Does anyone now how to access the Ati Imageon 3200
graphics chip on the XDA II?
There is absolutely no info on the web about that matter.

"Unlocking" KS20 CPU to fullspeed

Hi,
I heard that the KS20's CPU could be 528 Mhz like other MSM7200 Windows Mobile phones.
If the HTC TyTn II has the MSM7200 too, and also jsut 400 Mhz , could it be that with THIS HTC TyTn II Drivers it could work ?

[Q] Anything that shows off DHD GPU?

I keep hearing that the Desire HD has a very good ATi GPU but so far all the 3D Games i've played do not look very good and have no Anti-Aliasing. I saw a 3D game on the iPhone 4 that was using the Unreal Engine and it looked amazing for a phone.
So are there any great games that look really good and show off the Desire HD GPU to its full potential?
Also I'm wondering if its possible to force Anti-Aliasing on for games that do not have it enabled? (I.e. Need for Speed: Shift)

I don't know if we can force the AA to always on, but this is an open source system, i'm sure someone will able to hack the GPU driver..
For games that really push the gpu, try playing gameloft Modern Combat 2 - Black Pegasus or even nova.. Black pegasus really blows me away..
Em, for iphone4, it's not that great actually, even angry birds looks jaggier than on my dhd.. At least that's why i'm comparing to my friends Iphone4, and he even amaze with the graphic quality on my dhd..

i dont know who told you the DHD had an ATI GPU but your mistaken, the DHD dosent even have dedicated graphics, (like the iphone and galaxy s) it uses the qualcomm adreno 205 GPU that is part of the snapdragon chipset adreno does support AA and you can use it in apps like PSX4Droid V2 and such, also try dungeon defenders, its also a game that used the unreal engine, and defo shows off adreno to its max

Adreno is built by AMD/ATI and is indeed a part of snapdragon, but GPU and CPU are still seperated. So adreno is a dedicated gpu.

He is right!
Although in fact,Adreno was ATI until Qualcomm bought that department!

I didn't know that part
But amd still provides support to adreno or does qualcomm do that now? If Q does, than it's better to call adreno a Qnchip instead of amd

regardless of who started the adreno project, it is now owned and made by qualcomm, it was nintendo who first started the "playstation" project, with sony only as advisers but its not the nintendo playstation now isit anyway as for dedicated graphics, the term "dedicated" refers to the gpu having dedicated vram, adreno uses shared vram therefore is not a dedicated graphics processing unit

Well, don't know about that!I suppose yes,Adreno(formerly Imageon) was a part of AMD's graphics department.I have no idea whether it was before or after AMD bought ATI though...

1080p HD recording for Epic 4G

I've been seeing alot of the newer android phones getting an app to replace the other camera app that allows 1080p HD video recording. Theoretically this should be an easy accomplishment for some one to make this .apk. however its yet to be investigated. So if anyone has any idea if this is possible or even if there is already a way to get 1080p recording please let me know! =D
Thanks,
Aaron
if this could be done i would give 20 bucks but i think its a hardware limitation that software is unable to overcome.
Those phones have different processors, camera sensors and other variations. I seriously doubt this will be coming to the Epic any time soon.
Doubtfull.
I may be wrong but I think we are limited to the 720p because of our single core precessor. If you look all 1080p phones they are dual core phones. So hardware is the limiting factor.

According to the wiki, the camera on the Epic can only record up to 720p. Achieving 1080p could only be accomplished by scaling our videos on a computer after they are recorded.

Yes sir.....our phones need more horsepower, but how much more? There are some overclocked single core chips that can match or exceed duel core chips. Would an overclocked Epic @ 1.3 or 1.4ghz be able to accomplish this? Our Hummingbird chipsets have outstanding graphics processing capabilities. However, Samsung has been really lacking on their software part to push these phones to their full potential
Seems to me this is more a memory bus bandwidth issue than it is processor muscle. In theory a modest processor could deal with a very hi resolution video source if the compression method is efficient enough. The issue is having a wide enough bus to move that much raw video.

I understand the want to go bigger and better. But I made a 2minute video of my daughter splashing in some puddles at 720 and it was over 50mb! Try emailing that to grandpa. I had to upload it to dropbox and send out a link only.
I've actually scaled my video res down since then. Also, being on sfr my videos record in MP4 format, which is sweet.

[Q] what is tegra, powervr, snapdragon, qualcomm,..?? can anyone explain in brief??

can anyone explain in brief that what is tegra, powervr, qualcomm, snapdragon... i want to run dungeon hunter on my wildfire and i ahve read many reviews about tegra and powervr but i am still unable to understand..can anyone help...???
Tegra, developed by Nvidia, is a system-on-a-chip series for mobile devices such as smartphones, personal digital assistants, and mobile Internet devices. The Tegra integrates the ARM architecture processor central processing unit (CPU), graphics processing unit (GPU), northbridge, southbridge, and memory controller onto one package. The series emphasizes low power consumption and high performance for playing audio and video.
Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) is an American global telecommunication corporation that designs, manufactures and markets digital wireless telecommunications products and services based on its code division multiple access (CDMA) technology and other technologies. Headquartered in San Diego, CA, USA. The company operates through four segments: Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT); Qualcomm Technology Licensing (QTL); Qualcomm Wireless & Internet (QWI), and Qualcomm Strategic Initiatives (QSI).
PowerVR is a division of Imagination Technologies (formerly VideoLogic) that develops hardware and software for 2D and 3D rendering, and for video encoding, decoding, associated image processing and Direct X, OpenGL ES, OpenVG, and OpenCL acceleration.
Snapdragon is a family of mobile system on chips by Qualcomm. Qualcomm considers Snapdragon a "platform" for use in smartphones, tablets, and smartbook devices.
The Snapdragon application processor core, dubbed Scorpion, is Qualcomm's own design. It has many features similar to those of the ARM Cortex-A8 core and it is based on the ARM v7 instruction set, but theoretically has much higher performance for multimedia-related SIMD operations.
I did not understand your question btw.
Our little wildfire has no GPU so you probably wont be able to run high-end games smoothly!

How can it work on our wildfire. It is for devices which HAVE a GPU!!
And Chainfire3D has been tested only on:
- HTC HD2 (2.3.3 / NAND)
- Samsung Galaxy S (2.3.3)
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" (2.3.3)
- Samsung Galaxy S II (2.3.3)
- Motorola Atrix 4G (2.2.1)
- Motorola Droid 2
- LG Optimus 2X (2.3.4)
MOREOVER, Chainfire3D is for 1ghz+ devices only
So..I hope you get your answer!
---------- Post added at 01:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:27 PM ----------
Read this:
Chainfire3D is an intermediary OpenGL driver. What does that mean? It means that Chainfire3D sits between your apps and the graphics drivers, and can intercept and/or change commands between the two. It has some built-in functions, and can be further extended with plugins to provide extra functionality.

ZE50ML --> ZE50CL GPU Compliance

Hello guys, I worked on the project, which was related with screen live streaming from the phone we used usb-mini to convert it to HDMI 2.0 and we passed the signal through QuestTel B-QAM-HDMI-IP-2CH HDMI QAM Modulator, so we could stream screen to TVsets and over Internet, I tested a lot of devices with it - I can get a source from ZE50ML, but no video from ZE50CL, as far as I know they have PowerVR G6430 GPU and PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU. Are those chips compatible? I would appreciate any info about it, thanks to you all.
