My Red Magic 8 Pro has been stuck in a boot loop for 2 weeks now and nothing I do fixes the problem. Everything else works: Fastboot, fastbootd, sideload, and recovery mode. But nothing I do will make the phone boot past the logo. This problem happened after trying to root the phone and I flashed the wrong image file. Any help is appreciated.

I tried this, but everytime I do it, the update gets to 47% and then it fails and kicks me back into the recovery mode.

I have flashed the entire payload.bin before. Idk if that's what made it to where I cant boot into the system. But just from flashing the boot.img file just made it to where it won't boot past the logo. I did flash recovery but it still won't boot past logo.

Flash the recovery of the rom you want to sideload then use sideload to flash that rom.
It still gives me (ErrorCode: :kInstallDeviceOpenError) and kicks me back to recovery mode. The cmd also says 'Total xfer: 1.00x'.

Once in recovery.. Type "adb reboot sideload" then "adb sideload rom.zip"
You may need to format data.. You can do this from recovery or from fastboot "fastboot -w"
Oof.. Should have checked the date on this post

Ok. I was facing the same issue. I tried to adb sideload rom.zip from language screen. It wouldn't work until I selected language and typed "adb reboot sideload" then "adb sideload rom.zip" once completed select optimize update from recovery, reboot
It just won't install the update for some reason.

That's what I did. I would choose my language and then launch adb sideload. Then I would try to install the update in adb sideload but it still says 'total xfer 1.00x' and kicks me back to recovery.

Have you tried using the 3 buttons combo to flash stock firmware?
Download any UPDATE.APP put inside your sdcard inside a folder named dload so it should look like:
sdcard/dload/UPDATE.APP
Then just keep pressing Power+Volume UP+Volume Down buttons at the same time. this will force your phone to to into recovery (either TWRP or Stock). If this does not work try the following.
While Pressing both Power+Volume Down buttons connect your phone to the PC, it will look like the phone is again "stucked" in Huawei Ascend Logo, then usging a cmd inside the fastboot and adb folder type
fastboot devices
If you get any reply from cmd just flash twrp recovery again (manually this time)
How can he try update.app solution if he has custom recovery, he does not have a stock recovery, so your solution is pointless.

Pointless?
Have actually read what I wrote? He said, the program he used told him it succeed and now his phone is stuck. So it migth have worked or not, meaning that TWRP might or not be succesfully installed in his phone. And I also wrote that if that doesn't work (Meaning he can't boot to recovery by the combo) he can try to reboot the phone to fastboot and flash again either TWRP or Stock Recovery back to the phone...
So your reply was the pointless one here, not mine...

That's fine! That means your phone is booting into fastboot.
So now you should try to manually install TWRP to the phone just download TWRP recovery from this Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2534420
make sure to download latest version, and then rename it to twrp-recovery.img
After that put the file inside the folder where you have fastboot and adb.
type again fastboot devices and make sure you get the same output from CMD (a lot of ? signs)
and then type:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-recovery.img
after that
fastboot reboot
the phone will try to boot into system, if it fails try the three button combo and the you should be able to boot into TWRP Recovery.
Good Luck!

yes many times..
connect your phone to the pc..
wait 'til your pc recognizes your phone..
enable debug mode under settings-developer options..
then load the adb cmd console..
then type "adb devices" (without "")..
if your phone is found you can do the next step..
type "adb reboot bootloader"..
then wait a few seconds..
before this you should have put the respective recovery.img from your firmware inside the adb folder (from where you started the adb cmd)..
when your phone seems to stuck on the huawei logo you can check if your phone is still recognized by the pc - type "fastboot devices" - it should show some weird things - thats ok..
then you can flash the stock recovery by typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (the .img must be exactly written how you have it inside the mentioned folder, e.g. b512_recovery.img)..
then you should see some lines describing what the adb has done (sending, writing, flashing or so)..
and that's it..
you should have a stock recovery..
you have just to reboot your phone now by typing "fastboot reboot"..

Hi everyone !
Yesterday, I wanted to wipe cache for some reasons, and I stupidly restarted the phone while formatting cache.
Result :
-A bootloop at the firt restart, then a "Error !"
-Can't acces Recovery mode, "Error !". I tried power button+volum up, don't work.
-ADB don't work anymore, I can't see the phone via adb devices
The only thing I can do is execute fastboot commands in Windows. I successfully made a tethered TWRP recovery, but I seriously don't know what to do from here. I tried flahsing a ROM, but it didn't worked (still have Error !).
I tried install permanent TWRP (unofficial), but I can't acces it. Probably because my bootloader is locked.
So... what should I do ?
Fastboot format cache should do the trick.

You need to follow the steps in this thread to install drivers and adb package first. Fast boot firmat cache is the command that you should type in on your PC.
Just a thought but instead of trying to install anything through adb why not instal a pre-rooted rom img through fastboot too. You can always wipe out root with the next OTA...
I have already wipe cache and now boots up properly but the problem is that touch screen doesn't seem to work...
Can't connect my Zenfone 2 to my pc even though I have installed drivers and adb...
Hi,
I want to enable dualsim on my singlesim device and for that the TWRP has to be installed. After checking many threads, which less or more describe the same steps, I managed to unlock the bootloader and downloaded an "unofficial" twrp image for the Moto Z Play. But on the last step while trying to flash it I got the error "Image not signed or corrupt" and the image is not installed. Here is the output by flashing:
Code:
D:\Programs\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot.exe flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-addison.img
(bootloader) slot-count: not found
(bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found
(bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found
(bootloader) has-slot:recovery: not found
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (11374 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.255s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) Image not signed or corrupt
OKAY [ 0.246s]
finished. total time: 0.510s
Is there a way to avoid this error ?
Use: "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" no quotes. I change the filename to just "twrp.img" less chance of typing something wrong.
and no the .exe you did.

I think it is flashed. After flashing the twrp via fastboot and u see that error then just ignore it, instead directly boot your phone in recovery mode using the volume buttons and look for the word "recovery" then press on power button then it booted there.

This is not an error. If your bootloader is unlocked this message will display at every boot.

As Fandroid mentioned, it's not an error. My device also diplays it at startup.
I've added to this post a zip file that contains adb, fastboot and twrp version used to configure my device.

I wanted twrp just to create a backup and configure my device to support dualsim. Therefore and as mentioned in a previous post, TWRP is installed only momentarly and after a reboot it would be overwritten.
My OS is the Moto Android 7.0.
What is the issue that you have now ?

As I told earlier I am not able to install twrp due to which I am not able to install custom rom. I tried many times to install twrp, everytime it showed "image is not found" as you guys said I tried going recovery but again it shows you already unlocked boot loader, your device can't be trusted then says " your device will reboot in 5 seconds" this is what my issue is.

It makes no sense then to flash it. Why don't you just use
fastboot boot twrp.img
when you want to start it? Then no flash will be involved, and twrp will be just booted for this single usage. You can repeat this whenever you need it.
I cannot exit my bootloader. Even if I choose to reboot to TWRP it gets me back at the same selection screen. I tried the other options as well but they didn't seem to work. HELP!

When you are in bootloader, you should use fastboot command instead of adb.
And first, try to flash TWRP using: fastboot flashing recovery "YOUR TWRP IMAGE". If it works, flash rom like normal.
If that doesn't work, use QPST.
