Thank you
Installed without issues coming from an android 12 rom. Sim card took a minute or two to register during initial startup but no problem afterwards. Everything seems to work no problem although Google pay does not work out of the box. Thank you for your work, Pixel 2 xl is alive and well

Hello, what do you mean by this? Its not working by default?
Does it support OTA? and I couldn't find official download, only unofficial.
Thanks!

Correct, google pay tap does not work by default. I would imagine magisk and some modules are required to pass safety net or CTS checks(sorry I don't know much about this topic on android 13) Only unofficial for android 13 for lineage looks like. OTA I have no clue as I adb/fastboot clean everytime
Since LOS doesn't allow reporting bugs on unofficial builds so I guess I can put it here.
Expected Behavior
Unlocking phone from either lock screen or screen-off state should working normal.
Current Behavior
SystemUI crashes after unlocking from lock screen if the previous unlock was done from screen-off state.
Possible Solution
Replace the default Pixel Launcher.
Steps to Reproduce
1. Lock the phone
2. Fingerprint unlock without wake the screen up
3. Lock the phone
4. Wake the screen
5. Unlock with either FP or passcode
device taimen
version lineage-20.0
date 2022-11-05
kernel 4.4.302-lineage-g441dbc7fd87e
baseband g8998-00034-2006052136
mods Google Apps/Pixel goodies included with the rom
The logcat is filtered from "com.android.systemui" and "com.google.android.nexuslauncher"
I suspect the animation of the wallpaper going from lock screen to home screen was causing the issue.

Yeah I just hit this when I updated Pixel Launcher right before release - build with the fix is in testing right now.
the updater forcecloses when I tried to update from 20221105 to 20221109 and from 20221109 to 20221110. I had to update with sideload.

Thanks for keep this mobile alive
Hey Dev!
Thank you for your continued support of Taimen as this phone still is a workhorse even in late 2022! I can not log into my snapchat as of the latest build, today is 11/17/22 , it says due to repeated attempts or unusual activity your access to snapchat is currently disabled. I reverted to the stock 11 rom and it worked fine! Yes I tried their troubleshooting and support to no avail. How fluently you have 13 working on here Google should still supported Taimen!!!!! Thank you I look forward to and anticipate future builds!!! I flashed back to your rom after testing logging in on 11. Also the SELinux not enforcing thing I am concerned about as well.

SELinux is permissive due to a single bug I need to solve.
And snapchat is safety net related. Enforcing might fix it alone.
SELinux is now enforcing indeed! But I still get the same login message on Snapchat. Oh well ****em
It's too much to flash on these things so I'll be sticking with your ROM indefinitely!

LineageOS is a free and open-source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers, based on the Android mobile platform.
This is an unofficial build of LineageOS for the Pixel 2 (walleye). I always liked Lineage (and its predecessor CyanogenMOD) as well as the Google line of phones. Unfortunately having a Google Pixel phone isn't certainty for a lot of custom ROMS anymore, so that's why I decided to compile my own version. It's been quite challeging, but I think I finally have a build that is good enough to share.
About
This ROM is is always built straight from the LineageOS sources found on https://github.com/lineageos. There are only 3 changes in order to get this build:
The binaries for this ROM come from AICP
GApps are compiled with the ROM from MindTheGapps including the Pixel specific bits for unlimited photo upload for instance
Disabled Android Verity Boot (AVB), so we don't get the security warning when booting
I am not a developer, I only build this ROM and it reflects the the current status. If there are any things missing or not working I suggest to contact the LineageOS team, they are the real geniuses here and deserve all the credits. I will try to keep this ROM updated on a regular basis.
First Installation
Installing the ROM can be a little hard, especially the first install. Upgrades will be relatively easy though. This first setup is only needed when coming from a different ROM then this. I can't support you if you did't follow this first installation. Be warned it will wipe your user data in the process
In order to get the initial setup and also to use the same vendor partition as the ROM you have to install the latest stock Pixel 2 image from Google found here. More info on unlocking your phone and installing the latest Pixel image can be found in the excellent post by @nathanchance found here. The bestway to flash a stock ROM in my opinion is @Deuces' script found here. The benefit of this is that it'll flash the image to both slots, so they are both on the latest build, including the bootloader and radio. All instructions for using the script are inside the forum. After flashing the image make sure you reboot at least once (no need to set it up now though).
Place the ROM and optionally the TWRP zip and root from (Magisk or from LineageOS (not tested) on the phone and reboot to recovery by using the command line (fastboot boot twrp.img)
Wipe 'data' and 'Dalvik / Art Cache' from TWRP - Wipe - Advanced Wipe. Optionally you should also delete the Android folder on your internal storage through the TWRP File Manager
Flash the ROM and optionally the TWRP zip and reboot the phone
Upgrades to new version
After the hard initial work to get the ROM installed it's going to be easy for upgrades to new versions.
Download the new ROM and reboot of flash to TWRP
Flash the new ROM and optionally TWRP. If you want to flash another kernel or a root solution you will have to reboot you phone, so it switches slots and let it boot normally. Then go back to recovery and flash in this order: TWRP - kernel - Magisk and reboot
After a monthly update from Google and only when LineageOS also adapted to the latest monthly sources (I will tell you this) you will have to do an extra step:
Download the latest Lineage OS ROM and place it on the internal storage
Download the latest image from the Google Factory Images site and run Deuces' script. No need to wipe your data!
After the script finishes it automatically boots into the bootloader. From here fastboot into TWRP and flash the previously downloaded new ROM, optionally followed by TWRP.
Optionally, after a reboot you can flash Magisk and/or another kernel.

