Hi all
I got a O2 orbit. It is ok for everything, but Valid time in QuickGps was not updated when i connected to PC or WIFI, it updated only Download Time. I tried to many time by installed Copilot6 first or after...as the same results. Another point, I did the hard-reset to be back manufature system, Quickgps give me the same result. What is the problem with O2 QuickGPS? (normally, QuickGPS is always updated itself when it is connected to internet connection)
......Help me......
thanks all to read and help me to get a solution

i have had to disable the reminder..
hi
i have just set the date on my Orbit to the 7th december and quick GPS downloaded and showed 3 days on the valid time..
reset to correct date ran QuickGPS and valid time has reverted to EXPIRED.
Yesssss..indeed
......... WHY? it works when the date is not real......why?
thanks.....
Yep,l I have the same problem, I turned the notification off until I find a solution.
Have you installed the TomTom desktop on your pc? If not do it and then put in your tomtom sign-in and password. It then opens everytime you connect your Artemis
Snap - same expired message (and over enthusiastic startup of Copilot).
So, not having read this thread I've already done a hard reset on my XDA Orbit on the basis that there was an error in the ROM. (I sought a ROM download in another thread)
but... At the moment I have not loaded Copilot... and I'm assuming it's not just diue to that!
Also, based on the feedback others are giving (not TomTom's advice) I'm probably going to get TomTom6 and ditch Copilot. Probably flash and copy flash onto my 2gb mini sd.
HI
well HAPPY NEW YEAR just fired Orbit up to go out for a hike and QuickGPS now functions correctly can only think there must of been an issue ith the received data. i guess time will tell.
FYI i've been for a small hike using Memory map on the Orbit, been there done it and the Orbit still shows 50% batery left so i have left the application running to see how long i can get with the GPS running alongside memory map very impressed so far..
i'll post a note how long it lasts..
Hi
Well with memory map running and backlight set to dim after 3 minutes i received low battery warning 10% left at 7 hours 45 minutes. device switched off after approx 8 hours and 15 minutes.

My QuickGPS wasnt working either so I turned notification off. But got TTNAV6 working today, went to check QuickGPS for first lock on and it had already updated earlier today! Maybe it was an issue with HTC's / TomTom's server. Anyway appears to be working now.

I have the same problem , since 28 Dec. 2007, and need a help
Hi!
In my Artemis is annoying problem. Navigator 6.03 stops opening, when "the hands" are on the display. This happens about three to four times a week.
I have to make a soft reset after that. (I use TomTom daily.)
The second symptom, which probably comes from above, is that I can not make a phone call. All things seem to be OK, but I can not receive or make a phone call. (I give pin -code and the phone shows good fieldstrength.)
I have Vanilla 1.0 in my phone.
Please, help me. This is the only problem, what I have with Vanilla 1.0
"PS. I think I found the reason. See below!"
I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago (I'm using vanilla 2.01), but it was not once a day, but everytime I tried to use it.
I solved it taking the TomTom files from a backup that I had from my microSD, and overwriting the ones that I had at that moment.
Since then no problems whatsoever.
Hope it helps.

Did you make a backup copy of all in microSD, formatted the microSD and put all back?
I just copied the files from the microSD backup that had to do with TomTom (f.e. Program Files/Navigator), and put them into my microSD overwriting the ones that I had at that moment.
It seems that some file was corrupted, and making this solved the problem.
Get update from myTomTom
Hi,
there is an official update specifically for the Artemis / P3300. If I'm right it is version 6.2. The freeze of earlier versions is a known issue. Get yourself an account on mytomtom.com and look for updates. You will find version 6.2 there.

Hi!
I cannot find any other than 6.03 -version. Could you send me Internet site address.
Hi
I am using B&B 4.3 and Tomtom 6.030 bulid 8230 without any problem.
Try disabling POIs from Tomtom and observe if it still crashes. If it crashes or not, you need to update to 6.030. You can download it from tomtom website.

Thank you, that will be the cause. I removed TomTom and loaded it again. Let´s see, if it freezes again. It has not done it in three days.

The phone was shut down during the night. I opened it and started TomTom. All went OK. I shut TomTom and wrote sms -message. The writing was quite sticky. Artemis did not send the message, because it was jammed.
I took away all POIs and loaded the map again.
I hope this solved the problem.

