Help, Cant start artemis ( mda III ) - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi all
I have a problem, my mda vario compact III wont start,
when i start it, i see t-mobile screen and thats it. I wait for a long time, the same, just t-mobile screen. I tried to hard reset the phone, it worked, the resetting, but still the same problem. Then i tried to get into boot mode, i it worked, i saw a few different colour screen, with the version number. Then i tried to sync it with usb cable, it detects and installs, but active sync doesnt work. There is no memory card in my artemis, i guess thats not a problem.
Does someone know how to reflash or make this problem ? i would appreciate it,i
i did nothing with it, it went just like this, before a installed a game on it, it froze for a while, and then i didnt use it, and the next day using it, it reacted strange,
grtz

maybe the professionals can help you out,

are you sure you did a hard reset and not simply a soft reset while pressing additional buttons? i dont want to embarass you, but you wouldnt be the first who thinks he did a hard reset. was there a question about losing all data and that you should press the green dial button?
if a hard reset doesnt work, you could try to flash a different rom using either usb connection or sdcard. just search in this forum or here or here to find how to flash. if you use a non-orignial rom, dont forget to use uspl before you flash the rom.

Universal (JasJar) is now brick after radio update attempt

Ouch!!!!!
I tried the radio update, during which I got a communication error.
Now I have a brick!
The blue i-mate screen comes up. the rom info is displayed (radio still says 1.03.00) and there it is stuck.
Now what? Hard reset? (how do you hard reset from that point?)
Bootloader? How is that done?
Please help. I am off to go under my blanket to cry.
Just retry the radio update again and again, put it in bootloader
How do I get bootloader? I tried the camera+power+reset combination but it still does the same thing, no bootloader menu.
Or do I have to have the bootloader files in the storage card first?
Can I also get help on how to extract the files. I don't know where the installer is putting the binaries, and at this point I would very much prefer not guessing what files to put where.
bootloader
try this
light + power + reset

That did something. Now I have a white screen (no light) that says "Serial" on top and "v 0. 60" at the bottom.
I have the following files in the sd:
EnterBL.exe
GetServiceData.exe
radio_.nbf
RUU.conf
RUU.dll
UI.dll
But it is not doing anything.
yes, now it's in bootloader. Now connect the jasjar to your pc and execute the upgrade. If it doesnt work kill the activesync processes (WCESMgr.exe and wcescomm.exe) and repeat the upgrade
OK! That seemed to work, but it still gets stuck at the bootup screen (except now it shows the new radio version).
The update program asks for a hard reset, but others in another thread mentioned they did not need a hard reset after this update.
Is there something else I can try before trying a hard reset?
I just spent a week to set the damned thing to the way I like, and don't want to do all that again.
I didnt hard reset. try resetting 2 or 3 times. If it doesnt work then hard reset
I took out the battery. Will wait a bit and try resetting a few times.
How long does it take for yours to show some activity after the rom versions are displayed?
It does take longer for this device to bootup, but I wonder if the new rom made a difference there.
Usually the blue boot screen disappears in 30 seconds. But when i installed pocket plus many times it keeped freezed and a had to reset 3 o 4 times.
Is your case?

Hmm. I don't have pocket plus, but I have the spb gprs monitor (or whatever it is called) at the startup. Maybe that's causing a problem with the new radio.
I will reset 3 - 4 more times and then do a hard reset.
If it does not come back from hard reset, the bawling you hear all the way out there is me.
he he . I ve spb gprs monitor too and it works fine.
good luck
When perform soft reset, wait 1 or 2 minutes before doing other soft reset
OK, now it is time to cry.
It is not coming back from hard reset either.
It is officially a brick. Any more ideas? Please?
thy to make the update again. Perhaps this revives it
if a radio update is available, maybe a rom update is around the corner.
Or just a recovery standard rom
Does exits an official rom to reinstall jasjar rom?
I am doing the radio update again to see if that helps.
I will probably need to contact imate support for a recovery rom image I suppose. I suppose I should tell them what I was doing.
But this update was from imate, right, so I didn't do anything "wrong".
If someone has a rom, please let me know.
So, I am getting the runaround.
iMate says they don't have the rom to send me and I should send the device to the service center. The service center says they don't work on JasJars there.
So I am stuck with a paperweight?
Try Hard reset....
Just try to Hard reset .. most probably one of your already installed S/W causes the machine to hangup.... once you clear after Hard reset it should boot up.. worse while before sending it back to imate and being blamed for loading un-official and not released update... Unfortunatly there no "shipped rom" yet. you best choice to recover the paper weight is to hard reset and perhaps load S/W again. ... I have been trying to dump the rom for days with no success .. once one of us can do it we are releaseed.
Good luck

Already did the hard reset (many times) and nothing changed.
The problem started after the radio update, and the hard reset does not reset that update (I see the new version on startup).
Unless there is a harder reset I can do, I suppose I will have to wait for the rom.
makes a grown man cry...

