I just notice that when my phone goes into locked mode, incoming calls will ring once and then terminate. One the caller end, they get a busy tone, i.e. I am on the line. I am missing a lot of calls this way.
I set my XDA IIs to lock and require password when idle for 1 hour. I am using this more as a security feature so that if I lose the phone, at least it will lock up after 1 hour if idle.
anyone else facing this? any ideas how to rectify?
I don't have an hour to kill, but I set my phone to 1 minute lock and waited 5 minutes then rang it, but I'm afraid I didn't have any problems with my XDA IIs.
It just rings and rings and rings and rings. Sorry!
Loosing calls on locked phone
Hi - I have exactly the same problem - when the phone rings (in locked mode) and I either touch the "answer button on screen" or the hard "green" button on the phone - I get a message saying "unable to answer call" and the call gets dropped. The only solution seeems to be to unlock phone and wait for caller to try again!
Hmm I tried that way too (answering the call after few rings) and also worked fine (which I'm kinda glad about obviously, but I can see how annoying that'd be!)
I'm using:
Radio: 1.02.00
Protocol: 1337.32
Rom: 1.12.62 WWE (10/04/04)
ExtROM: 1.12.178 WWE
Was from a unit sent straight from O2 which arrived 28th January.
Hopefully you've both got old firmware and can upgrade it via O2's website link. (Links somewhere on this forum, but don't ask me where!)
Argh that was from me :-(
I'm using
Radio 1.02.00
ROM 1.31.00 WWE (12/13/04)
Protocol 1337.32
ExtROM 1.31.920 WWE
which looks more up to date than yours..
The newest radio is 1.06.02. I don't have such problems with this version.
Guys, this problem may be caused by some applications that have an integrated call handling feature, or that have any features related to calls or phone applications, check the settings for some programs that you might have like for example : JGUI phone profiles, SPB Phone plus, I really don't remember all apps, but the above mentioned apps may have some settings that may cause this problem to happen.

Hi guys,
Recently installed the latest ROM offered by O2 onto my XDA2s, having firstly been incredibly frustrated that I'd lost all my txt messages and installed applications, I have since found that the phone locks up almost daily now - it particularly seems to be whenever switching the phone on/off with the topright power button - at which stage it'll just freeze.
Sometimes when making a call, I'll dial the number, and when ringing starts, switch the phone display off so as to save batteries, when doing the same since the ROM update, the phone seems to hang.
VERY frustrated, anyone any ideas, or experiencing the same?
Another question, with Bluetooth Audio, is there any way to stream a telephone call through my PC via a bluetooth link allowing me to chat/hear through the PC instead of the phone?
And finally, does anyone else find the Network Connections settings on the PocketPC OS incredibly stupid, confusing and impossible to accurately setup for Internet access through Wireless/Bluetooth??
Cheers, Ash

