[Q] Will this work with T-Mo?
I've recently been debating a switch to Sprint so I could get an Evo. However, the Desire HD has stolen my, well, desire.
I'm wondering if this will work on T-Mo though. Here's what I got from the HD product page on htc.com:
* HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz
* GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
According to wiki, T-mo "uses the GSM/GPRS/EDGE 1900 MHz frequency-band" and "1700/2100 MHz AWS Band for its 3G network."
So, forgive me for being a dumbass when it comes to network stuff. I see they match on 1900 GSM and 2100 HSPA. That means it'll work, right?
Also, HSPA+ isn't another band is it? I know the processor in the HD is HSPA+ capable.
Super excited about this phone. I just hope it'll work with my current service.
NM. Just figured it all out. It won't work.

it will work. t-mobile work with HSDA 2100 only, the phone and all the 3g phones support it, so it will work fine, BTW, if you will go to tnt that work at 850/2100 HSDPA - then you will no always get full 3G.
Release date - october??
I heard that release date will be - OCTOBER?
great...
Somebody knows the price in Europe?
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_announces_froyopowered_desire_hd_and_desire_z-news-1937.php
Play.com is taking pre-orders for the Humble price of £459.99..Due for release on the 13th of October..
Unlike Expansys who are taking it for £499.99...
I always wondered does anyone still buy from Expansys any more. They thoroughly abuse their leading position, I think they are going to lose it (or have lost it already?) very soon.
Modaco is also selling it for a reasonably good price considering the extras.
http://android.modaco.com/content/a...now-available-to-pre-order-from-superetrader/
The last time I bought a phone to Expansive, my Blackstone when it came to streets, they were selling it a bit cheaper than MRSP price and the same to the HD2...
But now, they are becoming a lot greedy and are selling phones at the same MRSP prices...
By the way, does anyone knows if there's going to be a page on the wiki for the best selling prices of the Desire HD??

SLCD, has been confirmd by some website.
€549,- NEtherlands
http://www.pdashop.nl/product/10757...ntpageitem1&utm_campaign=frontpageproductinfo
According to a source, the specs of the device found in the official PDF in HTCLON it appears to be an LCD, while on the Desire Z they did mention it's SLCD.
Which website confirmed it's an SLCD?
Play.com £469.99 due to release 11th October. Bought sgs for £400 will have to get on contract, My contract is coming to end in Oct hopefully will be available to T-Mobile by then. I hate Vodafone, terrible customer services.
Anyone know which network will be getting it first?
Yep. It is just an LCD instead of SLCD. You can easily notice this in some videos available in youtube. A let down imho.
EDIT: Ooops! This video says super LCD so SLCD? Let's wait and see.

6th of October on clove uk, i get my pre order now.

Hey guys,
I was planning on buying the S620 Excalibur. But I came across the follow websites stating that the successor, the S630 (cavelier) will be selling in June 2007.
http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2007/01/16/unboxing-htc-cavalier/
http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=676
This model also has UMTS and HSDPA as well a a 400mhz cpu instead of the 200mhz from the excalibur. And some more adjustments which you can see in the links.
UPDATE: IT's available

As of Wednesday the 5th of September you can order the HTC S630 With windows mobile 6!!! Finally.

Thanks,
Dopod have announced their model in Asia. No news on US/Europe release of this.
The S620 is doing very well in their respective markets as well. With WM6 coming out soon for the generic WM6 there may not be a big demand for this model. Rumors months back indicated this model was actually cancelled.
I guess we will see...
The Cavalier was effectively vaporware until recently when Dopod decided to sell it. However, it won't be on sale until July if I recall correctly.
In July, most likely, more companies will pick it up. It seems to be a worthy upgrade to the Excalibur but it was announced soon after the Dash was released resulting in rampant speculation.
It's Finally There

Just remember, the Cavalier does NOT have 1700mhz if you are looking for a Dash replacement on T-Mobile USA. So, it is not a universal replacement.......
Please excuse my ignorence. 1700Mhz.. is this a band allocated for upcoming T-Mo UMTS in USA?

