I recently installed lineage OS 20 and I get no radio signals for 4G LTE or 3g at all what so ever is their anyway I can fix this? I really want to this powerful phone on the t-mobile network i wonder if their are a few settings that need to be changed. I also need gsm as well i seen it on the stock rom.
The model I have is the SM-A725F/DS
Make sure your APNs are all there and actually selected and that your mobile data access type is set to "4G (preferred)".

I've used my Defy in Korea and there was no problem.
Yesterday I enrolled T-mobile prepaid plan(Monthly 4G $50 and changed my SIM card.
Talking and Texting is working but 3g connection isn't working.
On the status bar, there is "G" sign which means GPRS connection (I found it in google)
When I used Defy in Korea, there was "3G" sign or "H" sign which means 3G/HSDPA(much faster than GPRS)
I think my Defy is only taking GSM(GPRS) frequency.....
I setup "*#*#4636#*#* -> Phone information -> WCDMA preferred or WCDMA only" but still not working.
Now I'm about to try to find a US ROM and flash it... Will it be helpful??
I don't want to lose all the apps & settings........ but if it fix my problem, I'll try it.
What do you think about my idea??
You don't need to flash a new ROM
Your problem is quite common because your ROM (Koren) uses a different baseband. The baseband for US 3G networks is different. Just download the Defy Baseband switcher app from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052745 and apply a Baseband for US. This should fix your problem. So, you won't have to loose your installed apps and settings.
How do you set 3G data only, dont want to use LTE to safe battery life.

In mobile networks switch network mode to wcdma only.
Edit: could be hspa only, depends on your model.
4g is not lte by the way. If youre on lte it says lte not 4g

lte is 4g on most roms that I have seen. Although I never used the lt28at just the lt28i and lt28h where hsdpa+ is called h+ and lte is called 4g.
There should be a toggle that you can download that will be able to click 2g 3g or 4g. I know on miui there is a toggle for that.
If you're using a Lt28at like me, you can't toggle anything but LTE. SInce the boot loader is locked it will give you the option to pick a different frequency, but will automatically revert back to LTE. Sucks.
The version i have only give me LTE data, or no data at all.
It is locked to rogers.
Can it be changed so i can use 3G only?

No. Your boot loader is most likely locked also. You can only choose LTE. The only other option is to find the APN setting for 3G and enter it in your mobile networks and choose it. It will only use 3G but your phone will always search for LTE by default. You will save some battery by going that route. I don't know what the 3G apn for Rogers would be, however or if there is one. AT&T has a separate apn for LTE and 3G. Maybe someone else here knows more...
Yea, i just found out this can not be unlock... thinking android can be unlock easily since my last 2 phones can do it.
I will find the 3g apn.
Hopefully someone can find a way to unlock it and use other rom..
So I own a D851, currently on T-Mobile with good LTE speeds in my area but quite often the phone switches to HSPA and doesn't utilize LTE coverage when I need it. I end up having to either switch data off/on or accessing the radio settings menu and setting it to LTE ONLY. I understand the slower network coverage saves battery but to just stay there I don't get when I'm getting download speeds of 9mb on HSPA and 30mb on LTE in the exact same spot. The thing that sucks about setting the radio to LTE ONLY is that I can't browse while on a call. Anyone know a workaround?

I had the same issue with ATT, unlocked phone. Made sure the APN was correct, tried may other APN settings, and finally called Consumer Cellular. They advised I did, indeed, have the correct APN (my first version). They did some type of reset on their end, and viola.
On my OnePlus it was the similar. APN was correct, same APN as the G3, but until I called CC, and their reset, phone would not show LTE at all, only H and H+

What are the apn settings that are working for you? I've tried several times to address this issue with CC but lte STILL isnt working on either of our 2 devices. Had no problems when used with an att account.

Hello everyone , I'm from Morocco and I need help with my device's Mobile Data.
To begin with, I've got an S4 mini 19190 3G variant, I installed a cyanogenmod ROM, it's a cm13 version, android 6.0.1. I'm using a TWRP recovery.
I've had a cm12.1 before and had the same exact problem: I'm always stuck on EDGE network .
I've gone to the settings, and made sure to choose 3G in the preffered network type.
My APN setting are correctly configured.
I've tried forcing the device to choose WCDMA by going to Phone Info. Choosing the WCDMA option disables Mobile Data and calls, with emergency calls enabled only.
Choosing the "WCDMA preffered" option doesn't change anything, it's still on EDGE.
I've looked for a solution, and noticed that some people had a problem with IMEI number, I've checked it, it's the same as the one on the back of the phone.
Anyone got any idea on how to fix this? Thank you .
Are you sure that your area has any WCDMA connection? Can you check with another phone?
Yes, I've already had H+ connection on the same phone but with a different version of the ROM, and my father has H+ working perfectly on his SGS5. I didn't try with another phone, I'll try and see if the problem comes from the SIM.
Omg Thank you! Why didn't I think of that! (How stupid of me) I tried my SIM card on a different phone (that had H+ working on it) and it went on EDGE network, and I chose WCDMA only and the connection was lost. There is a problem with my SIM card, I'm going to contact my service provider to fix this

I converted my VZW Note 4 to the De edition and i flashed cm13 and now it doesn't show 4G LTE anywhere and not even 3G, but it says i have service to VZW, but when i turn on the data it doesn't load anything and i've switched the settings around a lot and tried changing the APN and none of it has worked so far. I've tried a lot of things, i've flashed other roms and my data goes right back to 4G LTE, i've changed some of the settings in the mobile data and i've only managed to get it on x1. I can't add APN, and if i do change it, it disappears from the list. Also in my system info under sim status it says cellular network state: disconnected. pls help me
