld... it's just a thought. Maybe to keep file size down you can make it download the options when the user selects them.

Doode...didn't you read the first post. That is what this entire beta test is about...WM6 with PTT.
You're new and that is cool. The easiest advice I can give you about enjoying yourself @ XDA is to READ...READ...READ....READ...READ...READ....READ...
READ...READ....READ...READ...READ....READ...READ...READ....READ...
Start @ the first post of a thread and work your way through. You'll get to know people and you will learn a heck of a lot.
But you'll get banged up if you post stuff that ask the exact same things that have been aswered or don't read a thread.
You'll especially get especially banged up if you post a question that pertains to the very first post in a thread...or the title of said thread.
With that said...welcome to XDA. Don't forget to read. Then go to the wiki and read which is posted as a sticky in all of the the Hermes forums.

Yeah when this version is open to public send fifty bucks to my paypal account and I will gladly send you the link to download. LOL!!
Seriously though if you will just be patiant, they will release the link to download the rom as soon as they feel it is ready. As for making a donation, you could always donate to this forum or the creators of this rom could make a link for a donation for all of their hard work and efforts.
WM VI Black is the best!
Hats off to all those involved in making this rom.
Keep up the good work!
SORRY, maybe I didnt explain good enough in the post or it didnt come out right...I have read and read and read!!! I have been in these threads for years, I have installed wm6 and love it. I have not been able to find any .cab or registry edit for the ptt, I seen that this is a "closed beta" WITH PTT. I was just hoping that there might be a .cab or reg edit to use right now so I dont have to use the current wm5 that I have had to revert back to using for the ptt. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE WM6 ROM COOKERS OUT THERE!!!

no, there is no cab available as it requires certain system dll's that have to be integrated into the rom.... but i can assure you its being worked on...
For those who are having trouble with the OneNote Mobile that originally appeared in tripledes' 3.5 ROM and has been cooked into some other ROMs since, here's the deal. The two registry entries shown in red below were coded incorrectly in the original RGU such that "InstallPath" and "Attachments" were being created as subkeys instead of key values. The key shown in blue may be missing as well, but it's absence doesn't seem to prevent the app itself from working.
So the 1014 build of OneNote seems to work fine provided it has the proper reg entries. The one exception being the last remaining note isn't removed from the list when you delete it (an issue that was also present in build 1010).
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OneNote Mobile]
"Version"="12.0.4518.1014"
[COLOR="Red"][HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OneNote Mobile\12.0]
"InstallPath"="\Windows"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OneNote Mobile\12.0]
"Attachments"=""[/COLOR]
[COLOR="RoyalBlue"]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Windows CE Services\Synchronization\Objects\OneNote Note]
"Display Name"="OneNote Note"
"Store"="\Windows\OneNoteSyncDevice.dll"[/COLOR]
Cool, just tried it on CUSTEL 2.5, it works!
Thanks alot!
Using Custel2.5, how do I make these changes? Is this answered in the wiki?
OK. Nobody flamed me at least. What I meant to ask was, is there a registry editor included in this rom already or do I need to install one such as Total Commander on the 8525? Is TC compatable with the new WM6 roms with new builds, kernels, etc.? It seems like it's an old program to me. Sorry if these are noob questions but, yes, I am a noob and I will probably never be more than that. At least not at the present time in my life. Don't need to be spoon fed but a little advice doesn't seem like alot to ask. If I had the passion and time I could learn anything on my own, I have a very functioning brain. However, my time at the moment is mostly spent working 60+ hours a week, and rebuilding my home after Katrina the rest of the time. This is a hobby, my diversion. I do read the threads and the wiki but at the moment I also need to rely on you guys that are the pros. But, if you need to know anything about rebuilding a house after a major disaster, just ask. That's something I have become well versed in.
10 out of 10 to you vp3G Nicely done! I suspected it was registry related.
I believe the blue entry is needed if you want to sync OneNote with your PC.
@ezmike: For now, you need to use a registry editor. CUSTEL 2.5 has one built in (Taskman Regedit).
@Sleuth255: Yeah, that's what I think. I don't have Office 2007 anywhere but my Hermes, so I don't know for sure. I boosted that key from the desktop cab used to install 1010.