NEED HELP on O2 xda IIs - upgrade

"ba_o2asia_14000_923_11200_ship (1.40.00)",

now all that appers on my screen is "USB, v2.07" and i cant use my unit.....
plus when i click connect in active sync on my desktop it wont detect my device.
HELP ASAP!!!
Try a Hard Reset
Try a Hard Reset, Power button + Reset hole at the same time, if it doesnt work after that you need to try again from the begining. try the BA for beginers WIKI http://wiki.xda-developers.com and look for someone with the same device as you in the same country in the forums, check what ROMs they are using in there Sig in order to find the most suitable ROM to try and install that one..
Having said this i am not an expert buy any means, but this is what I have done.
After I just installed my new Radio Rom this morning I was prompted to hard reset, I'm sure this is what you have to do affter a full ROM update, good luck.
The v2.07 dosnt mean youve ruined it so keep trying..

Need Help!

I switched on my phone today, and it loaded the o2 screen, and now is permanently stuck on the Black and Blue screen.
I using Tom's B&B 4.0 touch-flo rom.
Please help!
try a hard reset, something similar happened to me when i was using a different rom and a hard reset fixed it, hope that helps.
Hard reset is when you push call and end buttons together and insert the stylus?
Didnt work either.
hmm.. maybe reinstall the rom then? Did you install any programs on the phone??
It's not detecting the fone, hence I cant even reinstall the ROM.
Is there any way 2 recover from this? Or did I just loose 700 bucks!?
Even problem whereas I had any concern with this version v4.0…
I flashé my artemis 4 or 5 times, it went super… (I would have of the Juste to make hardware reset…).
Since my 2 last flash, that blocks on the page during more 5min…
Flash after flash, always similar
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1445305&posted=1#post1445305
So wait, were you able to fix it?
As of right now my fone is sitting like a brick on my table.
Me I wait, of the blow I do not make more software reset…
I am obliged to await more 5min before being able to type my code PIN.
I do not include/understand, that had ever done it to me before this last flash.
I have remakes a flash, always similar, even while passing by a ROM Orange, as soon as I pass by again in V4.0, that does it to me!!!!
Its been over 5 mins for me and its still stuck on the B&B screen. HELP!
Make a hard reset and change the ROM....v3.7 for exemple...
Yea, I tried reflashing it, but the Rom update utility doesnt detect the fone at all.
Look this :
http://www.forummobiles.com/index.php?showtopic=139079
It's a french but it's easy with photo !
I read it, but because it never passes the boot screen, it never detects it hence it doesnt show up in the device manager.
What 2 do!?
Try hard reset again. What did you mean when you said it doesn't work? It didn't do anything? It tried re-installing and failed? What happened?
You don't need the ROM update utility to do a hard reset.
B&B 4.0 Getting stuck on the windows loader, is a know problem. TRy a hard reset to fix it.
Hard reset: Stylus in the hole on the side, and press the two " - " buttons between the red and green button.
This should fix the problem. Now you can flash another rom into the P3300. I'm, running 3.4 without any problem. I updated it with the HTC Tabs from Tom wich used in B&B 4.0.
The problem is that V4.0 functioned very well on my first flash…
while reinstalling the plug in HTC Home + the file SDK, that is better!!

I may come back, for now my Artemis is sitting, bricked, on my table and I've tried everything.
Someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
You need to flash via bootloader - hold record button down and soft reset - you now have multicolored screen - connect via usb and flash - you dont need activesync this way.

HELP Please

I tried to upgrade the ROM n my trinity without putting the device in the SPL. The device went dead completely and I could not start it on. I tried to soft reset, hard reset, and tried to get the SPL but nothing is working. When I tried to upgrade it gives message 260 “no connection”. Could anybody tell me how to revive my trinity or get it working again?
Been there a few times myself.
Do you live in the US? If so, I could call you and walk you through it, or MSN chat, or??? or if you'd rather, let me know and I will try to walk you through it in here.
I am in Europe, time difference is large, appreciate if you give step by step instructions in this forum. Thanks again.

