As is with this and future rollouts of updates, it’s rolling out in a phased manner and should reach all the Pixel Watch units in a couple of weeks.

Assuming that you've already tried to manually force a system update by heading to 'Settings' and then 'System Updates'. If not, try this first.
If you see a message appear that your device is up to date even though you know a new update should be rolling out, follow the steps below.
1. Go to 'Settings' on your Pixel Watch - you can do this from the Quick Settings menu.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings list and choose 'System'.
3. Select 'System Updates'.
4. If you see that no update is ready to download, begin tapping the small watch icon at the top of the screen for roughly 30-60 seconds.
5. Eventually, this should work and not will work to force an update and, if you're running below 50% battery, it should pop up and prompt you to place your Pixel Watch on a charger.
There is no guarantee that this method is bona fide to work every time.
Work fine
Thanks bro.... Incredible tap 30 /60 sec on the icone watch...

Just checked on the marketplace that there are updates available for a few app that I use. IM+(1.7) and AccuWeather(2.1). But I didn't get any update notification on the tile and even when I open the app on the marketplace the only button that appears is 'share'. There's no update button.
P.S I have 1.6 and 2.0 version respectively.

When viewing the app in the marketplace (where it says share), hit the back button and tap the app again. It will then show "update". Alternatively you can hit share and then the back button. Result is the same.
thanks that worked. but isnt the marketplace suppose to inform me that an update is available? i cant manually keep on checking all apps frequently :/
I'm pretty sure it will if you give it some time. It doesn't seem like its immediate. Were the app updates very recent?
I find that I normally have updates in the morning when I wake up. I leave my phone plugged into the wall and connected to wifi over night.

It does but isn't fast about it. The tile notification seems to lag far behind the actual update. Mine usually lets me know when I have updates because I leave the market alone long enough for the notification sync to happen.
What I don't like about updating is that there's nothing to tell you if the app now requires access to more stuff, like owner ID. There should be

I can't answer for the 8.4, but on my 10.5 when I click to check now it goes to a spinning circle and says I have the latest updates. It also changes the date to the current. Sounds to me like it's not connecting to their server for some reason.
Best thing is to download Kies to your desktop computer and check that way.

Woke up to a pleasant surprise in the morning with an update to the 2.9 version.
The update purportedly incluudes:
New unread notification indicator (on by default)
ComplicationDrawable now handles permission
New Call back indicates if ComplicationDrawable completed loading images/icons
More on the update - https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2018/01/android-wear-sdk-and-emulator-update.html
Have not noticed and battery / perfomance changes / improvements yet.
I have still not recivied 2.9. Any idea when it might be rolled out?
I just got this too. Only thing I noticed is that when there is notifications, there is now a small notification indicator at the bottom of the home screen.

same here, I wonder if we still get the 2018 security patches and Android 8.1
Guys, for the last time, we're not getting 8.1. This has been discussed ad nauseam, and it's been confirmed by both Huawei and Google (by omission) that we aren't getting it. So stop wondering. No more patches, no more system software updates. We'll still get Wear OS APP updates, but that's it.

Thanks. Mine is on that version as well. But is that the latest version of Android Wear? I was under the impression that the Watch 2 has a higher version.
I'm not sure where the appropriate place is to post this question.
I've got the Huawei watch (original).
At first it was connected to my HTC M8, but now I'm using it with my iPhone X.
I have installed Watch OS to my phone. When I open the App on the iPhone, it says "Update your Watch: To keep your watch features working properly and use new features, you need to update the apps on your watch".
I click on START on the phone,
The next message is Continue on your watch. I click OK.
The watch says No Wi-Fi found. Connect to Wi-Fi to use Play Store.
(Under SETTINGS > Network. the watch tells me it is connected to my home Wi-Fi; not sure why I get the message "no wi-fi found" when I can clearly see it's connected.)
If I keep at this long enough, I get twirling green circles on the watch, and then an error message. "ERROR RETRIEVING INFORMATION FROM SERVER [RH-01].
Then I'm back at the "retry" prompt.
------------------------------------------------------------
My first question is why does it say it isn't connected, when it just said it was connected.
My second question is how does anything know to connect to Google Play? I'm using an iPhone. Is it even possible to connect to Google Play from an iPhone?
My last question is whether I should just give up on all this, and buy an Apple Watch, which I did NOT want to do. I now have a Pebble Steel, and now this Huawei. I guess I can write the whole thing off as a bad experience and get a new watch, if this is now a dead end street.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
More information...
Watch is running Wear OS 2.0.0 169881869
Error [RH-01] apparently happens when trying to connect to Play Store
Next step will be to re-start the watch, but I'll wait until it has a full charge.
This is the page I am working with to try to fix it: support.google.com/wearos/answer/6321140

the update arrived this morning on both my Watch 1 and 2 - both now have the new ui - Watch 1 still shows as Android Wear and not Wear OS - also no security updates so still March 2017 and October 2017
Finally my Huawei Watch is updated to latest Android Wear New Interface.