Anyway since your so damn good with office any chance you could make a cab that would auto install 2k7 over the regular office? I'll post shadow's office fix cab which has the reg entrys you need and DES posted the office files we need also.... you would be the man if you did that!

Yeah, I stumbled on the problem whilst cooking my own ROM last night. The cab you posted on the CUSTEL thread that installs the 1010 build is what tipped me off...

I don't think it's terribly likely given how Office Mobile is wired into the rest of the ROM. It's roughly akin to Internet Explorer on a desktop, IMO. I may give it a whirl if I feel really ambitious, though.
Thanks vp3G and austinsnyc. Much appreciation for pointing me in the right directions and for posting the cabs, etc. I really am trying to learn as much as possible, and guys like you are helping more than you will ever know. Thanks again.
This fix???
Ok, I'm sorry I must be dumb... I can't figure this out. I have tried the reg settings, I have installed the onenote files over and over and I still cannot delete any onenote files nor can I take a picture and insert it. It will also not sync with my desktop. I hope I don't get flamed, I have read all the post and most of wiki and still can't fix, can you please help.

Also, loves your HTCustom, nicely done!
so what is the correct registry edit to place in the registry for it to work? red is incorrect, and blue is missing. so I add the blue and what about the red?

Hey Ezmike.
FYI, TC works perfectly fine in WM6 (I'm currently on LVSW's build). I use it, not because it's the easiest or fanciest, but I'm a big fan of Christian Ghisler's and have been using TC on my desktop since about the time of Julius Caesar or so. Good luck with your home man!!!

Let me have the pleasure of being the first to thank you and to request that you include the voip you previously posted. It works great.
I also think that adding the utility Shaun33 created in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303493&highlight=sipgate
is a nice idea to include. There is no other way to configure the SIP settings other than creating an XML file, making it a cab and installing it. So this should complete everything needed to be able to use voip on WM6.
May I also suggest that we keep it simple as well, I mean not to overcrowd this little bugger with so many things after all.
Many thanks in advance and I look forward to seeing this ROM being cooked, I'm actually getting a little hungry
Cheers.

Hey Tom,
I think many of us would appreciate bug fixes before app additions.
I got this installed on my XDA Orbit today and works nicley but a few bugs. Such as When i turn wi-fi on, it comes on, but wont load any webpages, and acts like theres no connection, but its fully connected to my wifi at home.
Also the message alert pop up doesnt match the cool sleek design, its the old white and blue colors and looks horrible.
Maybe you should have a proper bugs thread and get these cleaned up before adding apps?
Thanks!
Had this idea to enhance the sleekness of the interface, not sure if you can incorporate this:How about changing the background in settings - programs to touch black and with white fonts?:. Or even if its possible assign the background image?... This would be all new
Tom, very cool I'm sure no matter how you cook this it'll taste good at the end
Cheers.
Hi Tom,
I've been following this thread since the beginning, the only thing that I miss is my native language support. I have a German HTC P3300 and would be happy to use it in that language, I don't even mind if the other addons are in English.
Apart from that, my critical apps are Wisbar Advance, SPB Mobile Shell and SPB Diary. But since those are all commercial apps it wouldn't be wise to include them.
How about a tutorial how to add custom apps or creating the ROM?