I don't have a clue. It just seems that anyone who posts a ROM gets the thread closed. It's almost as if they don't want walleye to have any development.
Just check this forum out compared to the pixel XL 2 forum.
Thanks very much for sharing this. I've got it installed and it's running fantastic.
Everyone who has had a rom thread has closed the thread for different reasons, time, family, frustration or lack of support etc...
I see don't see why we should be negative and assumee the same is the case with this build. Every rom thread has produced better and more stable builds as time progressed.
@Joregen2009, I have seen your name around before, appreciate you building!!

It's my pleasure. I only wanted to share my build, because I know that many of you much be as frustrated as me for the lack of ROMs for our device.
We'll see how long this thread will hold. If it's up to me I'll try to provide at least a weekly build from the actual sources, or whenever there are some major changes in the sources that are important for our device until the Lineage Team declares our device official. Let's hope that happens soon and that this thread can contribute to that.
Awesome! Thanks for this ROM. Any known issues one should be aware of before flashing?
Does Lineage have Substratum support ?? Having trouble connecting......
Update. Found answer - : no substratum support
@jorgen2009
Hey thanks so much for the ROM. Its working great!
Is there any chance you could link me the kernel source for this specific build? (Pixel2)
I'm trying to figure out how to rebuild it with the drivers for my TP-LINK WN722N V1.
I really don't know what I'm doing but I'm trying to learn.
I'm trying to follow this guide to accomplish this.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338179
I do have Kali for Magisk up and running just fine.
Lsusb command shows my WiFi Adaptor but the kernel won't let me use it.
Thanks so much for reading, if what I'm trying to do is stupid feel free to let me know why haha. If I get it to work I'll share it with everyone.

Sure, see LineageOS sources on github, I didn't touch the kernel in this build:

I am still getting the security warning when booting. Am I the only one so I missed something?
Other question: is the Trusted Faces not working because the used GApps package has not been modified for the Pixel, or the ROM has got some incompatibility issue?
Great job. Just a little bug: Long press power button to turn on torch is not working when Ambient Display is set to always on.

Are you sure you are on the April vendor? Your vendor version must be the same as the ROM needs (currently the April one).
Trusted Faces is GApps related yes, it's not in MindTheGApps. I'll try to make a build with OpenGApps in to see if that works. Both Face Detection for Media and Face Unlock are in the Nano package (https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Nano-Package)

I'll put it in the known issues list in the OP later this week for an overview
Another build is up. This time I used OpenGapps so you might need to clear the Store cache. I had no problems upgrading myself. The Text-to-speech improved a lot with these Gapps for me.
New in this build is the LED light when charging and some basic stuff for more compatibility with our device and some networks. Also all the normal changes since the last build for LineageOS are in of course. For the download link see the OP. I also adjusted the OP a bit to show the things that are known not to work. Let me know if I missed something so I can adjust the list

It is indeed a known problem that Offline Charging isn't available, once the developer of the LineageOS ROM finds time to implement this, I will most certainly include it in this and other ROMs too.
Hey
thank you soo much! I've been using an OP7t but now I'm actually thinking of giving another chance to the Samsung.
Mind someone giving some help on root and magisk please? Last time I rooted was 5 years ago
Basically, I rooted on stock and I have had magisk working. Then I followed this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-0-x-twrp-for-galaxy-s10-e-5g-exynos.4180287/ to have twrp and installed this pixelexperience rom. How do I get magisk with hopefully the security working (with the proper config and patches). I found this file: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/14LgOP_7B_N55FR2_v4pBce_lLU7aNu-M however it's unclear to me which one is for my version (s10+ SEE Europe edition). I get I have to use it as a base for magisk patching (right?) but I just don't get which one?
Thanks
My bad, got the idea...
hmm
how to get the fingerprint working properly? does it involve the CLI tool provided in magisk or it should work natively?

