So when i dail #*#*4653*#*# and i change my preferred network to nr only, I cant call out the call ends right away. Also cant get phone calls, on the other side it rings and goes voice mail, but the caller says it rings. But when i switch back to nr/lte or and other network i can get calls and call out again. My last pixel 6 pro before it stopped working never done this, t-mobile sent me another pixel buts its refurbished. Any one ever have a pixel do this before?

Wow no one here have courage? To try this? Lol
C'mon guys pop that SIM card in there and share the experience!!!!!!!!!!
I would like no know this too as I just got the 4G LTE and text messaging works flawlessly, except phone calls as it gives me busy signal on all calls that are made. Don't know what's wrong. The sim card is activated and everything works as it should. Except phone calls..

There's really not a lot to talk about. The SM-P601/5 are just giant phones. Anything a N3 can do, they can do. Dialers and MMS/SMS are pretty much the same on every phone and the SM-P601/5 are no exception.
Here's a screen shot...
P.S. - In order to use the voice and messaging features the SM-P601/5 have to be provisioned by your carrier as "phones." Tablet-specific data plans don't support calls or MMS even though the device is capable.
I was waiting for a response and didn't get anyone to chime in so I finally got my note 10.1 p605 so here goes yes you need to get a sim with voice and data plan it will work. I'm currently using it as my phone at the moment and it rocks!
I have the SM-P605 4G LTE and I couldn't figure out how to make phone calls on this device. Can you help?

Is your SM-P605 from a carrier or Samsung? The U.S. carriers and possibly some others disable voice and MMS and always have in the tablets they offer. If you don't see the Dialer and Messaging apps when you look in the app drawer I'm guessing they've been disabled in whatever version of SM-P605 you have. If you see them and can't use them that means the SIM you're using probably doesn't support voice and MMS. They're either there out-of-the-box or they aren't. If they aren't there's not a lot you can do about it.
BarryH,
I got mine from the Verizon store. I downloaded a Dialer app from Google Play and tried to make a call, but still no go. The app brought up a Dialer, but when I punch in a telephone number, and press Send, it just beeps and does nothing. The Sim card was from my 4G LTE phone. I swapped it over.
I was, however, able to make calls using Google Voice & Groove IP. But man, I would just love to be able to make calls just like a phone.

Hi All,
Has anyone extracted the the firmware from the RUU? I did a quick search and just saw one with the HBOOT. Also has anyone installed the HTC RUU? Is it any good?
Thanks in advance.

Of course wnc and ckpv5 would be involved!
Guess I should have looked a little harder than searching by the numbers!
Many thanks!

If anyone is looking for an already modified version of the 6.20.502.5 firmware. I removed the boot.img and the recovery.img file and replaced the hboot file with one that has no red text. This firmware works fine on the AT&T and Developer's Edition models.
Download here.
Hey everyone in this post,
Please check to make sure that you are receiving voice calls. I just discovered that I can make outgoing calls just fine however ALL incoming calls are going directly to voicemail. I'm going to do a little more research but it looks as though I'll need to revert to an earlier firmware. I'm guessing this has something to do with HD Voice.
A couple more things of note: I'm on the latest version of ARHD which is 53.1 (MM); texts work fine both ways; data is fine; voicemail functions fine. Just to give a little background.

I'm having the same problem. I fiddled with the APN settings and it seemed (I'll try again) to fix that issue. Meaning I manually entered the APN settings and I was able to receive calls. A bit ridiculous.
Edit: It's not the APN Settings that helped. It's actually switching the preferred network from LTE to 3G or maybe even 2G. Haven't checked it on 2G.

I finally got mine working but I have no idea what the magical combination ended up being. I did downgrade to a previous 6.12 firmware but that alone didn't do the trick. I also manually added a new APN in addition to many other things one by one. I was actually on an outgoing call and my line beeped because I had a call waiting! I was so shocked (and pleased) that I hung on the person I was speaking with and answered the call. From then on it has worked fine. Having said that I'm going to sit tight with the phone the way it is until someone much smarter than me lays out a solid plan.
I'm glad you got beyond your problem as well :good:

Are you still able to receive phone calls while on 4G? Any further issues? I asked because ever since upgrading to LP firmware I no longer can receive incoming phone calls while on 4G but I can make calls. I have noticed that while on a call on 4G I can receive calls which is strange. So I have to stay on 3G to receive all incoming calls. Any ideas on a fix? Thanks

Your situation does sound similar to mine. Whatever combination of zany things that happened for me as forced my network into HSPA+ whereas it used to read LTE. I'm not referring to the icon in the status bar (that still reads 4G). If I go into Settings>About>Network>Cellular network type. That's where I see HSPA+, HSPA or HSPAP depending on where I am. My speeds are WAY slower but it's still functional, yet there's something obviously still broken. Since I can receive calls now I've decided to just "live with it" until I come across a proper solution that I know will work. If that day should ever come though, I'll be sure to post back here.
Update:
I am back to my "Cellular network type" displaying "LTE" and my download speeds also confirm this. Below are the additional steps I took to get to this point:
1. In the phone dialer enter *#*#4636#*#* (takes you to a "Phone info" screen)
2. Scroll down to "Set preferred network type" (take note of its current selection in case you need to go back)
3. Using the dropdown, select GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto
That's it. After a few seconds my data icon refreshed and I knew I was good to go. For good measure I went back to Settings>About>Network to verify my Cellular network type. Good luck.

