Is SPV M2000 Quad or Tri band? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Looks like orange doesn't know... :?

:!: :!: :!:
Does anyone here know?

I've just rang Orange, the FAQ in front of them reads Triband. But the latest newsletter says Quadband.
They just don't seem to know!!!

The future is bright the future is mulitband, 1 2, 3 who cares if its bright (hi hi)!
Me I would tip on 3 like the rest of the Blue Angles but I have know to be wrong.

blue angels are quad

Ta AdmiralAK!!! Who said I can count and we all know I cant spell!

I eventually got thru (took 30min) to "technical" at orange, they say its triband!!! All quadband info are misprints!!!
I personally believe it to be quad, but it is a bit wierd...
It doesn't inspire confidence in orange at all.

I now think that its TriBand for voice, but the 4th band is GPRS!!!
Look at HTC's own info here:

Sources for used Blue Angels

I'm looking to upgrade to a Blue Angel from my Wallaby (for Cingular US). Looking for a good (and legal) source for a gently used model I can use w/ Cingular. (They are selling it as the Siemens SX66.)
Any suggestions?
TIA,
Mike

How about eBay???
Use Blue Angels
I'm looking on eBay abd a few other auction sites but the deals there are not as good on something that's hot like this. I've seen the SX 66 go mostly for the lower $400. It never hurts to try and get better.
That and the heat is off for a while since I was able to get my SX56 working again.

XDA IIs, MDA III or M2000?

if buying a blue angel in the UK, which version is the one to shoot for?
looks aside, (O2 looks better in black) which provider offers good tech support + software support over the others?
I hear O2 getting slagged on a regular basis when it comes to component replacements for example, particularly where whistling screen faults are concerned. does t-mobile or orange win out here?
I know the O2 asis rom is supposed to be quite nice but are people finding MDA III from tmobile or M2000 orange more reliable out of the box for example. are tmobile slow at software releases, are orange, who's tend to be better?
I've decided on a blue angel over a IIi but nothing hurts to poll for a bit of opinion and see which Blue Angel has advantages over other types. I've read the wiki and while I found upgrading my XDA 1 and cooking rom's for it doable, I don't feel confident thus far at repeating the feat on the Blue angel so am looking at an off the shelf blue one for now.
can people give me a precis of their experience here that allows me to make an informed choice.
thanks
I've always found Orange to be the best provider, last time I was with them they actually have people at the other end of the telephone who want to help. They also didn't charge you for calling customer services (which I just found out T-Mobile do. Cheeky bastards).
I'd avoid O2 if possible, but I think all mobile phone operators suck, so I'd get it from whoever has the cheapest handset/plan for you.
Upgrading the ROM means all the phones are the same.
Chris
I've had XDA and XDAII from O2 and CS was OK when you actually spoke to someone who knew anything about the XDA models. Billing was an absolute nightmare though!
I've had MDAIII from T-Mobile since last October. Customer services are very helpful (and Free). CS have spent hours on the phone with me when I've been trying to sort out problems with unsupported upgrades from the internet and have even phoned me back on a landline so we could tinker with the MDAIII and talk at the same time.
The device is very stable out of the box. Only upgrade so far has included the Blackberry client which I use constantly and it only costs £10/month for 50mb of data. They have crappy GPRS tariffs though.
I've got Orange C500 and never had any problems with CS, but then I've never really had any problems with the C500.
I think Orange is the best provider, the support is excellent, plus if you look at the orange developer site you can see whats happening.
But I bought the O2 XDA IIs (for the black) and unlocked it. I now run the i-mate 1.40 ROM on it, with the O2 Plus add-on.

Got a Vodafone TP2..and questions :-)

Hi all,
Got a TP2 from Vodafone UK this week. Realy liking the device so far, infact it's probably the first WM phone I have used in ages that I have not splattered with apps just to make it usefull!
My main gripe with Vodafone so far is that the colour scheam they have shosen for the TouchFlow is 'Vodafone Red' with black so the message count bubbles are totaly unreadable!
Anyway, one strange this with this device is that I seem to have lost the ability to use HTMP email format and also the ability to flag messages etc... I have been told that this is a Vodafone 'thing' so that you want to use their email services... So does anyone know how to turn this back on ???
Thanks
Sci Fi
I have a few questions if you don't mind:
Is the actual phone Vodafone branded in any way, or is it just the software?
Also, did you get it from a Vodafone shop, or was it delivered to your home?
I'm interested in getting one from Voda soon, what deal did you get it on, and did you have to pay much for the handset?
Cheers - hope you're enjoying the phone ;-)

No, it's HTC branded just voda build of the firmware....for now
Got it delivered direct from Voda, Most of the high street shops will not stock them because of their value
No idea on deals because it is on my company package so it works totaly differently
Hope this helps.

