Question MI 11i battery drain by "Other" - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Hello, this is the battery graph of my daily use on MI 11i with basic apps like whatsapp and facebook. Situation has been the same since the day I bought the phone but I was patiently waiting to see will MIUI 14 fix it but it didn't. I should have returned it the very fast day I bought it. I didnt expect 700 euro phone will have faulty software or battery out of the box. I have to turn on airplane mode during night since if I don't "Other" will drain 50% battery overnight, also I can't reach the end of the day without charging. Overall phone is not useable and I am wondering is there an battery upgrade that I can install by myself? I had to install battery monitor and it reports that under kernel wakelocks, "RMNET_DFC" is constantly waking up the phone, there is nothing about it on google.

[Q] Battery Problem on my new Note 3!

Welcome! I've got Galaxy Note 3 for 3 days and i'm not satisfied about battery life. I read that it is possible to work on one charging even 3 days! I can work on my max 8h!!! I've got wifi/bt off, battery saver mode on, screen bright on auto and -5, only gsm (not LTE), no sync, no facebook app. When i'm working on my phone i can easily see how battery is discharging When the battery is full and after 10 usage i've got 90% without doing nothing special. Is my battery broken? shoud i use warranty?
You got some app going crazy or something. I get apps that hang sometimes and will kill my battery in a day. Lately ive been paying attention and trying to kill apps that are uselessly draining and ive only used a third of my battery in 24 hours. Just gotta hunt the problem down.
Regardless, its probably just software and not the phone itself.

The Battery Drastically Drained in seconds!

Hi guys. Im new here. I just wanna share about my Z1 compact latest battery problem kinda frustrated me lately.
I bought the phone 2-3 months ago, already with Android Lollipop 5.0.2. Since the purchase, I didnt really face a problem with the battery life as it lasted about 12 hours per charge due to my heavy usage of the phone.
But a few days lately, my phone being worrying me as the battery doesnt being as normal as always. For example, it can drain the battery drastically from 88% to 67% in a few seconds when the screen is off (in standby mode). Sometimes, in the middle of the usagefrom 39%, the phone suddenly shows the battery low warning with a 1% battery remaining, and without having enough time to reach the charger, it shuts down by itself.
In rare cases, I caught my phone drained the battery drastically when the screen is still on from 15% to 1% less in a minute.
The phone wasnt rooted and I didnt anything else besides my daily normal usage. The latest apps I downloaded before the problem occurred is Waze.
I tried everything to save the battery like using the Stamina Mode, force stops some apps, slides away all of the running apps in the background but failed. I even factory reset my phone and installed all the apps the way it used to be but still didnt solved the problem.
I still have about 8 monts of Sony warranty but I need you guys help first because I need to use my phone for work right now. Please help and reply.
Thank you. *Sorry if my English isnt that good*
When the battery jumps from 39% to 1%... Does it stay a long time at 39%? Or from 39 to 1 in few minutes?
Just curious...
Sounds like a warranty issue to me. You could try to find out what is causing heavy drain like with BetterBatteryStats. But no app ever should cause such drains.
Sound more like your battery is not okay.

The exactly same problem with me .I have 100% battery and indicator stays 100% for a half hour than drastically drains to 1% and shuts down.
Change your battery! I had the same Problem. I changed my battery with anotherone original from Sony, but a few weeks later the same Problem: quickly battery drain.
So I ordered me a battery from e-bay but NOT one from Sony! Now a few weeks later still NO Problems. Everything runs Ok now. NO battery drain at all.

Standby battery drain - nothing indicates why

Hello everyone,
Since few days I have some really strange battery drain in standby. I'm loosing around 3% per hour according to GSam Battery Monitor. I usually charge my phone before I go to sleep, so it's 100%, but 8 hours latter, when I get up, battery is down by 22%. Also, doze is working according to GSam Battery Monitor.
I have a phone since October 2016. It's manufactured in September 2016. Android 7.1.1 and latest security patches are installed, everything is stock.
Screen shorts of battery usage are attached. Any idea what is causing this drain and how to stop it?

Not much to go on but in personal experience Location services is often a culprit. If not that, one of the other general Android hiccups that happen from time to time.
Possibly a stuck process can be visible in your developer options> running services. You may also be able to gleam a clue from your Settings> memory > sort by Max usage, if say over night after 8 hours you see some apps that shouldn't of have been running over night.
For me this type of issue would usually be cleared up with a reboot. If that doesn't work I might try clearing my storage cache (settings>storage>cached data) and then rebooting. That worked for me recently and my Doze is better than ever on 7.1.1 Feb OTA.
You can use the below thread for all battery posts and inquiries.

