Hello,
So, NO (Google results...) I don't try to root my phone, update to Android 13 or whatever (Google only gave me those kind of results...).
My phone is already rooted with Android 12 (OOS12).
But with the "new" (... no comment about "new") feature to allow a phone to simple be patched I cannot apply those patches.
It fails without any details so I guess Google just specifies in the code : "rooted = EVIL F*CK YOU ALL".
So is there a way to manually apply this kind of patch ? Or we are totally screwed with a "basic" Android 12 version until full update ?
Thanks !
Have a nice day.
What patch are you installing???
The OOS Android 12 patch from OnePlus?
Then yea you'll need the full update patch.
Install the full update patch - then do not reboot - until you Magisk manager app install root.
I use oxygen updater to download the full image zip.
Also as you probably know you'll need to install the local update service since it's no longer included in OnePlus Android 12.

Hello,
It's in French but as you ca guess with the red line the patch cannot be installed.
No I don't see what you mean with "local update service"...
If an update is available why do I need something else?
I know how to use Magisk.
My question was : is there a way to install this kind of update?
Thanks.

If you have root then you'll need the full update - not the incremental update
Edits : your screenshot seems to indicate the incremental update - according to the file size in mb? rather than almost 4 gig for the full update.
Incremental won't install with root as you stated you have now.
How to manually install OxygenOS OTA updates on your OnePlus phone
The easiest way to keep your OnePlus phone up-to-date is with the OxygenOS OTA. Here's how to install it.

Not sure what patch you're trying to apply, but 1+ no longer provides updates and security patches for the 7 series
Yeah sure...
Check your sources...
Correct...
However, the OP has Magisk root now (prior to the update) then the OP must install the FULL UPDATE as the incremental update won't install. 48mb is the incremental update file size where as the full update is almost 4gb (4GO in French?)
However, OP must disable all Magisk modules in use and reboot.
Then install the update - DON'T REBOOT
Magic manager app to install Magisk Root after OTA.
Reboot... Then Magisk manager to re-enable modules... And reboot

Yes I know how it works as I rooted my first phone more than 10 years ago (Galaxy 3).
Thanks anyway for the full steps as it can be useful for others. ;-)

Hi. So I rooted my OnePlus9 Pro after I bought it. But few days ago I updated it to Oxygen OS 11,2,3,3,LE15BA
And now I lost my root.
Can someone please tell me what I need to do to regain root access?
You need to install latest Magisk app, get a copy of the latest stock boot.img for your build, patch it and then flash in fastboot. See the Magisk General forum with any questions. https://forum.xda-developers.com/posts/84854149
So I went to this topic https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-patched-boot-images-for-all-builds.4262015/

Which one of those 4 files I need to patch via Magisk and which one do I need to flash via Fastboot?

The first boot.img is stock, the second one is "patched" with Magisk, the last 2 are just hash values used to compare what the value is supposed to compared to what you download to ensure the integrity of the download. So the short answer is if you want root, the second one, "patched" img

The second one that has patched in the filename. You will...
Fastboot boot magisk_patched.img and after boot open magisk and direct install.
If you already rooted, it will be the same process.
First, you need to read a bit more before doing stuff like Rooting, updating when rooted,...
Everything is explained here. Just need to to do a bit of digging so you can confidently do stuff. And when in doubt, ask before doing.
The first sticky thread has all the info you need.
To update when rooted, do THIS. Works perfect.

Follow the directions above, the next time you update the rom, ensure you install the update but do not reboot the phone, then go into Magisk and choose "Install to Inactive Slot (After OTA)", that way your newly updated rom should boot with root already applied. Magisk will then ask to reboot and should do so into the new version.
Thx everyone for the help, managed to do it
Have another problem. Lost my root after I restarted my mobile phone. Anyone knows why?
So I flashed magisk pacthed img in bootloader. After that I need to open Magisk and direct install that same magisk patched img?
Have you read the link I provided?
If yes, and you've done exactly like described, then impossible to loose root.
So, question: what steps have you done?

I hope you "fastboot boot magisk_patched.img" then once booted open Magisk and "Direct Install". You will now be rooted again.

Hello everyone, I am using an op9p with unlocked bootloader, and it is running oos 12 open beta2 now. Few days ago, Oneplus published a new update called C36, and I am trying to upgrade to it. However, each time I try to upgrade, I only got an "installation problem. Then I turned to the OxygenOS Updater, but even the update showed a "damaged file". Finally I download a file from the link, and I got a zip called "3a08e6de926493aedc3e04ee8b23476077c5b553.zip", which checksum is just like the pic

The expected md5 checksum in updater is "b121be03d8175bee2da76184a3719211", as you can see, it's different. But its SHA-1 checksum is just exactly equal the file name, so I am not sure about that if I have downloaded the right file now. Also, the local upgrade app can't see this zip.
Is there anyone already upgraded to the OB3? Or somebody can share his upgrade file? Thanks!

