I have a google pixel 3 XL cellphone from Verizon, the OEM option on my cellphone is greyed out, there is one question that makes me very curious, if I buy a verizon sim card and insert it into my cellphone then connect to the internet can the OEM option on my cellphone be activated???

No, there is no way to unlock the bootloader on the Verizon version.

Hi there!
My Galaxy Note II (which I love dearly!) is connected to Sprint, but I'd love to know which other networks around the world it can be used on (if flashed). I travel considerably for pleasure and for work, and would like this to be my "one-stop global phone," but I'm starting to think that's going to be harder than planned. Is there a list anywhere of providers around the world that I could use my SIM-less phone with? When traveling, I like to have a local number, but without a SIM slot, I'm beginning to regret not having gone with GSM.
Any insight would be appreciated!
You could do the sim slot mod that us posted in the general section. This way you can use a sim card when you go over seas.

Hi,
I just purchased a factory unlocked Galaxy S3 that was provided as a prize by Samsung Canada. It is supposed to be unlocked and does not require a contract. There is no branding for any carrier on the phone, the box, or the software on the phone. But when I put my Koodo sim it says Sim Network Unlock pin. From what I have read it sounds like it might be a locked phone despite Samsung presenting it as unlocked. I would by an unlock key if I had any idea what network it was supposed to be registered to.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
John

I am going to be trading my at&t s4 for a tmo note 3. The note 3 owner claims the phone is unlocked. Besides putting my At&t sim in the phone, is there anyway to verify? I thought i read somewhere that the 3rd party sites will unlock the phone but could cause problems later on. I want to make sure it is unlocked through TMO like he states.

There are two ways you can tell that Samsung Note 3 cellphone is unlocked, one way is with
a different sim chip like an Tmobile sim if it already has an AT&T sim chip in it.
The other way to tell for sure is to go into:
settings>more networks>mobile networks>network operators> and select "search now".
It may take the phone a minute or so to get the network information but after it has it
it should display both AT&T and Tmobile as an option as well as perhaps other networks
too like MetroPCS and so on.
If it only displays the network name of the current sim chip in it it's NOT unlocked.
By the way, 3rd party unlock sites are usually excellent so no need to worry about that.
Do I need to find a Verizon variant that is factory unlocked?
What other installation quirks are there for LOS16 on Google Pixel 1 (Verizon variant)?
Also, is VoLTE available for LOS16 on this device? I'm still unclear if it's the OS or the hardware that dictates VoLTE capability. It's important for Verizon customers since they are dropping CDMA Dec 2020 and switching to VoLTE.

I don't have this device myself but, have you tried asking within one of the following threads that's specific to your device?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3489001
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3830083
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3796030
The above are just a few applicable threads...
It just seems like the best place to start with these questions is by asking those who has your device as well as the Firmware too.
Just an FYI... There's threads that are located within the Pixel XL area of the forum that specifies Pixel/XL, Pixel-XL & marlin/sailfish. This just means that they apply to both the Pixel & Pixel XL as being Unified (aka applies to both device variants).
Good Luck!

Hi, 1st time poster here so I apologize if i am in wrong thread. My gf and i recently switched from t-mobile to xfinity mobile. I tried to byod, an unlicked S20. At first xfinity told me that device was not compatible. So my gf got a new s22 and I got the free phone they were offering. I then took the Sim card out of the free phone and installed it in my S20. Cellular service works fine. It recognized the xfinity Sim card and the phone is working on Verizon network. However my mobile data will not work. I've read on a forum in which someone said it could be a poet problem or that I need different firmware. I am not very tech savvy at least when it comes to phone operating systems. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