Mine should have been delivered from Vodafone today, but it has been delayed until tomorrow.
I got it from the Vodafone business site and it is available for free on any tariff from £30pm (+VAT) I'm getting 500 mobile minutes, 250 texts, unlimited internet and unlimited landline calls - or I will be when it turns up!! It is shown as coming soon on the site but if you eing up they have them in stock
Someone on Beasty's "A Dream just walked in" thread got theirs yesterday and it has a Vodafone theme and a little Vodafone sign on it apparently. I will let you know what mine is like when I get it
Seems very tempting, I may leave T-mob for this!
Do you know what the Vodafone business support is like if the phone goes faulty? I know with T-mob I got next day swap-out, and wonder if Vodafone offer this too?
Also, do you know if it's supplied unlocked?

Got mine from Vodafone yesterday and it is dual-branded. HTC at top of screen and Vodafone at the bottom. I agree on the colour scheme as I changed my Pro to black, but the calendar is different on the Pro 2 and I can't seem to find a suitable alternative - any suggestions appreciated.
BTW, my initial impressions are that this phone is a BIG improvement on the Pro and well worth the upgrade.

My TP2 has FM Radio as standard

Afternoon guys,
maybe im a bit late with this info lol, but skimming thru the thread about the FM Radio, my Vodafone TP2 comes with FM Radio as standard...
And yes you can choose output...Headphones/Speaker
OMFG its unlocked too...
Woohoo!
Whats weird is on the Voadfone website the phone is silver, my keyoard is silver and face is black!!!
Vodafone man said it would be all silver...
Have i got a "special" unlocked phone, or do Voda provide unlocked TP2 as standard???
*Nvm just realised they come unlocked as standard, awesome
Yeh looks like my Vodafone TP2 has the FM Radio application as well
lolololol
Does that mean I just bought the unlocker for my Vodaphone TP2 for nothing?
lolololol
I did it before testing another SIM - got the device and just paid Olipro's service then unlocked...
Lol
I have had so much soft from him I am happy to pay so its no biggy.
Just makes me realise what a total prat I can be sometimes......

Engadget did not mention it (but they are part of the apple PR).
Any official statement yet?
[Q] Will this work with T-Mo?
I've recently been debating a switch to Sprint so I could get an Evo. However, the Desire HD has stolen my, well, desire.
I'm wondering if this will work on T-Mo though. Here's what I got from the HD product page on htc.com:
* HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz
* GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
According to wiki, T-mo "uses the GSM/GPRS/EDGE 1900 MHz frequency-band" and "1700/2100 MHz AWS Band for its 3G network."
So, forgive me for being a dumbass when it comes to network stuff. I see they match on 1900 GSM and 2100 HSPA. That means it'll work, right?
Also, HSPA+ isn't another band is it? I know the processor in the HD is HSPA+ capable.
Super excited about this phone. I just hope it'll work with my current service.
NM. Just figured it all out. It won't work.
Mods you can delete this.

it will work. t-mobile work with HSDA 2100 only, the phone and all the 3g phones support it, so it will work fine, BTW, if you will go to tnt that work at 850/2100 HSDPA - then you will no always get full 3G.
Release date - october??
I heard that release date will be - OCTOBER?
great...
Somebody knows the price in Europe?
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_announces_froyopowered_desire_hd_and_desire_z-news-1937.php
Play.com is taking pre-orders for the Humble price of £459.99..Due for release on the 13th of October..
Unlike Expansys who are taking it for £499.99...
I always wondered does anyone still buy from Expansys any more. They thoroughly abuse their leading position, I think they are going to lose it (or have lost it already?) very soon.
Modaco is also selling it for a reasonably good price considering the extras.
http://android.modaco.com/content/a...now-available-to-pre-order-from-superetrader/
The last time I bought a phone to Expansive, my Blackstone when it came to streets, they were selling it a bit cheaper than MRSP price and the same to the HD2...
But now, they are becoming a lot greedy and are selling phones at the same MRSP prices...
By the way, does anyone knows if there's going to be a page on the wiki for the best selling prices of the Desire HD??

SLCD, has been confirmd by some website.
€549,- NEtherlands
http://www.pdashop.nl/product/10757...ntpageitem1&utm_campaign=frontpageproductinfo
According to a source, the specs of the device found in the official PDF in HTCLON it appears to be an LCD, while on the Desire Z they did mention it's SLCD.
Which website confirmed it's an SLCD?
Play.com £469.99 due to release 11th October. Bought sgs for £400 will have to get on contract, My contract is coming to end in Oct hopefully will be available to T-Mobile by then. I hate Vodafone, terrible customer services.
Anyone know which network will be getting it first?
Yep. It is just an LCD instead of SLCD. You can easily notice this in some videos available in youtube. A let down imho.
EDIT: Ooops! This video says super LCD so SLCD? Let's wait and see.

6th of October on clove uk, i get my pre order now.
According to GSMArena and HTC.com, it's a TFT 16M Colors display. Not AMOLED/SLCD or any other ****...
According the HTC Global Communications Director it's SLCD.
