Hi all,
I am a big fan of Miui, and since 2012 i am using Xiaomi devices. Currently I'm having Mi 11 Lite 4g Indian version. Even though Global, EEA, Indonesia versions got Miui 14 for Mi 11 Lite, Indian version didn't. What matters is it is not listed in Miui India official release schedule. What may be the reason?? Won't we get Miui 14 in India for Courbet??
This question is better suited for Xiaomi forums, and even then I'm not sure you'd be able to get the answer you seek since virtually all people there don't work for the firm (i.e., they know what you know and have access to the information you do).
Either way, release schedules are orientative, take them with a grain of salt, Xiaomi's software support isn't on par with some others' to be honest; there are even differences in upstream Android versions between devices released in China and their international equivalents, much more when it comes to MIUI features.
In any case, I wouldn't be surprised if MIUI 14 were released for the Indian variant at a later date, and if you are comfortable running it with an unlocked bootloader, you can unlock it and flash a Global release, for example.

Anyone know anything about when the global release could be, seems like latest is could be would be 8th december (new york launch event), been waiting impatiently for a long time for this phone to come out, and i have 2 options.... wait for the global release with the official global ROM, or import from china and flash the global ROM when its released (and lose any functionality that flashing a ROM or xiaomi devices causes).
There isn't any official word on when the global release will be. Only that there will be one. I'm new to Xiaomi so I'm not sure how long it usually takes for them to release a global version after the Chinese one
You guys think it's best to wait for the new Mi Mix 3 ? Maybe the battery will be bigger and have an in-display fingerprint ? As it is right now, I personally like the Honor Magic 2 better but it looks like you can't unlock the bootloader on the Honor (or you have to pay ).

Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite Android 9 Pie update :
Android 9 Pie update expected in Q1 2019
Beta version may roll out before the end of 2018
As already pointed out, Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite comes preinstalled with Oreo 8.1 and thus is entitled to an update to Android 9 Pie, probably the one and only OS upgrade the device will ever see. Xiaomi hasn’t said it publicly, but we expect a beta version to roll out before the end of 2018 followed by a stable released later in Q1 2019.
Of course, the stable Pie update will have MIUI 10 running on top.
Hello,
Global beta ROM is now officialy available, according to this article the beta version 8.12.13 is under android pie https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-8-lite-android-pie-beta-china/?nocache=1
Even if it says that you need bootloader unlocked, I checked on the official website and saw it was available as a global version, here's the link http://en.miui.com/download-346.html#552 (and if you want, here's the changelog http://en.miui.com/thread-4885974-1-1.html)
Since I only have my mi 8 lite in a few days (tomorrow hopefully), I could not test it myself, if nobody does before I'll confirm as soon as possible
Tell me if I'm making any mistake
Have a nice day

Hi everyone,
I bought this phone two weeks ago and it came with 10.2.2.0 global firmware installed. The software version is a bit "outdated", it has few bugs and it's missing various features from china stable and even EEA firmware. Ok, minor stuff but it still pisses me off that the software isn't up-to-date like the others. So, since I can still return it and get a full refund, I was thinking about giving it back and take the 128GB EEA version, almost for the same price, due to the latest price drop. What do you guys think? The only concern I have is the possibility that EEA version could be less followed in the future.
You can install EEA firmware on your device if you think it might be better. I believe the reason global rom is slightly behind eu rom is because they were working on the developer rom which is now released, that developer rom is way ahead of any stable rom in terms of features, you won't see them in stable rom for 2-3 months.
The reason I'm still on global stable is related to retailer warranty. I would like to avoid any software problem that could compromise the warranty by flashing other stuff, otherwise I would be using miui.it rom already, or xiaomi.eu. Also, why focusing so much on global beta if the beta-program is going to stop on july first?

I have a feeling they will end up continuing the beta rom for the devices which will still be receiving the chinese beta (devices under 1 year old and no redmi devices) however they said all devices will not get it due to majority of forum users having old/redmi phones, there would be more uproar from these users if their devices were singled out. Otherwise I don't see why they would bother releasing the first mi9 se beta rom now.
That's a realistic scenario, I guess we will have the answer in 3-4 weeks.
What is the actual difference and benefit for running EEA (besides it being an european version) vs Global?
It seems like global is now ahead, but it will always be changing. Just looking for what's best
Hi.
I also have an Mi 9 SE with "just" Global ROM 10.2.2.0. What's the way to flash it to Global EEA?
TNX
I was under the impression that the Global ROM is more up to date than the EEA version? Mine has the May security patch and seems to work well.
My phone works with quirks.
Randomly, but always, turning on camera when in pocket. Phone is locked with FP+Pattern...
Android skin – MIUI 12.5 – is finally here. The first incremental update over MIUI 12 has been unveiled at the Mi 11 launch event in China. Compared to MIUI 12, the stable version of which was released less than six months ago, MIUI 12.5 brings in a slew of improvements, visual overhauls, and a handful of new features. We have already extracted the new live wallpapers, and now we are presenting the downloading links of the first set of MIUI 12.5 beta firmware packages for a bunch of Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices.
It is worth mentioning that these closed beta builds are meant for the Chinese variants, as Xiaomi suspended the rollout of MIUI global beta since last year. As a consequence, you have to flash these recovery ROMs using TWRP to bypass the MIUI beta account whitelisting. Do not expect Google Play Services or any pre-installed Google apps in them. Language options are likely limited to English and Chinese only, too. Xiaomi has yet to launch MIUI 12.5 globally. Meanwhile, you can try out the closed betas from China.
The beta MIUI 12.5 builds listed below are based on either Android 10 or Android 11, depending on the device. If you are looking for MIUI 12 stable releases, you can find those here.
Download: MIUI 12.5
You can download the latest beta of MIUI 12.5 for your device from the links below. You can also visit our linked forums in case you need further assistance. While all of these download links are directly from Xiaomi, users are advised to proceed at their own risk. We warn you once again, this is not intended for the average consumer and is recommended only for users comfortable with flashing ROMs.

