hi
does any one know.... the clubimate initially posted a date of sept 30 but thats like half a month ago...and then no news..
i was wondering if any of you know>>>
They have released a new ROM. It's on the site. Go look on their site - http://www.clubimate.com
inspectorgadget ...the rom posted (though has a higher version than the ones shipped on the devices originally) but is actually the same version literally..the imate ppl by mistake put an arabic rom for jasjar as UPGRADE on their site which when used by many many ppl to upgrade led them to have a very expensive paper weight... the imate ppl then to correct their fault released the current rom (with a different version number to differentiate from shipped roms) so that those expensive paperweights could be used as pda's and phones again...
at that time when this debacle happened imate support ppl wrote on that very page that infact the correct rom UPDATE (not restore) would be released sept 30th....that date has come and gone half a month ago..and there is no official news on that jasjar support page anymore regarding the actual ROM UPDATE... hence my question here...
No it is not technically the same ROM. Try a search on the forum....you will see that they originally posted an arabic rom, then they posted the original rom to fix that mistake, and then they posted the new rom.
The rom version shipped with the device is:
Rom version: 1.12.00
Radio version: 1.03.00
ExtROM version: 1.12.132
And the new one:
Rom version: 1.13.53
Radio version: 1.03.01
ExtROM version: 1.13.137
I'm not sure what the new features are exactly, but I do know that the operator gprs/mms settings are now installed for you when you hard reset the phone, and there is an antivirus cab file too which you can install, but I lost mine.
There is also now application signing too, which is annoying, but can be disabled in the registry.
People say there is more free memory after the update...about 7mb I think.
hi
the antivirus **** cabs been on mine since start...and after unistalling the back gammon, antivirus and skype cabs after hard reset the newer versoin of the rom has infact 700kb less space than the original one shipped on my jasjar
Need Help Please on jasjar new rom
I loaded the new rom on my jasjar and my whole screen disappeared and I don't know how to bring it back to life.
I tried to reset in every way but it comes back to the same black screen and I'm not able to sync. I'm pulling my hair

1)dont panic
2)search for UNI_ExitBootloader.zip. run the exe in it to get the things back to normal. This often happens with g4 universal.
And yeah, make sure that the activesync is set not to listen the usb ports
jasjar is not seen on USB
I have the same problem with my Jas Jar, after trying to update.
I tried UNI_ExitBootloader.zip but unfortunately the connection with USB does not recognize the device. I checked the activesync connections settings many times, but the Jas jar is like dead. Is not recognised by the USB!!!!!
any suggestion......

I have tried to call them as well as emails with no positive response or care about their product, so I am going with these guys are really good try this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421102 is really good and fast and in top of that is stable
hey everyone i recently purchased a cingular 8525 with wm5 and decided that it would be a good idea to upgrade to wm6 (don't know exactly why but i did it) anywho... after i did so i found out that the wifi does not work anymore and i'm new at this so i have no idea what could possibly be the prob. Before i upgraded the os, wifi worked like a charm didn't really have to configure it or anything just detect settings and available wireless signals etc and that was it. pleeeez ppl who ever knows what i'm talking about please pretty please help cuz this is annoying me
Hi
Which ROM did you upgrade to, also, did you flash HardSPL before that? which Radio ROM are you running, and does the WIFI actually turn on when you use the comm manager?
I upgraded to the WM6 Cingular USA version, I did not flash HardSPL before that. I assume that unless the upgrade from wm6 changed the Radio ROM I am running, I’m still running the same one that comes with the version of wm5 that came with the phone when I bought it (btw what is a radio rom? Sry for my ignorance) And yes the WIFI actually turns on when I use the comm manager in fact it all seems to work fine but I just cant access the internet with it, even though it detects a signal. It stopped working the moment I upgraded to wm6
After flashing roms I had the same problem..make sure under the tab network adapters the line that says My network cards connects to..is set on internet..most roms start out with it on work..that change always works for me
So i deceided to downgrade the rom from wm6 to wm5 and yes apparently it has something to do with the rom version because my wifi connection works again!! with the old version which is wm5, but the moment I upgraded again to v6 it stopped working and like I said everything in the settings seems to be working fine, there’s just no internet, I should just be happy with the old version of windows mobile but version 6 has some features that I really liked does somebody know why this is happening? and if yes is there a solution? It might b more obvious than I think but I really don’t know so I really appreciate those who post help and advise thank you!
Put it back to WM 6.0..we will figure out what is wrong. There are alot of really good people on this forum and the answer to your problem is here. WM 6 is so much better.
Thanx for the support and the advise. So i installed another version of wm6 this one seems to be for Dopod but at least the internet works!!, the one i previously installed was an official version of wm6 for cingular which like i said before, for some strange reason i was not able to use the internet with wifi my only concern with having this Dopod version is that... well... its for the Dopod and does not come with the features that cingular offers to AT&T/ cingular users like myself. But then again it seems like everything else works just fine I just wonder why the cingular version doesn't work?
Sounds like your a little new to this. Here one of the golden rules:check out the hermes wiki and learn alittle about the flashing process and the different roms and their settings. There are alot of good roms out there that set up for ATT users, like K's Rom ,which is what I've been using for months. Works fine right after flashing. It has the right amount of programs and tweaks. Do alittle research and it will be worth it. It may take a couple different roms to find what you are looking for. Make sure you HardSpl your phone(the guide of flashing is in the wiki) Good Luck
i second blackout128's post
read the wiki
install hard spl
flash to your hearts content!
although, make sure you read the threads first! good luck and welcome to hotel d'hermes!