follow the above thread. I found by doing what it said about removing o2 active stuff I havent had to soft reset since..
I would also add that I have also upgraded to radio rom 1.12.00 and Blue tooth 3900 (shortly after so not certain it was due just to that but likely)
If I can be any help at all PM me and I will try and assist maybe talk on instant messenger..
But I must repeat it hasnt locked since the above and the battery life seems much much greater.... for instance I left it on from 6pm last night until 7am this morning and it appeared to loose only 10% battery including making a couple of calls..
I would do it again with and uk xda2s
Hope that helps
as for the rest of your questions no idea LOL
Stay happy
Thanks for your reply, I did install the upgrade in Corporate mode having read that thread first, but its still installed all the O2 Active stuff - so should I now remove the bits from my Startup folder that relate to O2?
Also, I now cannot find any easy way to disconnect GPRS once its connected????
yep
I would get rid of the active bits as said.. to disconnect gprs simply press and hold the red hang up button
I will look again at your posts and answer anything else I can.. dont know if you have noticed but this site is slow so sorry for the delay in replying
have you upgraded the radio rom and BT version?????
stay happy
did you enter a corporate code when setting up in corporate mode?
0506 i belive
stay happy
Ahhhhh, I thought Corporate Code was for the screen password lock or something, so I just entered my usual code - should I rewrite the rom upgrade again, or can I run the setup program separately on the XDA to enter the 0506 code??
I'm currently running...
Rom V: 1.31.00 WWE
Rom Date: 12/13/04
Radio V: 1.06.00
Protocol: 1337.38
ExtRomV: 1.31.139 WWE
Is that the latest? got from the official O2 website.
Thanks also for the GPRS disconnect, that helps, shame it doesn't tell you, hehe!
you should just be able to do a hard reset and put it into corporate mode. do a backup first though..
The versions you are running are the latest from O2 I think.... however you can find the ones I am using on this forum... I have found them much better and if you are going to do a hard reset you might want to do them first....
anything else just shout..
stay happy
Yeah but if you back up then you are backing up the O2 active stuff as well. When you do a hard reset and choose corporate ok. But when you use backup restore the O2 active gets restored. I use Sprite as backup and i can't see offhand how to backup everything EXCEPT the O2 active stuff so that it won't reinstall on a restore. I've manually put back all my progs etc and then backed up so O2 Active won't come back.
I have to say that the latest O2 Rom update using the personal rather than corporate mode is a disaster. My phone was locking up every day. I was getting really p***** off with it. Now I have got shot of the O2 active stuff everything works fine.
Hi
Here are the instructions I got form Brian at O2 data Support. Back up to PC rather than storage card and restore from there. Here goes:
Workaround - setup a 'Corporate' install that doesn't include the Active
User Interface
Before starting insure important data is saved by syncing to Outlook on your
PC if needed (do not use backup/restore)
* Hard reset.
* Near the end of the custom applications auto-install you will be
given a choice of "Corporate" or "Personal". You should choose "Corporate".
Note: you will only have approx 5 seconds to choose this option, after which
the 'Personal' option will be automatically selected
* You will be asked for a pin. Enter 0506 (that's zero five zero
six) and tap Finish
* You will see the message "Welcome corporate user, O2 Active won't
be installed". Your device is now ready and you will have everything except
the Active User Interface.
Important: the mobile web, WAP and mms settings WILL still be preset.
Hope this helps
Regards
Chris
Hi,
My Qtek 9090 acts quite strange from time to time. Yesterday I didn't receive any calls or sms, which I didn't think of any further until my girlfriend told me she called like 4 times and sent several sms to me.
I looked at the device, but no missed calls or any sms. The device was working 100% and I had good signal strength, but I couldn't receive any calls or sms
After a soft reset I got all the sms etc.
Has this happened to any of you guys ?
A cellphone is useless if it doesn't work properly and doesn't give you any information about this either.
XDA IIi
I have experienced exactly the same problem...
I have the same problem on my i-mate jam.Perhaps it's a wider problem with the os?or htc devices.People tell me all the time to turn my phone on,and i try to explain it's been on all day!
same here
same problem here! my gf also thrashes me 4 the same stuff!
i have XDA IIs.... 1.40rom...radio 1.13...
I wonder if its related to a specific program that we all are running, or if its just the OS.
Its extremely annoying, and I am considering selling my unit.
Maybe we should contact Microsoft or the like, if its a general issue.
yep, same here :?
Same exact problem. Mine is an i-mate PDA2K running ROM 1.40.00 WWE.
I have the problem quite frequently, sometimes after a bunch of alarms jam up without me dismissing them properly. Sometimes, it just happens for no reason.
I read somewhere that a phone.exe (not sure) application could die, which basically takes care of the phone management.
Tks,
MC
Had the same problem here  What seems to have helped, is the fact that every morning at 6AM Sprite Backup makes an automated full backup of my PDA and then soft resets it. Maybe this problem is somehow linked to the uptime of the device, dunno.
My device is a QTEK 9090 with CE ROM 1.22, Radio ROM 1.13.00 and a custom Extended ROM.
See here...