If you have everything setup you just need to flash the proper .img to your boot partition.
That's it.
You need beyond2LTE.
Don't use magisk patching, I tried to update it through that and after my phone didn't boot. Fixed that with the .img in the link.

the trick is not to long press the fingerprint
Aslo, I've read through the telegram channel that actually one should setup using the CLI - but only if it's not working (telegram of Ivan Maler - lineagOS 18.1 dev).... There are a lot of helpful hints there btw.
ok, are there some culprits as to when is magisk working after reboot? seems I have lost root in along the way.
Can anyone else confirm whether the Bixby button works or not? And also, is there a setting somewhere (or a workaround) to force some apps and games to utilize the full screen including the notch area as in stock One UI? (I heard that there was a setting for this in Developer's Options, but haven't been able to find anything so far)
PS. Solid ROM BTW, updated from Pixel Experience Beta. Been using that one as my daily driver since January, and now updated to this one.
How do I get GPay to work? Do I need Magisk for it?
Edit: safety net doesn't pass by default for me for some reason

I think you mean the display cutout settings. I don't think they work to do that though. I think there is no way to force full screen unless you use Samsung ROMs. It's up to the app developers to do it themselves.
hey
does anyone have problems booting and rebooting the phone? Basicaly mine is stuck with a black screen. The only way I can get SOME signs of life is to boot it using the volume-downd + powerkey combination and then volume-up, bixby and power to get to twrp bootloader. From there I select reboot to system but nothing happens.
I thought that the reboot was somewhat klunky with magisk but I really didn't learn the trick yet. I appreciate any advice.
thanks
Google assistant is not working on the bixby button
Even configuring still not working
Hi all,
Is there an easy way to get off the BETA pixel experience onto this one, if I have magisk flashed?

I had 2 reboots. But couldn't find the reason. Was once overnight and once in your pocket. I think the "screen on notification" was to blame.

Does this ROM spam with "System Ul isn't responding" with Magisk like some other ROMs?
Also, has anyone faced problems with Magisk and finance apps on this ROM?
PixelExtended works very well with finance apps and Magisk, but it spams the dialog "System Ul isn't responding". It real starts to get on my nerves and I'm looking for an alternative ROM.
Very good ROM, stable and everything is working.
One note tho to all having problems with reboots or random locks. I've had the same but found out solution.
Before doing clean flash I recommend disabling encryption/pin/fingerprints in your previous OS. DON'T FLASH MAGISK YET. Then after you perform clean flash as described in instruction - reboot straight to system, do the initial config - but DON'T ENABLE ENCRYPTION/PIN just yet.
Let it update/configure itself, wait for like 10 mins, browse some internet, perform soft reboot and unlock. Launch Play Store, install something, close it. Then plug in your charger and let it sit for 30-60mins. This way you will yet your Google Play store and Google Play Services updated to newest version while staying as Certified.
Next download Universal SafetyNet Fix, Magisk manager, then go Airplane mode, reboot to recovery and flash Magisk, don't wipe any caches, soft reboot to system. After launching install Magisk manager, enable MagiskHide, install Universal SafetyNet Fix, soft reboot, disable Airplane mode, check for SafetyNet and you're good to go.
Only this way it works amazing. Everything is super smooth, battery life is great, no issues whatsoever. If I rushed Magisk and encrypted memory at first boot tho, then it had issues. After doing steps above you can encrypt it ofc and SafetyNet is passed.
Thanks for this amazing ROM!
edit: by mistake I posted it here, but I was referring to this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-11-0-miatoll-pixelexperience-aosp.4245389/
I think tho that it also applies to this ROM. Good job anyways!

sorry again for third replay, as far as camera goes, the pictures are blown out in the preview. Like they appear regular then get blown out, it's like the software correction raises brigthness and contrast way too high.
I don't remember much about anx, if it is anx camera, but in the profiles, there was a way to select white balance. I can't find it in there, unless I'm not looking at the correct place. Thanks

Nice work. For install going from 18.1 to 19 do we need to flash the copy partition zip like the initial install?
Just installed from 18.1 without issues. Time to play around

Beautiful, solid build! Superb job, you guys!
As far as "bugs unknown" clause is concerned, my river model xt1962-4 does seem to have a location bug since los 18.1 which did NOT occur in 17.1 The bug has been reported here
If anyone with the same model on 18.1 or 19.1 would take time to check whether you also experience this issue, I would greatly appreciate it!
Only issue I have so far is a pop up telling me "Android System Intelligence keeps stopping".