Yes - that is the frequency that T-Mo is using for UMTS
So I'm looking around for a Rhodium to pick up, and find out that (at least that I've found) don't have the 3G network data for the US... just every other country >_>.
I *really* want this phone. I have a tilt and this is the next logical step. However, the ATT version has a crap keyboard, so I want the original model. So my question is: Is it possible to manually update the 3g network data for US usage? It's kind of pointless to spend over 600 bucks on a phone that I can't use to it's full potential.
Second, anyone know where I can pick one up less than 600 bucks?
usually it has to do more with hardware rather than software, so you're out of luck. Less than 600, more likely it will be a used one off of here or ebay.

No it´s not possible
I understand your concern, on my case is the same or buy the beautyful european version without american 3g or wait till some american carrier bring it and with the diferences like keyboard, color, etc...
I am just about to decide to buy the europe version, just will wait till July 22nd as that date aperently att&t will have it on sale.
As for the price, if you want to buy an european version there are plenty sites with good prices like clove uk
Let´s see what happens?

from what has been posted on this forum, the at&t version does not have a crap keyboard. your probably talking about that picture that shows a red one with a jacked up keyboard. That is NOT the at&t version. Somebody here on this forum saw an at&t version in person and said that it has the same exact keyboard layout as the unlocked version.

Orly? Yeah, I was talking about the one with the red keyboard (the red was cool, the 10-key was not >_>). If that isn't the ATT model, then what IS it and why is that picture out there?
If the att version is standard keyboard, then I'm all about getting one from att with (hopefully) US 3g.
Thanks for all the replies!
That was a mock-up picture. If you look at the slide it says 5-Row QWERTY but the picture of the phone shows a 4-row QWERTZ. I also doubt they would keep that hideous red color.
Hi,
I'm from Germany and want to buy the Sprint HTC TP2.
Now I found some pages that say i cannot use the phone here.
Because it has quadband i think i can use gsm here, but i don't know wether umts in Germany is fully supported.
Sprint homepage says it's an international phone, but i don't know much about the frequencies of umts and else.
Why I didn't buy the phone in Germany?
Here it costs $700, the Sprint version has a audio output (3.5mm), so i donÄt need any adaptor, and i like the full black hardware keyboard more than the silver german one.
So, what's about the umts and gsm frequency in Germany and would be there any problems?
Thanx,
CrossFire
Forget it mate. Sprint is a CDMA network. It won't get any signal at all in Germany since Europe ONLY uses GSM.
By the way, I bought my phone for 519 Euros in Germany. And unlike the US variety, it comes with warranty that's actually good in Germany and I have my two years of Gewährleistung that you don't get when you buy it abroad. Considering how expensive the phone would be to replace or fix when it breaks, you might want to make sure you can actually make use of the warranty coverage.
Alternatively, buy it from China. It's about 380 Euros there, but at least it's GSM. Mind you that shipping costs and particularly import taxes and duties make the price difference between a domestic and an imported device rather small. I don't think it's worth losing the warranty

Actually, the CDMA touch pro 2s are all world phones capable of quadband GSM/EDGE in addition to Euro 3G (2100mhz). The Sprint branded phones are sim-unlocked, but they just can't use US carriers like T-Mobile USA or AT&T.
I'm not guaranteeing that it'll work, but it should in Germany.

afaik, the sprint version should work just fine in Germany. It does have 3G GSM, and as long as you don't try it in the US you will be fine.

