I'm trying to add pauses to my international numbers so that I can use my corp. calling card. I found that the "," works but only for numbers in my area code. Once I try to call outside my area code or try calling an 800 number (like the one for my calling card) I can't get the pause to work or it to dial any number past the 10 numbers, e.g. 808-555-1212. I can make international calls with no problem, but I can't get the pause followed by a calling card number to take.
Any thoughts? I'm running the PDA2K.
Thanks,
Tom
Try "p". Working fine for me with my SPV M2000.
e.g. 18001234567p5551234567
I just tried that....didn't work. p in between the numbers. I have an PDA2K if it matters. Maybe it's a Windows thing.
Thanks for the thought.
Tom
This is a great little App for letting you use your existing contact info along with pin numbers and aotumating the whole process. I cant use it on the plan I am using now because there are too many levles on the IVR. But I might work for you:

Is there a seperate WM6 VOIP cab available somewhere? I don't see the suggested files, so I assume that I don't have it on my WWE WM6 rom.

Well, as you may have noticed I've found those threads, but I saw that the most of the thread is regarding HERMES.
I was wondering if anyone with an Artemis has been able to turn on VOIP (native voip)
I did manage to install the package as mentioned in the threads above, as well as put in the right config files. Also, the "Internet Calling: Available" today plugin is correctly displayed. However, I cannot switch dial pads and I don't get the correct status (connected).
Same problem here
Setup was done with Sip Config Tool 2.0.1
The plugin is configured : "Always, if available"
When connected by wlan or activesync the plugin displays : "Kein Empfang"
Disconnected from network displays : "Available"
Hopefully someone can help me
Guys I've got it working just fine on an xda orbit. There does seem to be a little bug though and that is when it's says "Searching" and "Available" on the today screen. Available actually means searching and searching means available
When searching is displayed, click on it in the today screen and you might notice a slight change in the signal which means it has switched to voip rather than gsm. Go to the phone screen and you'll see that the network has changed to your voip provider and any call you make will be routed through them.
I have downloaded sjphone yesterday and configured it to use my sip voip provider and it works brilliantly. The sound quality in sjphone is absolutely brilliant compared to the native voip, you should try it.
Finally it's working...
I tried to deinstall the plugin and after prompting an error it worked
The homescreen plug signals "searching" but as you said before it means "availabe". There are still a couple of things:
1) no incomming calls... i can't find the stun settings
2) +4930xxxxxx format doesn't work, i've to type 030xxxx
3) doesn't work after standby
Which version of sjphone are you using? There seems to be nothing available for wm 6
Hi BlueD,
I'm glad it's working for you. I tested incoming calls and that worked nicely as well without configuring any stun. The voip I used were sipgate and callcentric.
There's a post somewhere on one of the big voip threads and the guys managed to customize the dialing plans so that you can dial without using the international format. Do a quick search on voip dialing plan and you should find it somewhere.
Well obviously it doesn't cause the wifi disconnects, hence making it only useful for dialing out rather than receiving calls, except ofcourse if you want to leave the device on all the time, but that's not a very feasible solution.
The sjphone I downloaded was the one for v.1.60.303c Pocket PC 2003SE, it works nicely with excellent call quality. I also think you don't really need native voip capabilities to run that, which makes me think we could have had this on WM5 hmmm...
OK.. just fyi - i got a little bit more success in using the native VOIP solution. I had to flash from the WWE 6 to the BnB 2 ROM, then install the VOIP.cab and SipConfigTool. Now i can receive calls, but cannot place any... not sure why. Also, when i receive a call the sound is CRAP.. probably some codec issue here.
What type of internet connection have you?
Have you open ports on your router necessary for SIP, inbound and out?

Yep I did. I got this confirmed by testing it with a softphone on my PC, which works great (same voip provider etc).
hi,
i cooked a rom for myself with the kitchen program and now find that i cant dial numbers that start with +1 or any internatinal code
eg: +1 232892369283 but if i try to dial the same no. with no + sign ie just
232892369283 , i am able to call.....
i am with rogers in canada... what could be the issue.. the radio in my handset is 1.48 version...
please help.... as i have to edit the every number before i call
i changed the radio to 1.43 and still not working.. guess its something to do with the rom that i made... even tried installing the schaps rom...no way out???????
For the short term solution, have you tried to dial "00" instead of the "+"? They virtually do the same thing according to my understanding.
I REALLY dont need to use the 00 as i most of these numbers in my phone boook are local numbers, except that they were saved in the "+" format....
i tried to install all the available ROM s but none of them seem to solve this issue.. i am begining to think , either it could be a Rogers issue or i have screwed up something really bad
This isn't a Roger's issue as most of my numbers are dialed in international +1 format. So it must be the other one...
John
Same problem
Hi,
I have the same problem but only with VOIP calls. For GSM calls it works fine but with WM6 Inbuilt Voip calls it gives an error.
i have the same issue with mines...rogers...i notice it started to happen when i switch and put in my pay as you go chip...it use to work ok with my regular account...only started with pay as you go...is that what you are using
yes mine too is a pay as you go.. it was not like that always.. till saturday it was fine.. but i used to get this problem once in a while before but i thought that it was due to the rom that i was using... i never had such issues with my SE P990i phone that i had before....
Should i be calling rogers and ask ??? any not possible till tomorow evening
I can't figure out this problem for the life of me. When some of my contacts CALL ME (they have the same 954 area code), my 8525 displays a "+ 1" before the area code and number for some of them. I can't figure out what is causing this, as all my contacts are setup with the area code also.
I noticed when browsing in the SIM Manager, that my own phone number is listed in my phone with just a 1 in front of the number.. would this be causing the problem? Has anyone else experienced this?
edit: Im running vp3g's WM6, with 1.48 radio, and olipro
I asked this same question awhile back... apparently it's just how it is and you're not charged long distance or anything as long as it's local.
You didnt get much of a response or what? I know that my buddy has the same phone as all of us, and he doesnt seem to have this problem. I figure its something related to my sim card and the fact I just switched over from a RAZR. He bought his straight from an AT&T store. I wish I could figure it out..
I suppose its not much of a big deal, but it is a bit annoying..
Isn't this just the country code? Like we in Norway have "+47" usa got "+1".
Outlook can be set up to add this automatically when creating new contacts, maybe that is the reason some contacts have this and others not?
If you are roaming with your phone this number is essential.
I made absolutely sure all my contacts dont have a 1 in front (except for ones not in my area code). I'm not roaming at all either. Even contacts with the same area code sometimes pop up with the + 1 in front.. ****, I'm not in a different country, I dnt want to see that.. it makes me feel like im dialing long distance.
Don't know down there in USA, but here in Europe any mobile number is shown with the Country Code before, even if you are in the same country of the caller.
It depends from carrier configuration, but, for us is normal to see +39 in front of an italian number...even it you call me from 3 metres away from me !!! Anyway, I think it could depends from different method of showing the callerId used by operators.

