I just received my MI Pad 5 and I'm very disappointed with the max volume output through speakers, it's very low compared to my old Huawei Matepad and my phone.
Can someone tell if this is something known for this device?

Hi,
I wanna know if a 32 ohm impedance headphone will output volumes high enough?
Currently 16 ohm in-ear headphones produce volume loud enough?
will the high impedance cause low volume output in the nexus 7?

Ive got 24ohm Sony MDR1RMK2 and it drives fine.. But htc m7 and fiio x1 seem to drive it better
so low impedance == more volume
I was thinking about these http://www.flipkart.com/sennheiser-px-80/p/itmdayyhguhp8dyf?pid=ACCDAXKT8BHHAMHY
BTW hows Lolipop update on nexus 7? hearing lot of complaints about battery drain and poor gaming performance The nexus 2012 Version seems to be slower after the update so is it better i hold off on the update?

This is 2013 nexus 7?
Generally lower impedence means its easier to drive to it cam go louder without distorting. That said, with most normal headphones at normal volume it ahould be enough
Lollipops fine, just flash the proper bootloaders and everything dont half update
Thanks Yes 2013 version
Using 44 Ohms headphones with it (ATH-ESW11LTD). Drives it fine, no distortions or anything, even though I have to go over the halfway mark (which gives a volume warning, even though the actual volume is not that loud)
The DAC in the Nexus 7 2013 is quite good, just not very powerful at all
Hi I had the sennheiser px 100 since 6 year and working well but had less bass compared to the CX200-230 series
The phonearena review shows the headphone output power it around 2 volts which puts it amongst the highest of any smartphone. I am curious if this translates to good audio quality or if it's really only a means of powering bigger/better headphones.
I'm considering the differences between the Meizu MX4 Pro, Vivo x5 Max, HTC M8 and this
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone tried a pair of high impedance headphone with the 5Z?
I currently own the Sennheiser HD58x Jubilee (150-ohm) and I'm hoping this phone can drive them without an external amp.
My LG V20 can drive them no problems.
Thanks
I get mine tomorrow and I have a pair of k7xxs and dt 770 pros, I'll test them when mine gets delivered

Awesome! Thanks! :highfive:
I'm curious about this as well. PhoneArena measured the jack output to be only 0.252V which is terrible even compared to Sony Xperia (Z5 to XZ Premium).
initial impressions with the beyers is quite good. They aren't driven perfectly but it's not the worst that I've heard. the k7xxs while they feel almost right they have a bit of a hollow sound to them. It's better than my old phone but not as good as the htc 10. They both get loud on the 5z though at least. on the beyers they feel slightly more recessed than normal but still have their characteristic bass. the k7xxs just feel hollow in general.
MY ATH cans having 47 Ω impedence needs to be kept a almost max volume for decent fidelity .. Kind of a bummer considering that its got DTS-X headphone support . The Mi A1 was way better interms of headphone audio

Which is funny since the mi a1 has a terrible buzz, and my beyers never got close to loud out of it yet they get fairly loud on the 5z for me.

I never had the buzzing problem with Mi A1 . In terms of Audio fidelity some thing like the lenovo vibe X3/Lg V20 still reigns; but power output on A1 was very adequate and pretty clear even at 50% volume levels . 55% on A1 = 100% 5Z in terms of volume levels ; that's where the 5z kinda sucks .

What is the impedence of your Beyers? At what volume do you have to set it to be confortable?

Not too bad! Thank you very much. :highfive:
I confirm my 5Z can drive my Sennheiser HD58X Jubilee(150 Ohms) when the volume is at 95%.
The sound is not as good as my LG V20's Quad-Dac though.

Play with the audio wizard and listening profile, it seems like the phone goes off of it.

I disabled the AudioWizard and the sound is actually better.
Hi, I just got my phone, and it has low sound when playing media and with distortion, could it be that my unit is faulty?
Sound quality through headphone jack is good to me, its stereo speaker is fine. I had a lenovo vibe x3 which has same DAC chip as LG V10 and i think mate 20 sounds better. And louder too. But my mate 20 has yellow tint issue on half bottom display, like top is cold but bottom has warm color. How about yours?
Speaker is trash, compare to Mate 9 and Mate 10.
Can anyone tell me what sound quality is like out of the speakers. Don't mean headphone jack just the speakers themselves???
Thanks

I now have Lenovo Vibe X3 and I'm thinking about buying Huawei Mate 20 because of its screen and battery. But sound quality... Are you kidding??? Mate cannot sound better just because Lenovo Vibe X3 has a dedicated sound guts (one of the best implementations of mobile DAC and a couple of amplifiers) whereas Huawei - not. There are sound labs test which tested Huawei. And it's not a musicphone. FOR SURE...
listening in Neutron app (both phone support hires) with same headphone (Fiio F9 pro) gave me that personal opinion, yeah im not kidding when it comes to music. gsm tested same dac for different result (kirin 970 and 980 using same dac) and what make that mate 20 sound lab test result was bad for listening to music. at the time i bought mate 20, i considered note 8 exynos version also, had brought an earphone to test both and bought my first huawei in the end.
Que DAC de audio tiene el mate 20? Es "HD"?

Works in HD mode with good headphones, i dont had problem with sony WH-1000XM3 and poweramp paid and beta version, getting 96khz, 24 bit of output with codec ldac bluetooth, with cable u ll get 192khz
mate 20 speaker sound a bit poor compared to mate 10 or even mate 9 ,
Not a lil bit, really poor compare to Mate 9 and 10
Use this App it's work with me to boost the sound.

You can not boost the sound because the hardware is trash.
Hi all,
I have the redmi note 8 on miui global 11.0.11 and I have an issue with the sound level when using bluetooth. I have a pair of bluetooth earphones (and also the same applies to car audio connection) that I'd been using with my old iphone 7 with no issues, I pair the same earphones to my ipad, no issues, I pair to my galaxy tab s6 no issues. When I connect it to my redmi note 8 the volume level is too low. Even when I max out the volume, I can hardly hear anything, especially outside during the day, even when I'm in a relatively quiet area (university campus with no students because of covid). I've tried bluetooth absolute volume limit in dev options (although that option does nothing on xiaomi phones ). This is driving me insane, I have tried with a couple of other headphones, still the same. In the car I can increase it to a level where it is loud enough, but the same level is then too high when I get a phone call. There is no option to sync bluetooth volume to media volume anywhere in the menus, I'm almost sure that is the cause of the problem but have no way of fixing. Can anyone offer any help. Cheers.
