[Q] CDMA around the World! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi there!
My Galaxy Note II (which I love dearly!) is connected to Sprint, but I'd love to know which other networks around the world it can be used on (if flashed). I travel considerably for pleasure and for work, and would like this to be my "one-stop global phone," but I'm starting to think that's going to be harder than planned. Is there a list anywhere of providers around the world that I could use my SIM-less phone with? When traveling, I like to have a local number, but without a SIM slot, I'm beginning to regret not having gone with GSM.
Any insight would be appreciated!

You could do the sim slot mod that us posted in the general section. This way you can use a sim card when you go over seas.

[Q] Go from Rogers to Public mobile

Very interested by the 35/mo plan unlimited 3G!
I contacted them and they said I had to buy a phone from them in order to use their plan.
"Sorry, but only Public Mobile phones will work on the Public Mobile network. Phones from other wireless companies will not work on our network.
You can visit us online at PublicMobile.ca to see our current selection of phones, plans and prices. Each of our phones come with a 1 year warranty:
If you have anymore questions or comments, please call *611 from your Public Mobile phone; 1-855-4PUBLIC from any other phone; or visit us online at PublicMobile.ca.
Thanks for your interest in Public Mobile.
Talk to you soon,
Alain"
I am wondering if this is absolutely true? I paid my phone so I am contract free and can change whenever I want.
It's correct. Public mobile uses a CDMA network. Everyone else has moved to GSM. You'll get slightly better results by trying wind but they're not 100% compatible either.
Not only do they use CDMA, they use a frequency band that no one else uses.

So I can't do anything right?
correct... in this case where they say you have to use their network then you have to... its not a GSM carrier so its not like they are saying no you have to use our phones because we want to make money even tho any phone will work if unlocked... in this case, no ... you have to use their phones

[Q] Factory Unlocked SGH-I747

Hi,
I just purchased a factory unlocked Galaxy S3 that was provided as a prize by Samsung Canada. It is supposed to be unlocked and does not require a contract. There is no branding for any carrier on the phone, the box, or the software on the phone. But when I put my Koodo sim it says Sim Network Unlock pin. From what I have read it sounds like it might be a locked phone despite Samsung presenting it as unlocked. I would by an unlock key if I had any idea what network it was supposed to be registered to.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
John
Fixed it
Fixed it myself by using this post.

[Q] Anyone ever taken their Tmobile phone to USVI?Roaming questions

I know this isn't really the place for this question as it's not technical. We're going for our 30th ann. trip to US virgin Isles in a few weeks.:good::laugh::good:
Tmo rep just informed me that while I won't be roaming and everything will work, there is a 100mb datacap. With no way around it. What the hell?
So my question now is, can I get a local sim card and put it in my s4?I would like to be able to access googlemaps on the fly for instance.
Anyone have any experience roaming on Tmo in the USVI?
100mb?
I can't comment on the 100mb thing, but afaik you'll need your phone to be unlocked before you can use any other sim. You can do that either by paying off the phone or the other method mentioned in this forum with a lot of success rate.

You should be fine. Its still part of the US. I moved back to St.Thomas for 6 months and didn't have any issues. No need to to unlock or anything

Sprint to us cellular?

My sprint contract is coming to an end and was thinking about switching to us cellular and giving them a try.
Can I use my sprint s3 on us cellular? And if so what do I have to do? I am rooted already.
Thanks

You'd need to flash your phone to USC. The process would be similar to flashing to other carriers, but you would need the USC info instead.

So thats all I have to do is flash a usc rom and get a contract with usc then activate my phone?
Thanks
Now ive done some searching but I dont see a usc galaxy s3 forum anywhere.
Are0 they hidden somewhere?

It's like teamusccellular.com or something
But you first need a USE pre-activated phone to pull the info from.

Bringing t-mobile s20 to xfinity mobile

Hi, 1st time poster here so I apologize if i am in wrong thread. My gf and i recently switched from t-mobile to xfinity mobile. I tried to byod, an unlicked S20. At first xfinity told me that device was not compatible. So my gf got a new s22 and I got the free phone they were offering. I then took the Sim card out of the free phone and installed it in my S20. Cellular service works fine. It recognized the xfinity Sim card and the phone is working on Verizon network. However my mobile data will not work. I've read on a forum in which someone said it could be a poet problem or that I need different firmware. I am not very tech savvy at least when it comes to phone operating systems. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
