As the title suggests, what is the next steps? Will we be getting custom ROMs soon? Or are developers not interested in Razer phone? I haven't heard anything in regards to development, and I am curious what to expect, if any.
Honestly have no idea. I find the stock romantic to be pretty good though. Just waiting for oreo to come out.
Ah well I just rooted with Magisk. I miss resurrection remix, what with all the customization.

Honestly, wait for Oreo. We seem to have everything for Project Treble, and Razer still says Oreo in Q1 2018. At that point custom roms become much easier
Yeah I'm waiting on oreo personally.. My guess is with its release coming shortly, developers would be waiting as well lol
The only thing I'm surprised not to see is a tweaked stock rom removing alot of the games and adding basic features like pre rooted, center clock, **** like that
Flashing twrp seems to be a bit tricky and I don't want to go back to stock once a new update comes out. So I'm waiting for Oreo which hopefully will make things easier.
Trying to learn how to do it myself. This device hasn't received much support so far, just seems like it was to little to late from razer for the big devs.

The first step I think is to compile the kernel from source and start porting features. I managed to compile it but I lost wifi and the flashlight for now
I don't feel oos is fluid.
I liked cnp quite a bit but there's huge battery drain by Google Play services.
Treskmod is fine but not as smooth as cnp.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks for enlightening me
Anyone please?
Nobody can answer that question but you. What's smooth for you may stutter / lag for someone else and vice-versa. Try derpfest. https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/rom-unofficial-aosip-pie-beta-t3884802

You ever tried cnp?
How's derpfest compared to cnp?
derpfest has bugs i had a few system ui crashes for no reason
Post like these are the reason xda has got the way it has, try what you want to try......see for yourself, everyone has a different experience with any rom they flash... asking what's best for a particular person isn't going to help you. Moral of the story is, try them yourself, results will vary...happy flashing

I can't flash every single ROM out there. Also there come weekly updates.
What's wrong with asking for opinions?

I probably came across wrong, but in all honesty try roms for yourself, everyone has a different experience good or bad, if you ask what's the best you'll get ten different answers, try what you want and make your own judgement

I get why sjain11 asked the question, but you have a good point, there are lots of different ROMs because there's lots of different users with different preferences.
You try a bunch out and eventually you find the one that feels right. I advise trying each for a couple of days while using the phone like normal, of course if something really doesn't work for you from the get go move on right away.
I'm hesitant to give you an answer for the same reasons, but for me Official Resurrection Remix Pie has become my go to ROM for the 5T.
When I first got the phone it wasn't being updated, but it's had regular updates since with some huge bug fixes and it's currently (as of the newest build) VEEEEERY smooth. Everything is snappy. That is just my experience though, to find out you'll have to try it for yourself.
I came across an alpha build of los18. Anybody know if anything stable is available or in development?

Ok, so not quite true. I've been messing with a11 gsi roms. Actually having some success, but have been finding info on telegram, which I hate. Not much v30 specific info on xda that I can find. Anybody else out there been trying gsi based roms?

Everybody who makes their way to telegram inevitably returns here to ask questions after they broke their phone and get piss poor support there. We suggest you make due with one of the many ROMs developed at XDA.

Wow, what an absolutely phenomenal idea
Just kindly point me towards all of the a11 roms being developed here, or the threads about v30 owners trying to install gsi roms on their phones.
Believe me, if so many of the devs didn't hang out on telegram I wouldn't be there.

You won't really get Android 11. Stick with 10 or deal with the tg crowd. Those are your options on a >3 year old phone with few supporters on XDA and fewer developers.
Wow, just when I thought nothing could be less helpful than your first post...

Hello guys, I was planning to build a rom from source so that we can start integrating different custom roms for our devices. I have a rig with good specs and a good internet connection too. What roms do you suggest to build?
I was kinda planning to build anything that's possible since our Device Tree and Vendor Blobs is now available. I think this is a good opportunity.
Kindly leave some suggestions, I'm just a newbie.
CrDroid, Pixel Experience and Ressurection Remix.
But, why custom?
I really prefer the original stock ROM and keep the system unchanged.
So I love magisk, because I can root without having to modify the system.
Together, Xposed, XprivacyLua, Adblocker and TitaniumBackup are all perfectly fine.

If an O.S. developed by many, many people who are paid to develop this, has lags,
why won't an O.S. developed by one or two people have lags too?
If your battery is discharging quickly, just track battery usage and see what's draining excessively.

hmmm I must have bought a fake Device with a cheap 3rd party battery and Dual core 2012 MTK processor, or the many, many people are hired mainly not to develop the OS, but hired for inserting pernament adware and bloatware in the Device so that they could earn extra money.

I kind of hate apple Locked crap. The system updates destroys the nice flagship, and if you do not update, they will greet you by not allowing you to install any app.
Samsung is nice for me, but if you hate Samsung, I have nothing to say.

I guess you've never used Custom roms.
Custom roms perform better than MIUI, No bloatware by default and they have a better UI.

The computer science of Xiaomi devs should be teached by their PE or Music teacher. Even DIY roms are better than MIUI.
That's the issue with Xiaomi, good hardware, poor software. They are able to provide cheap smartphones only due to earning money from ads in the softwares. Let's see development for Note 9 is going good now, almost every bug is fixed and device tree is stable, forums for note 9 should be filled with roms within time.

If you don't like MIUI, certainly you should not buy a Xiaomi phone.
I prefer systemless modifications.

We aren't expressing what we like or what we don't, We're telling a man what to build. So please if you don't like custom roms, you may leave this thread.
Talking about "not trusted" , Custom roms are better in terms of privacy too and are trusted.
Saying a custom rom can't be trusted is one of the dumbest thing you could say on a tech platform with tons of custom roms threads.

There are thousands, if not millions, of people using custom roms on a Xiaomi phone and not a single one said their phones are hacked due to the custom rom. To say the least, Even MIUI is not close to being trusted as soon as you unlocked the bootloader.

Xiaomi builded the phone. So, I trust on Xiaomi O.S.
Anybody can build an O.S., so I prefer to keep with Xiaomi O.S.
If you prefer to use an O.S. builded by anybody that will never update it, well, it is your problem.
I prefer to keep with original stock rom.
It is my opinion.

Custom roms are regularly updated, they have maintainers for specific devices who update the rom regularly, with security patches. Please do not speak of something which you don't know of.
Any more replies to this will be ignored, Since you clearly don't know what you're talking about and this is going OFF-TOPIC.
Hey everyone, anyone here on the ProtonAOSP ROM? Was thinking of trying it out but wanted to get some feedback from actual users. I'm currently stock rooted and am really missing all the ROMs I had at my disposal on the 4 XL! I'm hoping that devs start it all up soon! My go to was DirtyUnicorns, but they shut down dev last year
I was using on P2XL for a while. Its nothing special (nor are most), basically gave me the freedom to not keep building AOSP for myself, so a convenient way to avoid goog crapware.
You should look at grapheneos.

For me on Pixel, none of the AOSP ROMs are worthy. You will eventually end up with issues.

There are a lot of ROMs for the 6 series. They're just not posted on xda anymore. I think there's 6 or 7 now. Proton, Derp, Statix, cRdroid, Calyx, Graphene etc
I have tried a few. They're ok. 🫤
You can get them here if you were wondering.
pretty easy install, just use the fastboot -w command , fastboot update <pathtorom.zip> for most.
i would still prefer stock.
