XDA 2s questions - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Ok just got a XDA 2s(XDA 3 to some people)
its unlocked etc
but i want to know if its possible to install or flash summit to get rid of all the o2 branding on this PDA/phone
also anyone know if tom tom bluetooth works fine on these

You can uninstall the O2 active stuff from remove programs..
TomTom BT works perfectly on mine.
Hope this helps
Richard

you unlocked it or it is unlcoked already?

had it unlcoked for free from O2

how can i remove o2 from programs when it says it is running and im unable to stop it?
would this remove all the start up etc too?
basically becuase im running orange and it still has o2 stuff all over it

1. Boot screens are changeable
2. Using Settings\System\Memory to remove o2 Active will work if it
says still in use Click END TASK then soft Reset your Device
3. Get a theme Generator to make some lovely new themes up

You may not like this.
Hard reset the XDA, go throught the calibration and stuff. Then when you are told config complete, and the next screen says custom config will start in 3 seconds, soft reset the device before the three seconds are up.
One non O2 XDA. You will need to unlock the ext rom, and runa few files from there to get mms and other bits working.

Downgrading? no problem

I figured this out by accident..
I upgraded to windows mobile 2003 SE 2.06 but after I found out that half of the programs (MMS composer, cammera, etc..) dont work, due to incompatibility (error message says they are incompatible) I wanted to downgrade.
I ran the same ROM instalation (2003 SE 2.06) and waited for it to erase my ROM, then I took the phone out of cradle. I was dead at that point. I removed main battery, put it back in. Reboot the phone in bootloader mode (hold down D pad in centre position, then power button and soft reset - all at the same time). Then I put the phone back into the cradle and ran the ROM instalation of my choice. No more problems.
Well, I think using SD card method may be saver.
However, I forgot how to do this.
Cheers,

I'm on O2- should I leave it on basic mode, or dump the ROM?

I've already told it not to give me access to O2 Active, whatever that is...
Currently my new device is on Basic mode, where everything should work with O2 network already - certainly browsing, texting etc works a treat so far.
Should I use corporate mod eand set things up manualkly, or wipe the ROM and install some other better one?
Just want to know before I start installing stuf!!

Orange SPV M2000 - I need to get rid of the orange settings!

I have currently the orange SPV m2000 PDA and I'm looking to update the rom so that it has normal software settings without any of the orange settings. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to download the rom with some instructions on how to do this please? My main aim is to use it with a GPS cradle that currently has issues with the orange settings that cause a conflict. I have been advised by the manifacturer (GlobalSat) that once I reset or update rom to non-orange settings this will work. Thanks in advance to anyone who comes up with the solution im looking for. Pascal
If you give hard reset, wait till screen calibration is done and press soft reset while device is installing. That's how I've got mine TMO free.
that is a way of doing it.
BUT
it will also not install the Fixes, MMS setting, and additional sofware etc, etc, not associated with Orange.
You best bet is to Cook the Ext_Rom yourself, and take away the Orange Install .CAB.
thanks for that info, can you help me a little more please?
How do I cook the Ext_Rom myself?, and take away the Orange Install .CAB? or is there a new rom I can use to go over this current one?
many thanks for your time and experience.
How much do you know about the Blue Angel and its software & programs etc etc.
Do you know who to unlock the Extended Rom?
I know a little bit.
Dont know that much but have a good knowledge of computers & installs so with some pionting in the right direction and some instructions I should be able to to do it. I appreciate your help and thank you again.

Problem with performing HSPL

I downloaded Rhodium-HardSPL_V2_00R3_185HSPL.zip and unzipped but i cant perform hard spl using this.. it says error[246] device not responding.. it is not allowing me to perform both the automatic and manual hspl.. even i hard reset my mobile before performing HSPL.. I am in UK using Tmobile Touch Pro2 ROM version 1.86.401.0 (67102)WWE; Radio Version 4.49.25.17.. Please anyone help me to perform HSPL and install the Cooked rom...
Edit/Delete Message
Is your phone service on? It can't perform HSPL if it isn't on.
You might want to check that your phone is synced to Windows on your computer.
Vista needs Windows Mobile Device Center installed to sync I believe.
Had lots of issues doing the same thing to my Tilt2.
Here is what I did. I deleted any partnership in Activesync (probably did nothing but did not hurt)
downloaded enablerapinew.cab and installed it on memory card
did a hard Reset (actually 2 but hey who knows)
Moved enablerapinew to phone, removed SD card and ran enablerapinew.cab let phone sync with whatever name it wanted.
Once synced I ran the installer in automatic and it worked.
I spent 4 days trying everything so there is hope.
Thank u INRBigness i removed my Memory card and it works... Thank u very much
flashing touch pro 2
i have tried every trick in the book to get the hard spl on my touch pro2 from sprint. i am ready to give up and just suffer with the stock rom. please help!
As the OP's device is in this shape in his other thread here it's no wonder the HardSPL is not working.

HELP!! Deleting Sprint Software

Hi,
I've got a TP2 on 6.1 and i cant upgrade to 6.5 yet!!
I bought the phone from the USA however, I am based in the UK.
Its on a American phone network called Sprint... none of sprint software/malware!! works for me in the UK. so I need to get rid of; Sprint TV, GPS, Music all off my phone!!!
I have downloaded Google Maps and went to use the WM for songs on the phone already.
So the help I need from u lot, the collective of PPC-Genius' is...
How do I get rid of this software without Cooking (making a WHOLE NEW ROM) for my phone. All i want to do is get rid of them.
If this can be done, can you give a simple step by step guide. i have already tried a hard reset, and once it loaded up again SPRINT WAS STILL THERE!! and there was no prompt for a soft reset during this whole process.
Please help, if you think you know how to.
I guess this all is cooked in so if it isn't in Settings -> System -> Remove programs, then you can just only HSPL your phone and flash some ROM on it.
Or you can simply delete it from Start menu by going to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and delete the stuff you don't want to show .
not good...
It looks like it is COOKED IN... but i cant remove it on "remove programs" and if i know its still there it aint gonna change anything but worsen my ppc's performance.
another thing is.. this software is on the TF3D menu as well...
so How do i un-cook it then? i don't really want to have to cook up a new one.. but if i do can i find tutorials on here/youtube?

Following those steps is essentially doing the same thing an uninstaller would do for you.