Pretty much yes. Unless some one can figures out some solution. I tried flashig stock vbmeta and boot. Still didnt work. This incremental bs is crap. This is probably my last op device...
Download the update.
Download the "Local Update.apk. Run it.
I had a similar problem. From OB1 (rooted) I couldn't get OB2 installed using system update or the local update app. I tried flashing stock boot.img and vbmeta to unroot, but it didn't make any difference. Finally after OB3 came out (I was still on OB1), I reinstalled OB1 full zip using local upgrade app, took the OTA for OB2, then took the OTA for OB3 before rooting again. But now I'm probably stuck like you until the next full update is released (or we have to roll back for stable).

Problem is to me... Oxygen Updater is loading a confusing long named zip file and the lokal Updater app didn't find the zip file on phone. The Name of the zip is wrong or something like that. Other Updates zip files with typical name does it find.
So, apparently a stable version of OOS 12 is rolling out in India. Just saw this on reddit.

Nope, I just tested it. It's working fine with both wifi and mobile data. Checked calls! Checked download speed / upload speed. Checked the strength as well. Tbh, it's quite good compared to the previous version.
Well, I think I will wait for more feedback, especially from global users from Europe
EU version on OOS updater also advising to hold off on updating as there's reported issues with network.
Also got the news for EU version on OOS Updater.
How would one install this when rooted? Same as other OTA updates?
Full install locally, Magisk to inactive slot?

I'm guessing it will work the same as open beta. For OB we had to actually flash a patched boot image and vbmeta partition after updating. I'm on stable magisk with OB3, not canary.

I recently got this phone, I like it, but I'm astonished that it seems that I'm unable to update it. I tried the standard OTA update, i tried updating by downloading the most recent official ROMs and nothing, i get always the same message: "Can't verify update - Sorry flash to this stable version is not allowed."
I was only able to update (by package) from the rom 12.0.18 to the rom 12.0.19, which has the security patch from 12.2020.
I tried to switch regions too and nothing.
Do i really have to unlock the bootloader on a new phone or am i doing something really wrong? How come most people are already on 12.5 and android 11 while I'm stuck on 10?

I had this same problem as you. I solved it by sending my phone for guarantee. I think they did as you wrote - so probably unlock bootloader and flash (and blocking during flashing). There is no other solution for this problem.
Maybe with MIUI 13 everything will be working fine (for MIUI 12 and 12.5)? I hope so.

Hi,
from my opinion, you can flash the latest version, without problem.
Just try the followings:
Settings\About the phone\MIUI version\
click on the MIUI logo 3-4 times, than you will get "extended" menu...
on the right upper corner, the "dots" = menu\select the update package...
look aroung the follong site:
Xiaomi Firmware Updater
The ultimate script that provides firmware packages for Xiaomi devices.
xiaomifirmwareupdater.com
BE SURE, select the correct version and download the full image for you phone... copy your phone, and select it with the update manager......

What did you do? Incremental update?
The current version installed on the phone is 13.0.2.0 (RLDEUXM - only SLDEUXM is available on the network). I have had the phone for a week. System application updates work without problems. Unfortunately, ROM updates are not performed. From what I read on the network, the phone should update to 13.0.3.0. I downloaded the file 13.0.3.0.SLDEUXM, but when I try to update manually, I get the message: Sorry, flash to this stable version is not allowed.
I have tried to switch region to Switchland, but it didn't solve the problem.
What procedure should I choose to update the rom?

Factory reset your phone (no SIM-card), choose 'Belgium' as your region and English United Kingdom as your language at first start, go to settings/about phone/MIUI version, click a few times on the MIUI 13 logo, go to the 3-dot menu/update settings and check 'additional updates early', REBOOT your phone, then connect to wifi en search for the new update (may take a wile at these settings, let it rest). Also go to settings/security status/google play sytem update and update to 1 july 2022.
If that doesn't work, unlock your phone with xiaomi unlock tool and flash latest EEA ROM V13.0.5.0.SLDEUXM with xiaomi flash tool (fastboot ROM is not out yet)

SAM, thank you for your support. When I install incremental package, I get message: Can't verify update. ROM package error. I think that the problem is with my current ROM. It is 13.0.2.RLDEUXM (Android 11). If I had 13.0.2.SLDEUXM (Android 12 I would probably be able to install all next roms.
So, I will have to wait for OTA update. If none arrives in couple of weeks than I will use MiFlash. I supose, I have to unlock bootloader first?
Strange, as there is no EEA V13.0.2.0.RLDEUXM to be found on the XiaomiUpdater Archives. Latest Android R is the (EEA) V13.0.1.0.RLDEUXM an then is goes straight to Android S (EEA) V13.0.2.0.SLDEUXM (did you also tried to update with this one and perhaps start from there?)
To use MiFlash you first have to unlock your phone, then you can flash any EEA Fastboot ROM you want ...
