Hello guys,I've been trying to root my Samsung Tab s4 with Android 10 and OneUI 2.1 for the past 18 Hours now. I've tried 30 different *original* Samsung cables yet Odin just spits outall threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1) immediatly after pressing start in Odin.-Tried every USB-Port on my motherboard (3.0 and 2.0 aswell, External USB Hub didnt work)--The Firmware I downloaded was from the Offical Servers This T830XXU5CVG2 one since its 1 to 1 the same as my Tablet uses currently.-I have USB-Debugging enabled and unlocked bootloader.--Last time I've rooted myself was in 2017 I think and never had any issues at all.-I also do have the current Samsung Android USB Driver installed since my tablet needs it to even allow me filetransfer.--Patched the Firmware using latest Magisk without trouble. Yet when trying to flash via Odin3 I just keep getting "all threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)" literally instantly after pressing start-ALL Guides and Tutorials I found were outdated as f*** running Android 9 at max, yet here I am with android 10 oneui 2.1 and nothing works... (some 1 year old but 100% incorrect, some up to 4 years old, and even 1 from 2016 mentionioning the Tab S4 but in reality its for the Tab S2 (firmware aswell)https://samfrew.com/de/download/Galaxy__Tab__S4__/aqhz/PHE/T830XXU5CVG2/T830OXM5CVG2/
I'm setting up my 2013 Samsung Laptop right now in order to test it on there but my hopes are dead. Been a root user since my first ever Mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy S, the first one) and it feels just wrong not beeing able the uninstall the annoying bloatware delivered on the out of stock android nowadays..I'm running out of Ideas and I seriously think of repairing my old S7+ Edge (with 100% broken battery and Display, with replacement costing me over 300€) and rooting that instead because the Tab S4 ist just not wanting to get rooted(Also I saw some Tab S4 Firmwares that got BL, AP, CP and CSC - yet my firmware only has BL, AP, CSC in it)If someone knows what goes wrong here pls help me out
Also, not boot issues at all, I canm start the normal android 10 just fine
^Also I flashed 1000s of times back then so I normally knew exactly what I did but in the past few years a lot of stuff has changed
edit:
older laptop doesnt even recognize the tablet drivers not changing anything

Hello Doo,
Are you able to flash the official Firmware with Odin (stock BL, AP, CSC) ? I just rooted my tablet today and I had no issues.
Related
Hello all,
Just got the Note 2 today, and the first thing I wanted to do was get it rooted so I could get my Ti Backups going for some of my apps.
I attempted to use Mr.Robinson's root-injected Stock Rom, but had no luck.
I've used Odin lots of times with my Sammy Sprint OG Galaxy S Epic 4G, so I've tried every trick I know from that - still no dice.
Here's my scenario with the most info I can think to provide (not at home, at work now on a Mac):
• Windows 7, fully updated, no issues there
• Samsung drivers from that thread installed and reinstalled - only thing I have NOT done is manually uninstall and reinstall, maybe this is the key?
• Odin 3.07 from said thread installed. It has no problem connecting with the phone
• Phone is not rooted, fully stock, brand spanking new and works like a charm (but not with the newest TMob update that includes the multi-window)
• Downloaded the proper .7z, unzipped, MD5 checks out. Odin agrees that it checks out.
• Proper boxes are checked (Auto Reboot, F.Reset) and I'm putting the root66_TMO_T889UVALJ1.tar.md5 in the PDA field
•*Tried three cables. Two are fresh-out-of-box USB from the brand-new Note 2s, the other is one that has worked with EVERY other phone I've owned or serviced that uses micro-USB
What happens is that it gets through the MD5 check, and then it gets to SetupConnection - but after 30ish seconds stops and says write failed, big FAIL in red, like some of us know all-too-well...
Any ideas? I'm def going to reinstall the drivers from scratch. Should I look for a different version of Odin?
Thanks for anyone who has some advice! I'd love to be able to root this puppy so I can do some minor modding fun.
UPDATE (for anyone who might have cared, lol):
Other root method (Odining Chainfire's Auto-Root CF) worked just fine in Odin.
I probably got a bad download on the other one.
First of all, I am new to XDA. So hello guys from Turkey! :victory:
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 with a clone IMEI. My friend brought it to me from Dubai and I live in Turkey, also use my phone here. Yesterday night I wanted to upgrade my OS to 4.3 but as I am a noob, I think I did something wrong. I started with installing 4.3 original rom. But different versions of Odin have failed. I also tried rebooting pc, reinstalling drivers, using different usb ports, etc. And of course Kies was disabled. I faced with "Complete (write) operation failed, success 0 failure 1 error. I have no backup of my old data or rom. I meddled with the wipe things, too. I used MegaWipe. Now my phone stucks at Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 screen. I want to start from the very beginning of the process. I don't even know where to start.

