Hi all
I have a problem, my mda vario compact III wont start,
when i start it, i see t-mobile screen and thats it. I wait for a long time, the same, just t-mobile screen. I tried to hard reset the phone, it worked, the resetting, but still the same problem. Then i tried to get into boot mode, i it worked, i saw a few different colour screen, with the version number. Then i tried to sync it with usb cable, it detects and installs, but active sync doesnt work. There is no memory card in my artemis, i guess thats not a problem.
Does someone know how to reflash or make this problem ? i would appreciate it,i
i did nothing with it, it went just like this, before a installed a game on it, it froze for a while, and then i didnt use it, and the next day using it, it reacted strange,

maybe the professionals can help you out,
are you sure you did a hard reset and not simply a soft reset while pressing additional buttons? i dont want to embarass you, but you wouldnt be the first who thinks he did a hard reset. was there a question about losing all data and that you should press the green dial button?
if a hard reset doesnt work, you could try to flash a different rom using either usb connection or sdcard. just search in this forum or here or here to find how to flash. if you use a non-orignial rom, dont forget to use uspl before you flash the rom.
I flashed my phone a couple of weeks ago with Schaps 4.31 Rom. It has been working a treat ! This is the first time I flashed a phone and I followed MR.Vanx instructions.
All was working fine untill yesterday. I had my 3rd freeze of the day. Oh well I thought, thats 3 in 2 weeks never mind must just be having a bad day.
It got worse. I soft reset my phone and now all I get is the Olipro bootloader 3 colour screen ! So I took the battery out and left it for 2 hrs. Still the same.
Whats wrong with it ?
Does this happen like that ?
Can I recover or do I need to flash again or is this permanent ?
HELP HELP HELP
Anyone know ? Phoen still not working. Can someone help ?

<Sarcasm mode> Thanks. Like I never thought to look there. </Sarcasm mode>
I was more interested in the other questions I asked ... IE is this normal after 2 weeks operation ? etc
no, shouldnt happen like that. try putting the .nbh file on a sd card after formatting fat 32. rename to hermimg.nbh then put in phone. if you're in bootloader it should automatically start the flash. this should get you out of bootloader and back into windows. make sur ebattery is more than 50% by putting on to charge for awhile first. hope this helps. Cheers.
Thanks for the response.
I think I can do it via USB as usual I am just waiting for the phone to charge a bit first. Obviously with no OS I have no idea how much battery % it has !! DOH !
Oh well I will post back for those interested once I know if it is goign to work or not !
Previously been stuck on bootloader before, and I just flashed a different ROM via USB. This worked fine for me. Would also try what ultramag69 said previously
Suggested sd as this has become my favourite way of flashing. No chance of NASTY accidents like computer resets, someone unplugging usb or other little things t5hat seem to happen to people as they flash there precious hermes. Sorry if this sounds like a hard sell but I really believe this is the safest way to flash your device. I've even flashed below 50%... Plugged in power. Was in a rush and had no time. Its never failed while I have had bricks and glitches with the usb. And thats my two cents......
Well it just gets stranger, I waited untill the phone was fully charged. It was plugged in to PC via usb swtiched off so I could see the charge light go green. When I switched the phone on with USB connected to go to bootloader screen to reflash, it booted windows !
Its now working fine ! I did nothing except charge it.
How very dare it !
Suggest you check the device for bad blocks.
Put the device into bootloader, start mtty.exe
connect to USB and run the command "Info 8".....this will report if the device has bad blocks (three should turn up even on a normal device).
then run "task 2a" to fix any bad blocks that are evident.
It might be worth flashing a new ROM to it to overwrite any corrupted sectors, just as a precautionary measure?
Have you tried hard resetting the device by holding the 2 left and right buttons (below the screen) and then reseting with the stylus?
This will then ask if you want to reset to factory..or if you have a cooked ROM reset back to the cooked ROM?
Helped me out and then promptly re-ROM'd the thing...
Hope this helps.....

