Hello my galaxy tab s4 is dead. I get only black screen with no sighs of life. No button combination work. My tablt only shows the charging symbol only when the battery goes completely dead but it does not charge. I get only the symbol. Any idea?
What about download mode?

Does not work. The only way to get a sign of life is to let the battery drain completely. I connected a charge meter and shows a charge of 0,36 A. But the tablet shows black screen and buttons do not work

Anyone have a an issue where the phone is stuck on the white charging symbol (phone is off) and u cant turn the phone on w/o a battery pull? I've tried d/c and connecting the usb but the symbol is still there. LTE Galaxy Nexus
Any ideas?
I had it once, but I did not have to battery pull. I waited for the white battery icon to go away, and then held the power button like normal until it vibrated. It seems to not like to boot until the battery icon is gone.
Hey guys...
So my phone was perfectly normal, battery completely drained (It hadn't happened in a lot of time). I charged it for a bit and tried to turn it back on but no luck.
I left it charging overnight and tried again, still no luck, it got stuck in the Galaxy SIII screen and then it turned off immediately.
I tried getting into recovery, the Samsung screen showed those blue words on the top left corner for a while and then turned off without entering CWM recovery
I tried getting into download mode, I got to the confirmation screen, pressed volume up to confirm and then when it was supposed to get to download mode, after the letters on the top left appeared (the list of lines that starts with a red line saying Odin Mode) then the phone would turn off.
Any ideas? is it soft bricked or hard bricked? is this a case of sudden death?
Thanks for your help
Maybe a bad battery?
I think you can get to download mode by taking out the battery, plugging in the USB (while connected to your PC)
Try to boot into download mode from there.
I'm more then sure you can. Its worth giving a try to see if its a bad battery.

Hi
Please help
It was running on Jedi Invasion no problem at all. Last night I was browsing with the electrical charger attached. While browsing the battery went down to zero percent and the screen went blank. On trying to restart it will only reboot until the Samsung logo than the screen goes blank. I have tried to put in to recovery mode by pressing all the three buttons together but it won't some few blue letters appear above than the screen goes blank. It won't go into recovery or download mode. Whenever I put in the battery after removing the screen automatically goes up to Samsung logo.
How can I put it into recovery mode as the screen goes blank and the phone doesn't power on?
have u tried immediately releasing the power button when u see the blue letters??
err on the side of kindness

Did you also try another battery to see if that's the problem or try the current battery in a similar phone? If you weren't tinkering with or flashing firmware, nothing should have happened to cause a firmware failure.

The battery insert reaction indicates stuck power button syndrome. Your power on circuit is responding as if the power button is permanently pressed. There is a lot of discussion & analysis posted on this.
When it happened on my Captivate, best solution was careful disassembly & air dusting. I did not detect any physical defect in the button or mainboard contact. the case seemed airtight and dust free. It may be there was a particle of some sort I dislodged, or residual voltage that got discharged properly during the teardown. I have used 2 apps to reduce my use of the physical button ever since. The problem never reappeared. Some people replace the button.
S3 Swollen battery phone screen blanks while on electric charging
My S3 had a swollen battery which worked well no problem. Few days ago I was browsing on the mobile while it was charging on electric outlet. The battery power indicator showed zero percent and the mobile went off. Since than it does not go into Recovery mode nor Download mode with a new battery. The new battery is good it works on another s3. The mobile powers on without the power button being pressed when the new battery is inserted into the mobile. The white Samsung sign appears than the screen blanks. When trying to get into recovery mode blue words appear on the upper left than the screen blanks. In Recovery mode the green android man appears it blanks out too.
What can I do to fix the problem? How can I get it into Recovery Mode? I think the swollen battery had something to do with it when the battery hit zero percent.

The problem is in your handset now.
Normally it is designed to wait for a power button press after the battery goes in.
If yours gets turned on by battery insertion there is a hardware problem in the phone now.
The power button could be sticky
The button might be loose (no spring)
a loose particle could be shorting the power-on circuit internally
stray electrical voltage requiring complete discharge could be shorting it.
If you are not a DIY you will need someone to disassemble and air dust the phone.
Power button replacement is another option but may not be necessary.
Hello xda, My galaxy tab s 8.4 is bricked.
I Installed CM11 via TWRP recovery and created a MD5 backup. I attempted to reboot I got as far as the Galaxy tab S loading theme and left it for over an hour with the power button taped down but nothing happened. It did not turn off until the battery died(I left it overnight).
Now I plug in my tablet, the battery charging icon will display, I will leave it on charge all night the icon won't change even when I unplug it it displays the same icon until the battery dies.
Thank you in advance

Probably a decharged battery in the box. with the old firmware it wont charge while off and when you plug it in, it boots up and uses too much battery to keep itself on, so it shuts down. try holding Volume + , home button and then powering on. this should take u to the recovery, which uses less battery and might be able to charge up a bit.
Edit: HOLD (VOLUME + AND HOME BUTTON TOGETHER, THEN PUSH/HOLD THE POWER BUTTON) once it boots into a recovery mode, u can let go, MAKE SURE TO KEEP YOU TABLET PLUGGED IN.
If that doesn't work, take it back and demand a new one.