Then I understand the answers above doesn't apply?
Or...

+1: Country calling code, North America Numbering Plan (NANP)
Seems like this system that is very common at least in Europe is a pretty new thing in North America?
Well.. it is on the telco setting. normally they will add +code so that it is easier for the roaming user and also when partnering with other telco.
You don't have to worry since you'll not be charge for long distance call..
Normally telco will send you prefix +6 (in my case), but mobile phone (like nokia and any other brand) is intelligent enough to omit this and still display the correct name even if we store the number without the + prefix.
That's why you didn't notice this when using razr...

The plus makes is so you can dial internationally without using the specific international access code. Having +1 or whatever the country code is for a specific number saves time and aggravation of having to find out the access code in each country. This is very helpful if you travel a lot. I spent much of the past 10 years traveling around the globe and it really made my life easier. I don't store numbers without the + and the full number including country codes.
Doesn't matter.
It won't matter for you when you call back to such a number. As in, you won't get any extra charges or anything.
Travelling a lot, I always save all my numbers with the plus sign and the country code. That way you can be sure you will always get through, whereever you are calling from...
Yeah, I'm not too concerned about it costing anything (I know it wont).. it just seems a little weird how when some people call, they have the +1, but others do not. They are all calling from the same area code too..
hi ,
i am using an application called sunnysoft to dial my calling card no. s . but when ever i use this application to dial a number , its not registering in the call history. Has any one faced this issue.
i have tried this with almost all rom s in this forum ( tnt, pandora kitchen, scaps, cyphol and v3pg)
Is there a solution for this or is there an alternative application to dial calling card...
thanks in advance
Hi,
We are having the same issues with Treo 750s and we've tried to get a hold of the Sunnysoft's support without any luck (ie calls hung up, emails unanswered).
There's another issue with WM6 phone gives you a 'Call Ended' popup which seems to slow down the speed at which this app works (as it seems to hang up in teh background on your call and redial using calling card, very slow).
Anyway just noticed that v1.1 just been posted on 1st of October, going to try that, no idea on whats new in it as product page is still listing v1.0 as latest.
Would be keen to find out of any other apps out there, surely its not that hard to make something like this that would work well.
*** Correction *** Seems like the so called v1.1 is actually v1.0, false alarm :-(
Typera, i have the same experience with this application. The version 1.1 that is out is the not the calling card but sunnysoft contact manager.
The other application that i use at times is called callingcard. THis one works fine but the limitation is that when you have to call a no. , you have to click on the contact and then select the option of " call using calling card" . so its so cumbersome.....
another one that i found is a inbulit calling card application in the inesoft contact manager but could not find a way to configure it.
i was looking out for some other better program that integrates both these but none seems to be available.....
hi drgopoos,
just tried the callingcard and its quiet a pain in the bum to use, not as easy given treo's quick finder thing from todays screen.
I did notice one change in the calling card app from sunnysoft download from today is ability to wait for dialtone, which if I recall correctly was not there 2-3 months ago. Maybe there's hope after all...slim as it may be.
I too started using it for a few months now , but i think that this feature ( dial tone) was present there even before..

I recently purchased an unlocked T-mobile Dash and activated it with Rogers. I got the two lines put on it(one business number, one personal number). Everything is working fine, I receive calls, txt and voice mail through both lines. Unfortunately I cannot seem to be able to make outgoing calls through the 2nd line.
I was wondering which if any of the wm6.1 firmwares or perhaps a add-on program would be able to activate the line selection on the phone. I am currently using the T-Mobile WM 6.0 firmware.
I have spent the better part of 5hours searching these forums and new firmwares but cannot find anything on the 2nd line support.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Please any help would be appreciated. Someone must know if any of the 6.1 firmwares would have this feature enabled. I have tried looking but there nothing in the firmware notes.
I would rather not have to update one at a time.

I have two lines but I use a dual SIM adapter which allows me to switch between the lines for outgoing calls via an interface. This may be the way you have to go as well as I do not know of any other way to do it.
Well, I finally decided to try and put the Rogers firmware on the phone, that seems to have solved the line issue. It still would be nice to know if any of the 6.1 firmwares have the line selection in the phone options.

That is the most common way it is done, and it is the only way I know works for sure... So if anyone wants to do this I would recommend doing it...
