Hi
To all I am completely new to the M1000 after upgrading from a SPV c500 and throwing my old PDA away.
I have been reading through the forums about the Dual Sim
At the mo I have 2 Orange Sim Cards 1 on contact and 1 Pay as you go I would like to put both sims in the phone so that I can use my free minutes on contract and my free texts on Pay as you go.
I was thinking of buying the King of Double card Dual Sim Card form e-bay.
I have read that you can swap sims by turning on/off flight mode ???
I have regestered my interest in WiVit for there Today screen sim switcher. But this not yet ready.
3 Questions
1. Has anyone done this
2. How do you switch sims using flight mode
3. How can you tell if both are on orange which one you are cureently using??
If anyone can answer this for me please please include idiot instructions as i dont want to break this terriffic phone
Many many thanks
To swap sim using flight mode, click on the top of screen where the signal/antenna is, choose flight mode............click same place again, click turn off flight mode, your sim is now swapped. To find out which sim you are using you could choose programs/sim manager/tools/list own number, that should give you the phone number of current sim in use, there is probably an easier way but I cant think of it right now.
I used dual-sim on my nokia for ages until they stopped it working.
To get around the problem with knowing which sim is active, I stored all my numbers in the phone, then had 1 number in each sim, with a dummy number so I didn't dial by mistake.
e.g. 'Private', '000' for my own sim.
and 'Work', '000' for my worktime sim.
(on the nokia, I had to put 'a' in front so this number was always at the top of my phonelist, but this is not needed on the XDA.)

Ok - some mobiles had option I believe(unconfirmed) that with 2 sim cards installed, a piece of software on the phone allowed switching between sim cards - saves turning them on/off - any idea if the xda has this option?
Reason being - I have a personal sim card, and now I have a work one BUT would prfer just one phne and do prefer the xda
Scott
yep
I use "wivit" sim switcher, works just fine on my xda2s, xda2 and xda2i
http://www.wivit.com/products/SSS.shtml
wivit
Wivit doesnt works on WM05
I know this is a longshot - but anyone know with this type of software if the software will tell you that a call is coming in on say on 1 sim card, so that you can then switch to that sim card???
Cheers
Scott
Very long shot - It doesn't work. Only one SIM at a time is connected. What I do is set up a divert from one to the other, so that I can always received all my calls whichever SIM is active & then simply switch to the appropriate SIM when making calls
Hey Guys,
just recieved my Tablet today (LTE Version) and tried some stuff.
But all the time there is a notification about insertig a SIM Card, which is annoying.
At the moment I don't have another SIM Card, since the one i have is in my Phone, but i already wrote to my Carrier.
Till I get a SIM from them (which is not sure yet), is there a possibility of disabling this notification?
I know that there is no SIM, so why does the Tab need to tell me all the time?
Btw, it does not go away after going into Flight Mode.
Thanks for your Ideas and Solutions!
Hi ,
Any one got his fire phone ( unlocked version ) working in India ? THough band configuration looks compatible, its not working ... I am curious to know if it works for anybody ?
Not working for me
Neither call or msg
No, FIre Phone wont work in India
I bought Fire Phone in US and sent it to india. My friend confirmed that its not working with Airtel, Vodafone and Idea. I spoke to Amazon Customer care and they also confirmed that there is an ongoing issue and amazon is working on the resolution. As on today there is no estimated ETA, it might take a month to 3 months.
Gopi
Is there any way to make it work?
I tried my airtel sim and its the same story INVALID SIM. Is there anyway that i can make it work? Damn I bought this phone!
Amazon Fire Phone works in India with Vodafone
Guys,
The fire phone works for me and I use Vodafone sim from Chennai. The story goes as follows. I got the phone from my husband a week back and I have been trying with the sim and it never worked. On top it showed Vodafone IN with signal bar, the data plan worked but no calls or messages. My husband contacted Amazon and following is their email and I've also commented what I did for each step.
Thank you for calling today about your Fire Phone.
I am sorry you are having trouble using the device in India.
Here are a few things for you to try.
1. Make sure you are using an actual nano SIM card and not a SIM card that was cut down to a nano SIM card. Cutting down an existing SIM
card is not recommended and has been known to cause compatibility issues. If the phone says "No SIM" or "Invalid" in the Status Bar at
the top of screen, you might be using a cut SIM card. - I was using a new nano sim. My data plan worked fine and on top it showed Vodafone IN but was not able to make calls.
2. Turn on caller ID. (Service providers in India require all phones to
have caller ID enabled.) To turn on caller ID, go to Settings > Phone
Configure Caller ID > Show Your Caller ID, and then select Show Number.
This option was disabled in my phone so couldn't do anything
3. Please contact your service provider so they can verify if your IMEI is blocked by the network. Your carrier may ask for the following
information:
IMEI: To find the IMEI number, enter *#06# on the phone's dialer.
Type Approval Code (TAC): The TAC for Fire phone is 01428500. - Vodafone said they do not do this and don't block any phones
4. Access Point Name Information: Go to Settings > WiFi & Networks >
Change your mobile operator > Access Point Names > Add an Access Point
Name. You should only enter the information the carrier provides, and
then tap Save and Select APN. - This was already setup with right settings for Vodafone
After checking all the above it still did not work so I lost hope and asked my husband to call Amazon for a alternate solution. They asked if I did the 5th step which was below. So I waited for 24hrs inserted sim and restarted sim and voila it worked.