Had same problem with WIFI using (RUU_Hermes_CINGULAR_WWE_3.62.502.3_6275_1.54.07.00_108_UOOS_SVN05_Ship.exe) ROM. Had to disable the Cingular proxy. Select: START-PROGRAMS-PROXY MANAGER-DISABLE PROXY. After that, was able to connect to the internet with WIFI.

I have the same problem, but I have a FULL version of 4.02 ROM (ENG). The problem is exactly the same - after some time (one night for example) the "phone application" stops responding when I want to make a call. I think it's the ROMs fault. I thinking of going back to the original WM5 or original WM6 from HTC.

Just try it another new build ROM.

Hi Zecanilis,
I encounter the same problem that is described here by user kosiara an Novy
The GSM signal is excellent, but the phone does not work from time to time and when I try to make a call, I get the message "the operation failed". of course nobody can reach me neither... When I do a soft reset everything is back to normal...
This is very anoying and I do not know what to do.
I bought this PDA second hand, with the upgrades already done for me. Since I do not have any personal data or programs on it yet, I wouldn't mind doing a hard reset and installing everything from scratch.
What would you suggest as a stable system OS and ROM versions?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Here are my actual data:
XDA Orbit
IPL 1.25.0001
SPL 1.11.0000
GSM 03.08.90
OS 3.13.0.0
ROM version : Artemis Touch 4.02 WWE
ROM date 4/08/08
Protocol version 4.1.13.52
Model Nr : ARTE 200
WM 6.1 Professional
CE OS 5.2.19199 (Build 19199.1.0.0)
Regards
But, yet again, I don't understand...
Vanilla 4.01 and 4.02 seem to be very popular and appreciated roms.
How come we are the only ones to complain about phone not working properly?
Is it really the OS build? CE OS 5.2.19199 (Build 19199.1.0.0) I don't think so. I have seen it also a lot in Devices.
What could it be then?
I hope it is not a Gsm radio hardware pb......
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I'm not "guessing". I had the same problem and i think my problem is solved after this new rom i have.
Just try one recent build of OS. My build is 19591.
Before upgrading, just turning off and on the phone in the "comm manager" whould give me that problem sometimes. Now i've allready tested it and all is ok.

I experienced that problem a few weeks ago and it's happening more often in the last days. My ROM is Artemis Touch 4.02 full.
Some people started complaining that they couldn't phone me while I didn't see any problem with my phone (as long as I didn't try to make a call myself).
Funny addition to that problem: Sometimes I find my phone (usually in the morning) with a blank white screen. I don't know why that keeps happening but I sure would appreciate any hints what's the root of all that evil.
I'm happy with the 4.02 ROM so I'd rather avoid some things if it keeps the ROM stable.

when you installed your new rom did you flash it twice ?
this will make sure that all system files are copied 100%.
its really important to do this on all new roms that you install.