Dear Mi 10T lite community,
I am new to Xiaomi, originally coming from a OnePlus phone.
This is a Mi 10T lite phone bought in Germany from a German carrier.
Even before installing my personal data and apps, I had updated to the latest global version 12.0.8.0 of the Xiaomi stock ROM.
Today I get the notification, that the second (first after real install) update is available and my phone wants up UPDATE from 12.0.8 to 12.0.1 !?!?
What kind of update is this. The version number is being reduced?
The patch level is said to increase from January 2021 to February 2021, which sounds okay.
The current ROM (12.0.8) is Android 10 based. The new ROM (12.0.1) claims to be "Stable MIUI based on Android 11". Is this the upgrade to Android 11? I thought the Update to Android 11 will be with MIUI 12.5 in summer!?
Would you advise to upgrade this stock ROM? -- For me this sounds strange. On OnePlus I have always relied on the ROM upgrades. What about this?
Thank you for any advise in advance!
Best regards
Ethan

If you notice that the update ROM has R instead of Q in the string *JSEUXM that denotes next update - R follows Q. The numbering is for Miui version 12 and the iteration .0.1 means it's the first one in this R cycle.
And it is android 11. Going to install it myself - if it's now out of beta and ota'ing

Hello Gazblade,
thank you very much. This is quite interesting. I had only looked at the "human readable" part of the version number, not at the "machine readable" part.
You are right. This is an update from QJSEUXM to RJSEUXM and thus it should be a new version. It is good to learn the "Xiaomi-style".
Nevertheless it should NOT mean, that their GUI, MIUI is downgraded to an earlier version from 12.0.8 to 12.0.1. This is intriguing.
Obviously the third digit of the MIUI version number has nothing to do with respect to the currentness of Xiaomi's GUI software. Right?
Also the text "based on Android 11" is at least misleading.
Nevertheless, based on your feedback, I will try the update later.
Have a great day!
Best regards
Ethan
Just a note for "Based on Android 11" - it is important because you can have MIUI 12 based on Android 9 or Android 10 or Android 11. Most of the features will be shared among different Android versions, with some exceptions (or freshly introduced underlaying Android bugs/design changes).

I am not sure whether I got the point. Xiaomi had offered "MIUI 12.0 based on Android 11" for my Android 10 phone and this upgrade MIUI 12.0 is still using (or based on) Android 10.
Android 11 will come with MIUI 12.5 Right?
Thus does this "based on" read "has been compiled with Android 11"? Or "Is running on Android 11 and older"?
I had planned to install the update tonight, but in the meantime the OTA update disappeared again and is no longer found by the Xiaomi updater! What a strange policy.
Has the "R" version been withdrawn and is back to beta status?
With my old OnePlus updates were pretty straight-forward. I do not understand the Xiaomi update policy until now...

MIUI is only skin (albeit quite heavy) on the top of Android. Xiaomi decided to offer the same MIUI version on top of more than one Android version. So our phone came with MIUI 12 + Android 10 and now it's being upgraded to MIUI 12 + Android 11. Next major upgrade will be MIUI 12.5 + Android 11. But it's possible that Xiaomi will offer also MIUI 12.5 + Android 10 for other (older) phone models..
It can be a bit confusing, but you don't need to stress too much about it.
The Update to 12.0.1.0 RJSEUXM is back and I have downloaded the OTA update already. Currently I am charging my phone before applying the update. -- Be safe. At least on the battery.
Did anybody already apply this update to Android 11?
There are so many rumors about problems with this update, but there are not many clear facts.
Would you recommend adopting to Android 11 already now or wait for MIUI 12.5?

I will put it this way. For every bigger Android update there are a bunch of people who hate it and they will make a lot of noise on forums. They don't like some design changes or cosmetic bugs. Most people are not bothered by them or they barely notice them. Of course that there is always a chance of serious bugs, but problematic updates are usually pulled down quickly and the information is often covered in articles (on XDA or similar pages). There is no known serious bug in this update and it's considered as a safe update. I am very sure that MIUI 12.5 update will be "the worst update in the history of all updates" for some people (like it was with MIUI 12 or MIUI 11; or Android 11 or Android 10 etc.)..
I updated one or two weeks ago and except already mentioned misaligned (but still functional) text in notifications I haven't noticed anything worth mentioning. I personally recommend the update, but as always, YMMV..

I have just updated to 12.0.1.0.RJSEUXM. My Mi 10T lite is now running Android 11 absolutely flawlessly. Good recommendation! And probably a very correct explanation in your message above.
Could someone upload and share the MiQT Lite XQCN file (EEA or Global)? I need this file to test some things on my 9 Pro 5G.
