Is anyone else experiencing videos on Facebook or instagram playing choppy??
It seems when I play certain videos the first frame of the video will flash repeatedly through the entire video.. It's like the video skips a frame and you see the very first frame in its place and then keeps playing normal until it happens again like up to 10 times per video
It's also pausing on its own
Yeah exactly the same on my s8...
same here as well
Also having the same issue
having same issue, i believe it's due to verizon throttling video quality. from what i read, videos now play at 480p, if you want to unlock full HD playback, it'll coat $10 extra per month on your plan...
Strange that it only happens with FB videos not YouTube or Netflix
Is there any end to Verizon's nickel and dime to death approach?
Same
Same here, on an S8+. Video will start, play for about 4 seconds, jump back, sometime pause, then continue playing, and repeating the same skip a few times throughout the video.
I don't think it's Verizon because I have Att and having the same issue with my note 8
I'm experiencing the same thing, it's only happening on Facebook and with my Galaxy S8. There's nothing posted from Facebook or anywhere else saying they've established a fix or working on one.
Note: I'm in England and on the Three network, my home Wi-Fi connection is virgin media.

It recently started happening on my gf's S6. I've tried Verizon support and they blame fb no surprise there..
Disable the video enhancer option in advance settings. That caused me multiple video streaming issues on my note 8.
It happens to me on Wifi too, so don't think it's Verizon, also had the issue when i was with T-Mobile N7 and S7. Also i tried disabling the video enhancer like failtorespond suggested. Still get random pauses on Facebook videos. I blame Facebook's buggy app
Just tried turning off video enhancer, didn't resolve issue... on note 8
I just installed the latest beta apk from apkmirror, so far no issues with video playback no pauses. If anyone else wants to test here is the link.

This is happening to me too and it is only on Facebook. I have Note 8 on the Optus network.
I'm experiencing the same thing- Facebook video gets choppy, displaying the first frame of the video for a split second then resuming. Super annoying! Galaxy S8 here on T-Mobile, video throttling turned OFF for my account, wifi through Spectrum.
i find that I only have issues when the phone is in portrait mode when trying to watch facebook videos. Try turning the phone to landscape and see if your video plays okay. Guessing it's a Facebook app issue.
Yeah, I've been having the same issue with my Samsung S8+ since Facebook pushed a recent update, maybe a week and a half ago. It's got to be Facebook, YouTube is fine, Kodi is fine, and it's happening over both cellular and Wi-Fi networks.
The issue that i am currently having is certain video sources (facebook, youtube, Crunchy Roll) have this issue of every time i play or resume a video after a quick second the video essentially stutter for .2-.5 seconds and leave a really noticeable delay in audio. Does anyone else have this issue? My mi mix 2 is on the latest updates and i've tried clearing out cache in apps and restarting the phone a few times.
Hi!
I have tried two headphones (Sennheiser M2 IEBT and Focal Listen Wireless) and two audio players (Youtube Music and BlackPlayer) and got the same result: after toggling a pause on headset any attempt to resume a playback after a couple of minutes results in nothing. That is Bluetooth control is lost. I'm forced to take a phone, unlock, start player and start playing back.
It is interesting, with Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4 I don't have the problem regardless headphones and players: Bluetooth control is kept at any case.
The most performant mode is selected in battery settings. The last official firmware (169) is installed.
Please, help me to resolve this very annoying issue!
I've noticed that when I play media content using a third-party app and then pause it from a Bluetooth device, sometimes that app gets terminated in the background and when I try to resume, it starts playing from the stock EMUI music app instead.
Although I haven't tried this, disabling battery optimisations for your music apps might prevent them from being terminated in the background.
Yes, all battery optimisations for players are disabled. Also, a lock was activated for players on recent apps screen.
I have tried a couple of settings on the developer configuration list (amount of background processes and amount of Bluetooth devices), but was not lucky.
Ok, can you, please, share your experience in having or not-having described problem?
When I'm playing YouTube playlists while working out in the mornings, I notice that Bluetooth randomly cuts out and I have to close the app and reopen it to get audio to start again. Does anyone else have this issue and is there a way to make BT audio more reliable in the YouTube app? I think I may have experienced this issue with my Note 9 and YouTube, so it may not just be an issue I'm having with the Fold.
I had this issue with my Essential ph1. Hasn't happened yet with the fold
i would check Settings / Apps / Youtube.
both Battery and Data.
for Battery: make sure Background Activity is on for the battery, and app is NOT optimized for battery.
for Mobile Data: make sure Background Activity is allowed, and Allow Data during data saving
checking these settings usually works for me when apps start cutting out.
especially on samsung phones. samsungs sleep modes seem to be much stronger than other manufacturers.
Hi, would really appreciate if anyone could help me.
My phone today is suddenly showing major problems after it had been working perfectly the night before - any video played from any source, the chrome browser, youtube app, file manager, shows extreme stuttering playback, with zero audio. It can no longer play audio files from music or podcasts either.
Playing games seems to work fine, as does the audio there. The phone otherwise seems fluid, I haven't changed or messed around with any setttings, the night before everything seemed perfect.
The phone is a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite with stock android 9, and rooted. Here is the youtube app playing video: https://imgur.com/3CnPHxc
Logcat if it helps? https://filebin.net/4rxfdq96n0xlzc0y
No clue what's suddenly happened, any insight welcomed!
EDIT: Solved - for anyone randomly experiencing the same issue, this Magisk APTX module was the offender, removed it and problem disappeared.
