Hi Guys
I have been reading for one day through all the threads looking to get one that suits my issue but I cannot find one that describes my issue exactly. Please I am "Technologically disabled" and do not understand all the terminology. My Note 2 started freezing and shutting down by itself after I have been using it for nearly 1 year with no issues. So I have done all the stuff like factory reset nearly 15 times but with no success. About two weeks ago I saw I am still running on Android 4.1.2. I have tried to update it through Kies but I got the message:" GT-N7100 does not support initializing".
I then followed the advise on this website to disconnect the device and download the update. Then I re connect my device in downloading mode and connect it to Kies and go through all prompts but then I get this message when it is suppose to download:" Cannot access model information server.
Can someone please help me to get this note 2 updated, it will be much appreciated.
Regards
Khalahari

I agree with joy845's reply if you're up for it, but this could be hardware. I haven't heard of issues like this on 4.1.2

Hello,
I had my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 rooted by rootandroid.com after I got it a few weeks ago. It worked fine, was able to use root apps all was great. Then I unfortunately downloaded the Go Launcher from Google Play and when I deleted the Go Launcher all hell broke loose. TouchWiz stopped working, I may have actually participated in this by stopping the app, either way when I got done I had a bricked Note 3. I went back to rootandroid.com and paid for unbricking and another root around $65 and after 2 days Robert was unable to accomplish this. He basically abruptly disconnected from our teamviewer session without explaining any next steps. I was refunded my money by rootandroid.com so all of that is fine.
I did a factory reset 2 times, found the root software and deleted it from my files while connected to USB and until I did so I noticed significant lag issues.
But, now when I try to update my Note 3 software it says I cannot because the device has been modified.
Does anyone know how or can point me to the right place where I can get this corrected.
Yes, I am not a developer, but I believe I need to flash the original firmware to my Note 3 to get back to where I originally started from.
Any help greatly appreciated.
thank you
Mike

I posted this on the Sprint Note 2 forum as well so I hope this isn't taken as me spamming
I have a Sph-L900 Sprint Galaxy Note 2. About a month ago the device started acting up Saying it couldn't connect to my Samsung Account, and the only way I was able to fix it was a factory reset. That soon turned into not being able to connect to my Google account and knox issues where something was trying to access my device administrator, and the only fix was to keep updating the samsung security police. The device began shutting off and restarting about two to three times a day with the same error notifications popping up on start up. I kept doing a factory reset in order to get ride of the issues but would reappear shortly after.
I have never tried to root my phone because I wanted to wait for my contract to be up before messing around with it.The most I have done is install a few 3rd party apps and use the google launcher apk as my everyday launcher. Eventually because it keep restarting so often I thought I would try to put cyanogenmod on it using the installer app.Unfortunately it kept saying it couldn't communicate with my device and had to abandon that option. A few hours later the phone restarted again but this time became stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 logo on start up. I tried to another factory reset hoping that would fix it but this is what happened

The whole thing is in red and keeps saying error and fail.
I have no idea what the issue being a noob, but started looking through forums and posts hoping to get an answer. I thought trying to reload the stock rom might be my best bet and started looking into how to unbrick the phone on youtube and forums.
I downloaded Odin and tried [ROM][ODIN]SPH-L900 MK4 (MK4 Modem/Kernel/Bootloader/ROM - Full Restore - Unrooted), Galaxynote2root.com, and QBking77 methods and files for putting factory stock rom back on the phone. I spent all day trying each one only to get "nand write start fail" when trying each tar file on odin.
I wanted to see if someone might actually be able to explain to me the exact issue and hopefully a possible solution.
try entering download mode and connect it to kies and run the emergency firmware reset or something like that (it will ask you some numbers that are writen in the battery slot) try disabling antivirus also, it should work.
best,

When you tried to flash the stock with odin did you re-partition?
Upgrading to KITKAT on rooted Note II
Hi all, I want to install french KITKAT Rom through Odin. Before doing that I want to factory rest it with out external memory card, I believe if I do not do it, it would wipe off all the data from it. Is it possible to reset with out the card ?
Thanks for your help.