5. It may take 24 to 48 hours for you to use your phone to make and receive calls after the carrier activates it. After 24 to 48 hours,
you should remove the SIM card, restart their phone, and then insert the SIM card.
PS - The thing is these settings given above where already set for my phone. But it worked after Amazon was contacted so I wonder if they did anything with my IMEI number to make it work.
Hi Guys, I am using this phone and it is working well . Its been alomost 11 months now I have been using this phone. Like it is said, dnt cut your SIM card, instead use a new nano SIM from the operator. Even I have a vodafone SIM inserted, and the phone started working.
Hello
I hope this is the right place to ask and I feel at this point I have been searching Google dry over the past week.
I have a HTC one m8 with dual SIM, as I live in Sweden and work in Denmark, I have a Swedish tre.se in SIM1 and then a Danish 3.dk in SIM2
While I'm in Denmark, both SIM card works and connects to their network, but the second I enter Sweden, SIM2 won't find a connection.
I tried to switch the two cards, but then it's just the Swedish card in SIM2 that won't connect.
From what I have been able to Google , SIM2 should only be using 2g network, but this should be a problem for either of the subscriptions as far as I know.
Is there some special trick, setting or some I need to do to make it connect to 2g
It is original OS on it. I unfortunately can't root it, as my company mail will detect it and block my access. (Worx home by Citrix + touchdown)
What I have tested so far:
Factory reset of the phone.
New SIM card for both cards.
Activate and deactivate flight mode.
Deactivate and activate each SIM from the dual SIM manager.
Switch cards in slots (1->2 and 2->1).
Disable SIM1 ( SIM 2 still didn't connect)
I have also contacted each phone company, but they were to no use and just said it should work hehe
Any suggestions or ideas ? I'm open to all suggestions that doesn't involve getting another phone
Also this is not one of the cheap Chinese dual SIM versions.
Thanks
I may have managed to get a little closer to the cause.
It seems that SIM2 is actually only running over GSM / 2G for god knows what reason, and that is not supported by my phone company i Sweden, which is why it only works in Denmark.
I will try with another phone company called TDC and see if they have the same issues over there or else its bye bye useless dual sim
Hi, my sister bought a used phone off eBay. When she got the phone it needed a Nano Sim and she converted her standard sized sim into a Nano Sim with the help of T-Mobile and installed the sim card. Everything went well until her husband went to buy a Galaxy S6 used off of someone on Craigslist and he took her Nano Sim out and put it in that S6 to test the phone. But when he put that Nano Sim back into the HTC One M9 the phone stopped working and says "Limited Service." The phone shows the phone number on the sim correctly and all the contacts stored on there show up but there is "Limited Service." Manually trying to select the service provider says "Your sim card is not authorized on this network." But taking the sim card out of the HTC One M9 and testing them in a Lumia 950XL, and Galaxy S6 it works perfectly fine with data and calls. Also testing the working sim cards from the Lumia 950XL and Galaxy S6 on the HTC One M9 results in the same "Limited Service" notification on the phone.
Things I have tried:
1. Putting tape in the sim card tray to increase the height of the sim card so the pins make good contact
2. Setting the APN manually or manually selecting the network
3. Testing the sim card on another phone
4. Testing working sim cards from other phones on the HTC One M9
5. Re-flashing the official 6.0 update from HTC - RUU_HIMA_UL_M60_SENSE70_TMUS_MR_TMOUS_3.39.531.7
6. Turning Airplane Mode on and turning it off to attempt to get the phone to connect back to the network
7. Disabling all other wireless services i.e. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc...
8. Removing the sim card and turning the phone off and waiting 5 minutes, putting the sim card back into the phone and powering the phone on
9. Removing the sim card and turning the phone off and waiting 5 minutes, and then turn the phone back on and then inserting the sim card
10. Booting into the phones modes and wiping all data and cache and restarting the phone
Pretty much I am at a dead end here with this phone. It seems to be a re-occurring theme with the HTC One phones where you end up with the "Limited Service" notification. Long hours of Google research yielded that there were problems with the HTC One M7 & M8 having the same notification issues. I was going to attempt to unlock the bootloader in order to flash custom roms onto the M9 but HTCDEV's website has a broken registration button that is linked to an HTML anchor (#) and submits no data from the form into their database so you can actually register. Attempting to use the WayBackMachine to see what that button was linked to yielded no help at all as it was still linked to the # anchor and pointed nowhere. As in HTML the # anchor just makes the page jump all the way back up and submits no form data into their database for registration. In this case it just jumps to the top of the page and erases all data filled in the registration form.
So pretty much I've exhausted all my resources and the only answer is to get access to HTCDev's website to unlock the bootloader but the registration process is broken for quite sometime now. I suspect the problem is either with the latest update or broken hardware but cannot confirm as I can't install any custom roms to test the hardware. The only other option right now is to take the phone apart and see if there is any loose parts or damage inside the phone but I don't have the correct torque tools to remove the screws.
Any help appreciated.
I can almost guarantee that the phone is on the blacklist and your sister has become a victim of insurance fraud.
Double check with the carrier and if it is blacklisted hand it in to the police with the name and address of the person that sold you it and explain your situation and that the seller might have committed fraud.