Thanks for your answer. Yes, I flashed it twice and I even flashed a factory rom before that. All Artemis Touch roms were fine until 4.01 and 4.02.
So Zecanilis is probably right blaming the OS version for that malfunctions.
New Rom
I have flashed my device using USPL (took me 2 days to setup the program to work with vista drivers). Then I flashed the same ROM I had before (Artemis Touch 4.02 full Red and Black) but with a different OS build. (as Zicanillis advised)
I will use it for a while and let you know if the freezing phone problem has been corrected.
Cheers
One other change that is on my build is page pool.
My page pool is 6 MB, and some Touch and vanilla (included the 4.02 i had) is only 4MB.
In my opinion that could be another issue to test.
My PDA is working just fine now.
Cheers
For me the problem was the OS Build.
I flashed my device with the same 4.02 vanilla but with a different OS buid and the Phoneworks great. Been using for 2 weeks now, never freezes or looses signal.
Cool
Thanks to Zecanillis advice! obrigado !
After trying six or seven WM6.1-based ROMS from three different cookers (19199 and 19209), I'm starting to wonder if there's not something 'seriously' wrong with the WM6.1 base image.
I begins to strike me as some sort of duration-based memory degradation. My experience has been that runtime lasts between 2 and 48 hours before a hard reset is necessary. In my case, I pared my installs down to adding merely my password safe as the only add-on, and still it crashed.
The most interesting pre-crash was going to "Programs" and noticing the number of icon substantially reduced (...and reducing...), and the remaining icons as default program icons.
After about five days of fighting with these and trying different methods of extending runtime, I reloaded an older copy vp3G's 3.0.0 from last summer and haven't had a problem for the past 72 hours. In fact, I had no lock-ups with WM6-based, previously.
I'd be interested in other people's experiences with WM6.1-based ROMs on the Hermes...

i may be wrong, but i think recall reading that flashing back to your stock rom, then flashin to 6.1 may fix some hard reset problems....
as for me, ive used 4 or 5 6.1 roms and havent experienced a hard reset.....my latest and favorite so far is faria's and dr.p's 6.1 rom, been running a week no hard reset...
im usin an at&t branded 8525
i was having a few issues with this but ended up changing radio versions from my standard 1.16 to 1.48.
havent had an issue since doing that.
i had the crash problem also, but after I not install htc cube in any of the wm6.1, everything ok and stable.
problem is with cube in wm6.1 i think.
Faria's is the best so far, but they all have problems to varying extents. Have you tried running Oxios Close apps? That will help you claim back memory and maybe help prevent the need for a hard reset. you can get it here: http://www.oxios.com/memory/

Interesting. I did notice that on some ROM flashes that boot screen retained a previous ROM's splash. That might mean that some ROMs are not including all facets (OS, Radio...Bootloader?) of the complete image. Will give that a shot now that I'm back to a stable WM6.

Radio is 1.45 with vp3G 3.0.0. Will check again after a Faria re-flash and upgrade to 1.48 if it isn't included.

I had that thought too, but my last ROM didn't include any of the HTC apps, at all, so I think it's some conflict or something lower level. The cube 'is' a resource hog, however...

The resets are always due to hard lockups, and they can be with only Activesync running as an application. I try to keep the number of running apps at a minimum for reasons that are probably fairly obvious to all here...

Im also having the same problem .. all sorts of experiments has been done to test on why WM6.1 crash when I install them .. but 1 thing i noticed that it always hang before softreset that eventually lead to hardreset .. i thought hardware accelerations problem ... so what i do is .. every WM6.1 i changed to 8mbpp .. until now my machine ok.

Flash to stock rom then to wm 6.1... Apparently there is a problem if you flash from big storage rom to wm 6.1(not sure why this is so) but there have been a huge number of people who say this works for them, myself included.... I tried every wm6.1 rom that came out then doing something stupid eflashe stock os. No problems with wm 6.1 since. Also I believe that 19209 is somewhat more stable than versions 19199 or 19202... I'm using PDAViets 19209 rom, just changed to black edition, and have had NO trouble EVER since installing it when it first came out, no soft resets and more importantly, no hard resets... Cheers

After trying almost everything to get more than a few hours of runtime out of WM6.1, I followed the above instructions to the letter and WM6.1 has worked for 24 hours now (yes...a new record). I will update in a few days if the Hermes/Faria 6.1 combo continues to function.
One note: I was not able to use Vista to update to Hard-SPL after the Stock AT&T 6.0 ROM re-flash. Each attempt resulted in an updater error on the PC after the handheld entered bootloader mode. Did the same procedure on XP and it worked flawlessly.
Hey. Had the same problems but i solved it with flashing a AT&T Stock Rom first.
Now my Hermes with PDAVIET B&C WM6.1 Rom running like a flash
Without any freezes.

