nethunter or general keyboard use? - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

So after months i finally got a phone working with nethunter. long process of trial/error not to mention amazon returns.
anyway, got a usb-c hub for my b day. seems to work fine with hdmi out. its a jcd543 by "j5create" ~ whatever.
plugged in the keyboard via usb3, dont work. rgb does just fine regardless of port. have a mouse but since it has bluetooth just went that direction.
purpose is obvious, nethunter on the go then when im at home plug it into a dock that has a pc setup - next to my real pc.
thanks in advance!

OTG Cable Answers

Ok guy so I finally got my OTG cable:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Micro-USB-Host-...od=260766327039&ps=63&clkid=63440061151806986
There seems to be alot of questions regarding which peripherals work
List of everything I have tried so far:
Logitec LX3 Optical Mouse: Works Perfectly with no set up
PSX to USB adapter: Seems to only output mouse commands (Left joystick and Dpad works but nothing else)
Wireless USB Adapter - Works perfectly with mouse and keyboard - no set up
USB Flash Drives - Works perfectly , mounts in mnt/usbOTG
USB Card reader(microSD and SD): Works Perfectly, mounts in mnt/usbOTG
Powered USB Hub (7 Port)
Card Reader: Did not mount
Flash drive: Did not mount
Optical Mouse : Works perfectly
When I start trying more things I will post on here and give you an update.

Do you have to be rooted to get usb thumb drives to work? I am not rooted and a wireless mouse will work but I cannot get thumb drive to work.

Yes, you have to be unlocked, rooted and flash a different kernel before this will work. The OP kind of forgot to mention that.
Eventually this won't be the case as I expect this functionality to be enabled shortly by the official SD card update WHEN it finally comes. Haven't rooted yet, trying to keep my unit as stock as possible for development purposes. Being able to do things the general public may not be able to do just makes things harder ATM.
Do you think that they Are going to send me the cable to Argentina?

I think you're mistaking the OP for a discussion of SD cards in the Xoom. This thread is about OTG cables, which were enabled in the 3.1 update. Or do I have that wrong?
BTW- Just ordered one. Got one suggested in another post from meritline and *suprise* it doesn't work... Waiting again...
Sorry guys, I keep forgetting that not everyone who reads these forums have rooted their Xooms. I am rooted running the latest installment of Tiamat Kernels.
Just an update my testing has stopped since the cable is a POS and broke the first day.
I ordered the Motorola Cam Connection Kit from Amazon and it said it would get here in a month! I wish they would have told me that before I placed the order. I'll probably end up buying one and just selling that one to someone on this forum.
I don't know how much this would help but I found a thread on some .apks for mounting hard drives and other things. Check this out and hopefully it helps you guys mount some things.

OTG through a HUB

Hey! So i managed my S2 to work with an OTG adapter. Now it recognizes Flash drives, USB mouse and keyboard as well. My problem is though, that i'd want to use both the mouse and the keyboard simultaneously, and later on my tablet as well.
I've got a USB hub which was pretty cheap i guess,
ht tp://itmedia.sk/item-images/other-usb_omega_hub4portSTARpowercapable/it6818_2.jpeg?nc=032
When i connect it to the OTG adapter it lights up, and if there's a flash drive attached to it when i plug it in, the phone recognizes the flashdrive without problem. As soon as i plug in a second flash drive, the light goes off from the HUB and both of the sticks get unrecognized. Also, the mouse nor the keyboard works through the HUB somehow..
I need to buy a specific hub with OTG support or a power hub perhaps? Could anyone help in this? I looked over google and stuff but people seemed to say different stuff at almost every site.. Thanks!!
My Galaxy S has stock 4.0.3 rom with the Syjah S2 4.1.4 Kernel
Phones doesn't support usb hubs.

Oh well that's quite interesting. Then you're saying this piece of video could be fake perhaps?
Since i can post links yet, search for this on youtube: USB HUB Support On GALAXY S2
Check the very first video.
I'm convinced that the every phone can handle only one device connected at the same time.

Well, it surely doesn't seem that way, that's why i was asking, since it's possible.
Weird.... i got sgs2 and 4-port usb hub and when i connect 2 pendrives to hub and hub to phone everything works good (i see UsbDriveA and UsbDriveB). If your hub have dc input you can try connecting power supply to this hub. Maybe this hub isn't compatibile with your phone.

