Hi,
I am going to upgrade my rom's tonight - obviously my calendar, contacts etc will re-sync, I can reinstall my apps, but is there a way of backing up the call history and speed dials from the phone app?
Thanks!

Is it possible to make the phone button open the contacts app, at the moment it opens a screen where its gt all sorts of numbers, facebook contacts i dont want and all sorts,
mmm i agree.. that phone list is really annoying. it's got recent incoming and out going, then favorites, that all contacts including facebook.
i just want my google contacts in alpha order!
yh hope they add some options to change that up soon
Hide the keyboard and you get all your contacts

what i mean is, the list that comes up in the "phone" menu should be the same as contact one, but its a misture of missed calles, dialed calls and facebook peeps
no, it shouldn;t be.
the call history is at the top as it is on all htc sense phones (Android and WM) so you can immediately dial your last few calls.
otherwise, you start typing the name of the person you want to dial, and up they come nice and quick.
Smart dialling like this has been in winmo since pocket pc 2002. of course they brought it across to android.
however, yes, the facebook stuff is bloody ridiculous.
Only thing that I find annoying is having 3 vesion of a phone number as it syncs Google, Facebook and Phone - surely it should merge new data and not duplicate it? I just want the data from Outlook's address book and then have them linked to Facebook if need be. It was cool that it did it automatically though
i think u can link them up manually
Hey, everyone,
I've got a prob with Smart Dialing on my CDMA Rhodium running a stock WM6.5 ROM. Okay, here we go...
Whenever I delete a call entry of a contact from the Call History, Smart Dialing no longer works for that name. If, however, I manually dial any of the contacts numbers, the call dialog displays the contact name, and from that point on, the entry's returned. Soft resetting does not return the contacts, only manual dialing.
It seems pretty random, but it's a real pain in the @$$. Has anyone had this problem, and if so... HEEELP!!
So I like using Google Voice for my voicemail but I didn't know it was going to take over as my sms carrrier too. I've set up the default application to be the native sms but it still is taking over. The reason why I don't want google voice is it seems i have to have data on to get my messages. I turn off my data when not in use during the day to save battery. I'm almost being forced to turn data on all day. IS there a way to change this? I'm sorry if this has been covered but I've searched many threads and most people want to enable it.. Thanks for any answers.
Nope. Data is required for GVoice to work. Same thing if you are on a Google Voice voice call data is needed. That is how everything is transmitted. Over the "net".
Uninstall the app, re-install, this time don't check the 'use a sms' blah blah. Also you have to have data on to use; if you don't wana use 3G, use wifi [if able] as it consumes less power.

You just need data to start the voice call.
It sounds like you upgraded your sprint # to be your google voice number. Undo that. You can have a different google voice # and still use it as your voicemail for your sprint phone.
If you ported your sprint number into Google voice have fun with your permanent SMS application.

Have you tried clearing cache and dalvik cache?
Then reboot and go to programs > default apps, choose the standard SMS and test.
hello. i installed Google Voice integration whicn integrates GV sms in messaging app. I accidently deleted it and now i cant send or receive sms...the only way is to install the app again again and disable integration. however when i try to install it, following error occurs" gv integration could not be installed.Free up some space and try again". i have almost 8 gb free...is there any way to start sms other than restoring rom?
Try going into settings, apps, and finding the SMS app. Clear cache and data. Do the same for GVoice Reboot phone. Try again.
I recently switched from AT&T to Total Wireless with my existing Samsung Note 10 +, but I am no longer getting notifications when I have voice mail. When I go to Settings > Notifications > Phone, the Missed Call and the Voicemail options are turned off, and it will not permit me to turn them on. (If I call my voice mail, I can retrieve my messages fine, but I just never get the notifications). I have called Total Wireless customer service several time, and everything they had me tried failed. The last rep stated that I need to completely restore my phone back to factory settings, meaning that I will lose all of my apps, text messages, pictures, etc.
I have two questions - First and preferably, is there any trick to be able to get my phone to start providing my voice mail notifications? If not, how can I store all of my apps, text messages, on a PC, and re-upload them after doing a factory reset?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