I apologize jma81113. I was unexpectedly called out of town. My nephew crashed his motorcycle and is in the hospital, so I rushed over there. I'm back now.
Any time I cannot flash another rom, I am forced to flash back to an OEM rom, in my case, I use the one found here: http://www.dopodasia.com/download/RUU_Trinity_DOPODASIA_WWE_3.00.707.18_6275_1.46.30.11_108_Ship.exe
This flashes back the original SPL, Radio, OS, etc... It works best if you can do it from a Windows XP computer. If you don't have that option, there are ways to do it using Vista outlined here.
Then I always flash the Hard SPL found here. In my case, I use Des' Crash Proof. I've had the most success flashing Cooked ROMS with this one.
From there, Flashing Cooked ROMS should work just fine. If you run into trouble, you might have to flash back to the OEM ROM again. Occasionally, I have to. I keep a copy on hand at all times.
Oops! Actually, as I read back through your message, I see that you might be getting just a BLACK screen? Is this correct? And I assume by you saying you tried to get the SPL that you mean you pushed the 'power' 'camera' and 'reset' buttons and nothing? If that's the case, let me know and I'll do some more research.
Just so I know, do you get the orange LED lighting up when you plug in the USB cable showing it's charging?
SuperSport
I am sorry to hear about your nephew accident, I hope he is well and wish him well.
Yes I got a BLACK screen when I press the 'power' 'camera' and 'reset' buttons. The device is completely dead.
When i connect the device to the laptop, red LED lights up for 10 seconds and then disappears, I even changed the battery but no sucess.
Hard Reset?
Oops! Sorry, just re-read your first post. Looks like you tried this already...
The Black Screen is new to me, so I'm shooting in the dark.
You many have already done this, but, have you tried a HARD reset? Press the 'Calendar' 'Contacts' and then 'Reset' buttons all together. Hopefully this will bring up a screen that asks if you want to do a reset. Press the Green Send key and it will reset. Let me know if that works or not...
Buttons shown in attached image:
I have done it already no luck, it seems I am going to send it to the dealer in Malaysia. Thanks any way Supersport for your time and effort. Once again hope your nephew is will.

*UPDATE* Help - Phone won't boot after attempting Sim Unlock

Hi Guys,
I am aware of how to upgrade a ROM, how to Use HardSPL and how modifying in general works, although I think I may have really broken the phone now.
I had OliNex 1.40 installed since forever. I have used several Roms in the past including EnergyROM, Ahen's Roms and I have currently been using Makeveral's BSB6.5O Rom, and it was working great.
The last time I tried to use the unlock, i tried to flash it with the 'Subrata' unlock package (the one with Step 1,2 and 3' folders. It didnt work both times I tried so I gave up. It said it was unable to write to the phone. I reflashed with BSB Rom and all was well.
Today, I found a seperate unlocker. It was a simple .exe file that opened up what appeared to be the 'CustomRUU' application. The screen initially went black and then the program said that it lost connectivity. I did read that it used Cmonex HardSPL but I did it anyway (I take responsability for this error) and from then on, the phone will not boot. No matter what combination of Hard reset button combinations I use, nothing happens. No vibration, no light around the centre button that I can see, nothing.
So is there anything, anything at all that I can do? Or have i totally F**ked it?
I have also done alot of searching both on here, PPCgeaks, all the forums.
Let me know, cheers guys.
I had a similar problem: Screen was black, no reaction from the phone. But i was able to connect it to my computer, it was not really detected, even though
i was able to flash a new Rom with a Custom RUU. Perhaps you could try that?
Try to change the rom . Pull out the stylus , Press the reset button and hold the VOLUME DOWN and the right down button . After connect to pc
The phone is in an Off state - I recharged the battery in it overnight - no white glowing ring around the centre button. No combination of buttons work - nothing happens and the device is off still.
OK, regardless of what has happened, Ive sent the phone to Victoria (Australia) to be repaired or replaced under warranty.
I just hope that it is so scrambled that they cant figure out that the device has been toyed with - will keep everyone updated!
btw - does anyone understand what technicians with more advanced tools would be able to determine (if anything)? Do they use special hardware to view the contents of the ROM or how does it all work?
thanks friends
Well..not exactly, but they have probably tools to examine the flash/memory/parts of the phone. interesting question
Update!
I sent the phone away to the Three mobile repair centre - the phone is back, fully repaired and Running BsB again.... just awesome.
it seem they replaced all the components of the phone except for the shell itself, I dont really know why they didnt just replace the phone? lol
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I told them the phone wouldn't boot after an overnight charge - thanks 3!
Sorry for bumping.
I have the same problem! I used the same program; 'DiamonCustomRUU.exe'
The screen became black. I can't open the bootmenu, soft- and hardreset doesn't work
It's a Dutch branded Vodafone TD.
I have to send it to Vodafone for repairing?
