How to install an iOS theme? [FIXED] - Xiaomi Mi A1 Themes, Apps, and Mods

I want to install an iOs Theme because I feel it more fluid, but i noticed they all got removed from the Theme store, searching iOS you can't find anything related, not even icons, or how used to be, my iOS themes i had saved are gone, 've tried to install .mtz third party themes through different apps and they work but after a while they disable by themselves and my phone back to default theme and that's super annoying. My phone is rooted so I ask, there is a way to install an iOs Theme with magisk root or something like that. It seems the mtz themes (apply me ones) through themes store app are not fully working or working right. Or it detects them and disable them

How about substratum or hex?

The solution of this is using MIUI Theme Patcher by Kashi, a module for magisk https://github.com/Mods-Center/Miui_Theme_Mod
Thanks to the ones that tried to help me.

Wallpapers and JF ver. 1.41 with multi-touch

I have lost my original Stericson Blue Theme due to JFver 1.41 update.
Two of the replacement themes I have installed wipe the Multitouch Browser.
While the multi touch is more or less a gimmick I can live without, I would like to still have it because 7 of my coworkers have G1s and I have the only hacked one, and they are jealous of my themes and multitouch.
Is it possible to have themes w/multitouch capabilities and if so, how?
There are themes compatible with JFv1.4x ADP1/RC30, so yes, it is possible. Not sure about that particular theme though, Stericson's Blue theme.

I had the same problem but I deleted the browser.odex file rebooted and the Multitouch Browser worked
Furthermore,
I have also noticed that with 1.41 installed su works fine in Terminal Emulator, but as soon as I install a theme I get:
$ su
Error type 3
Error: Activity class {com.koushikdutta.superuser/com.koushikdutta.superuser.Sup
uperuserRequestActivity} does not exist.
su: permission denied
$
If I go back and reinstall ver. 1.41 I can get su back.
This was the problem I ran into trying to delete the browser.odex per the instructions on one of the themes.
I also tried to use apps that require root acess.
Like Task Manager for Root Users. It fails due to lack of root access after installing a theme.

This info is in the General Theme/Wapaper thread.
Both problems are due to outdated apk's in the theme.
Browser.apk from an old theme will break your multitouch browser and superuser.apk isn't new enough so you "lose root"
Try fadetoblue. It works great with 1.41 RC30.
Thank you for your response.
I guess I will have to wait till most of the Theme developers manage to update the .apks with the lastest elements.
I am having trouble d/ling the Android SDK so I can try my own themes.
I want stericsons blue theme

EEEERRRRKKKKK! Hold on..... The blue theme you are refferring to is not mine....That theme is called Blue Star 5, and was made by my good friend MANUP. Please, Please make sure he gets the credit for his hard work.
Thanks,
Stericson
There are two solutions to your problem:
1. You can replace the browser.apk and superuser.apk in you favorite theme with the updated ones (JFv1.41). You'll have to re-sign the .apk's and the .zip before installing. (You can even go in and swap the icons/graffics)
2. Extract the updated browser.apk and superuser.apk from JFv1.41 and adb push them on to your phone. (replacing the old/outdated ones)
I did option 1 when JFv1.41 first came out using manup's Vintage War theme and it worked perfectly.
Sorry Manup, Sorry Stercison
Because I couldn't find the original theme, I guess I assumed it was you stericson.
Manup, If you could update Star5 I would be grateful.
As to updating it myself, I am having no luck downloading the SDK, I have all the other plugin/java apps, but can't get to the downloads, for some reason, I am having trouble connecting to gl.download.com.
Even if I had it, I dunno If i have the expertise yet to edit a theme file.

[Q] Android themes question (very basic questions)

Hello I'm new to android. This is my first smartphone.
I had an ipod touch before , but that wasn't as confusing and complex as android is to jailbrake or install themes. Android overall is a very confusing system. It was very easy to theme and jailbrake my ipod touch.
I have been googling this question for some time and im still confused
My questions are:
How do install android theme?
Do all themes work for all phones?
Do you need a program to install themes (go launcher ex? what is that?)
And lastly are themes made for specific roms/phones.
Thanks.

Themes will be in a cwm flashable zip that you put on your sdcarx and flash in recovery.
Themes are very specific to the phone and rom that you are using. Sometimes I theme designed for one rom can work on another rom but that's certainly not guaranteed. Themes from a different phone will never work.
As I mentioned above, you don't need a specific program to install themes you just need to be rooted, which will install cwm on your phone.
You can find themes in the themes and apps section of this forum.