Hi all - sorry about this, but I'm new to this. Got an Orange M700 - still running the original Orange branded WM5 OS: yup, Orange have mangled it. I've been reading the (many...many...many) threads and the wiki and... well I think I'm more confused than ever.
So, just wondering if someone can advise me on the best route to upgrade, and bear in mind I'm a graphics guy....
So, briefly
from the Orange WM5, is there a straight one-step upgrade to WM6?
What .cabs/versions should I be looking for? -> I know there are many you guys have tuned. I guess I'm looking for a fairly standard one? Unless you think otherwise!
Are there any major caveats (other than warranty/support invalidation)?
Need a little hand-holding...
Thanks in advance.
Hi, welcome..
I have M700 too, took the plunge a while back and loaded one of Mun's ROM's.
All I did was install activsync onto my pc and hook up the phone for the first time, once that ran its course I unplugged the phone powered down and removed the sim & sd card and then powered back up again.
Once up n running I plugged it back into the pc and ran the rom I had chosen, yes I was worried it might go wrong but I have to say it was and is very simple n straight forward. There is a WM5 Orange backup rom on here so if you ever did need to send back then you can flash this back onto the phone so it "looks" normal, tbh I'd doubt it would come to that.
I was using XP-SP2 at the time, not sure of anything different for Vista but that's where others here will put you straight, since then I have altered rom many a time and finally settled for Tom's Black'n'Blue - nice and fast and room to add what I want to add rather than be given. Oh and also update the radio rom to the latest version too, pretty much the same method.
Have a look at the roms and decide what you want Happy modding...
Only "gotcha" try and flash from XP, it is rumored to be problematic on a vista PC.
Also be warned flashing ROMs can be addictive, think i have tried 8 or 9 on my Trinity to find one i like, have yet to try the MUN one suggested in the previous post, looks like it will be next.
Ah, twas an early Mun rom and was WM5 - like I said the very first rom I'd flashed so I wouldn't flash to that now
Also realised why i hadn't tried it, i have tried several 6.1 ROMs and none of the WM6 ones. Probably will now i think about it though.
spv m700
Just joined the forum, thought I'd say hi.
I've just bought an spv m700 (following 2 years of the great spv m600), mainly because I wanted inbuilt gps.
The previous owner flashed it with Windows Mobile 6.1, I've yet to really test it.
First of all, I'm going to re-install all my Spb software (spb time, spb backup, spb mobile shell, etc) and transfer contacts etc via active sync.
If anyone has any advice or tips n tricks that you feel may benefit me, I'm all ears.
Cheers,
Matt.

First of all, welcome!
You have to know that the key to knowledge is searching, reading, and if none of those work, asking through posting!
So, happy enlightment and enjoy your device!
OK Monkeybox - hold out your hand - here's mine.
First thing - choose a ROM (sorry, you'll need to make your own choices). Judging by what you have said a LITE ROM would suit your needs.
I have tried most trinity ROMS. I like ADW's ROMs, am currently on Akeo's ROM but have tried LVSW, mUn, black and blue, PDAVIET, FInixNOver, ervius etc etc etc (Sorry if I've tried and forgotten your ROM!). Once you have your ROM, you should unlock the phone
1. (Hard-SPL - Service Providor Lock). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299659 This will enable you to flash a ROM with different carrier ID to you SPV M700. OK - Once you have hard-spl'd your phone, find the RUU (Rom Update Utility) exe file within the ROm that you downloaded.
2. Connect your phone (windows XP is best) using activesync and when activesync is connected, run the RUU Updater. The phone will switch off and go into "bootloader" (coloured bars on screen). If you get a connection error here, just run the RUU updater again. this time things should get going. When finished - your new ROM is installed - no more Orange!
3. Next update the Radio - search xda-developers.com using google for Trinity Radio - and choose 1.46 or 1.5x.
4. Install missing software (generally you'll need a GPS navigation software at least).
5. Enjoy.
6. If you like a ROM - donate to the cooker
7. Get a flashing addiction
8. Read all of the Kitchen threads
9. Cook your own ROM
10. Share it with us
11. Be eternally happy