I didn't re-partition. I keep hearing i need a Pit file for that. Plus A) haven't found one and B) not really sure of the process of how to do so since the videos online keep saying not to select it

Why would you butt in with your question in this thread when the OP's concern is no where close to what your query is,so please post your question in the thread that pertains to it or make a new thread
Hi guys,
Been out of the loop for quite a while on any firmware changes with my Note 8 GT-N5110 and have ran into a problem and need some advice so I don't brick this thing, lol.
Recently the wireless started randomly turning itself off and on. I tried the usual power cycle with no luck so I ended up just doing a "restore" from the tablets menu and that didn't help either.
So, I am not sure what the next step should be. It is on version 4.1.2 and was/is rooted (although it has been so long since I did it that I do not remember a whole lot about the process).
Any suggestions? If it involves rooting/firmware, I am probably going to need detailed instructions if possible. Thanks!
Hello, first timer here. I have never tried rooting or anything, but today I finally decided to... and messed it up.
Verizon Samsung Note 2 SCH-i605 (yes, still.)
Got it on July 2nd, 2013, so I believe it was build 4.1.1 kernel 3.1? Not too sure on the legalities
Completely unrooted and unmodded
I was using kingo root and everything was fine until it hit about 52% on the rooting process when my computer lost connection with my phone. Since, it gave me the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue" problem. So then I google-fu'd and followed directions of:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040264
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2120726
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582290
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207
etc.
and used Odin 3.10.7 (and 3.10.0 just in case, both on and off admin mode cause why not) on every single md5 available in all those links and the one from sammobile.com for sch-i605.
And each time, I would either received failure on "sboot.bin" or receive the "System Software Not Authorized" error if succeeded (it was stuck in bootload? too, kept flashing the logo then the error message). The VERY first time, however, it actually brought me to that page where I'm allowed to press things like erase cache, factory reset, or reboot my phone. There, I chose all those options in the order I've listed them. And ever since I haven't seen that screen again.
My issue seems to be every problem I can find put together, and can't seem to resolve it with my skills alone. I honestly don't care about recovering my data (which I believe is impossible now anyway) or rooting my phone. I just want it to turn on again.
Thanks in advance.
p.s. getting a new phone isn't an option currently
-edit-
Checked my verizon wireless software upgrade assistant for some info, and it says "Up to date" and "Version ND3" if that means anything to you pros out there.

KIES is unable to read my phone (tried the bottom 3 versions of it), and I've tried running Odin 3.07 and unchecked repartition for every stock and restore md5s I had for my phone... the ones that didn't fail sboot.bin are still giving me unauthorized error.
I'll keep trying all the combinations, but it seems moot at this point.
Here's the issue, that I've resolved, but I'm looking for a reason why this happened.
Have a Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) running Android 5.11, rooted and running xposed.
Arrived home a few days ago and my PIN is no longer recognized to unlock the device. I been using the same pin for months and nothing of any significance had changed on the device. A couple of days earlier I had upgraded busybox and a certificate I use for an email account had expired, but I've restarted the device and used the lock screen pin multiple times after both events. Very strange that the device just stopped recognizing the pin as the correct one.
Anyway I was, fortunately, able to find a way to get into the device and authorize adb connections and took care of the issue (without having to reflash anything).
Anyone have any ideas why the device would just stop allowing the pin to unlock the device?

Can you please point me in the direction of a good guide to follow to root my p607t on official 5.1.1?
I've looked all over the place and there's no real confident answer out there and I'm afraid to mess anything up, cause boot loops, ect. I've got lots of experience rooting Androids in the past but this specific T-Mobile modem sounds like it is super picky.
Much thanks to anybody who can help :good:
