low tech solution to slider problem - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

for those of you who do not fancy the idea of taking apart your favorite companion to sort out the loose slider problem then you could try the following.
open the slider and turn round the blue angel so you can see the slots that the slider clips run on.
roll up very small quantities of blue or white tack and insert into the top of the slot, this will help to keep the unit closed with no play and improves the resistance when opening.

Flashing Lights on my BlueAngel

Hello,
I've just bought my O2 XDA IIs as a replacement for my broken mobile phone & a PDA upgrade.
I keep it with me as much as I would keep my mobile with me - that is, I have it sitting on my work desk, use it as an alarm in the mornings etc.
There is a LED on the top-right corner of the device that CONTINUALLY flashes green - it may sound like a small thing, but I find it incredibly annoying; it constantly catches my eye and distracts me. It also lights up my dark bedroom when I'm going to bed (I have it on charge, so there's a constant orange and then green LED displaying).
Is there any way to disable this light? I'd rather not put opaque sticky tape over it, as it looks a bit messy and will accumulate grime around the sticky edges. I can't find a setting in the software, but surely a 3rd party tool somewhere can stop this light from displaying?
Thanks in advance,
Sam

Yes there is a way - search the forums as the answer there to be found.
Thanks Crillo - I didn't want to waste hours sifting through forum if there wasn't a fix.
I found it - http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...storder=asc&highlight=flashing+light&start=25
Hope that saves someone else having to look.

White screen, cable problems, unusable BA... Please help!! Thank you!

Hi all! I hope I'm not disturbing here, but I'm quite desperate with regards to my poor BA... After replacing the display about a year ago (the touch-sensitive layer had broken) everything was going well, but something bad has been happening for some months now, and I think it has come to the point of no-return...
At first, when I slid the BA open, there would be a point in which a change in the colors on the display happened, as if the the Red and Blue channels worked well while the Green one was dim (as noticeable during the boot process). Then, opening it completely, it came back to the normal state. The situation worsened, sort of "interference" could be seen while opening the BA, the touchscreen would lose calibration after some openings and closings and so on...
Now the worst: when I turn it on, the screen is completely blank and white; sliding it back and forth would once get it to work, but now it is completely useless. About halfway between the open and closed positions the backlight itself turns off and then on again. It is impossible to see anything and it is unusable!! I opened the BA and made sure everything was connected, I re-connected the LCD and the touchscreen cable but nothing changed... I don't know what to do...
Does anyone have any suggestions? Can I try to repair it or to have it repaired, or, as it is a bit visibly used, should I resign myself to saying it goodbye?? Thanks for your patience and help...
News!! I rried to replace the new screen with the old (broken touchscreen) one, and that one works. Save for a problem, the green colour is lightly dim in the exact positions in which the backlight goes off with the "new" but not working display... Does anyone have an explanation for this behaviour? Thanx again!!

Any progress on disabling notification light?

I saw this thread that said rename/removing the lights.vangogh.so file would disable it, but you end up disabling brightness controls making the "fix" useless. Has anyone been able to determine another approach?
If it were a small LED or the power button flashing, it wouldn't be a big deal, but that's a big light to start flashing right next to the screen when I'm watching Netflix and just happen to get an email.
If you turn off notifications in the settings panel, the Home button won't flash, it'll just glow steadily and brightly. I agree, it's annoying, it'd be nice to turn it off completely. Maybe a small piece of black vinyl tape...

[Q] Backlight Flickering

I have a question... when i open setting-display&gestures-brightness then the brightness window popup, the background become grey.. i slide the brightness panel tu highest and when i see the grey background, i see some kind of shaking grey when i put the device close to my eye under room light.. when i see from distance or in dark room, i cant see the shaking background... is it normal because i see it too close to my eye/under room light or is it some kind of backlight flickering issue?
hmm.... tried the seachbutton? This for example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592157 and this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597448
Had the same problem with my One X, have sent it back for replacement. Phoned HTC and they said it was faulty and should not do that.

Question Using the Fold 3 as a night clock in a 90-degree unfolded state

I'd like to use the Fold 3 as a night clock, positioned next to the bed, with the phone unfolded to the right angle and the AOD displaying on the outer small display - now being vertical and thus easily seen from bed only upon opening your eyes.
The problem is - before you reach this 90-degree position the outer display is shut off and the internal display comes on.
Anyone have an idea how this might be achievable?
80 or even 85° at a push seems to leave the outside screen on. Is 80° not enough?
Let me try - it seemed to me it flipped sooner )
You are right - at least on A12 now it's OK. I seem to remember it flipped sooner on A11, but maybe imagining things now... )
OK - so this is what confused me: I was opening the phone with the AOD on already - there it flips to the internal display immediately once you open it slightly.
If you keep the screen on, you can open to like 80 degrees and then turn the screen off - the AOD comes up still on the external display.
Maybe a short video might help?
1. While the phone is folded, open camera app.
2. Choose "selfie on the right top corner
3. Unfold the phone to 90°
4. Turn off phone's screen
5. ???
6. Profit

I'm on A11. I don't have AOD on, though, I was just using normal lock screen.

I just use a wireless charging stand. It can be charged landscape if that's what you want, but I keep mine portrait. The angle of the stand works well for me. I got it on Amazon and it is the one covered in fabric, a nice modern look to it.
I found an easier way: )
- Close the phone.
- Turn it on.
- Open it slightly, so display doesn't switch.
- Turn it off - AOD will come on.
- Now you can open to any angle - AOD will stay outside! )