You dont need to delete POIs. Just disable them from displaying when youre running Tomtom.
Change Preferernces > Enable/Disable POIs
then untick everything.
TomTom used to crash on a regular basis on my Artemis because I had it overclocked to 286MHz and when it was plugged in to the car charger the battery was getting very hot so it would freeze then reset after 5 minutes or so. Very annoying but I now have to restore the original clock speed each time I use TomTom, this may well be the issue you're having?
Change your SD... I had freezing problem with SD and microSD on both 9100 and P3300. After using new hight quality cards, no more problem.
Probly I found the reason
I think I found the reason for my problem, when TomTom freezed, when loading it.
I had enAlarmPPC v.3.3.1 -program, which caused that. I removed the program, and I have had that problem any more.
Now every time, when I change the time, I got an error message: "Cannot execute\Storage card\Program files\enAlarmPPC3.3.1\enAlarmPPC.exe"
I can not get rid of that message. I have souhgt it in the registry, but there are no mention of that.
Does anybody know this problem?
PS. I got a little program, which took away that error message. I could find it here: http://www.maik-wiege.de/en/FAQ/enalarmppc/uninstall.html
I've had just the same problem with Tomtom and had to keep restarting my PDA to get Tomtom working again.
Then I realised that whenever it ist stuck with the "hands" in the bottom corner but won't display tomtom screen, there is a "notification" waiting to be displayed.
Once you've tapped on the "Notification" text at the bottom left of the screen to clear all the notifications, then Tomtom will display itself again - without rebooting the PDA....
let me explain what happened my roomate gave me a sd card with tom tom 6. He has a mogul, dont know where he got the software so I inserted this card on my 8525 and it installed automaticaly it worked fine the first time with my keychain gps receiver theN I had one of those winmo crashes so I soft reseted my phone after that tried tom tom again it would not conect to the receiver no mater what I did. I supposed it would be just a ttom issue but I was wrong it would not work with google maps or live search I never had this problem before then I hid the tom tom files so it would not instal itself hard reseted.. bum back to normal gmaps and live search work again the next time I soft reset the same problem reapears doesnt work any more so I asumed if I flashed a diferent rom the problem would completely desapear but I was wrong. it works the first time after the first soft reset it doesnt work any more Im thinking about trowing this **** away have been flashing roms like crazy, not paying atention in class, not doing my homework,Im getting sick and not solbing my problem. are the bluetooth drivers ruined? i do not understand this issue.
Hi all.
I have got myself an early Touch Pro 2 and installed TomTom 7 - all works fine - same as on the Touch HD. However I get a strange problem with the GPS signal display - all the bars are blank - even when the signal locks.
I am using 7.450.9028 - i can't get 7.451 to work as it complains its not for this device.
I also have iGo v8 working fine on the TP2 and the GPS satellites display fine on that - iGo detects COM4 just fine. I had the probem before I installed iGo 8 by the way.
Any help appreciated - I can't see other people with that problem on the Touch HD so its a mystery.
thanks
mike
Honestly since the phone hasn't been released yet I doubt that anyone will be able to help you, but also maybe the official touch pro 2 will not have this problem when it comes out. Last, how did you get one?? Do you work for HTC or is there away for anyone to get one?
Sure - understand. I guess i'll just have to wait :-(
I have a friend who has a friend. It can't be long now i assume..
On the test one i had 2 weeks ago i installed TT7.915 and it worked well.
ok thanks. i will try and locate and install that version.
to be clear 7.45 works just fine - its just you get no idea how close to a lock you are - which can be a pain.
that said it's introduced me to Nav n Go 8 - which i hadn't lookd at before - pretty impressive UI inc the motorway signs i see TomTom UI is moving to.
Got too used to the TomTom voices though - so will need to install those which I see is possible.
thanks for the tip
Hi, I have bought a TP2 and I am having difficulties installing TomTom7 from microsSD. Get the device is not compatible with this version of TomTom Navigator error message. TomTom support are no help. Is there any simple fix for this?
I have tomtom v7 working fine, but it is a 7.9x version, which had a few fixes in (apparently) for internal GPS devices.
also worth applying the GPS delay fixes that are in the Wiki as it reduces lag.
Hi,
I've search the forum to find my answer but with no result... Let me explain my problem:
I'm using Christians WM6.5.1 ROM (latest build). Everything works fine except TT7. I've tried several caps but none of them works perfect... The thing is that it won't recognize the build in GPS module. The app says "No GPS device!"
I allready tried to set the settings to "Another NMEA receiver" on the GPS-baudspeed of 57600 and COM:4... But it won't work...
With my TyTnII I didn't experience any problems but I'm pretty desperate to find the solution so I won't need my old Garmin Nav.System any more.
Does someone has an answer to my problem? Or maybe the same problem?
Please help!
hi.
i am also using christian's rom and i am using tomtom 7 without any problem.did you update your gpsfix data?use quick gps and update your data.if you cant get proper signal it will show 'no gps found'.once you pick up the signal it will work properly.
good luck.
Well the main problem is that the gps device that is build in the xperia x1 wil have to find the gps locations..
The first time it will take about 2 to 10 minutes before it finds the locations. After that first time it will take a few seconds to 30 seconds before it finds it's locations..
I had the same problem and it drove me crazy untill I found 2 posts on the internet that saved my life.
Just place your Xperia somewhere on a table in the garden and wait for it to load.
Greetings from Holland.
If I'm not wrong you should use the internal GPS and set the baudrate to 4800. 57600 is way too large.
Okay, I don't use Win 6.5, but also using 6.1 57600 is not working.
Hi,
I've tried your tip but without any results... TomTom tells me that there were no satalites which I was conected to but still got my location pretty pointed...
I drove the entire way on my TomTom but without GPS fix... I downloaded the newest position with QuickGPS before I ran TT7.
Could this be a bug or is it locating me on another way...?
i am using tomtom 7.915.9196.vga_black.cab without any problem.which radio version are you using?seems you are having very weird problem.good luck.
I use TTN_7.916.9189 and there are not problems
got christians rom too and tomtom 7.xx runs better than under windows 6.1 stock rom
Got it working... Don't ask how I did it Cause I really have no clue...!
But I'm really happy it finally works! Now I've got to see how I can get it into my "On The Road" panel to set it as my default navigator
also using christian's latest clean WWE rom.
it does find some satelites in tomtom 7.9xxxxxx, but still not possible to navigate or find a way.
what did you do?
i even let tomtom run till my battery got empty, but no luck?
maybe its the radio, still got the old one i think?
going to update to 7.915.9196.vga_black.cab now, hope that helps