My mistake. I have to say that there is no clear indication on either Sprint.com, HTC.com or Microsoft.com that says that GSM features the phone has. However, I checked the Sprint manual for the phone and it turns out it does support GSM.
Am I right in saying that GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS will work, but HSDPA/HSUPA won't?
xanthene: Just for future reference, if you are in need of a full detailed spec list, you can always visit www.pdadb.net. They always have a very comprehensive list with details on the phones that will be and have already been released.
I am living in Japan and I definitely want to buy the new HTC 10.
I am concerned thus that I could have problem to root it or unlock the bootloader since it's my first time to buy a phone here in Japan, not sure if that could be a problem.
I was considering to ask my friend to send it to me from UK, to have a European version.
What do you guys think? Would it be fine if I buy it here then root it as I always did?
Thanks in advance!
In Japan, too, and will be snapping this baby up hopefully when Au releases it in June (my guess, based on past summer releases and what I have seen on HTCsoku). I've had no issues unlocking and getting s-off on HTC phones (Desire then the M7, my current phone) here in the past, so I don't see why we'd have any issues this time. Hopefully, we'll get some joy from Sunshine soon enough and can find out for sure.

I was a bit concerned as I own a UK M8 now with a BiCSim provider sim card, but it seems like I cannot get a 4G signal, as I don't have band 1 unlocked on this phone.
For this reason I was a bit worried, you never know...
Just out of curiosity, what kind of ROMs are u flashing on your HTC? I mean, is there a thread specifically made for Japanese phones/ROMs?
Thanks again!
No probs. It's early days yet for everyone, things being tested, guides being made, so keep an eye on the forum. Very few people even have the phone at this point, and we are still at least a month away from Japan release. Be patient, grasshopper.
I have TWRP and still have stock on my old M7. Was easy-peasy. As far as Japan-specific phones go, in the past they have basically just been one or two sub-threads within the particular phone's forum. There are a few XDA folk based in Japan, but not so many HTC users - who knows, I haven't fiddled with my phone for almost two years, so there may be more these days). Best idea is to keep an eye out here and on local HTC fansites (like HTCsoku, as I mentioned - you might need Japanese ability to get the most out of them, mind you).

HTC in Japan
Also living in Japan. I have the HTC One rooted with Android Revolution HD 92.0 installed. I have a Rakuten Mobile sim card and LTE works fine (when available which is not at many places).
I am also planning on buying the HTC 10. I haven't yet found the detailed differences between the different versions but the Asian version may be preferable to the European version (at least that's what I decided for the HTC One).

This is the only thing I am worried infact, because my M8 currently doesn't work with LTE here, but is basically a 2 years old phone, at that time 4G was still kind of new.
For a while I will keep looking..
I should have looked better: there are apparently only two versions available, US and EMEA (see here: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_10-7884.php).
For Japan, the bands available are not that great.
Docomo is mostly on bands 1, 3 and 19.
AU on bands 1, 11 and 18.
Softbank on bands 1, 3 and 8.
The HTC 10 EMEA version is on bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40 and 41.
The US version is on bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 20, 28, 29 and 30.
If you are on AU, you have only one band available whatever the HTC 10 version chosen.
If you are on Softbank, the EMEA version has all three bands covered.
With Docomo, either versions are possible (only two bands covered)
This was my main concern, if the HTC 10 EMEA would cover the LTE signal or not, hope it will work with my BiC SiM card, I am using Docomo carrier.
I am wondering if 2 bands are enough for a decent LTE signal thus, but if we really will have only 2 HTC 10 version, it should work..

So... anyone in Japan purchased and rooted the HTC 10 (HTV32) yet? Just about ready to make the visit to the AU store and say sayonara to my M7. I have been looking for experiences on unlocking and rooting on Japanese sites... can't see anyone having done it as yet. I am guessing jcase's method (sticky on the HTC10 forum) will work with this one just as well, but always nice to see others do these things on the exact same version of device prior to diving in yourself (well, for relative noobs like myself, it is less nerve-wracking!)

