No , support will last with Android 14
@paradise220 Do you have a source?
Probably yes. But maybe they will change from this model to 3 big updates. The first smartphone to have such a support model is the 11T. We'll see.

Just google it " Poco f4 5g update promise".
You will receive the answer.
Poco f4 5g had also 2 years of warranty promise during launch last year .
Thank god we'll have custom ROMS for Android 15, just bought this device last week, already custom rom'd ))

Could you please elaborate? I can't decide between F4 and Nothing Phone 1. Before I came to know that the kernel 4.19 would be EOL'ed in December 2024 F4 was the clear choice. The latter is based on kernel 5.10 which is supported till 2026. F4 can only be updated till A15 even unofficially?

Well, Custom ROM support depends on community adoption & support, if you look at F3 subforum here, you can see it's the most supported Xiaomi-phone on xda, that does not mean Poco F4 will get the same love, but seeing the chipset is the same & it's a 1y and half newer, you can probably count on decent support for the community.
Officially it will get Android 14 with MIUI 15 confirmed, you can search, pretty sure custom ROM's will get it maybe even Android15, but we don't know even if A15 brings anything good yet.
Nothing Phone vs Poco only if the price difference is warranted, Poco is better otherwise.

It's very simply. I changed my Nexus 5 because security patch wasn't update. And now, my smartphone is not update again, while a lot of phones are very very supported. I choose Xiaomi because release a lot of update and it take care of his smartphones, but this is not happening with Mi 5s. Last update was released in December. I thinks is not too strange if i'm feeling a bit messed around. They promise this update from some months

Imagine:
- You buy phone in December 2016.
- You receive Global ROM about that time, you feel happy.
- You see every month China users get new stable versions, you don't.
- Around February you lost opportunity to unlock bootloader, because you need MIUI 8.1 or above. Your ROM from December is 8.0.
- Month ago Xiaomi release Global 8.2, everybody was happy, they can unlock bootloader, but after a week ROM is deleted from Download section on official site and from OTA update.
- Week ago Xiaomi promise give you first global dev release. Yay we will be able again to unlock bootloader. And they have delay...
epilogue
- Xiaomi start release closed beta Android 7 builds for mi5s. History show us that this model for Xiaomi is ************. Global version is... I have no words.
I know that there are ways to unlock bootloader etc. But official way right now don't work for Global Stable users. This phone have almost a year and stlii no working official solution.

It's a Mediatek phone, so don't expect any custom ROMs.
Take a look back at the Xiaomi phones released with Mediatek chips and see how little support from developers it got

Exactly. The only fully working custom is Xiaomi.eu which is based on stock firmware with a few tweaks.
Redmi Note 4 MTK was released with Android 6 (Marshmallow) and never received a working Android 7 (Nougat).
Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon was also released with Android 6 and received Android 7 (Nougat), Android 8 (Oreo), Android 9 (Pie) and there is already an Android Q beta version released.
The choice is simply: If you want a custom ROM don't buy Mediatek

Let's wait, we never know! The (partial) source code release is a step forward. I think that the "missing" code parts have with the LCD to do and not with the chip anyway.

There are many differences :
- Xiaomi never released Kernel sources on Note 4 (MTK), you can find Note 2 and 3's on their GitHub (very tardily released), but not Note 4's...they already release Note 8 Pro's
- Xiaomi didn't sell Note 4 in western countries...now they officially sell many devices in Europe.
- most western users bought SD625 version instead...MTK community wasn't that big
Sources are there, now Mediatek need a "best seller"...unless that, custom rom won't exist
In past, a team succeed in doing rom for several Mediatek's devices (M.A.D. Team)

Your definition of unbelieveable is unbelievable
Does it differ depending on manufacturing date or is it always the same? I'd assume it's probably different for global and eu versions for example.
Is it Android 11 straight out of the box or could I avoid updating it if it's android 10?
Have you done any research before? F3 came with Android 11 out of the box, but the MIUI depends of the date when the F3 is manufactured.
I was confused since I own another xiaomi device which is running MIUI 12.0.5 and it's android 10.
The articles I found for the F3 state that it came with MIUI 12.0.1 but said android 11 which made no sense to me. That's why I'm asking.
It came with MIUI 12.0, which is Android 11.

I also have Memory Extension on my Xiaomi.eu Weekly Custom ROM, but I don't use it because 6 GB RAM is plenty for me.
Munchy has noted about that feature, that it doesn't do much and that there's no indication of it being on, and the Recents still showing "6 GB". He said that in that same video I think.
Just asking, is someone making Android 12 for this device, every other redmi model has got Android 12 except this one, is it because of mediatek processor?

Some GSI released nearly 1 month. And custom rom POSP alpha build A12 released from 2/11 and get new update with some fixes today (15/11). You can join Telegram Global group for more info. PE+ is working too, but developer is busy right now. Lineage will get official but idk it will be A11 or A12.
Does anyone has a prediction of when the MIUI 13 might come to the European version of the POCO F3? I thought it would be in january/february but I'm not sure if it will come out until the end of this month.
I'm pretty much hammering the refresh button myself, but if push comes to shove, we'll have to wait until Q2 of 2022 to get our release. After the official release is out, I will probably unlock the bootloader and flash the XiaomiEU ROM because the EU and Global ROMs from Xiaomi themselves will probably miss at least half of the newly announced features and retain them only for the chinese release on which XiaomiEU is based.