I thought the phone had rebooted yesterday but wasn't sure. This explains it.
I am on Nov 5.
But Google needs to fix bugs, not just security updates. Like the camera overprocessing, the screwy 4x zoom which is not used at times when chosen by the user, the sub-optimum battery, and the constant requests for PIN instead of FPS, or unlocking with a trusted device.

When the phone fails to read your Fingerprint (something along the lines of three or four times in a row), it automatically blocks/deactivates the FPS, until you unlock it with your TO KNOW security measure (in your case PIN).
I had it happen to me a couple of times over the course of this month, and it was a tad too annoying to shrug off. I definitely miss my old P4 Faceunlock, never bothered me (except when I wore masks, lel).
I had it as well ... was on Nov 1, update, reboot and still on Nov 1 ...
Note there are two things: (a) security update (Nov 5 in my case) and (b) Play-systemupdate (Nov 1 in my case).
See screenshot.
When I manually checked for a Play System update just now, it told me my update was over 600 MB! Sorry, no screenshot.

Yes, I have the Unlocked (and rooted) 512 GB model, using on AT&T. Maybe it hadn't checked for any Play System updates since I rooted - since I waited to root (and disable verity and verification, and flash the stock firmware and wipe) until just a week and a half ago (I think).
I confirm it now says November 1. Thank goodness Settings has search and I'm also glad it remembers my last several searches in settings, even after a reboot.

You do realize that Google Play system update (Settings > About phone > Android version > Google Play system update) is different from the monthly security patch (Settings > System > System update), right?

Excellent, because judging by some of the posts here that's not quite universal.
In case anyone is still confused:
Monthly patch - Nov 5
Google Play system Update - Nov 1
any noticeable changes? I'm asked to reboot... but I rather not until the next system update
Anyone else having issues with apps not updating in the play store? If so, any fixes? I'm on P6P and latest update.
I have not had the issue. I happened to manually check yesterday and the Play Store was already in the process of updating three apps that needed it. Have you tried rebooting?
I have the same issue. I usually force close and clear cache for the Play Store and then updates appear.
I feel like having less updates than usual but I'm thinking it can be related with the holidays. Probably developer teams are reduced due holidays and the remaining ones don't want to be working extra hours on hotfixes hahaha

Do you refer to
a) you get no updates in general (right now)?
b) you get updates shown as available, but the system does not successfully automatically update them without your input?
A. That's because we just came out of christmas holidays. Most firms have closed/are running on low staff. There are no updates, because there are no updates.
B. That's a "common" problem and in 96% of the cases it's caused by singular apps being marked as "no auto update" - to check this, you have to go into
-> Open Play Store
-> Click on your profile (upper right corner, your GProfile icon)
-> Manage Apps & device
-> Manage
-> Click on any app
-> Click on three dots (upper right corner)
-> Check if "Enable auto update" is checked
For some stupid reason, backups can mess this up - and sometimes if even only 1 (!) app has been flagged as "no auto update", it will halt the entire update process.
And no, there is no easy way to streamline all apps as "auto update" - you will have to MANUALLY go through every app in that menu to find the culprit.

From Android 4 i have not been able to auto update from play store(can't remember what it was called back then) and today still not able to.
there were so many updates in December (on the play store). I know because I check daily, and there was a ton. let the devs rest for a few weeks.
It's not about vacations etc. I just did a force close and clear cache one minute ago and boom....3 updates appeared.
"Notify when updates are available for apps " is the issue for me. I don't use auto update for apps, never have on any phone.

Of the three profiles on my up-to-date Pixel 4 XL, the third one stopped getting updates to the installed apps in that profile, i.e. any update notifications or manual check for updates in the Play Store failed to pick up updates to most or or all of the apps unique to that profile.
I can't tell when this behaviour started, but it must have been some weeks ago. Going each app in the Play Store showed updates and noted that I was running a beta version (which was correct), but to update required updating to a non-beta then (re)joining the beta. Subsequently these apps have received updates via notification and check for updates in the Play Store.