best deal at gearbest
You can buy at gearbest with 12 months warranty versus 6 months for less money, 164 euros with promo code "CellPhones8"
Hope it helps
I am a little confused here.
Both TD and gear best carry the 1 pro. Gearbest shows that the phone has band 7 (2600) and until today, tiny reflected that as well.
6 days after ordering from tinydeal, I have received an email from them stating the phone does NOT support band 7. Every other seller and device specification site says bands 3&7 are supported.
Finding official documentation has been a bit of a daunting task.
Advice, anyone?
I'm kind of confused about the phone, too. There seem to be three models floating around in stores, a regular one with bands B1/B3/B7/B38/B39/B40/B41, one with B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B12/B17/B25/B26, and an International one with different bands listed as well. Yet the manufacturer only seems to list the B1/3/7/38/39/40/41 model. Is this true? Does the second model I listed with B2/4/5/17 have full AT&T LTE support in the US?
Im really not sure. Too many conflicting reports. I think I'm going to cancel my order in the morning. I asked about the bands on the official tech support Le forum, and they referred me to their Hong Kong forum while completely dodging the question.
Update: A forum moderator sent me to the 'official' sales site here: http://cn.lemall.com/le_1pro/parameter.html
Three variants listed. All three have the same FDD-LTE bands of 1/3/7
In today's email from tinydeal they told I that the phone ordered supports B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B12/B17/B25/B26.
I'm kinda torn now.. at under $200 it's not a huge risk.. But I'm already kinda tired of dealing with the crap of finding just the basics on this device. How much harder will it be when I have it in hand and need to do something more advanced?

I'm kinda torn now.. at under $200 it's not a huge risk.. But I'm already kinda tired of dealing with the crap of finding just the basics on this device. How much harder will it be when I have it in hand and need to do something more advanced?

I just received mine from Coolicool today. Popped in my Cricket sim card and LTE Discovery lists me as being connected to Band 17 right now. This must be an updated model, as it appears that the newly listed bands are correct. Maybe this is a sign that they're actually moving forward with releasing the phone in the US? If anyone suspects that LTE Discovery might be wrong, please point me to a better utility.
For the record, I purchased mine from Coolicool. As of today, all of the other models have been removed (the two with the different bands listed and the international version) and this is the sole model up for sale. It won't allow me to post a link because I'm new here, but it's the featured product on the upper right side of the screen.

The option is missing from the first menu. The second menu says CDMA and has a box you can check. I have no way of knowing what it did or if it works, as I don't live in an area that using Band 20. All I know is that I'm definitely getting Band 2 and 17, which haven't been available up until this new batch started shipping out apparently. The specs on the site I bought from specifically says no Band 20 support, so I'm guessing this doesn't work.

Update: A forum moderator sent me to the 'official' sales site here: http://cn.lemall.com/le_1pro/parameter.html

Have you got it yet?
Does the 3 and 7 bands work?
I received one today, bought in Tinydeal and can confirm that it works in the band 4 Tmobile.
Can you please share your experience with the new phone. Battery, hit, camera, games for more than 30 min.
Thanks

I cancelled the order, ordered another from gearbest that did indeed work on bands 3&7 ( 7 being the important one for me - Free mobile in central France). Sold it after a couple days because the phone was just too damned big and the software was a mess.
Actually thinking of buying another one as a spare. My Nexus 5 did something wonky yesterday and I don't want to have it fail and get caught in a situation where I don't have a phone.

Did you order the same phone from gearbest?
I bought it from gearbest and in 5 days it already arrived
The software is a mess, so i installed cuoco92 rom
I looked on all official LeTV/ LeEco sites (Global, India, HK, China) but don't seem to be able to find an "international version". Does anyone know where to find official information rather than from resellers?

No, I decided not to order another one. I thought I could get past my dislike of 5.5 inch phones, but just too big for daily use for me. 5.2 inch seems to be the sweet spot, so that's where I'm focusing my attention at the moment - though that is presenting it's own set of challenges.
I'm using a nexus 5 at the moment. I would like a little better battery life and a little larger screen, but I'm not dying for a new phone at the moment.
If I do find myself in a spot where I have to replace my phone and I can't find a 5.2 inch that checks all the boxes (big one being budget), I'll probably just stick with a 5 inch phone.
Right now the top two are the xiaomi mi4c and the huawei p8.
I would rather go with an Mi5 or P9 but they're out of my price range.

I don't think an official international version exists. At least thas what I gathered from talking to some LeTv support people on their forums. Everything sold outside of HK/China and India is considered gray market, as far as I can tell.