One thing I hate is always to reinstall all the apps I want on a new Rom.
Is it possible to make 1 cabfile for all the apps I want and put it in fe an extended rom? So after putting a new rom on my device it will install all the apps I wanted automatically? But I think if this works, the next problem will that I still need to register all the apps manually, or is there way to do this automatically too?
Cheers
Tom, thanks for all your good work sofar, great job.
When you ask 100 people which program's they like to include in the ROM, you probably will get also 100 different replies. So I second the idea of assembling a barebone ROM (so without one single extra program but hopefully with as less bugs as possible), and a tutorial so that everybody can cook their own unique personal ROM.
I would love a Reg Editor
international
Very good Tom !!
Like I said in the different thread I am ready to translate in french as you which ...
yep, like someone suggested above..make a barebone rom and at all the new faitures with extra cab files. I installed the first rom..then installed all my applications..then installed the second rom..yet again installed all my application etc.
so with every new rom, i can start all over again.
Just make a bare rom with just the essentials and let everybody make a wishlist
and let them choose the cabfiles they like to install.
looks more professional then
btw..great rom ..maybe now i keep my artemis instead of my daily hunt for the exclusiv benq p51 with sdcart, a full keyboard and 320*240 res.
Tom, in your new build can you remove the values from the 1 and 2 keys in HKLM/Comm/RTC/AdapterTypes leaving the keys in place that is please? This seems to have cleared out some issues in regards to voip as Sleuth255 has stated especially if they haven't been set in the first place.
Thanks.

Hi Tom, First of all Thank You for giving us Great ROMs.
-Some people like the V3 will be loaded with all the goodies.
-Some people don't, i hope you will be release the Vanilla version (No body Fat version). if you not going to release the Vanilla version, how do i uninstall the extra software.
I'm M700 user. in V2 I have an issue with appointment schedule.. its keep repeating itself. after i check over and over again.. its nothing to do with the reminder setup. probably a minor bug.
Other than that your ROM is completely THE BEST! M700 work flawlessly!
Thanks for evrything.
Hi TOM! Cobalt78 is right, why can't we translate it in french too. I got some files but I don't really know how to do it. If somebody can help me. I got some french files like PPC_FRA_GSM_VGA_VR.BIN but I don't know which one to use for translation.

very nice WM5 rom~
i can tell, this is the best rom i hv ever seen
bt sound quality can be perfectly compare with WM6
but if u can restore those icon like the battery status, comm manager, screen rotation, that will be more convenient for me
anyway , perfect roms, thanks !
i use KDSkamal WM6 Beautifull Edition. It is pure perfection !!!
there are some minore problems with the secured wi-fi, bluetooth headsets, but i love it and i will stick to it.
this WM5 should have everything working, right?
we should be able to use video call, add new email account, browse secured wi-fi, use bluetooth hendsfree, use voice dial etc, right?
is it 100% working, just like an official WM5 upgrade?

Unclear how to install this one. Build_copy.txt has instructions where to copy files from certain folders from the zip archive, but zip archive you uploaded does not have any folder structure, so its just a bunch of files, i can only guess which files to copy...
Code:
a. Copy \Bin\*.* to \Windows
b. Copy \Media\Canned text\*.* to \Program Files\SoftBankMail
c. Copy \Media\Pictures\*.* to \My Documents\My Pictures
d. Copy \Media\Sounds\*.* to \My Documents\
...

it's from the x04ht dump. the program is resolution-independent except ArcMSGRes.dll. i simply unpacked all the images and icons in ArcMSGRes.dll, made the image size of them half and repacked them into ArcMSGRes.dll. as for emoji, i did not test it since i don't use it...

it's a package for cooking, not for installing as it is. i am sure someone can make a cab out of it. i did not write Build_copy.txt. it was included in the diamond dumped package from the beginning.
there is one thing i don't understand yet. s!mail is integrated as sms in diamond, not as email. i haven't found which part of the dumped rom does the job. so, if you cook it in your rom, it is regarded as an email account...
For cooking? I thought someone made this for testing on other devices, before real cab is made. Maybe we should ask someone with X04HT (or X05HT?) what files are in these folders mentioned in Build_copy.txt in order to make cab. On the other hand, there is one or two xml files in the ZIP, and from there one could get a clue where to put the files and what are required registry settings...
Other interesting stuff, this seems to be Arcsoft MMS client modified for SoftBank... Would like to try this on english ROM as soon as i find some time. Also, i plan to get X05HT soon, wondering if they packed the same thing there as well.