Ok had a problem today JASJAM seemed to loose phone reception has done this before , since I had the offical Telstra ROM on there for some time thought I would re-install , however stopped at 12% then was stuck on bootloader, tried the SD card method above get through the IPL , BOOTLOADER SPLASH 1&2 and EXTROM but seems to stay on GSM in the list any ideas as to what the problem maybe?
You need to loas SPL 1.01 MFG, then connect using MTTY.EXE.
after issueing:
USB>task 32 (you will get)
Level = 0 (now issue)
USB>set 14 0
USB>task 8
p.s. if you have other than SPL 1.01 MFG, you may need to use set 16 0 or other value. Do search.
Now the device should boot, if it does not:
Press the soft keys (the ones below CONTACTS and CALENDAR) together with the RESET. The device should go through installing windows procedure.
Good luck.
Simple.
I installed Nataly Rom on my phone and since that time, my phone start to hard reset more and more often (3 times today)
Now I don't think that this has anything to do with the rom, but more with my phone.
Now, If I turn on my phone, I just get my red vodafone screen and nothing else happens.
I tried a hard reset, even with a complete format, wich now puts my phone completly bank, but still it won't pass my red vodafone screen.
Does anyone have suggestions of how to boot it up again?
please help

try putting your phone into the bootloader screen and reflash with another rom.
I have a friend that had this problem with his phone. In his case there was a problem with the pagepool, installing a different rom as cobbs stated was the solution for him as well.

some of us have had this problem already - my advice- use tbe search function 'cmd task 29' is the answer
Hi Gort
Thanks for the wonderfull advise.
I already thought my phone was a gonner, but now I can work with it again.
For all the people who experience a phone that keeps hard resetting more often and eventually cant boot at all, here's what to do.
Procedure:
1. bring the device to bootloader.
2. Launch ActiveSync on PC
3. Go to connection settings
4. Uncheck the Allow USB Connection
5. Now, run mtty1_1_.42_538 on PC.
6. If you have run mtty1_1_.42_538, just press the button USB
7. Type CMD
8. Type task 29 and let the program do his work a bit.
9. after that, flash with the rom of your choice
here is the link to mtty1_1_.42_538

Thanks for all the help guys, most appreciated
and hopefully this thread will help others now as well

i ask as i updated my radio last night for the 1st time in aaages and the phone turns on etc as you'd expect. since then though (this morning) i've had random reboots. i've got recovery images of different roms and both do the same.
i tried a clean install of a new rom and it reboots while installing, i try to install again and this time it gets to the "press on the droid" option when it reboots again.

Weird..did u try flashing a different radio?
not yet. in work for a while longer. the only other thing i can see it being, is the kernels in the rom i'm using now, using too little voltage.
might try flashing a different kernel
I have had this problem before & as has been suggested a different radio did solve the problem. Hope it turns out something as simple for you.
As a last resort try wiping and flashing an RUU, that will replace the kernel, radio and rom
yea, had a thought on doing that too. grabbed 2 of em (not sure which i need) but today it's not rebooting
ok, somethings gone real wrong now. cant do anything more than go into fastboot. recovery causes a reboot with 7 vibrations on the boot screen and it wont go past it. i can go into fastboot/fastboot usb and that's it.
how do you flash a ruu now? i found a guide but it refers to downloading .zip images and putting em on an sdcard? i could only see .exe ruus
Just run the ruu exe while your phone is connected in fastboot. Do you have the ruu that was originally on the phone?
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
trying it now. got the ruu downloaded. tried it before but got some funky errors
phones doing some funky stuff at the mo. if this works (i hope) then i can use unrevoked and then alpharev to get root/s-off later again yea?
ta mate
Yeah, you can do that.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
coolio.
worked. now booted up. wonder what the hell happened though!
Dunno but I guess you're relieved
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
i am, but tried 2 pcs and my netbook, installed usb drivers off their site but just cant get unrevoked working for my desire.
off to try the old goldcard method
odd, even the goldcard tool didnt work. did a year or so ago when i 1st rooted. had to go old school on this thing.
edit
and after several tries, alpharev doesnt work
cant make the phone reboot when it needs to. worked last time with opendesire with no probs at all. no joy with oxygen though, or the default sense rom
ok, thanks to the forum, i've got opendesire installed now and i think somethings up. after an install (clean) it locked. hard. 3 finger salute didn't reboot the phone and had to pull the batt out (other roms caused reboots instead). i decided to take the sim out - and nothing. no more locks/reboots at all.
i'm gonna try the sim in another phone tonight and see what happens.
something very off with this phone.

