Question Denying OTA because it is a SPL downgrade - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Hi,
Whilst attemping to switch from [ROM][13][OFFICIAL] PixelOS [AOSP][STABLE][15/04/2023] over to [ROM] [13.0] [alioth/aliothin] ArrowOS 13.0 [MiPa] [OTA] from scratch, I've attempted to install two Firmware versions in an attempt to successfully transition from one OS over to the other. These are as follows:
- miui_ALIOTHGlobal_V13.0.5.0.SKHMIXM_74dd0fb2e5_12.0
- miui_ALIOTHEEAGlobal_V13.0.9.0.SKHEUXM_f9603cf7f3_12.0
The Instruction procedure was followed from the ArrowOS guide in this link HERE.
The ArrowOS boot, vendor_boot and Latest rom zips were all downloaded. Both the vendor.img and vendor_boot.img were both installed.
The issue is whenever I attempt to install the recommended firmware versions, I'm encountering the following error message below.
ERROR: recovery: Signature verification failed
ERROR: recovery: error: 21
Installing update...
ERROR: recovery: Current SPL: 2023-01-05 Target SPL: 2022-08-01 this is considered a downgrade
ERROR: recovery: Denying OTA because it's a SPL downgrade

This error message is preventing me from continuing to proceed by installing the latest version of Arrow OS 13.
Can someone please help me resolve this issue ASAP as I'm completely stuck and cannot find a solution to resume with the installation.
Your help would be greatly appreciated in this troublesome time!

Hey mate, before you flashed the firmware did you follow the step to format data? Try to format data and flash the recommended FW. Make sure you use the FW recommended for the region of your phone. If you are still stuck join the Arrow support group on telegram. You will get help quicker and more feedback over there.

Problem with installing Lineage 14.1 made by surdu_petru

First of all thank Surdu for making both CM13 and this CM14 rom.
I'm having a bit of problem with installation.
Model number is HUAWEI RIO-TL00
I am running the CM13 made by surdu_petru, 13.0-20160502-UNOFFICIAL-rio. I was able to get that installed relatively easily and it runs just smooth and fine.
I have updated the TWRP to the version listed by Surdu in the Lineage OS thread and performed factory reset before attempting to install,
but I got an error 7
the version I'm attempting to install is "lineage-14.1-20170115-UNOFFICIAL-rio"
the error messages are
comparing TZ version TZ.BF.3.0.C3-00025 to TZ.BF.3..0.C3-00022
assert failed: rio.verify_trustzone("TZ.BF.3.0.C3-00025") = "1"
Installing zip file '/external_sd/lineage-14.1-20170115-UNOFFICIAL-rio.zip'
checking for MD5 file...
skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
Updater process ended with ERROR:7
Error installing zip file '/external_sd/lineage-14.1-20170115-UNOFFICIAL-rio.zip'
I noticed that something on my phone definitely doesn't match with the updater script.
Removing the assert lines in the updater script will allow TWRP to install, but I cannot get past the Cyanogenmod robot face, it keeps flickering after a second.
Any suggestion on what to do is appreciated, thanks.
1. try to flash the lastest version of TWRP. surdu_petru had mentioned that in the post.
2. I experienced the same issue of looping Cyanogenmod face flickering, after force reboot. all fixed.

Error installing latest Lineageos cm14-1 Moto-z Play

I have unlocked my Moto-z play, flashed twrp 3.1.1, copied the latest lineageos to the internal storage, wiped the data, I select install and the lineageos image and I get the following error:
This package supports bootloader(s): 0xC105, 0xC106, 0xC107, 0xC112: this device has bootloader 0xC014. I am running the stock android 6.0.1. Searching the forums it says to install 'nougat'. Can someone point me to the 'how-to' for this?
Thanks

Flash through adb nougat firmware and then install recovery again (bootloader will stay unlocked). After that, you can flash LOS.

[BND-L24] No Recovery After Trying To Install TWRP

I've unlocked my bootloader, and tried to install TWRP (the BND-L21 version, it seemed to work fine for other US users) so I could flash a generic boot image like LineageOS 15. It flashed without problems, but when trying to boot to it, I get the following error:
Attention!
Please update system again
[picture of open Android logo]
Func NO : 11 (recovery image)
Error NO : 2 (load failed!)
However, I can boot into the system without problems. I've tried to use erecovery to download the firmware and install the update, but that failed.
Is there a way I can either:
A. Install TWRP so I have a recovery? or
B. Install the default firmware so I can have the stock recovery?
P.S. Here's the command I used:
HTML:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk (name of recovery file here)

Happened the same thing with me and i easily had the work around..
But this thread doesnt belong here..
And are you able to access the rom which you installed? Or it straight away goes to erecovery or the error page?

The ROM I have installed is the stock EMUI 8.0 ROM. I can boot into it without problems. It only shows the error page if I try to boot into the recovery.

TWRP ERROR: 2 (GSI installation/Treble)

Hi all,
I am currectly running SoLdieR9312's Pie Beta rom on my S9+ (G965F/DS) and I am attempting to install a GSI but I get the following error in TWRP:
Image to flash: '/sdcard/download/GSI's/AOSP Extended GSI.img'
Calculating restore details...
Flashing system Image...
simg2img 'sdcard/Download/'AOSP Extended GSI.img' '/dev/block/sda18' process ended with ERROR: 2
[IMAGE FLASH COMPLETED].
I am using the ARM64 a-only GSI and I am flashing image to system image partition. I have wiped data, dalvik, system and cache prior to installation as well as trying to flash without wiping anything prior to installation. I have attempted to install multiple ARM64 a-only GSI's but all return the same error as above. I have also attempted installing with firmware and vendor BRE5, Vendor-27_ARI9, BRJ8 and ZRKA. I have also attempted installing after being on multiple different custom roms. All of my normal Custom roms (.zip) flash and work perfectly.
I am very new to GSI's and the XDA Forum in general so forgive me if it's a juvenile question, all help will be greatly appreciated. (Just incase anyone is concerned - I have searched everywhere for an answer to this but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere).
Fix for problem
Nevermind, found a fix, my GSI images were in a containing folder so therefore not being read as being in the root directory/folder of my device. My bad :|

Stuck installing ROM on Mi A2 Lite (daisy) - ERROR 1, ERROR 7

Hi,
I am "building" (first had to fix the LCD etc.) a de-googled DAISY. I managed to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP, and root the original OS (Android One 10).
The problems started when I tried to install a custom ROM (at first Havoc, but other gave the same results). Just as instructed (YT, other pages, here...) I:
- formatted via TWRP
- REBOOT to TWRP
- wipe all except SD
- install ROM from zip
...and at this point I came across an error message
Error applying update: 7 (Error code: : kInstallDeviceOpenError)
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Many solutions suggest flashing boot.img from the ROM package, but (WHY?!?) all ROM's ((Havos, crDroid etc.) for daisy have no such file, although other devices have boot.img in their package.
I'm pretty much clueless... :/
Help, and thanks in advance...

Error 1 usually means wrong install package or wrong TWRP.
Are you using TWRP by offain?
[SOLVED]
The whole problem was that TWRP was wrong (not even offain as far as I remember). But I got a HUUUUGE amount of help (MANY THANX!!!!) from opal06 (main maintainer for crDroid on daisy) on Telegram channel dedicated to crDroid on daisy.
So If anyone hase similar problems - go to Telegram group - they will help you!
After flashing right (modified) TWRP versions, evrthng went fine, although I got to admit it was pretty complicated for [unlock + TWRP + custom rom + root] combo. On lavender it was much easier
cya all, good luck!