I just installed this amazing and fast rom :cm7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569895
And installed the Mate theme for ADW, so your saying that i don't need any launcher like ADWlauncher to install a theme? What the difference?
By the way the themes that come in .zip are complete?
Okay there's themes for the whole rom and themes for just the launcher. Themes for the launcher are found in the market and are only compatible with that launcher. Those will only affect your icons and app drawer. Themes for the rom affect your menus, status bar, etc. Now cm7 handles themes a bit differently. Cm7 themes are also found in the market (search for cyanogenmod themes). Once you download and install a theme you want, go to your app drawer and open theme chooser then pick the theme you downloaded and then reboot. No need to use recovery for cm7 themes.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense now
1 more question:
Do the zip themes that you need to flash in recovery don't use extra ram?
Example go launcher or adw launcher run on top of the system, while zip themes patch the system files so there is no extra service running. Is this true?

That is correct. All they do is replace the images with new themed images. No extra services running.

Cyanogenmod 11 Theming

Not sure where to post this, if its in the wrong spot feel free to move.
So I'm trying to make a theme for the new Theme Showcase engine and I had a couple questions. First, is the theme template compatible with the new Android Studio and gradle system or should I be using Eclipse? Second, I have tried to change some of the system ui icons from the theme template found here (https://plus.google.com/u/0/+BrianResnik/posts/51MZf7t9bUN) using the Android Studio and for some reason after I build the apk and install it on my device they dont show up. Just the default ui elements do. Even though it installs properly, it shows in the cm theme chooser, I can apply them, they still wont show. If you have any suggestions thanks in advance

Substratum support on Xperia ROMs?

Hey guys, I have an old Xperia XA living around, and I'm planning to root it soon and use substratum themes with Sony's ROM, but I'm confused if it's even substratum compatible or not.
Please let me know, thanks.

I don't think so. I don't know exactly how it works. I don't think it's quite like Xposed, where there needs to be a special framework in place, (since many Substratum themes do work on Los14, which is not officially supported), but I think there does need to be a compatible environment, similar to or based on AOSP. I think Xperia has it's own version of theming framework. For example, many of the files that control the UI on an Xperia are named 'somc_(something)'. Those files are specific to Sony phones, so a different theme engine wouldn't by default have any references to them.
However, I've never tried...
Is not working. You won't see any changes
Update: I know this is old and you might figured out but I will say this for others :
Substratum is working on Xperia ROMs but you need to use legacy theme, and some themes may break your systemUI but you can recover easy using twrp and others would not do anything at all. But I found ones that are working.
So: Find theme that supports legacy devices (rooted devices) and if your device doesn't start go to twrp file manager /data/apps and find the code name of the selected overlay: ex (themename.systemui...) Or something like this

So, for theming the systemUI I used only Grace UX. I used Navbars to change my system navigation bar and it seems to work, not only with that but with every theme that allows you to change system navbar. They don't crash your SystemUI. You can use themes to change your settings menu, not all work just some of them.
I have only installed:
Galaxy Evolution - Not working with the SystemUI
GraceUX - Everything works
Navbars which is working
I might test other themes and give you a feedback if you want
hello again...can you give me the link of the theme you use ?? (Grace UX)I can not find it thanks
also i test many themes on substratum theme engine and nothing happend.

I checked the telegram group but didn't see anything related to this.... so far I don't see any possible way
I've done it without rooting. It kinda works, main widget (weather + clock) is either too small or too big, also doesnt work on landscape mode, you will have problems in lockscreen etc.
I used miui theme kit apk to install theme and another app from play store that reveals hidden system apps shortcuts. App is there, it's just hidden, you can do some thing like get back to default theme.
That's a dissapointment because main reason i bought this pad is theme customisation. Most of MIUI features doesn't work here.
Check this out once https://t.me/redmipadofficial/1942 after u got root just flash this zip file which enables you to import and flash custom themes/fonts/wallpaper of your choice
You can get custom themes files from other Xiaomi device or from Google search miui themes then download the Mtz theme file and then
U have two ways to open this app, after u flash this magisk module u will not see any difference and can't see themes app in app drawer
1. Go to setting then in wallpaper and here u go with moded themes app
2. In steps -
long press on home screen ..choose wallpaper
top right ..choose themes icon
my account
themes .. import .. choose mtz files
apply and reboot once.
[Yeah, this mod themes app is taken from China miui Android phone rom hence it doesn't support landscape mode, bellow is the screen shot... Personaly I didn't found any good theme so I didn't flash any now but still good to have option in case u want to...]

I've tried this before and it would t work. I've seen the themes app is hidden but it will not open I receive the message it's not supported in your region. Changing the region doesn't help.

Will also suggest to try coustomiuizer 13 and Monet miui, allows you lot of customisation but one warnings don't mess up with charging animation... I messed once with lspossed wave apk from then on I am not able to find single method to get back to orginal charging animation... So now have to use that lsposed wave charging animation to hide stock crupted charging animation...
Otherwise everything works better than what miui gives...

I use customiuizer which is great. I will check out monet miui. All I really need now to make this perfect is to be able to change the grid size to utilise the full homescreen. Thanks.
