The reminder for the Tasks on my XDA IIs is pretty useless as you can only set the day you want the reminder to happen, not the hour making it a pointless tool if I want to add a task which must be completed later the same day.
Is there any way of changing this or am I stuck with adding tasks into the Calendar to get an accurate reminder time?
Change the default reminder time using your PCs outlook. This will become the default reminder time on the PPC.
OR Use Pocket Informant.
cheers

I have a few problems with the app and I was wondering if there was some remediation for them (including fixing my ignorance)
The automatic profile engages vibration mode during any calendar item, including free events
The weather doesn't auto update on its own, when I open the tab, it is either old or empty and starts to update then.
there is no snap back to the main tab
pressing the mail indicators doesn't take you to the account with new mail, it goes to the last account viewed
I have used HTC Home Customizer, but that mainly does colors and icons. I know it is free, but I'd like MORE from it for my convenience

First of all I use the standard/non mod HTC Home from this link, I also installed HHC from here.
I do not understand your first concern.
I guess with the second, it is a good point not wasting data when it's not needed, you only want to pull down data when required. So I actually like what it does and how it does it.
With the third concern, I put a device lock button and it snaps back to the home screen.
I have two email accounts set up for my device, one is a windows live, and another is a google apps account, basically Gmail via IMAP, so when I click on the mail it brings up the two accounts and let me see which one has the blue with 1 on it, indicating the mail box with new email.
Sorry can't be much help but just sharing what I experienced.
If I have an all day free event... like "Pay Day", it stays in automaic vibrate all day. If I delete the event, is switches to normal. It should only change into meeting/vibrate mode during "busy" events
I haven't found any switch back settings, where did you set that?
I have 4 accounts, 5 including sms/mms, so I have to page back and forth between accts looking for unread email. I suppose I can try to set the account picker as messaging start
I am now not following your 'switch back' function. I put device lock, and when I touch on that it locks the keyboard/screen and puts up the home screen
With events I set my diary and set it as 'free' it didn't interfere with the profile, but may be I have spb phone suite installed.
again I use the standard one and modified it with HHC.
Look at this! It might your profile that you selected.
I just uncheck that tab in the HTC Home options... Then I don't have to worry about it automatically changing my ringer to vibrate
I thought that I could just settle for HTC home, as it seems pretty light weight... but I need more functionality, so back to PhoneWeaver I go...and iLauncher I suppose
Hey y'all,
Heres the thing.
I have set my TMobile Vario 5 to check email every hour.
Its configured to vibrate when new email/texts arrive.
Thats all fine and dandy, EXCEPT! when im snoozing away in my bed and it starts vibrating on new email in the middle of the night and I wake up and cant go back to sleep. Such a silly nag!
So, for the while I have turned off vibrate for email altogether.
I notice on the Windows live client email sync schedule, you can totally just turn off checking at off-peak hours, while giving it a different schedule for peak hours! Nifty! But that only works for one hotmail/live account, and the next accounts you want to sync are configured against native WinMo email client.
Is there somehow a hack/app etc, whereby I can schedule WinMo native email client to sync only working hours for accounts as gmail/hotmail etc. In the sync schedule theres only options every x mins/hours and no peak/offpeak schedule.
All this cuz I'd want it to vibrate in my pocket on silent in the day on new email, and totally not bother me at night
Any body?
and Thanks in advance!
You're not using pushmail?
Can't you put the phone on silent?

Well excuse if this sounds sooper noob, but pushmail?
I have my work email synced via Exchange and its got a peak/off peak schedule.
As for the silent, that seems very logical only if I didnt want the alarm vibrate to wake me up in the morning!!
I'd also appreciate a solution to this. Not just for nightime, but, for example, if I'm driving and using as mp3 player and I don't want signal interference noise all the time cos checking emails. Or if I just don't want to be bothered.
Is there any way to temporarily suspend the email schedule (without having to go and change all the settings for each email account)?
Ditto!
There should be a sooper nifty single click way of turning off all auto email syncs and then turn on the same way!
Pushmail? As in in the communication tab "Microsoft Direct Push", I have it on all the time and when a new mail is received it is "pushed" to the phone. The phone isn't really searching for mail (which would be "pull").
I usually switch off the sound of my mobile during night because I don't want to be woken by phonecalls / text messages. I use G-Alarm as an alarm which overrides the silent profile of the phone.
You can schedule it through activesync.
start - all programs - activesync - menu - schedule - off peak times - adjust peak times
I just select my peak times to be be 7 days per week from 8am - 10pm.
Then for off peak I select manual. No more emails in the middle of the night!
I have gone to the menus, but everything is greyed out except for Status....any ideas as to why I cannot get to the Schedule tab?
OK - I have disconnected the phone from the USB connection and now just "Schedule" is grey!
You beat me to it!

Emailscheduler: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438970
Emailscheduler looks a nice app, but I just need a simple on/off for the scheduling and I don't think this does that. Also I got about 4 errors/restart demands in about 5 minutes, so I've removed it.
there is software from SPB Software, with help of WHAT you can set your SOUND preferences during day or depends on events, e.g. you can set to go in SILENT(or other melody/vibro) from 22.00 to 6.00 and he will do it automatically, and return back LOUD after 6.00 of morning.

Thanks!
Though EmailScheduler is currently a beta and some posts about it needing restarts errors..
But hey, might just be EXACTLY what I'm looking for.
Thanks so much!
Hi all.
I have a question. I have many Appointments in my Touch HD without Reminder. When i now flash a new Rom and then update my Appointments with Microsoft My Phone every Appointment have a Reminder from 15 Min before Appointment. Can somebody explainme why this is so or is there the possibility to change it ?
MfG Uro
I know this problem and I solved it like this way.
Start the WinMo Calender (not the HTC). Menu/Tools/Options
Disable the checkbox for "Set reminders for new items"
Then you can sync with MyPhone and all is ok. But it only works for me after a Hardreset.
If I set an alarm in calander it doesn't work.
If I set a reminder in tasks it does.
Any ideas?
All the settings are as they should be in the notifications tab.
It was working up until 2 weeks ago... and mysteriously does work if you set the reminder in outlook on the desktop. But if you use the handset it doesn't work.
Search for NOTIFY Queue or Notification Queue on this board.
Should fix that problem
Been offline for a while and signed in to check on new apps. Saw Birthday2Calendar and it seemingly solves one of the issues but in a roundabout way. Wondering whether there is another way.
For Bdays, Anniversary's, etc..., I schedule an all day appt., recurring the same day every year. The issue is that while the program (stock rom with SPB MS3) allows you to edit the start date it won't hold a date that is prior to the then current date. When that event comes up on the calendar, yearly, there is a (X) next to it where X is the number of recurrences since the entry of that event.
I either want to make that X value disappear or, better, get the program to accept a date in the past as the start date. How?
Suggestions welcome. Thanks.
Open the calendar entry in Outlook on your pc & change the start date there. Next time you sync, the correct age of the entry will appear in your WM Outlook Calendar.
