How can I create shortcuts to files or folders and put them on a HomeScreen background?
When tapping on folder shortcuts they should be opened with the default file manager.
Or (in case of files) they should be opened by the corresponding default program (e.g.videoplayer for *.mp4 videos)
Is this possible at all?

Does anyone know the .lnk for the Settings folder page? I dont need the one for the folder itself but the one to the regular page showing in icons view Hopefully someone out there understands what Im trying to ask for.

More specifically, is there a LNK that points to the Windows DEFAULT Settings folder, not the Manila Settings (which is HTCSettingsEntry.exe contained in settings.lnk in the Windows/Start Menu/Programs folder).
I believe it's going to be something along the lines of ctlpnl.exe... but I can't find the solution.
Anyone???
Just create folder ''Settings'' in Windows\Start Menu folder - restart device and you will have Settings folder back in start menu.
hi all,
I'm running Miri' lastest 2.5 manila ROM and I'm having some problems tidying up the start menu.
I'd like to have a few extra folders, tools, connections, mutimedia and such. I have created these folders in \windows\start menu\programs ok and i copied all the shortcuts into the correct folder and then i deleted the oringal shortcuts.
My problem is that even though the apps i have installed since I flashed my phone have now moved to the correct folder, the apps that are included on the ROM are still present in the start menu and my folders.
Have i missed a step here?
Is there another location i need to go to to remove the links in the start menu?
Presently if i open \windows\start menu\programs with a file explorer there is nothing in there but the folders i created (no shortcuts). If i open the start menu from my home screen all the shortcuts come back!!
Any ideas anyone??
Cheers in advance

This app puts applications in 1 folder that can be put in the homescreen as a widget. Just click that widget and all the applications that u have compiled in that folder will appear . You can even put a password on that folder.
I googled the whole thing, but everyone says about how to add shortcut on desktop. I want to create a shortcut to folder in file manager but not creating shortcut on desktop. Desktop here means home screen of android. Do anybody knows how to create shortcut to file/folder except for home screen?
I just noticed that there is no folder or folder shortcut for music/audio on the Tab S 10.5.
There is a gallery folder, a video folder & a My Files folder, but no music folder.
I have to click on My files icon to get to the Audio option folder, but I can't get that folder to show up on my main page.
Is this normal? I would like the official folder with icon to be on my tablet.