Help , need to get OTG and MHL working simultaneously !

Hi guys,
My galaxy nexus screen has been cracked and it does not respond in 75% of the screen.
I bought a MHL to HDMI convertor on amazon and luckily got the phone UI to show up on my TV
Now since the touchscreen won't work , I need to connect a keyboard or mouse via USB OTG and use it for navigation.
Problem is the Galaxy Nexus has only a single microUSB/MHL port combined into one.
I have no idea how to split the output from the phone to connect to a USB OTG cable and MHL to HDMI adapter simultaneously !
Any help will be appreciated,
The phone is not rooted AFAIK , but may be I'm not sure. It was running Android 4.1 JellyBean when I dropped it on the floor
The phone does show up on my Windows PC and I have copied the photos off it. But I still want to copy contacts and SMS messages.
You tried just using something like Android Screencast from the PC (USB debugging is needed)
Also, some MHL adapters have a USB port in them, for power. Have you tried getting a crude micro USB splitter? Like this one? http://www.replacebase.co.uk/micro-usb-female-to-2-x-micro-usb-male-splitter-2392-p.asp#.URk59JGYOBs
Not guaranteed that would work though. Also, a quick google of what you want brings up some others with the same issue, have you tried to see if any of them have succeeded?

Good news
I had a spare galaxy nexus in the office and I gently took the screws of both the devices , and just swapped the displays so that I could quickly turn on usb debugging , backup essential stuff and also turn on bluetooth.
Thanks to some assembly videos on youtube ! will share some pics soon

[Q] Fire TV XBox 360 Wireless Receiver Third Party

Hallo everyone,
I'm new in this forum and I hope I am right here.
So the Fire TV is new in Germany and I preordered it.
It would be fine if I will be able to use my wireless Xbox 360 Controller with it.
I have read that it is possible to use the original wireless receiver for PC.
But what's about the remake from it (the version from China)? For PC I have to install the drivers manually.
Is it possible to use? Has somebody tried it?
For example like the "White PC USB Gaming Receiver Adapter White For Xbox 360 Wireless Controller" on amazon.com
Sorry I'm not allowed to post links.
Thanks!

Hello
Yes, i have one from ebay (chinese clone) and it works fine. Lights in the controller doesn´t light up as usually but that happens with the official receiver also.
Hey,
I'm using a knockoff chinese receiver. I got mine on amazon for about 13 USD and it works great. It can be a little tricky to configure the controls with Mupen 64 or whatever emulator you are using, and the 'x' home key always takes you back to the games section of the kftv launcher (despite having xbmc set as the launcher, for example), but it works in game just fine.
Let me know if you have any questions- I'd be happy to help.
Can you connect more than one Controller on that adapter? I read, that 4 Controller + 4 headsets are possible with this adapter (on a PC). Whould be nice for multiplayer games...
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9295 mit Tapatalk
I haven't tried headsets, but I've used at least two controllers at once, and I also understand up to 4 per receiver works (theoretically more receivers = more players, but I'm not buying another one to test that theory).
How to hook up third party controllers correctly
I was searching the web up and down in order to get my third party controller (china) to work without a solution. Actually it was easier than I thought:
- connect the dongle
- restart the Fire TV (5 sec hold of Play+Big Button)
- press X on controller
The controller doesn't stop blinking but if you are able to navigate through menus everything worked well.
I bought this receiver from amazon (www (dot) ebay (dot) com/itm/271687378076?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) and it's not working when I plug it into the Fire TV. I believe the receiver works though because when I plugged it into my mac and I was able to see all the keys responding using 360Controller.
Everybody seems to have minimal issues connecting controllers to their Fire TV. Any ideas?
(Sorry, I don't have enough posts to post links.)

I'm sorry, but it'd be tough to replicate the issue without a device to test with. That receiver looks identical to the one I purchased, but I don't know if it is actually the same on the inside.
I don't know about on OSX, but I found that I could pair the xbox controller with the receiver on my windows PC (using the generic driver). Once I had paired on Windows, I could plug the adapter into anything running android and it would work just fine.
That's the first place I would start- try pairing a controller and making it work on a machine running Windows or OSX or whatever is 'supposed' to work. That way, you can at least tell if the hardware is bad. If you are able to pair and use it on one of those machines, plug it into your Fire TV and use the same controller and see if it recognizes it.
If it works on OSX or Windows but not on the Fire TV, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe pick up a USB OTG adapter and see if you can get it running on another android system. I haven't found a phone / tablet yet that hasn't been plug and play with the adapter.
Lastly, and this is unlikely, it could be that you are running a USB hub that isn't able to provide sufficient power. If that is the case, unplug all other USB devices and test it in the port. If it works there, the hub / draw of other devices is your problem. I'd recommend getting a powered USB hub in that case.

