Hello,
I share my Prime video account with my father and I want to connect it on his Fire TV (Stick 4K). Of course, I don't want to connect my full Amazon account on his device.
So, I have created a new Fire TV account for him but when I launch Prime video, this is automaticlly connected with this new Fire Tv account.
Possible to connect a Prime Video account which should be different than Fire TV account ?
Thanks
Hello,
No idea ?
I thought about removing the "pre-installed" Prime video app (adb shell "rm -r /system/priv-app/com.amazon.firebat/") and install another version (for example, from "APK Combo": https://apkcombo.com/fr/prime-video/com.amazon.avod.thirdpartyclient/).
But I imagine that I need to have rooted rights to remove system app ?
So, I have tried :
1.
Code:
C:\androidSDK\platform-tools>adb shell "rm -r /system/priv-app/ccom.amazon.firebat/"
rm ro dir /system/priv-app/ccom.amazon.firebat/ (y/N):
But impossible to write y (and also N). Keyboard seems to be not inactive
2.
Code:
C:\androidSDK\platform-tools>adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.amazon.firebat
Success
So Prime video was uninstalled.
3.
Code:
C:\androidSDK\platform-tools>adb install -l Amazon.apk
531 KB/s (38047702 bytes in 69.951s)
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_CONFLICTING_PROVIDER: Package couldn't be installed in /mnt/asec/com.amazon.avod.thirdpartyclient-1: Can't install because provider name com.amazon.identity.auth.device.MapInfoProvider.AVOD (in package com.amazon.avod.thirdpartyclient) is already used by com.amazon.avod]
So, impossible to install the downloaded apk (https://apkcombo.com/fr/prime-video/com.amazon.avod.thirdpartyclient/) due to com.amazon.avod
4.
Code:
C:\androidSDK\platform-tools>adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.amazon.avod
Failure [DELETE_FAILED_INTERNAL_ERROR]
So, no right to uninstall this app.
Yea, Prime Video is a system app, and you can't uninstall / modify the system partition. You can only uninstall updates to system apps which are located on the data partition (data/apps).
The ADB uninstall command, removed a Prime Video update, and the system/priv-app copy was then used. The second uninstall attempt tried to remove the system/priv-apps copy, and gave you the permission error.
Prime Video can only be updated with an APK with the same signature, which only Amazon can produce.
Works by cloning the app (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tool-clonemyapp-android-apk-cloner.4513777/#post-87668059)
I'm able to connect with a seperate account to Prime video !
Working instrcutions :
1. Remove "pre-installed" prime video:
/!\ Needed : Install Android SDK on computer and activate USB debugging on the device
adb connect xxx.xxx.xx.xx (IP address)
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.amazon.firebat
2. Donwload Prime video application:
https://m.apkpure.com/fr/prime-video-android-tv/com.amazon.amazonvideo.livingroom/
3. Clone Prime video application:
Clone My App | Android APK Cloner
Clone Android apps online. Install multiple copies of the same Android app.
clonemy.app
4. Install the "cloned" application on Fire TV:
/!\ I share a dedicated folder on my computer (smb v2 protocol is prefered) and I'm able to see all files inside it with X-plore app (LAN section -> scan -> windows user + password).
5. Launch the new Prime video app and now, this is possible to connect a account that you want !

Ah cool you found a solution . Yea cloning the app will copy the app and create a new package name so it doesn't conflict with the package name on system/priv-apps.
I'm not sure about unforseen consequences?
If you have any issues with the Android version of Prime Video from APKPure, you can find older versions of the Amazon App Store version here:

You can try a much older version of Prime Video, or ask the Clonemy.app developer about cloning apps from the Amazon App Store.
If the Android version of Prime Video is working then there is no need to worry. Are you getting 4k video and HDR10+ support? Maybe it doesn't matter for your setup?

Thanks but I'm pretty sure that all versions of Firebat will use automatically the user from Fire TV account !
With the copy of Prime video, I can enter an other account !

