I have had a peculiar behaviour out of my phone since I bought it in July of last year. I have the SX-56 from AT&T and am using T-Mobile as the carrier. The phone will suddenly not be able to place or recieve calls until I do a soft-boot on the device. The behavior happened with both the carriers... any suggestions?
What's ROM and RSU ?
Rom Info
I am using the 3.17.03ENG Rom, and RSU A.20.10...

I upgraded to the new official 6.5 (sense 2.5) rom a few days ago and have since not been able to receive any text messages. I also put my sim card in other phones to test whether it was a network problem and I was able to receive messages.
If it helps, I am on the UK Vodafone network and the rom I downloaded was the European one. Since all the other settings work (internet, calls, etc), I assume the problem is something more deep rooted than the network configuration and possibly something to do with the compatibility of the rom on my version of the phone (unbranded European model).
Thanks in advanced for any suggestions. Otherwise i'll just have to downgrade again
Hi,
I had an OTA firmware update about a week ago and all seemed fine. Then a couple of days ago, I started to lose reception... and was unable to make/recieve calls. Initially I thought it was a network issue, then I discovered my work phone (also on Orange) had perfectly good reception. I decided to change network settings (GSM-WCDMA) and no luck. Then I thought I will change SIM cards, and now I get "No SIM card in phone". The original sim card works fine in my work phone, but no SIM card works in my HTC Desire!
Im pretty certain it has something with that OTA firmware upgrade. Also, when switching the phone on it constantly asks me to reset the time.
Any ideas what I can do? The phone is unbranded from CPW.
Have you tried a hard-reset? I'm not sure of the exact procedure, but I'd try that first, or maybe reflash the de-branded ROM to it??
I know the Orange handsets that had been de-branded SIM-Locked the phone after being flashed OTA (search the forums and you'll see) and to get past this you needed to get an unlock code from htccodes (or another)...
Hope you get it working matey...
Orange and T-Mobile have just recently made a merger so all orange and T-Mobile phones are having issues with reception, as for your issues have you got a stock orange desire or are you using debranded desire? If your stock try rerooting using a goldcard and see if this helps any

I have the i317m but i'm not sure which canadian company it was for i bought it off swappa and it was for sale as an AT&T note II. I haven't had any trouble with it until recently. For some reason the phone modem doesn't work anymore. i can only get it to detect a sim card if i'm on a stock rom but if i try and put a custom one on, then it stops working completely and i can't even get qpst to recognize it on a custom rom. Has anyone else had this problem and know of a fix for it?
Currently i have slimfastv4 as my custom rom and the unlocked radio because i use it on t-mobile.
Update: I found out that for some reason my phone reception won't work on custom roms but when i flash the stock rom through odin, i can make calls and send texts. i clean reflashed my current custom rom and i get signal bars now but it says emergency calls only. i have been using the same rom since july and never had a problem until now.
What model phone are you on? Two things to check.
1.) Make sure the ROM you are flashing is for the right phone you are using.
2.) Make sure you are using the correct APN settings.

my phone is the i317m i'm not sure which carrier it was on before i bought it off swappa and it was sold as an att note 2. i've been using the slimfastv4 rom since july and have tmobile as my carrier and use their apn settings from their site. i haven't had any problems until recently. i took the sim out because my step brother got a new phone from swappa and i was making sure it could connect to the network then put it back in. could that have caused my phone to not even recognize my sim or one from my old go phone?

i Think i found the problem. it was my sim. i got a new one today and everything works fine so my old one might have been damaged some how when going between phones.
Hi guys,
I had my Note 2 on Koodo network for less than a year. Recently I unlocked it and sold it to a friend. My friend is on Videotron network and the phone shows the signal with an R like if my friend was roaming however it works properly. I also tried switching the network manually but it doesn't want to connect to Videotron. Is there something that I need to flash such as modem maybe ? It's running on Slimkat latest stable version.
Hi the last week i update the Z2 force AT&T from 7.1.1 to Oreo. After updating I had no mobile network so I decided to flash another modem specifically Verizon but now I lost all the baseband the WiFI and mobile data doesn't works and it tells me that the baseband is unknown , i try to flash again the AT & T modem and nothing. Unlock the bootloader a while ago maybe that's useful.
WHAT CAN I DO?
The baseband says unkown because you used Verizon's firmware on an AT&T phone. I did this accidentally last week.
Now, when you said "After updating I had no mobile network" did it not recognize the SIM and have the little warning icon or did it just never connect? For the former, get a new SIM. I had this issue on a samsung with AT&T once. For the latter you might want to check your APN setting here:. https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1062162/