I had this problem after I flashed a radio. I ended up sending it back to O2 due to a corrupt radio/cpu stack on the actual device.
Hey i hope all is good.
I really need your help. I have a TILT 2 cell phone and by mistake a friend activated the bootloader. Previously the ROM has been updated. the phone got stuck in that screen and the only way to turn it off is removing the battery. so, i try to reboot the phone and it only loads the bootloader with a flash message saying "no image file". ok, i though, the ROM was damaged and after reading a lot in the forums, i followed the instruction to put a new ROM. I connected the phone the the computer and the message in the phone changed to USB and my PC installed the HTC USB Sync driver (but Active Sync does not detect the phone); anyways, i ran the task 29 and a new rom. I was able to see the progress bar in both (PC and Phone) but then the phone reboots and loads again the bootloader. I tried to use the HARD SPL 1.00 as well but it does the same thing after finishing the flash it loads again the bootloader.
can some help me pls?? i'm new in this and the phone is a work tool for me i really need your help.

You should do the HSPL before flashing a ROM (unless it was already done).
I would try to flash the newest HSPL, then a ROM.
Hi, and thank you for you reply.
I already did it and apparently it flashed the HSPL . Now in the bootloader says SPL 0.85 OliMex; then i flashed the ROM and it showed me the progress bar in both system (PC and phone) but when it finish it booted back to the bootloader. I just noticed that sometimes (after been off for a while) if i turn it on it boots to the rom but it happens randomly and if I turn it back off i just got the bootloader again.
I really need your help pls

Hrm, have you tried doing a task29? Re-flash the ROM after task29.
yes already tried the task 29 and then flash the rom but the same issue...i've been reading a lot of post regarding issue with the bootloader and follow the instruction but nothing seems to work. I even tried the update from the AT&T site but the same issue...i have no idea what else to do

So you've flashed the stock ROM? Have you tried relocking? Probably won't do much, but worth a shot I guess.
When you flash back to stock you flash the stock ROM, then relock, then reflash stock.
Yes, but the issue persisted.
I have noticed something. If i leave the cell phone turn off for a while (hours) and then i turn it on. Most of the time it works and all the things are fin; but as soon as i turn it off and turn it back on the bootloader starts appearing.
So, now i can use the cell but i cannot turn it off or leave the battery died on me...any suggestions?
BTW, thank you very much for your help

My phone is never turned off. I'm not sure what else to suggest, you've tried seemingly every step that could remedy this problem. Radio firmware probably won't help, but it shouldn't hurt either - you could try a new radio...
hi , this happened to me, solved it by reloading the rom again via sd, once it finish maybe you will see the bootloader screen again, so with stylus pres the reset buttom a few times until the rom boot , this can take several times to make it boot. after revive your cell , do a task29 then reload the rom again then do a hard reset, this happened to my 2 times, and its still alive ,good luck.
Same Problem
Hi,
I'm having the same problem. Installed the latest official ROM from HTC/ATT (gorgeous), and same problem after install. Whenever you try to reboot, it gets stuck in the bootloader screen. The last 50 tries it will not reboot at all, even after removing the battery and hitting the power button. This used to work occasionally.
Any other process anyone knows for getting the device to read the ROM?
Is the phone just worn out?
I suggest you reflash the shipped rom to your device and after the flash finishes and your device begins to boot immediately remove the battery to turn it off before it boots. Then replace the battery and press and hold the Send and End keys and while holding them down press the Power button and follow the instructions to factory reset(hard reset).