Thanks for reply. I am not yet 100% sure, but I think google screwed the Bluetooth with February OTA. I disabled Bluetooth last night and only lost 5% which is as before. But I need Bluetooth for my MiBand 2.
I don't think Bluetooth needs so much power and that's why I think February OTA is to blame. But it's strange that battery stats does not show it.
Still, I'll need couple of nights for testing to be sure.

Battery and heat

I owned the galaxy S9 (dual sim - 128gb - exynos) since july, my battery doesn't last a whole day, all I get is 4-4.5 hours of SOT. I installed phone info for samsung from play store and checked the battery status, it says that battery health is 91.37%.
And my phone is warm most of the time, not extremely hot, just a little bit. Is it normal? Or my phone has a problem?

Same as mine, feel warm all the time, even not using it. 3hours+ SOT per full charge. Bought it on end of June 2018. After 100 cycles phone info shows 86.53%.

Don't worry about that, I don't think it can be accurate, mine says 84.97% after 54 cycles, and I'm fairly sure I remember it saying it was only about 90% when it was new, so I'd add 10% onto that %
Will wiping system cache help to decrease heat and improve battery life?
Check for any apps that may be constantly functioning in the background, streaming apps that are not closed, etc. GSam is a good app for monitoring this.
Recently, I am not charging my phone like I was doing before, I mean sometimes I recharge it to 100% when it's at 60% for example, or sometimes I let it drop to 10% or lower. Because of university needs...
But I'm noticing a very bad battery life that it lasts me about 16 hours with 2-3 hours of SOT (I only use whatsapp and open some documents at university).
And my phones gets hot sometimes like I said before.
And sometimes I unplug it and after 2 mins it drops from 100% to 98%. The battery drains too quickly! What's the problem here? (I also notice a higher % for android system usage, like 13% or 16% for example)
PS : I tried wiping cache and I saw some apps running in the background and putted them on "always sleeping apps" except of social media apps. But they still run, I can see this in RAM usage. So don't know what to do.

Thanks bro! But I am asking why I need to do all this stuff to make a flagship phone last me the whole day, my friend's s9 battery lasts the whole day with 6 hours of SOT without disabling apps, or optimizing them. And without putting a dark theme...

Question Will OnePlus 9 pro battery life be improved with a software update?

Im planning to buy OnePlus 9 pro phone, everything in this phone is perfect for my needs except the battery life. almost all the reviews on the internet suggest that the battery life of the phone is average, and some site say it's worse than that of the oneplus 8 pro, even though both phones have roughly the same battery capacity with the oneplus 9 pro having more efficient display and processor. so do you think it will be improved soon with a software update? and for those how bought the oneplus 8 pro at lunch last year, did you experience the same issue?
It charges to 100% in under 30min...
So seriously, what is it that you do all day where you need to have your screen on for 6-7h, hard usage, without any acces to a power plug to charge it?
Are you a ranger in a Safari Park that tracks Rhino's?
Battery life isn't great, but I top it off for about 10-15 minutes late afternoon (half a charge or so) and I'm good to go. I'll keep my old 30W charger (from my 7 Pro) in my car just in case I'm ever caught with a low battery, but it doesn't seem to be an issue. I certainly welcome any improvements, though.
Usually, ota updates have battery performance improvements...
In the summer i will be moving back home where frequent blackouts are a common thing specially during the hot days, that is why im worried about battery life. and i dont like carrying power banks.
Anyway thanks guys for the replys, and hope future updates would include battery improvements.

I've upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy Note 9. I'm really surprised how quickly my phone has died the past few days at work. Only gets me through about 8hr of listening to podcasts, screen off before I hit 20%. I hope that something improves because I was hoping with this phone I'd be able to get through more of my day without charging.
It's astonishing to me that all the improvements to hardware and particularly power efficiency over the years have resulted in... the same SOT and battery life in general as my four old phone. Progress

They'd rather have the phone charge from 0 to 100% in about 30 minutes so that's their *solution* to the "problem".
Idle or standby battery drain is too much.. Anyone facing that? How to reduce it. My phone was charged 90% in the night. After 9 hrs standby, battery went to 67%. Thats too much battery drain

Mine drains about 5-6 % in 9 h standby. Always-on disabled. Try disabling "listen to hey google all the time", that might be the culprit.
As someone else stated earlier, my battery was horrible when I first got it for a couple of days, then without doing anything, it just got better, like a normal phone. No complaints now. That was my only gripe.
Btw a new update that ends .3.3 seems to be rolling out in India and should further improve battery life. it's great to see they're doing something, hope battery life will get even better.

Same problem here (AOD disabled).
Yeah I now have my phone for 2 days, it's a garbage battery!
It drains like close to 20% per hour of 'light usage', with low brightness only FHD......
Also it drains the battery even when it's supposed to be Idle (no AOD)!
Will probably return this ****.