?? all the necessary info to make a cab is already there... all you need is someone who has tools and knowledge to make it a cab. sorry, i am not interested in making a cab.
by the way, it worked fine on my japanese wm6.1 hermes.

If you have a second quotter (you seem busy), could you answer me a couple of questions?
1) (How) does this handle emoticons?
2) Does this allow sending MMS to a phone number?
3) Are there any other benefits compared to MMSLite that I can't think of?

1) no. Emoji seems to be supported by an extention program, which i have not found yet.
2) yes, but opensoftbank connection will be used.
3) i don't know. what i am trying to do is making a hermes rom like opal. i simply want to share my findings with other qvga device users.
by the way, i found it will insert sms/s!mail options in dialpad, which could mess up your dialpad menu unless you use appropriate dialpad...

Then, is there any real benefit of this solution over MMSLite, other than sending MMS to a phone number? I see none here. If we had emoji, maybe it could be useful...

Yeah, but that sending MMS to a phone number is a big deal, for me at least. Almost everyone I know using Softbank uses MMS-by-number and as things are now it is a hassle to reply to them.
Just to let people know that the Softbank mail setup under Arcsoft blows mmslite out of the water (and absolutely murders the old Softbank mail app). I too am therefore hoping that a cab will be released soon..... looking forward to trying it on my x05ht as well, with an English rom. Now, only if the emoji problem could be solved...
To Zgembo: Only advantage of X05ht over the x01ht is the screen resolution. As it is the stock Softbank rom generally sucks; it just seems a lot slower than the old x01ht, although it can be tweaked a little (not much though). Really, this is more due to crippled drivers it seems; so blame it on htc. See here before deciding whether to upgrade. Note: the Diamond and Touch Pro HD also suffer from the same problems.

yep, that was one of mmslite's weaknesses. I also hated having to copy the senders number from mmslite and then paste into the sms app to send a reply..... :-(

I was reading about X05HT's stock ROM crappyness, but who would like to stick to stock ROM anyway? Also, being Linux guy, it is really tempting, considering what some guys had achieved with Android on Hermes & Diamond so far. But the real reason for switching is that my X01HT is all but literary falling apart, the poor thing...

Yeah, but there are no graphics drivers for it, so it is more like using windows in safe mode. Does not matter which rom you use. Who knows if this will ever be fixed or not? (I am pissed off, because even flashed roms are slower than my Hermes was; GPS doesn't lock properly, music skips, etc).

you cannot install "this" package on any vga devices since i changed the resolution of all the images. just use the same package retrieved from x04ht/x05ht. for english roms, just make *.0409.mui's for the apps. shouldn't be much difficult since i have been making tons of *.0411.mui's to make full-japanese wm6.1 roms for my x01ht and polaris.
as for emoji, this "app" supports it on x04ht/x05ht. this "package" does not since the emoji function is supported by something else than the package.
I look forward to updates on this thread...
In the meantime, for those who want to send MMS by a softbank number there is an easier way to do it. Save the message you are writing into the Drafts folder, navigate to the folder, then move the message to the Outbox. It will send automatically (at least does on build 303 JP).
If anyone is skilled in writing mortscript it could be convenient here

Cool workaround. Worked for me, but is still a pain in the ass and shouldn't be necessary in a perfect world. Still, cool workaround.

thought this workaround was well-known. surprised that you did not know it...
Hey there,
I got a softbank X05HT from Japan, had to unlock it so it would work in Australia, HardSPL'd it, flashed a new ROM now I was looking for the Softbank ROM again so my girlfriend can use Japanese on it - can anyone direct me to the standard ROM for Softbank please?
EDIT: Actually, I'f prefer it to be in English so I can try to fix it when it has a cow from time to time... but she has many friends back home she's more inclined to keep in touch with... I've got NTAF's ROM and installed the Jap cab... but too hard to work it... probably rather have original ROM and add and English cab to it.. ta
