how to install windows mobile on motorola a1000

Is there any way i can get windows mobile OS on my A1000?
Is the hardware in it at least supported by windows mobile os?
Thanks for your answer in advance,
Kind regards
Kristof
That's not possible since Windows Mobile is installed as the OS by HTC/E-Ten during the manufacturing process. Motorola uses Windows Mobile in 3 of its smartphones though:
1) MPx200
2) MPx220
3) MPx300

Hi,
According Microsoft you cannot upgrade since devices that work on 2003 are not compatible with 5, see:

That's normally true but...when M$ were developing WM5 they tested it on a couple of PDAs including the Blue Angel. While not officially released by M$ - it has leaked out and you can use it at your own risk. One of the developers of WM5 has a blog where all this is explained. See here: http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2005/10/19/482683.aspx
WM5 on the Blue Angel is Dog Food. Read the blog and you will understand.

You have downloaded it from the Microsoft website?
Well, yea I did. But now it sounds that there is no official 6.1 update for some phones. I don't know, im new to this stuff.
Mh, there is no choice for a download from microsoft. Are you sure you download an update to Windows Mobile 6.1 and NOT to Windows OFFICE Mobile 6.1?
Like here: Microsoft Office Mobile 6.1: Upgrade
Later there will be an update also for the HTC touch but not now...
Hey, what you've downloaded is a smartphone edition. Your HTC Touch requires a Touch-screen version, which is known as the 'Professional' edition eg. WM 6.1 Professional. You should go to the 'Elf' section in this forum instead of this. This section is for users who do not possess a HTC-built Windows Mobile devices.

so an HTC touch is not made by HTC?
=p
no, this section. its in general discussion and is called unlocking modifying and upgrading. its for like dell, asus and other makers who arent htc, but need somewhere to mode and post their roms. i wold head here if i were you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366424
and if your touch has 128mb ram, its called an elfin, and if it has 64, its called an elf. its very important u dont get them mixed up.
the amount of ram you have can be found by going to settings, then the system tab then device information
Hope ive helped
and remember to use the search button in the top left.

Is there any way to install old windows mobile apps to windows mobile version 6.1 or

I recently bought the Inklink Digital Pen.
I think its a great tool for me to write all of my notes for my college classes and so that I have a hard and digital copy of all my notes
However, the mobile software for the pen can't be installed on my T-Mobile Dash Black (flashed with 3VO's latest WM 6.5 ROM)
Is there an app that will let me install the software for my Inklink Pen?
Or is there a compatibility mode for Windows mobile?
Thanks
