Device: Moto G6 Play (XT1922-2) from the UK
While using the device, it suddenly got really hot and then turned off, tried restarting it, after it cooled down a bit, but in vain.
When turned on again, the "Startup Failed" screen appears. I tried Motorola's "Rescue and Smart assistant" to solve the problem and followed the procedure. While fastboot was being flashed, it stuck on 67% and then it said "Fastboot flash failed".
Tried again, but every time there were different new messages (sometimes the device was not recognised, sometimes says "Model name missing" etc).
I then did a bit of research online and the general gist I got is to reinstall AndroidOS with Minimal ADB.
I'm just unsure which method to use as there are several methods for several versions (e.g. there are several XT****-*s). Also, I'm not sure because youtube demonstrators were using working devices and the screen of my device is very different than the others (Neither the green Android Bot nor I could use the volume up/down button to access modes)
Please excuse my lack of technical ability and I hope I could explain the whole scenario. I am also new to XDA so excuse the lack of general tradition on this site.
Now, the question I want to ask is this: If it is possible to unbrick (I'm thinking it got bricked), if so how? Also, does it matter which stock firmware is installed? (Like what's the difference between XT1922-2 and XY1922-7 for example, just curious) Also, the device doesn't power up anymore. The screens only appear when micro-USB is connected.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Right so I got this cheap Tablet for a friends birthday, He's not one for tinkering and his girlfriend who I picked it up for asked me to get it set-up ready for him to just use as a net surfer/occasional game device/Media slate.
Before I start, I have USB Debugging on, Unknown Sources etc all turned on.

I wanted to root the device, remove some of the pre-installed bloatware and just all-in-all tidy it up a little. After doing some research I discovered a thread containing "Generic A13 Tablet rooting" or something of that nature.. The first indication that there could be a problem with it was when installing all but "Android Device" driver was installed. I unplugged, uninstalled and basically tried everything including the PDAnet program.. I then discovered a link which had a driver to install. This appeared to have worked.
The PDANet program finished installing and never asked what Device I had..??
I brushed this to one side and checked ADB Devices; This just showed me the following.
Code:
ADB Devices
List of Devices;
There are no devices showing, I then thought Oh maybe its ADB.. I checked my Nexus, HTC Wildfire and my XPERIA Play, They all show up.
I then followed the guide to root the device using Doomlords Xperia Rooter, it starts.. and hangs at "Waiting for Devices".
I have been trying to do this for about an hour or two and I'm getting no-where fast.. Help!
Its an Allwinner A13 Tablet (with HDMI) also known as the Q88 A13 with HDMI
Can any body find driver or help us to find ?
Hi to all.

Hello!
I have an HTC Desire Z stuck in bootloop.
It's an unrooted, S-ON version.
I have tried the PC10IMG.ZIP via SD card route to no avail - don't know if that's because I couldn't find the right RUU. It seemed to get stuck at user data deletion.
I've now downloaded ADB and fastboot and managed to get the device recognised, but I have no idea how to go on. (All very new to me!) I am also having difficulties finding the right RUU/ROM for this. I *think* I found it on htcdev.com as 2.42.405.4, although it's in a tar.gz extension that I am not sure how to extract.
Another issue is that occasionally whilst in fastboot the phone seems to time out / switch off for no particular reason. It shouldn't be a battery issue but I am letting it charge for a bit just in case.

Anyone has any idea of how to progress? Would reeeeally appreciate it!
Erratic progress from yesterday:
* Have managed to extract the folder from HTCdev, but I don't see anything I immediately recognise as a ROM and therefore I am still stuck
* Would be happy attempting some of the recovery modes, but I don't understand if they work on S-ON, and if not if there is a way to bring the phone to S-OFF via adb or fastboot. And a hand-hold on selecting a recovery would be LURVLY.
Apolz for being such a noob, but considering I didn't even know what "rooted" meant yesterday, I feel emboldened
Next, I tried this system: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1572924
I get an error "Can't open /cache/recovery/command" - this is actually an error I have been getting very often
I tried manufacturing the folder and leaving it empty but it didn't make an iota of difference.
When I run the update I get an "Invalid operation" message and then it just reboots (i.e. gets stuck on HTC logo)
So, I might have made a mistake... got my M8 today (yay) and bought it used with GPE rom on it. Well the software kept messing up and I wanted to go back to stock... well I tried fast booting and using a RUU which failed (too many links). I decided to then unplug it and found a horrible screen of htc logo and 4 exclamatory triangles. I can access bootloader by unplugging the device, but the only option is RUU. cannot seem to get anything else.
Connect the phone and post the results of fastboot getvar all and we'l take it from there. If you can also post a screenshot of the bootloader screen that will help

ok, i reset device, unplugged and replugged it, went thru it again and it worked.
I am having issues with my Huawei M2-801L. I have tried doing a complete reset and everything with no avail.
So basically when I start the tablet, it brings up a white screen, I can't press the home button or anything, I can't swipe on the screen, only thing that works is me pressing the home button to shut it down.
It also keeps rebooting itself.
See image attached.
I tried to flash firmware on to Huawei MediaPad M2-801L.
I have a number of issues:
Can't get into device to enable Developer Options, there is a firmware problem not allowing me to do this.
I don't have an unlocked bootloader
Using fastboot commands to flash device keeps giving me this error: FAILED (remote: 'Command not allowed'). (I have installed Android Studio, and I am doing the commands within the "platform_tools" folder, with the relevant files to flash the device with).
I have even tried to install twrp with no avail
I have researched the internet for hours yesterday, trying different methods to try and get my tablet back up and running again. Every method I tried, I seemed to bump into many errors along the way.
I can get into fastboot mode and download mode. I have tried using QFIL, however I don't have a RawProgram and Patch file.
Is there something I'm missing? Can anyone guide me in the right direction if possible?
Thanks in advance!

Did these issues start before or after your display broke?

It was along time after
It could be hardware related due to the broken display.
As you can't get into fastboot nor into download mode, DC Unlocker or DC Phoenix are also no options to solving your issues.
If you can find a cheap replacement display on eBay, maybe this could fix it but it is a long shot.
Hello together
I tried to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 according to https://appuals.com/how-to-root-the-samsung-galaxy-tab-s4/
There I came up to step 10 (so I flashed the two files). Now the Tablet is kind of stuck in the boot screen showing this (the same for step 8 and 10 but at step 10 i lost the ability to get to the download mode):

The only thing possible is to gamble a bit with the keys power, volume up and down to get the yellow sign in the top left showing "kernel" instead of "recovery". Otherwise if I press all three buttons together the following screen comes:
I am a complete noob in that kind of things and got no idea what to do now. There is no possibility to open the download mode to revert something, neither TWRP is shown as it should according to the Description in Link above. If possible I dont want to get anything deleted. What can I do?
EDIT: If possible I still want to root the tablet because I only see advantages in it, even I never found a good (explanatory) tutorial on it.
kind regards
alhuwile
Ok as I was very impatient and tried a bit, the blue screen is actually the "ODIN Download Mode". I reinstalled the stock firmware (loosing all data) (and rooted the device with Magisk later on) so the sm-t830 works perfectly again.

Which guide did you follow and what firmware are you using?