AT&T's deployment of Voice over LTE (which they've branded "HD Voice") does not play well with international-based custom ROMs (basically, most any ROM that is not ATT based). Issues with voice calls is the common symptom.
Best workaround is to call AT&T and ask them to turn off HD Voice for your account (may need to ask for 2nd Tier tech support before you get someone who knows what you are talking about). Yes, you can turn off LTE, but that is obviously not a great option.
Other fixes (APN, firmware) are likely placebo effect at best. Went down a similar path trying to troubleshoot this problem for folks a year ago, before coming to the conclusion (Post #9): http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/help/incoming-calls-lte-mode-m8-att-arhd-34-0-t3026710
So, my phone can't make calls and I've tried everything I was able to find online to force it to do so. I took my sim card from my moto x and put it in you'd nexus 5x, but when I try to make a call it immediately hangs up. I've gotten a new SIM card and gone to multiple Verizon stores to fix it, to no avail. Lastly, I heard that I could make calls inever i enabled advanced/hd calling so that i could use data for the call. Whenever i go into testing settings to make the VoLte work and reboot, it seems to not keep the setting. I'm lost, and I just want to make calls. Any help?
In the past (16 years ago, in times of Siemens S55) there was a way to enable a second line on the mobile phone. I think it was something like pressing 0 for a few seconds to switch between the lines.
When activated without access to a second line, you were not able to make any phone call. Not sure if this function is still available at actual smartphones. Only a hint where you can search for.
Or, another hint, you've activated the call restriction (not sure if this is the correct translation from German). In the options of the phone you're able to block some or all numbers for outgoing calls.
Try to check in test menu (*#*#4636#*#*)if the phone is on LTE-only mode and put it on LTE/CDMA/UMTS

My H798 came across bootloop, after a fix from Huaqiangbei, Shenzhen, was sent to me today. The phone runs into a similar issue. Data and SMS work well, while any call will be held on "Calling…" for 30 seconds, with no sound, then end up with a beep of hanging up.
But my mobile carrier is China Mobile.
Same thing here, replaced with chinese motherboard and now no calls, but sms and data works fine.
It seems that there are different SMC for 4g and 2/3G, so it seems that there is a hardware fault on the 3g/2g chip.
Gonna try to gunheat it.
Hey friends,
I'm looking to take my Note 8 from Verizon to Tmobile. The problem I'm having at the moment is while on T-Mo's network all calls forward to voicemail, no problem with making outgoing calls. Spoke at length with Tech support and we ran a test and did ##21# to deactivate the unconditional call forwarding. The phone received a call immediately afterward, but after 5 minutes reverted back to forward all calls to voicemail. I have 2 note 8's from Verizon and both did the same thing. Brought over 2 iPhone SE's with no problem. In addition, the data drops completely during a call. The call will not connect until the data is dropped then the call beings to ring.
I tried first unrooted then rooted them as they both are V2 via SamFail. Any thoughts? Anyone experienced anything similar. Tech support from T-Mobile said that If the phone had a 2G Only option that the service would work fine. Weird... Regarding the root, should I flash a home_CSC from Tmobile?
Thanks in advance for those they respond. :good:
Hey guys,
I got a problem that recently started on my Pixel 2 XL. I am using my unlocked Panda on T-Mobile. I have had no problems at all since I got it. But, here recently I started having problems with the HD calling. I can not make calls to my wife (T-Mo Note 8). Its very curious. I can call anyone else with HD calling on but my wife. When I call her, it will ring once then hang up. The call with go through to her phone and see will see the incoming call for one ring then it is gone. What really throws me off is that she can call me with hd voice and I can have it on and it works no problem. Only when I call her with HD voice do I have a problem. I have tried a lot of things. I will list them below:
1. Reset my network settings
2. Reset her network settings
3. Factory reset my phone (April 2018, 8.1)
4. Try WiFi HD call, works, just not HD calling over LTE
5. Swap sim cards (Swapped her note 8 sim with mine. Her sim calling from my Pixel to her note still not working)
At this point I'm just confused. It worked fine before so what gives now? The only thing I can think is that she did get an update to Oreo 8.0 at the beginning of the month. I think it may have started around then. I can still call my brother with HD calling, on same plan, with LG V20. So what do you all think?
Most I can gather is it may be an issue software wise with my phone or hers. As a temporary fix, I have disabled advanced calling on my phone and all is good. If you all have any ideas or theories let me know! Until then, I will be waiting for a system update to hopefully fix.
