Will my Samsung galaxy s21 FE (SM-G990B/DS) will receive one ui 5 update? Is it USA locked version?
Exynos version, don't know which region, it should be the region where you bought it from, check software update update is rolled out.

G990B/DS is Snapdragon processor, Dual sim, Europe/International version, not USA.
Samsung S21fe USA versions have the model code G990U.
To find out the which country's software version you have, go to settings> about phone> Software information> Service provider software version. There you can find a 3digit code on the 2nd line, that's the CSC (Country Specific Code) of your phone.
Since your model is G990B, only four country's are yet to have android 13 update till date: SEK (Ukrain), SER (Russia), SKZ (Kazakhstan) & CAU (Georgia). You must have one of these region's phone.

I haven't noticed any improvement but I have to say I haven't tested it so much.
I feel my phone more responsive, battery life is (very) slightly better, I think that's all.
To me, not THE century update, but since Android 7-8 we got a well rounded OS harder to significantly improve.

No camera improvements. Shutter lag is still there, over-sharpening is still there, no telephoto RAW support, no expert raw support.
I havent received my update yet here in South Africa.
Will probably soon. know the Note 20 got it like a week ago..
But You should be able to get it.

Thanks for the update. It is dissapointing to see they have not focussed on addressing issues and making the photograpy aspect a priorty for FE users...Let's hope we can get further camera updates that will improve this for us!

I just checked the update and there's an update for my H930DS (Indonesia/IDN), its V10i-DEC-30-2017. Does anyone already had installed this update? How's the update compare to the previous version (V10f), what are the improvements here? Especially the battery life?
Update: link to download (for H930DS Indonesia ROM)

Dont forget to change user agent if you download using browser to:
LGE-ActiveDP/0.9
The same update seems to have been pushed out to H930DS phones for the HKG firmwares.
Interestingly, for these phones the version number is v11m - this is the first time I've seen LG use 11 in a firmware version.
(the firmware is Android 7.1.2 with the January security update)

Is it the same size as the IDN firmware update? only security update or is there any improvement? I dont want to screw up the-currently-great-battery-life. My previous LG G4 had better battery life before the latest update.
In India, we got the same update few day ago and it's just a security patch update which will bump it to January. And the battery backup remains the same.
Our updated version is V10d-IND
Just got this update on my V30+. Says V11m-DEC-29-2017
Size 773.87mb.
Not sure what phone usability and functionality has been improved. Would be nice to have a detailed explanation.

Biggest change in 1 January update is Netflix HDR video fix, now Netflix works fine for me on my LG V30+ H930DS HKG version. that was only complaint I had with V30 cuz I bought for multimedia. Camera on V30 is crap, worst on any 2017 flagship phone but I can live with that as I've also Pixel 2 XL and iPhone X.

Camera is definitely not crap. Note 8 might beat it in very low light, but even comparing Pixel 2 XL to V30 pictures, most in a random group chose V30.

New OTA firmware update for the Note + 5G, brings a number of improvements plus September security patch.

...can't say I've noticed anything significant...
Nice to see any updates however small, but this one tackles a few area's....., nice & early in the month to which is great to see :good:
This is good news, I was getting slightly anxious about the update frequency for this 5G model here in Europe, since not as ubiquitous here as compared to S.Korea, feared we'd become the neglected siblings.
Now looking forward to the Android 10 beta, and hoping we'll get an invite to the party. Not so much for Android 10 per se, more for One Ui 2.0, since I don't see much difference from One UI 1.0 and the 1.5 version that we have.

UHD @4k60fps is definitely welcome. Same for Super Steady mode on 4k30fps.
After updating, I'm getting a better success rate on the fingerprint sensor.
I hope they release Super Steady mode for 4k60fps too.

So, night mode with gcam has the same results as night mode with stock cam? If so, its a bummer.
Apologies for insisting, but there is absolutely no feedback available for gcam results on the S10 lite.
This might be true for other phones too but super steady video mode makes the image a lot darker than usual.

update sent to the European region solve this problem? Note that my device is on January update until this moment I have not received any update Can I download and install an update manually without a computer and without Odin like the Chinese devices?

Still not recieved any update for India region. Anyone else in Inida got it?
Samsung apparently paused updates in India during lockdown, they have now resumed updates. Maybe next month S10 Lite will finally be updated.
Got the update in India today, it's the same April update as Spain got earlier.
No noticeable camera improvements but I liked the new single take camera mode.

Just received and installed the OTA. In terms of updates, I'd say the N976B on par with the N975F
Interesting, no May 2020 patch for GN 976B. Two weeks behind at least. Wondering if Samsung is neglecting 5G devices...
nope that's just the way it is, I run a rom for both 5F and 6B variants of the plus
5g is just 2 weeks later and that's all lol that's just the way its always been on this device
can someone try and tell what it updates
Probably just the security patch

Really? We gonna have one new useless thread like that one each month?
Let me clear a few things.
Sony doesn't change anything between each update, the second firmware fix some bugs that might be there and that's all.
All next updates are security updates until next major android build.
Oh and Android R won't bring anything new.

It's really incredible to me that Sony still does not provide a change log. For my last few flagship phones I switched to OnePlus and got spoiled by the rapid iteration detailed changelogs and high consumer touch of a scrappy startup-minded manufacturer.
I really looked forward to getting the Xperia 1ii but have been completely disappointed in almost everything.

Can I ask how you know it's just a security update? I have several Sony Android based TVs that they pushed updates down to with no release notes that also included version increments for included apps.
I loved both the OnePlus flagships I had I had a 16 McLaren edition and a 7 Pro. The 7 Pro was just fantastic updates came out constantly with new features. I guess the only reason I didn't continue to buy OnePlus was I was frustrated that they got rid of the mechanical front-facing camera which made the display on the 7 Pro simply amazing.
OnePlus forums are very active lots of knowledgeable people and plenty of opportunities to sign up for beta features or releases.

Been using Sony phones since '08. Version number changes are more pronounced when there are significant changes. Sony never publishes change logs which is ridiculous but it won't change. Size is indicative as well. I think the file was 170mb or so, not really large enough to carry anything substantial.
It seems that the jpg rendering in the Photo Pro app for the wide angle lens has changed. It used to be different from the result in the normal photo app, but now looks the same.
XQ-AT52 from HK Is still on 3.88 ...... :'(
Security patch
I think it's a security patch, I hope they fix the screen mirroring issue, it won't play picture only shows background and plays audio. Same with usbc to hdmi adapter
Do Sony keep the security updates close to Google's? My job requirements is that they are running 3 months old security patches. My OnePlus 7 pro have been updated regularly as part of their beta program. It's been a while since I have a Sony, I think it's time to jump off the OnePlus for me.