Thanks for the suggestions but I don't think the adapter will work with the Fire TV. I'm not using a hub anywhere in the setup.
I can pair the controller to a Windows machine using the adapter and the generic driver. I'm able to see the computer register all the inputs using the joy.cpl (app?) in Windows. When I plug the adapter into the Fire TV afterwards, I still can't control anything with the controller. Does the ADB debugging switch make a difference? I have the adb over usb set to OFF.
What's an USB OTG and where can I get one? What adapter did you pick up that worked? It might be better if I just picked up the same one instead of troubleshooting this one. Open to any other ideas though.

I'm still not convinced the device is not malfunctioning. Did you actually connect and use a controller to control the PC? It could be that the device is connecting and sending some information, but the part that actually connects to the controller is broken. On Windows, you can just download the driver and install it as per these instructions: https://krisrowland.wordpress.com/2...eless-controller-adapter-in-windows-7-64-bit/
I'm pretty sure this is the controller I bought. Like I said, it looks the same as yours. I'm confident you just got a bad unit.
I had one question:
-Does the rumble function work? (The vibration)

It's been a while since I've actually used it, but if I remember right it does work if you map it properly in the emulator you are using. For example, Mupen 64 has support for rumble packs, and I'm about 80% certain it works.
hi mate did you ever get this working, i have the same issue, bought a cheap receiver from ebay. hooked it up to laptop, installed driver, worked fine. connect to fire tv, nothing!
ARGH!!!!
The cheap china clones just making problems with Android aka FireTV. That's what I heard.
But the original adapter makes me sometimes Problems too. Sometimes the Box Start in security Mode (grey written in the left corner of the screen) or had to replug them After Start to let the Box recognice the adapter again.
I bought two very great Bluetooth Controller from "mi". Really nice. Like Xbox 360 Controller. You can buy it cheap @ allbuy.com.

I got it working!!!! Make sure all developer options are turned off in settings.
Hi there, I'm having the same issue here.
HARDWARE: - FireTV 2.0
- xbox 360 wireless chinadapter
- xbox 360 wireless controller
I've turned off the dev settings on my firetv, connected the 360 controller via my chinadapter to my pc to verify that it's paired and working. Plugged my adapter into my firetv. Restarted firetv. Pressed the silver X button, the blue x button, the ))) connect button... Still nothing. I've gone into the "Add a new controller" area (where it tries to establish connectivity) and tried everything I can think of. I was really excited about this and am kinda bummed. Not wanting to buy extra controllers really.
- something noone else has mentioned running into - the firetv seems to crash or reset itself when I push the ))) connect button on the chinadapter receiver. . . weird. . .
---------- Post added at 06:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:18 PM ----------
UPDATE:
I got it to interact randomly. Unfortunately it was unacceptably buggy. Crashing games, not recognizing inputs and, well, everything that might be awful about a controller. So I guess I'm looking into cheap bluetooth controllers. def not spending $50 on Amazons controller to play freaking android games lol let alone games in the amazon app store. Thanks for the thread and any advice on getting it to work properly you may have discovered.
I am having the issue of not being able to connect my 360 controller via the Chinese adapter to the fire tv....I have got it working in windows but it wont connect on the fire tv. I have disabled developer options restarted the fire tv and hit the x button to try to connect but I get nothing.

USB mouse

So I am about to root my 2nd gen box. In the instructions by aftvniews he says I need a wireless USB mouse for one of the steps. I plugged in a wireless mouse but was not detected. He does not mention how to install one so I figured it was because you just needed to plug it in and viola. Any idea how to connect a wireless mouse. I have searched but came up empty. Could I use the remote mouse app? I heard it's not that great. Bluetooth pairing does not seem to be working either. I am on 5.0.5
Delivered by my Silver S7.
Nevermind
Delivered by my Silver S7.
i'm pretty sure you'd need a usb mouse to proceed. I've never managed to connect a bluetooth or wireless mouse to my firetv but have heard of people having success doing so.
