I noticed this after I set up direct push email. Wondering if anyone else is having the same issue.
BTW I'm using the Premier Plus Rom and Mail 2 Web free push service
mine is, dont know why but just started recently after re flashing to artemies love rom 4.1.
Sometimes it shuts down when it wants to, freezes when it wants to and received sms notification dont work even after you have set it in the phone settings.
I reckon didnt flash properly so i am going to do it again. I hate flashing.

Thanx for replying but I think I've narrowed it down to a storage card issue. i noticed that it woud freeze for abouta full minute when I had a particular program open that I run from the storage card. I moved it to the Device memory and today it still froze, but I could at least turn the device on and off.
Now that I think about it, I noticed this freezing after i reflashed to the Premium Plus ROM with SDHC support. I upgraded from a 2GB Card to a 4GB Card. So it could be the SDHC drivers or just the card itself. I'm going to switch back to the 2GB card for a few days to see if it happens again.
That's as far as I'll gotten. These observations were made after a hard reset.
And I know what you mean about reflashing. You hare to reinstall everything. But it's good to do at least once a year.

I have very similar issues on mine.
I had the Oops v1.0 on it, then thought it had been a while since I last flashed, and perhaps that was the reason it froze often no logical reason to think this ! I KNOW).
So I flashed it with another ROM, and it does exactly the same. I have searched on this forum and seen some HTC do this as well.
UPDATE:
I have now narrowed it down to this:
I discovered that if I restart my Atremis and use it as normal or leave it on a stable table or side bed, it works OK, but if I slip it into my pocket for a minute it freezes....or if I place it in the same space/place/pocket/bag with my BB Pearl it just freezes....AMAZING !
I will be very stunned...yes stunned if their any solution to this...
Feel free to stun me !
I dont have any input on the issues you guys are having but I think i solved my own problem. I moved two programs from the storage card to the main memory and it hasnt come back. Actually, I think it was just the 2nd program.
I'm using an older ROM though: O2 Premium Plus by Meschle (now retired). I've stuck with this ROM because it's been the most stable for me.

Hello,
first of all when you experience any kind of freezing, run a full scandisk in Pocket Mechanic, then Check Notification queue in the same app.
Also check Start - settings - system - Key lock , make sure that you select "Lock all buttons except power" (first option). Restart your Artemis and try if the problem happens again.
Well it's been a week and I haven't had the freeze come back after I moved a couple programs from my storage card to my device. Both were programs with an application (small) and a huge database on the storage card (Oxford Spanish Dictionary & iSilo data base). I noticed that I always got the freeze when one or both of these applications was running.
So, of course, the data base info is still on the storage card but the applications are saved under Windows/Programs. No more freezes. And when I mentioned freeze, I ment that the phone would be extremely slow to respond to inputs. I would wait about 30 to 60 seconds for it to respond. If I pushed the power button 3 or 4 times, like a minute later I would get the screen flashing on and off so it's registering the commands. I wasn't sure if this was the same type of freezing that others were experiencing.
I'm thinking it has something to do with the card or the drivers for the SDHC. I never had this problem without the SDHC support and my 2GB card. Just FYI

As funny as it may sound.
I did the above and noticed a few days after, that the freezing is now reduced....still happens from time to time, though not as frequently as it used to...
What is the logic?
I assumed it was due to my frequent ROMing of my Atremis....guess patience has now paid off, but seriously and technically, I would want to be able to explain what is happening !
I had the Standby of Death SOD this is when the phone fails to come out of standby with a power button press. This issue only affects some people on some networks. I'm not sure if its a network problem or a software problem but as only a minority of people have it, I suspect its mainly a network problem there is a software solution.
The solution is to change the phone settings band option from auto 3G/2G to either 3G Only (WCDMA + UTMS 2100 in Europe) or 2G Only (GSM + AUTO) depending on your requirements.
Also read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540943&highlight=standby&page=2where the resolution was to get a new SIM.
Obviously this only solves the problem when the crash is because of the sim and/or settings which impact the sim. To rule out a software cause its best to start with a hard reset.
my phone has a big lag when hanging a call , showing me : call tine : xx xx
i can`t use anything until this message disappear, and the bad thing is that it stays there for around 6-7 seconds.
this is not happening all the time, but in 7 times from 10 calls is there.
i am using the MOTO Blur launcher, Moto_Version.2.5.1.1.MB525.Retail.en.CEE
what should i do ? is there a fix or something ?
should i try another launcher ?
edit: with Launcher Pro, free version , it happens the same thing, but rarely.
Try to use a different dialer:
Dialer One
Get on Market.
I think this can solve your problems.
and another thing related to lag is that when i receive a call , somethimes i slide the green "thing" , but nothing happens , and after 2 seconds or so , the call is on.
if i slide it all the way to the right to answer , nothing happens, the screen remains the same , with the "slide to answer" or "slide to ignore" slides .. and after 2 seconds, the call is connected
i have to be patient, and press repeatedly the "slide to answer" to actually move the slide to the right.
this is kind of annoying .
i have few applications installed : Adobe Reader, Angry Birds, Battery Mix, Bluetooth File Transfer, 2g-3g OnOff, ClockQ, Facebook , Flashlight, IMDb, Linda Manager, MyPhoneExplorer, Smooth Calendar, SoundHound .
i don`t think any of these apps has something to do related with my problem , if so , please report to me

You can use a app named OS Monitor to see what is eating your cpu.
If your rom is a Stock one, something you installed is interfering with you phone dialer.

cpu use by each application?
Is not the cpu use total you want, but the individual use by app currently running.

With OS Monitor on, call your cellphone from another phone and monitor what goes up in cpu usage...
No idea about the problem. If nothing else works, you may try a factory reset/wipe.
This is not a new issue. Posts I've read have solved it by going into the dialer app under "manage applications" and clearing data. Maybe will work for you.

the stock dialer doesn't appear in the " manage applications", only apps that you install from market or any other sources .
i installed another dialer , Dialer One, and under manage applications, it hasn't any "clear cache" option
guess that clearing data by going into the dialer app under "manage applications" is not possible.
any other ideas ?

i did that and called me from another phone, answered, and the same thing in OS Monitor, only Android System 2-10-15-20%, OS Monitor 25-30%, and Launcher Pro 1-2 % ..
after i hang up, the 3-4 seconds of lag was there, and after disappearing , the dialer had an 12% value, and reduced to 0% in 2 seconds.
i`ll do a soft reset, hope that will be the case
off topic : what`s the difference between soft reset , hard reset and wipe data ?
I've got the same problem. Dialer (stock or custom, no difference) on my defy lags even more. It can take from 4 seconds to 10 at least. Sometimes if you get calls the moment you hang up the previous one, it slows down even more, so the dialer is completely unresponsive for quite a long time. Only a turn-off->on helps, which I completely hate because of that irritating loud sound (even when on vibrate) when turning off or on.
This is stock 2.1, not rooted phone. I only have launcherpro running, everything else is on default. I'm going to do a complete reset and see if the problem is gone, but I'm not too hopeful.
Guys, I had the same problem.. My new phone (Eclair, Not yet rooted) used to lag a lot whenever I end a call, It just freezes, So I did the following steps:
* Goto Settings-> applications-> Manage applications
* Tap the menu button (the first soft key button) and tap on "filter"
* Select the option "All" and now in the list of applications select Dialer
* tap the "clear data" button
* Go to home and Dialer -> recent and "clear List"
This solved my problem, Hope it solves yours as well.

As you can see, it is not only possible, but designed to be cleared. Basic stuff. Clearing data from the application manager was a daily routine on the old G1. Generally if something slows down, this is the first place to look.

Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
After some reboots, I noticed that my apps in the app drawer keep messing up.
Not sure what's the caused, and get fedup of having to rearrange it often.
Any idea?
yer i had that issue for the first 1 and 1/2 weeks of use but i found that after installing a few more apps then it shipped with it stopped after about 9 apps
I think some people have said that having the apps moved to the SD card can make the ordering mess up, since they're loaded later than internal apps
It's really irritating, as it seems to occur randomly
I had this problem too, and the easiest way to fix the problem is just set the order to most used, and not "own order" that way u can get to the app's u use most often on the first screen and they don't move around.
It got so bad with mine moving around that at one point I had about 10 screens, some with no or 1 app on each, setting it to "most used" solved it and I haven't had a problem since.
Hope this helps

just to add, if you use another home launcher besides the stock one, this disarrangement or whatever you call it, happens most of the time. So I prefer to use the stock SE home launcher and sort it by "most recently used" as well.
I've noticed that sometimes opening the app tray/drawer before everything's loaded from the sd card (in case of apps moved to sd) can cause their icons to not show in the 'remembered' location and will appear on the last page instead. Solutions is to just give it a little time to fully load everything after a boot.
Edit: also seems to happen if the sd card is connected to the pc in msc mode, i.e. inaccessible and unmounted from the system.
I recently got HTC one x in UK and it was fine so far now I started receiving Loading screen often. After seeing various forums I removed the calendar widgets with the hope of not getting he loading screen again but no luck. Any one had this problem or any suggestions?

Hi,
Not sure if you still have this problem, but I solved my friend's X by backup and factory reset. after restart, tested opening apps then home button, no more Loading..., then restored.
Hope this helps.
Thanks dansoh, Same I did and it started working fine but my worry is why the new phone needed such factory restore?
I already did a factory reset on mine and it still happens. I think when the phone runs out of ram, it may have randomly closed the home screen and so it needs to "load" again.
This sometimes happens with my galaxy nexus as well.
I had my homescreen always reloading again to.
Found out it had something to do with the setting: Options\Developer options, and there the 3rd option from below, don't save activities (not sure how it is displayed in the English version).
It should not be selected, otherwise it reloads the homescreen everytime.
I see that option. By the sound of it, i think it disables multi tasking?

i got the same problem too and it was yesterday it started as there was a new software update and i accepted and ever since, when i hit the home icon on the phone it says loading every time.. i followed all the tips of putting everything to 4 processors and turning off activity in the background and no luck.. i have noticed that when i go onto the task manager i have constantly over 641mb running even when i stop all and refresh.. where as before i updated it it was around the 300mb ... can i get the old version instead of 4.0.4 ? or is there another way ? thanks
I am using a HTC One M8 (ATT model, Best Buy edition)
There are no threads about this issue that I haven't checked: my phone seems to be acting not only sluggish, but some other weird things seem to be happening.
- Google Play Store seems to be taking forever to start to download, downloads fine, takes forever to start to install, and about 20 minutes later (if the app hasnt been killed off by then since I have only 1 app in the background, to see if that fixed my lag issues before switching to just 1 app in background) it finally installs.
- Quickpic doesnt seem to want to load anything at all (I use it as my main app to view pictures since HTC Gallery cant view animations in a loop). It just sits there at a black screen with a loading circle at the top, no thumbnails or folders show up. I have cleared the phone's cache with
- Rebooting does nothing to solve my issues.
- Restoring to factory default does nothing to solve my issues.
- Restricting background processes to 1 does nothing to solve my issues.
- Disabling Power Saving mode entirely does nothing to solve my issues.
- Disabling apps that I don't use does nothing to solve my issues.
Anyone know what my issue is and how I could fix it? This would be extremely helpful, thanks.
FYI, I am not rooted, I will save this as a last resort if need be.
**Edit** using App Cache Cleaner app, apparently my phone storage is at 23.6 GB/ 24.8 GB. Will try seeing if cleaning up some stuff manually fixes this.

Wow I derped pretty hard, the issue was fixed when I checked the box with "Erase all data" under Reset Phone. Didn't check that when I reset it the first time. Guess I had too much media on it...?

Glad you sorted it out. Too much media should not be an issue, but a complete wipe will usually fix things.