I haven't seen this error in this build. If my memory serves me, I have seen this error it in the Pixel Experience ROM last year with a different device. It turned out that flashing a newer GAPPS package fixed this. I used the Mind The GApps 12.1 for this build and seems to be ok.

what version of twrp is recommended for installing the moto g7 power ocean builds. i have twrp 3.5.2.10 on my device. want to be sure that it will install with that version of twrp. i prefer twrp over the lineage recovery for installing builds. currently the moto g7 power i have is on lineage 18.1 but would like to update to lineage 19.1 when the next build is out.

Rule #1: No tokin' while flashing bro...
Loving the Android 12 experience on my G7. I too am experiencing some of the same issues described here. When flashing the Official ROM, and MindtheGapps, the setup program couldn't communicate with Google. It kept telling me to connect to the Internet, even though my home wifi was showing as "Connected." When I flashed the Unofficial (with Gapps included), that allows me to register, and I keep getting "System Intelligence keeps stopping" message. I tried to be sneaky and flash the official ROM through recovery/ADB after installing and setting up the unofficial ROM, but that put me in a boot loop.
Does the unofficial ROM get updates as frequently as the official (approx. every week)?

Works very well Android 13 it's weird but it's very snappy and fast! Although I found that flashing the new recovery broke the WiFi so I went back to 19,1 recovery and now everything works.
The download links are dead at the moment, for me anyway. I was just about to attempt to upgrade.
EDIT: working again now
I have installed it but every time it starts up I get a notification:
Trust - System security
SELinux is not enforcing, your security has been weakened

You can disable that notification in the setting
But seriously: I also had this after upgrading from 19.1 with 19.1 recovery. Then it was gone after clean flashing with 20 recovery.

When you say clean flash you mean wipe the data and start over?!
Or did you mean, load the new recovery and flash from that?
I just did what the instructions on the website say and sideloaded it using the existing recovery.
I don't want to wipe data unless I really, really have to, it is otherwise working fine (so far anyway).
EDIT: I dirty-flashed it again with adb sideload from the 20 recovery and SELinux is still disabled.
I upgraded to 20.0-20221101-UNOFFICIAL from 19.1-20220909-UNOFFICIAL without wiping data. Then SELinux began to show notification. After updating to 20.0-20221105 the notification disappeared.
I updated and flashed the new 11/05/22 recovery and the WiFi issues were fixed so everything is functional, although I'm still seeing SElinux disabled, of which I have no idea. But I'm really liking this new rom regardless, it's a bit frustrating that some apps downloaded 3rd party are just flat out broken, they don't even attempt to run in some cases

The apps I'm talking about are modded , none of the play store official apps, but like SL Bridge, Ram Cleaner, even when I give them all permissions to include accessibility, but yes this is very minor, it's few and far between and my guess is because they are modified packages is all.
Hi - can you guys check if your wifi is running at full speed?
When I do a Speedtest (via Ookla app) my download speed starts off high then quickly drops to half, every time (50M then drops to about 25M). Upload speed is half too.
From other devices (including a Samsung tablet on LOS18.1) this does not happen.
It didn't happen previously with my 3a either. It seems to have coincided with the change to LOS20 but it could of course just be a coincidence that's why I want to check with other users of the ROM.
EDIT: I have discovered that it's the location stuff that cripples the speed. If I turn off the location permission for the Speedtest app or just switch off the 'precise location' switch, the speed is back to normal. Must be an Android 13 'feature'. (The green dot in the corner is always on during the speedtest.)

Hello!
Wow I really like this build.
I reccomend everyone to run this command in bootloader mode
Code:
fastboot -w
in order to wipe your userdata for a fresh install.
Anyway, I would love a degoogled version, just like lineageos 19.1 ones. I don't like to use google services, and I may not be the only one.
That would be great.
Keep up your work. Cheers!