I did the sideload of the apk and the odex in system/app but nothing seems to work. i also did that for the other apps but doesnt work on CM12
They cannot work, the system framework is different, then there's euclid (for 2D / 3D), also: most of the apps depend of the device client platfom framework and libraries and the cms from Amazon.
80% of the OS is basically a big collection of content providing apps, shopping portal and cloud based services, etc. No wonder, since it's from Amazon.
Keep those Amazon apps away from any phone, they don't deserve this steaming pile of s#it. CM(12) wipes the floor with FireOS.
Hello.
Follow the link below. Tested and works perfectly.
Got rid of all those useless google apps and some huawei apps.
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
What are the apps that can be safely uninstalled ?
I deleted all of the below without any issues:
com.huawei.appmarket
com.huawei.KoBackup
com.huawei.parentcontrol
com.facebook.katana
com.facebook.system
com.facebook.appmanager
com.huawei.himovie.overseas
com.huawei.himovie.wallet
com.huawei.wallet
com.huawei.search
com.huawei.vassistant
com.huawei.health
Please bear in mind that the above list does not include all of the bloatware.

No... And to be honest this isn't really uninstalling them, just disabling them and after a factory reset they will be back.
You cannot install applications as system applications without root. You also can't just install the call recorder app, it won't work... It requires a special kernel support that our device does not have to work.
Hi guys,
I did research about the default video player in Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro with google and here in xda forums but I didn´t found a solution. It seems that a lot of Xiaomi users have this problem but it doesn´t work to change video player default app. Maybe xda has tips & tricks.
Changing default apps can be done in apps > customize apps > default apps. Changing default apps works for all exept Video player.
I changed the default value (which was "choose default") video player to vlc player and started a video via file explorer. The video opens in a Xiaomi video player. I did a reset for default apps and changed again to vlc player as default and it didn´t work. Tapping and holding on the video its not possible to open via another app but only send to vlc player which didn´t work.
After trying to set default video player app via app customizing I deleted some packages with "player" via ADB tools. It still opens videos with a Xiaomi video app. But I can´t find the video player "app" Xiaomi is using.
Does anyone know how to change the Xiaom default video player?
A strange thing is that I didn´t see a Xiaomi video player app before and after using ADB tools to delete packages.
I have faced the same issue wih Redmi 5A.
Already installed VLC app.
Then now i have deleted some more apps and went ot default gallery App and pressed on a video. Now it has asked for a player. So my problem has been solved.
attaching a screenshot for additional deleted apps. Try out these apps too. (Dont blame me if something goes wrong. Try at your own risk)
Cant attach screenshot. dont know why. but adding the text from ADB tool

Done!
The only solution I found was disabling it from ADB tools. You can add it manually, package name is: com.miui.videoplayer
When you disable it, you'll most likely lose the ability to edit slow motion videos, though. And it can't be installed as a user app, so if you reinstall it, it will go back to system.
Hi, I have a FireTv Stick Lite, I would like to uninstall Amazon Music, Prime Video, what can I do?
Also, which mod rom to replace the original one?
There are no mod roms as this bootloader is locked.
You can't uninstall the contents of /system/priv-app/ folder.
But the good news is you can disable them which is the next best thing.
pm disable-user - - user 0 com.amazon.nameoftheapp.
You can find a firestick lite /new firestick guide to debloat of system apps either by going here :

Hello. I have a Fire TV Stick Lite running 7.2.2.8. Gone through the post and applied the "Debloat the Lite of Unnecessary Sh*te", installed all the apks. I went with Wolf 0.1.7 as the launcher. When running FTVLaunchX I had to run the below...

Hi guys,
I recently bought a firestick 4K that was still unlockable, so I followed the unlock thread and installed magisk to root it.
My firestick 4K FireOS is 6.2.7.7
I noticed the amazon launcher is the old version, and looks very bad on large screen, app cards too large and not well organized.
A friend of mine has the new version and it looks really better.
I'm planning to install an alternative launcher (do you have any suggestion?) but if I would like to install the updated version of amazon launcher would it be possible?
Is it safe or will break anything? (root, etc)
If it's possible, where I can download the apk? Can I extract the apk from the my friend 4K firestick?