Thank you, and all others who have responded, for your greatly appreciated advice! I've been trying to get my head around the process. Have backed up using PIM backup and settings saviour... and with your hand holding, am about to dive into the world of modding!
It's a little daunting for a newbie (and I really do mean a newbie!), but with everyones help, and this fantastic community as a resource, bah, watch me fly! (I'll probably be back tomorrow asking how I can de-brick the phone ;O) )
Thanks again all.
Cool. Upgraded to WM6.1 - Akeos latest black one.
Have to say the functionallity is 10 times better already. Upgraded to the latest radio too.
HOWEVER... and this is where the newbie kicks in, I can't seem to start any data sessions. IN COmm manager I don't have the option to turn the data connection on (this was also the same prior to the radio upgrade)
Don't suppose anyone knows how to resolve this do they?
As I say, taking my first steps on the modding ladder, and it appears I may have slipped...

You have to define your data connection from "Start, Settings, Connections, Connections, My ISP, Add new" according to your carrier (ie GPRS, 3G). Same goes to configuring MMS, just that you do it at "Start, Settings, Connections, Connections, My Work Connection" and you also have to define it in Arcsoft MMS.
You will not be able to start them from the CommManager as they connect on demand as needed, but you can STOP the in the CommManager when they are connected since they don't disconnect automatically.

Once more, thanks to all who've helped me over the threshold - the data connection must have been an issue with the signal, as this morning it was happy to connect to mms/internet via 3G/GPRS and HSDPA (which I didn't even know Orange supported).
Cheers all. Your help has been absolutely spot-on. It's refreshing to come to a community where you not only happy to help newbies, without the usual sarcasm or pomposity you find elsewhere, but you do so in a clear and concise way that really does help.
Thanks all. Look what you've gone and started now... !!!
One happy newbie stepping out into a brave new world...

have fun with your spv
I have a problem, and the more I search the forums, the more I worry it may be due to an upgraded Rom.
The original owner of the spv m700 I just bought has by the looks of it debranded it and installed WM 6.1:
Device name: HTC_P3600i
Model NO: TRIN100
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
ROM version 3.03.751.5
ROM Date: 04/01/08
Radio Version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol Version: 32.53.7018.01H
With Tomtom 6 installed and seemingly working, the GPS receiver is not being detected. I have done what the forums say, i.e. selected "NMEA GPC receiver", get a screen with:
COM3: GPS in COM9
COM7: RIL on COM6:
S2410 IRDA
I have clicked on the first option (COM 9 is recommended), but still no GPS device found, indoors or out, after 10 minutes of trying
Like I say, much info says the above should solve it, but others say an upgrade can knock out the GPS and it needs to have a different ROM reinstalled. Never done this before, and there may be an easier solution?
Help anyone.... please.......?!
I'm not 100% sure but I think your radio rom needs upgrading to support GPS - I'm sure the one's that do have 11 at the end of them..
Really?? It would be great to finally reach a soultion!
Can someone verify if this is true and if so, what do I have to do??
Thanks.
Hi Monkey Boy and all.
I think I'm in a similar situation that you were...
The original owner of my new spv m700 debranded it, unlocked it (by flashing an old radio ROM) installed WM 6.1. I now fear that the reason tomtom detests no GPS device is because the radio may need updating too... (see below for the spec on my phone at the moment).
Have you discovered which is the best radio to update to?
Device name: HTC_P3600i
Model NO: TRIN100
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
ROM version 3.03.751.5
ROM Date: 04/01/08
Radio Version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol Version: 32.53.7018.01H
All advice and recommendations welcomed. I have never flashed anthing before so this is all new to me, but I like to think I learn fast...
Thanks,
Matt

Original owner would have done this to unlock it, so all you have to do is search for the latest radio rom and flash that to your phone - there are guides how to do this in here..

Hey Trixter.
Thanks for the reply.
I managed to get in touch with the original owner and he sent me a link to an an .exe file which I downloaded, ran whilst activesynced to my phone, and voila! I now have radio ROM 1.50.08.11. Tomtom 6.03 now successfully works using settings "other NMEA GPS receiver" with "GPS baud rate 115200" and "GPS in Com9"!
I'm a novice and bought the phone as a "pimped up" spv m700. But I'm learning loads since joining thanks to people like your good self answering posts, so thanks.
Matt
Thanks to seeing your signature I'm sorted! If you read anyone else with the same problem, I hope my experience helps them.
Thanks again for your time,
Matt.