While having 20+ years IT experience, I am such a newbie when it comes to tablets. My tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 SM-T520) that I’ve had for less than a year, fubar’d 2 days ago and is now in brick mode. Two days of research has taught me the gist of what I need to do. I have loaded Odin to my PC, and downloaded the Samsung USB drivers. Now all I need is the Firmware file. I have found files for every region except the US. Is there no US region, or am I missing something? TIA for your help!
XAR is for US region wifi models., if you have the box you can match up the csc codes too.

as far as I know there is no Lollipop firmware from samsung yet, just kitkit.

Thank you so much for the link! I was confused being that my device was wifi and not a cellular enabled device. And good advice about the box, which I do still have. So just grab the most current version in that list, correct? Is the most current version of Odin good to use as well?
I much appreciate your help!
Yeah this one should be the latest / newest
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/47288/T520UEUAOD1_T520XARAOD1_XAR/
You can use the latest odin v3.10.7, just follow the instructions on the above page exactly and everything should be good.
or you can use Samsung Kies 3 to flash the latest firmware if Odin options are confusing, I always stick with odin though..
how long should Odin 3 sit on Initialization?
Odin has sat on Initialization for about 1.5 hours so far. Is that normal?
UPDATE: disregard... process failed. trying again.
UPDATE: 2nd try failed. First try was on HPMini laptop running Windows 7. Sat at Initialization for approx. 2 hours. Then Failed.
Second try, was ran on a newer desktop pc running windows 10. Sat at Initialization for over an hour, then failed.
Have a feeling that both fails happened when the usb cable was bumped. It is the usb cable I use to charge the tablet, and thinking that sitting at an awkward angle all the time might have weakened the cable or the connector. Going to buy another cable tomorrow, and try again.
Any advice? I tried to add images of the logs to this post, but being so new to the forum, it won't let me. argh. If you want to see them, I can pm you links. What should a successful log look like? How long should it sit on Initialization?
I'm going to bed now. Tomorrow is another day....
PIT?
What is "PIT for mapping"?
I learn nothing from incomplete threads.

Keis has never worked on my Pro 10.1 ~~ I cannot find a stock USA firmware in 4 files, only in chinese. all tar.md5 fail
Hello everyone.
This morning after a restart of my Samsung Galaxy Note 7 I was met with the black screen and the dreaded red message CUSTOM BINARY BLOCKED BY FRP.
To be fair, to avoid Decembers battery limiting update, I installed TWRP and opted for the HydraRom install.
Things i have done so far:
Downloaded the full .tar pack for UK EE Note 7 latest firmware (N930FXXU2BPI7 - Changelist 9201627)
Tried applying them with Odin and it fails SW REV CHECK FAIL DEVICE 3 BINARY 2?
As this is a difficult find, I came to you guys because I think together we can work this out.
Lets do this! Thanks.
Chris
Also, am i right in stating that the firmware N930FXXU3BPL2 is the original update to reduce the battery charge limit to 30%?
FYI I'm definitely a newbie to android and had 0 knowledge of any of this when starting so this very well could be something stupid and easy I'm missing..
Device: Samsung galaxy tab S4 wifi version SM-T830 (Now on android 10)
Cliff notes:
I was on android 8.1.0 (oreo), tried rooting via a patched root(?) i think it's called, without twrp using magisk. magisk showed it was not rooted
Tried flashing TWRP still on oreo, odin showed a failure to flash with no other information, just the standard (<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1))
I tried different odin and twrp version combinations with the steps above, i couldn't find which version of odin to use on oreo as their docs seem to list every android version but oreo and had other people suggest maybe not using the latest TWRP since I wasn't on the latest version of android. None of the combos worked
Finally got updated to android 10 today, using one of the latest odin versions (3.14.1) and a couple different TWRP files found either on twrp.me or on here (twrp-3.5.0_9-0-gts4lwifi.img.tar / TWRP_T83x_3.4.0-6.tar) but still nothing, same message in odin.
One last thing that might be helpful is that I only just updated today to android 10 because by some magic my device finally showed updates in the settings of the tablet itself. Previously I had tried samsung's smart switch which found updates but got stuck on 0% for the install the 50 times i tried it. I'm also still unclear as to how I'd flash a custom recovery(?) to get myself to a good version of android. I know how to in odin but I don't know where I can find trustworthy files that will work for my device. I've downloaded some with Frija but have been nervous about trying it as I'm just too new to this to know if that's always safe to do or if I'd cause more issues..
So yeah sorry that was still long, shortest version: Can't flash TWRP no matter what I do. Does anyone have ideas on what else I can try or does anything stick out as blatantly wrong? I'm at such a loss with all of this.
I find it hilarious that after like a week and a half 5+ hour days trying to figure this out, i finally give in and post my question. Within 30 min I find the answer and flashing works lol... I saw user Mentalmuso mention in one post, if Odin errors to restart the device and PC. Go figure, that worked. How stupid that you have to completely shutdown your workspace on error lol! Anyway hope someone facing the same issue sees this. Good luck!