.. sometimes the telephone stops it's funcionally.
If I call the thelephone dont'call, in this period of block I can't receive any calls or sms until I active the fly mode and reactive it.
But the activity led and and the network icon on the top (near the G) works fine.
what can I do?!
I also have installed the Unidirectional Audio Patch from clubimate.
old problem. read the wiki and live with it or upgrade to wm5.
i have the same problem with Version 1.06.02
I dont think its a Problem of the Windows itself, or al least i dont want to admit it, i will try to upgrade to 1.11.00 and post my experiance here.
Hi,
like the thread below I have problems with my GPRS connection freezing. I'm pretty sure what's happening is that when the phone goes out of signal range (Unfortunately this includes several of my uni buildings) and then BACK INTO SIGNAL, the phone won't make a call and the push mail dies the death.
Interestingly, SMS continue as normal - so I have no idea it's happened until I try to make a call or check activesync on the device!
I've tried 3 or 4 different radio roms, all seem to have the same problem.
Device information shows:
ROM version: 2.50.00 WWE
Radio: 1.12.00
Protocol version:42.46.P8.
I've added my own ExtROM with my used programs in there. I believe I've tried radio ROMs 12, 14 and 15. I'm running out of ideas and sanity. Any prods in the right direction would be gratefully received!
I'm probably not the person to be giving advice, considering it was me asking for help in the other thread!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309365
Have you tried the suggestion from the other thread to try going to a page with Pocket IE to see if the entire GPRS connection has frozen?
Also have you tried other main ROMs?
My phone very rarely goes out of reception, but I'll try and pay attention to what it does next time.
i am a newbie of Vodafone (PH20B2),
Device Version is
Rom Version : 1.31.00 WWE
Rom Date 12/13/04
Radio Version : 1337.42
Extrom Version : 1.31.175 WWE
with Windows mobile 2003 Second Edition
the problem is that sometime i could not receive the call , the message occurs "unable to answer the call".
When i try to tab phone icon the message " The phone is not ready wait 15 seconds and try again" occurs .
anybody could help me what to do.
I am getting the same problem why is this?
I have a o2 xda IIs, i have installed WM6 Pro CE OS 5.2.1933 (Build 18533.0.7.0) Updated [30.11.2007]
i face the same problem, furthermore i realize when the battery is near 30% da phone becomes buggy in the sense dat messages stop getting sent and after soft resets da trouble is the network stops getting detected only after 5 minutes i see network signals,as soon as i hookup the phone with power the sms problem is immediately solved!
It may be helpful to note i have not installed any third party software and the phone has been hard reset only a few days ago!
Does the parite virus affect the phone? i installed parite infected .exe software through AS 4.5 and as a precaution hard resetted the phone following that!!
furthermore tapping answer doesnt work and the call automatically gets disconnected!!!
Try Upadating your ROM to Xplode's one. And yes one important thing , always keep your bluetooth on ( you may uncheck the beam option). This may solve your problem.

NO dont do that. it will drain your battery faster if bluetooth is on.
make sure it is OFF and also check the infrared (Beam).
You're battery might be failing to power up the phone module.
Try a new battery.
I've experienced some used battery.
Below 30% is very critical for ALL PocketPC operations, this is the point where some glitch tends to pop-up because the battery cant support
the power requirement of the hardware in which the software was using
(Ex. Phone, Camera, LCD, Speaker, Mic, Digitizer) thus, it fails bigtime or sometimes crashes.
Except if your battery is newer where the 30% which steadily and accurately give power to our BA.
And make sure you terminate all your programs if you've finished using it, if it is running it might affect the power consumption because it is still present in the memory.
anyone can sync without using original cradle or bluetooth? i m having problems with non-ori cables..on usb port.. help pls!!!

Does this happens right after powering on ?
It is normal to take a long time to boot up the SIM Cards configuration and specially SIM contacts onto the phone's memory.

OMG i realize after 35% my phone starts getting buggy, messages dont get sent :s phone hangs and has to be reset :O...can anyone tell me if a new battery for a blue angel is a good idea? and furthermore I am willing to invest in a new battery can anyone send me links for a cheap O2 XDA IIS battery which will last rigorous use? can anyone verify stability issues after 30%?
The phone is not ready. Wait 15 secondsd and try again. !!!
And can't open Options for the phone and not able to send SMS.
Using:
WM6 5.2.1938 (Build 18538.0.7.0.PV.HAT)Touch & Office 6.1 NetCF 3.5
Radio 1.12
Trying reflashing and also with another PV WM6 2000 and trying to send SMS immidiately after reflashing but no luck! Though it worked in the first days of switching to WM6.
Could it be the Radio 1.12 version problem?
Thanks for helping!
Ok see if you SIM is perfectly making contact. I had the same problem. I did put some bit of paper on the over the SIM . So that after closing the back cover it fitted snuglly to its slot.

Which upgrading method of the 2 that are described in the XDA Wiki?
Last time I tried both it seems it didn't work for me.
One says that is just Radio updating and the other the whole WM operating system?
Kind Regards
www.myspace.cn/taijiyoga
Just try the radio updating only. The one in the wiki is good.
or copy the radio.nbf to where nk.nbf is. then flash both only if you want.
if you just want the radio. delete the nk.nbf.
then launch MAUpgradeUT_NoID.exe
I had a very same problem.
The problem was solved by buying a new battery.
At least for me, the only problem was the battery. Now everything is going fine...
Yup. Mostly, but not all, problems are battery related. our BA's really a powermonger when it comes to eating battery mAh
so the most common advice for a hardware failure or such is a change of battery.
note: even our desktop PC's malfunction if it is running undervolt.
