[HELP] Clone IMEI Note 2 Android 4.3 - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First of all, I am new to XDA. So hello guys from Turkey! :victory:
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 with a clone IMEI. My friend brought it to me from Dubai and I live in Turkey, also use my phone here. Yesterday night I wanted to upgrade my OS to 4.3 but as I am a noob, I think I did something wrong. I started with installing 4.3 original rom. But different versions of Odin have failed. I also tried rebooting pc, reinstalling drivers, using different usb ports, etc. And of course Kies was disabled. I faced with "Complete (write) operation failed, success 0 failure 1 error. I have no backup of my old data or rom. I meddled with the wipe things, too. I used MegaWipe. Now my phone stucks at Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 screen. I want to start from the very beginning of the process. I don't even know where to start.

[Q] Odin doesn't detect my N7100 in download mode!

Yes I done the research and didn't find a working solution.
My Note 2 experienced SDS and had the motherboard replaced under warranty by the Samsung service center. Before repairs there was no issue and I flashed a couple things with PC Odin. After getting my note back I intended to flash an international 4.1.2 version to get rid of the Arabic based ROM and to minimize the chance of another SDS. Upon checking found out I still have the insane chip.
Unfortunately when I connected my note to PC, Odin didn't recognize it. I tried:
another Odin version
reinstalling drivers
another USB cable
and quite a few other things i found in other threads
To make it more confusing there is no issue connecting the note in any other mode to the PC. I shows up in explorer as GT-N7100 and it connects to Kies without issues giving all the sync, backup etc...... options.
As a last resort I hope I missed something somewhere and maybe somebody can point out where........

Thanks mate, read a good portion of the thread and have to admit its way over my head so couldnt figure out how it relates but it did remind me of mskip's Toolkit. So I:
unisntalled Kies
uninstalled Samsung drivers
ran CC cleaner
ran registry cleaner
rebooted
Then I started from scratch with the Toolkit and got lucky. Rooted and twrp installed. Tonight or tomorrow will continue with the flashing a non-Arabic 4.1.2 ROM. Got to buy a beer for mskip!!!
SOLUTION
By the way just figured out something that in all the searching I have not seen anybody mention. I probably missed it! All this time I am following instructions to start Odin then boot the phone into download mode and then connect to PC and it still doesn't work even after I managed to do some flashing through the Toolkit. Then I had an idea. With note still in download mode and connected to the PC I shut down Odin and restarted it, guess what there is light and it's blue, it worked!!!

I too would very much like a copy of the original firmware.
Well i think in at the Moment it doenst give any good Rom fpr our Tabs
except the Infamous and the blackhawk kernel
blackhawk kernel
just a heads up the blackhawk kernel gave me wifi issues kept saying poor connection I switched to the no name kernel and infamous rom and it's running smooth no problems

So I'm Pretty Sure My Wife Is Going To Kill Me

So I offered to put a custom ROM on my wife's Galaxy S II T989, because she likes my S3. First problem was it would NOT root. It would install the superuser app but it wouldn't verify as rooted, says the su binaries were not installed... Ok. I wanted to use the CM11 Kit Kat Rom, so the instructions said that I had to be rooted so I kept looking and finally found one for su v0.92, it failed in CW recovery so I tried it using Odin, and again it failed. So I rebooted the phone to try again later and it is now stuck in a boot loop. I have read that Odin can be a little finicky so I kept trying and to no avail. I even tried Heimdall Suite and it said that it detected my device but after I tried to install the root package that way it said device could not be detected and threw an error. I couldn't figure that out, so I verified that the USB drivers were installed and they were. The forum says I have what's called a soft bricked phone and to download a recovery kernel for it and it should fix the problem, but I can't find one for android version 4.1.2.
I have tried two different USB cords, and two different USB ports and nothing. I am just so lost confused. I completely abandoned Android after Froyo and went to a Windows Phone for over 2 years but recently came back because of the lack of app support. I used to flash ROMs on my LG Optimus T all the time without a problem. Things have changed I guess. I'm pretty sure that my wife is going to have a cow when she wakes up this morning. Any help that anyone can provide would be most helpful. Thanks in advance!
So I fixed the problem with the boot loop. Odin finally wanted to cooperate this time. I downloaded a stock time and extracted the md5 file out of it and flashed it using Odin v1.85 with defaukt options checked and it worked! I hope this helps someone who was having the same problem I was with the Galaxy T989.

[Q] I Noob struggling to update Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Hi Guys
I have been reading for one day through all the threads looking to get one that suits my issue but I cannot find one that describes my issue exactly. Please I am "Technologically disabled" and do not understand all the terminology. My Note 2 started freezing and shutting down by itself after I have been using it for nearly 1 year with no issues. So I have done all the stuff like factory reset nearly 15 times but with no success. About two weeks ago I saw I am still running on Android 4.1.2. I have tried to update it through Kies but I got the message:" GT-N7100 does not support initializing".
I then followed the advise on this website to disconnect the device and download the update. Then I re connect my device in downloading mode and connect it to Kies and go through all prompts but then I get this message when it is suppose to download:" Cannot access model information server.
Can someone please help me to get this note 2 updated, it will be much appreciated.
Regards
Khalahari
Go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=28988 and follow the instructions.
I agree with joy845's reply if you're up for it, but this could be hardware. I haven't heard of issues like this on 4.1.2

Odin FAIL

Hi guys,
I've just rooted my Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and I'm trying to flash in a firmware downloaded from Sammobile, I've tried to use Odin 3.07 and 3.09 but in both always appears to me a FAIL message, I've tried to plug and unplug the tablet from my pc many times but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I followed all the instructions I found but nothing happens.
Have you tried to re-downloading the rom and trying again? Check if your drivers are installed correctly and the only thing I would suggest is downloading the same tab s rom but like a UK version or..

Which is the best country FW with italian language support? I'm trying to upload the new FW with the same pc I've used to root my Tab S.
Regarding the odin fail. I have 3 usb ports on my laptop but only 1 works for me when using odin. Maybe you could try a different port?

Not to sound repetitive of what others have already suggested, but there is definitely logic in re-downloading a ROM in that some downloads get accidentally corrupted in the transfer process. Hence the purpose of the md5 validity check. Also, in searching for Samsung usb drivers for the sm-t800 I came across at least 3 bundles having different drivers and quantities within them. The 1st one recognized the tablet but not Odin. The 2nd one recognized both, but Odin kept failing. Needless to say that after the 1st two bundles didn't work I thought that I had not followed the instructions carefully. That I had done something wrong, so I kept trying with those same crappy drivers again and again until someone suggested I try to download them again. I realized I hadn't tried the 3rd bundle yet. When I did, everything worked great.
In other words, never be reluctant when things fail, to try a different approach or to start all over again from scratch.
Hope this helps.
